    RSCHEEK,

    You said G35. Was it G35 or G35X . . . 4-wheel drive or rear only ?

    Thanks
  • gooddeal2gooddeal2 Member Posts: 750
Sorry to spoil your fun but your G37 does not have a 6 year, 70k factory warranty. All G's have a 4 year, 60k warranty.

It has 4 years or 60K BTB and 6 years or 70K powertrain.

Longtime lurker and just pulled trigger on deal today. Got a little nervous about credit markets and how it might affect the aggressive rates being offered.

    Details:
2008 Black G35x with Prem (no nav) - wheat int with wood. Dealer in NJ.

    MSRP - $38500
Invoice - $35,600 (which is about where I've been seeing this package give or take $100 or so)

Managed to get $1,450 under invoice with offers in hand from two dealers.

Price paid was $34,150 + tax/registration etc with 0.9% financing.
    Monthly payment of $615/month.

Feel pretty good about the deal - dealers seemed quite aggressive to move inventory today.

    Any thoughts/comments would be appreciated.

    Thanks-Vino5

$1450 under invoice looks to be one of the better deals I've seen on this (and other) forums. I got my liquid platinum G35x (prem/nav/wood) for $152 over invoice (not counting the $1000 loyalty cash available at the time) and the 0.9% financing. That was a month ago.

So, your deal sounds great to me. Enjoy! :)

Is it better, worse, the same? Looking at the specs only, the Altima coupe has more legroom. If you've actually got one or gotten in one I'd like to know.
  • soplushsoplush Member Posts: 29
I know you guys will be straight with me. In your opinions, is the price delta between the g37 and altima coupe truly worth it?

IMO rear drive, better overall materials, higher performance, and better fit & finish are worth the extra $$, you're also in a bit more exclusive company driving the G :)
If money is the deciding factor rather than driving experience & overall quality, then Altima is still a very fine choice.

    @blnew

Hey thanks I appreciate it. Good feedback.

Dealer claims he has this price down to his cost:

2008 G35x with Prem (no nav) - wheat int. but no wood.
    MSRP $37325

My quote $30,450. This includes all incentives.

Is this still good or are there better deals now ?

    Thanks

    Hi louking,

Is this the price before TTL or OTD? It sounds great price!

if i can ask what dealer did you use?
  • hprenterhprenter Member Posts: 6
Infiniti just released a $1000 cash to customer incentive, which will be on top of the .9% financing or the $3000 cash to dealer.
  • rscheekrscheek Member Posts: 2
It is a G35, no AWD, with Sports and Premium packages.

Do you guys think i can get into a G35x, no navi no other packages, just base X for 30K OTD?

Do you guys think i can get into a G35x, no navi no other packages, just base X for 30K OTD?

First, don't you just get a new TL?

Second, to get 30K OTD and assuming that you have 7% sale tax, the dealer has to sell you the car at around 27.5K + 1925 tax + registration fees.

The invoice price for the x is about 33K w/ splash guard and cargo net. I think it's going to be really hard to get this car for 5.5K under invoice.

I checked with my dealer who I just bought from who confirmed the $1000 cash back but told me that the .9% went up to 3.9% -- not sure whether it's true or not but would be interested in hearing whether this has occurred at other dealers around the country...
  • takeflighttakeflight Member Posts: 11
The financing is still 0.9%. Just go to infiniti.com and see for yourself.

What is the selling price? If it is 200 over invoice or less you probably have a good deal.

I get MSRP at 39,930 and invoice at 36,396.

Forgot to mention I'm trading in an 05 Maxima w/6mos left on lease.
They will give me 16,400 and cut me back a check for $3600 to pay the difference.

hi everybody i got a offer today for a g35xs with premium package for 30,900 before taxes i will be paying with cash i think it,s a good deal do you think i can do any better thanks
  • carexpert08carexpert08 Member Posts: 79
    Hi,

I am in the market for the same car. I wanted to find out what dealer did you get this great offer from.

    Thanks
  • sergeymsergeym Member Posts: 284
It is very difficult to get a good lease in your situation. I would drive Maxima for the remaining 6 month and then get 2009 G37. Otherwise you may want to subtract the total of remaining Maxima payments of the sell price to get the sell price w/out Maxima getting into the mixed. It is a really messy situation and will not serve to your advantage.

I have a question-I picked up a 2008 G35X, premium, nav, on 9/22. Is it too late to get the dealer cash offer of $1000. I got a pretty good deal, $507 a month with $900 out the door. it is for 39m/12K miles.
  • alpinetoalpineto Member Posts: 2
i got this deal in new york
  • TuTu Member Posts: 56
My dealer offered me $28,995 before TTT, MSRP $36,180.

    2008 Infiniti G35 Journey
    Black with graphite leather
    Premium Package

Good deal or can I go lower?

    Thanks.
  • blnewtoblnewto Member Posts: 146
That deal is good all day long :)
$7200 off sticker is very good IMO.

I'm interested in the G35X with premium package and will buy toward the end of the month. One dealer added sales tax to the rebates(1000+3000) Is this allowed?
  • kingpcgeekkingpcgeek Member Posts: 1,051
The dealer is following the rules of your state's taxing authorities. Many states require that sales tax bee charged on the selling price of a car before any rebates are applied.

    Hi hprenter,

Are any of the cash incentives applicable towards a lease selling price???

    Thanks.
  • xoveyxovey Member Posts: 7
Did you finance it at 0.9% or did you pay with cash and receive the $3000 incentive?
  • gusbufgusbuf Member Posts: 75
Through my local dealer's internet sles dept, was offered G35x w/premium, splash guards & cargo net for $36412. MSRP is 38080 and invoice is 34912. I think this deal sucks, but am wondering what I can realistically get down to. Will be visiting them for a tes drive in a week or so. What really got me is the woman starts right out and says to me that I shouldn't even expect to pay invoice as no one is seling for that low. I know she is FOS, but I play dumb and go along.

I also ask, is the $1000 to customer and $3000 to dealer applicable to leases? Thanks
  • kingpcgeekkingpcgeek Member Posts: 1,051
$1500 over invoice is ridiculous. You must be in an area with no Infiniti competition. I paid $200 over invoice in August, and there are others on this board that have paid lower since.

The $3000 cash is definitely not available with a lease. I am not sure about the $1000 since I have not seen the latest details of it. But if it is the same as Jul/Aug/Sep there is $500 cash for leasing, $1000 cash for buying.

    2008 G35 Journey + Premium + Navi
    Blue Slate + Black Int.

    Offer: $33,500 + TTL
Finance at 0.9%... no other cash back (guessing the $1000 is included in the price quoted).

    Good deal??
  • gusbufgusbuf Member Posts: 75
Yes, unfortunately I am in the Buffalo, NY area and there is only one Infiniti dealer. I am only about an hour from Rochester, though, and would be more than willing to drive there to get a better deal. Any suggestions on how to proceed with my local dealer?
  • TuTu Member Posts: 56
I was offered $29,484 OTD today from another local dealership for a 2008 G35 sedan Journey with the premium package. I think this is the best deal so far.

    Jacob0218,

Would you mind sharing the price before TT&L? I'm seeing '08 Journey models w/ Premium Pkg at about $30k (first offers from the dealers). I'd like to see what I could credibly target in order to make an appropriate counter-offer...

    Thanks!
  • TuTu Member Posts: 56
    It's $28112 + $93 tags, + $349 processing fee, + $930 taxes.

    What state are you in?

Hi guys, this forum has been both extremely informative but also a little overwhelming. I am a first time car buyer and I've been following the G35 for quite some time. With the release of the '09 G37 sedan, I'm pretty confident that I can get a good deal on an '08.

My first question is has anyone had a good buying experience from a Houston Infiniti dealership? Felt that the price they were offered was fair vs. all these other posts I've read about how people are getting their car for under invoice, which is amazing. I've been looking at a Journey with Premium & Sport packages. According to Edmonds that'll run roughly $34k/$37k invoice/MSRP, yet I've read so many posts about how people are getting it for much lower. So my next question is how do I do that! Are you guys going through the internet manager vs. sales people? I will be switching over from Toyota so I hear you get some off for that. I recently graduated from college (again) so I'm not sure how much they really care for that, but I have a stable job that won't be affected by the economy anytime soon I'm sure. Credit score is excellent, etc...

Any recommendations would be appreciated, you guys are a great resource and thanks ahead for the tips.

    Hey houston tn

I am also looking for a G35 and I actually saw one yesterday at the clear lake dealership. It looks awesome with the illuminated kicks. I honestly I dont think they care if your college graduated, I mean most of them dont have the money to buy one and this is an Infiniti!! You could get the price lower if you include the 3000 rebate manufacture to dealer. But wont get the finance if your going that road. Also dont forget the dealer holdback, its 3% not 1% ( 1% msrp and 2& show room whatever that means) just dont mention that when you go in. I am going to pay cash so I could get the whole rebate of 4000. I saved up so hopefully I could get a deal. Good luck and research. Let me know.

cash or finance? did you have to put down cash in order to get the deal? thx
  • thepostmanthepostman Member Posts: 49
I am also in Houston and looking to lease a G35. So far I have only visited North Houston Infiniti and Southwest Infiniti. Still shopping !!!
I am also interested in a Platinum Silver with Prem and Sport. The North dealer had several in all colors. They are on the back lot collecting dust. I will probably wait until the end of the month to buy.

What state are you in I'd take that deal with .9 % financing. you sure they are not going to bail out on the financing at that price

    Hello all,

thanks for all the posts of prices/experience.

I live in North Texas. Getting a price of $31,800 OTD for:

    G35 Journey
    Premium Package
    Front & Rear splash guards
    Window Tint

Is this a good price or do you think there is scope for more negotiation?
    Will really appreciate feedback.
  • houston_tnhouston_tn Member Posts: 19
So I've been in contact with some of the Houston dealerships asking about the '08 G35 Journey pricing with Premium & sports packages. At Clear Lake, the guy offered $35,468 and the 0.9% financing or $32,468 if I went through my own financing and opted for the cash off. The Southwest Infiniti internet sales manager was really nice and returned my questions very quickly. Basically offered similar prices $34/$31k for just premium and $35/$32k with premium and sport pkgs.

Am I getting shafted here in these prices? I'm reading about all these others getting prices for $29-$30k, but is that because they opted for the cash off vs. good financing? Also, I recently checked my credit score and it says it's excellent, so what kind of financing can I expect if I go through my bank or their financing if I don't opt for the 0.9%. Hmm, I hope that all made sense. Thanks guys for your input.
  • blnewtoblnewto Member Posts: 146
Even w/ great credit it's going to be tough to get the interest rates we were all used to just a few months ago. I think I'd take the .9% and do a bit more shopping to get the price down a bit. These dealerships are going to be begging for your business (especially w/ Nissan sales down 30% from a year ago) so you've got the upper hand :)
  • houston_tnhouston_tn Member Posts: 19
Thanks Blnewto for the feedback. Yea, the 0.9% financing is very tempting. Guess I'm trying to figure out how I can haggle down the price as well while getting that financing. Any tips?
  • r1200sr1200s Member Posts: 2
Unfortunately, it's next to impossible to get a great deal (like those you see talked about here) in Houston on an Infinity or a Lexus as all of the dealerships are owned by two families or auto groups. There is a gentlemen's agreement between them not cannibalize the market. When I was looking, all of these dealerships in Houston were thousands more than even deals being offered up in Dallas.

I'd contact dealers in other cities and states and see what kind of deal you can work with their Internet sales dept. You might be able to get one of the local dealers to match it if they see you're ready to pull the trigger. If they match it, great....if not, road trip time. A couple of hundred dollars for a plane ticket to save several thousand makes sense.
  • houston_tnhouston_tn Member Posts: 19
Great advice r1200s. I had contacted Gunn Infiniti in San Antonio and they found a G35 Journey with both sports & premium packages for $30,981. That's the best price I've found so far for both packages. Who knows, I'll use that price with the Houston dealerships and see if they're willing to match or go lower. The Austin dealership mentioned they could deliver the car to my front door with a full tank of gas as well, which is also appealing, and the internet sales rep sounded willing to work in regards to pricing in order to get my business. I'm pretty sure I'll give Dallas a try as well.

Again, I'm in a fortunate situation in which I don't need a new car right away and both of my and my wife's car are paid off, so it's nice not having a car payment at the moment. I just figured if I can get a really good deal on a great car, why not go for it. Maybe I should wait til the end of Oct or beginning of Nov when the '09 G37 Sedans roll out, then I'm sure they'll really want to get those '08s off the lot.
