    Paulo,

I was in the exact same situation as you. I had traditionally leased cars, but with the 0.9% financing I ended up buying. At the time of purchase, I ended up getting an additional $1,000 loyalty rebate, not sure if that's still available.

I negotiated $39 over invoice before the rebate. I think that you can do better than $400 over.

p.s. here are the details to my transaction:

invoice price according to edmunds.com is $36,558 not including window tint so it looks like i got a little under invoice if you include the window tint. Thanks!

I think we reached a the end of the negotiations..I got them to go to Invoice. So, I will be getting at 0.9% and 60mos. a 2008 G35X Sport/Premium for $35810. Since it is 0.9% I will financing the whole thing, icluding taxes, title, etc. Loyalty apparently applies now to leasing ($500) only and not purchasing at 0.9%. I think I got a good deal.

Just purchased an 08 G35 sedan with a sticker of $38330 from Infiniti of South Atlanta. Negotiated invoice less $3000 incentive, less $500 equaled $31500 plus tax tag title and dealer fee of $600. Actually picked out a model paid for it and notice paint imperfections. Dealer assured they would detail. They did and I was not happy with paint (acid rain I suspect). Sales Manager told me to pick another one on the lot, found the same model with same equipment and he took care of the paperwork. Can't beat that for customer service. This is my 3rd G35, had 03.5, 06, and now 08 each is a little better than the last one.

    Hi all,

I would appreciate some feedback on this current offer I was given. I am looking for a 2008 g35xS with:
    Premium
    Sport
    Splash Guards

    MSRP:$39,180

I was given a price of $32,960 without the special finance or $35960 with the special finance.

I think I can do better but I'm not sure. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

    Congrats Paulo:

    You're going to love the 2008 G35X.

Glad to hear that you were able to get them down to invoice!

  • peekay1peekay1 Member Posts: 75
$35,860 looks like $100 over invoice - so it's in the ballpark of the deals that are currently out there. I'm sure if you can get them down to invoice or a few bucks lower with enough effort. Good luck!
  • paulo6paulo6 Member Posts: 94
    carexpert08,

As mentioned above I signed the papers last night for exactly what you are getting...MSRP is by the way, $39130 (off by $50)...maybe you have the trunk net or something. Anyway, I got them down to invoice at $35810.
Doc fee here in Ann Arbor is $180, taxes 6%.

I am financing the whole amount (incl. tax, title, etc) for 0 down, at 0.9% for 60mos. Pretty much free money.

You should be able to knock another $100 or so if it is really worth the trouble over the life of the loan.!

    hi...first post.
awaiting delivery of G35XS while tech struggles with remote-start install...I was wondering if you know specifically what unit was put in your car...any additional interfaces to get it be friendly with all the Infinit stuff ?. Also, I have been under the impression (until now) that unified FOB (using the Infiniti FOB) wasn't going to be possible...do all other related functions operate properly with the remote-sart in place...ie senses FOB on approach, engine doesn't turn off and have to be restarted, etc... ??

    thanks...Mike

At the end of the day, it is a moral victory, for the difference translates to $7/month in payments...I got it at invoice at that makes me feel good.

    Getting a Blue-Slate with Stone interior. Premium/Sport.
They are getting it to me from an Ohio Dealer...hopefully before the weekend.

    Thanks for the support

Just purchased the 2008 G35X as follows:

    Premium Pkg
    Sport Pkg
    Cargo Net
    Splash Guards

    With the $3,000 incentive I paid $32,500 + tax + title.
  • sharkalasharkala Member Posts: 48
I renogiated a 2008 g35X with premium, nav, splash guards, cargo net and wood trim for $975 upfront costs and $509 a month, including tax. MSRP is $40, 680 - price they configured was $37,500. they came down about $15 per month for 12K/36m. I am pleased with the figures and am picking up the garnet ember car next week. Can't wait!

Where did you purchase your 08 G35x? What incentives did they offer you? I am in the NY area as well.

    Thanks for your help!
  • sharkalasharkala Member Posts: 48
I am getting the car from Willow Grove, PA. I am not sure of the incentives since I am leasing. Hope this helps.
  • kderobertiskderobertis Member Posts: 82
It's the $3,000 cash back to dealers.. have you not been viewing the prior posting?

$3000 Dealer cash or 0.90 % APR, but you cannot combine the two.

Cash to Dealer start: 09/03/2008 end: 09/30/2008

Have you not been reading his question? He is not buying, he is leasing.

There are no leasing incentives right now.

Paid $33900 OTD in PA. Cash, have to get a loan myself though.

  • vpanditavpandita Member Posts: 3
What would be a good price OTD for a 2008 model for a cash purchase?
  • kingpcgeekkingpcgeek Member Posts: 1,051
    invoice +/- $200

you would be better financing the car, getting the $3000 dealer cash, and then paying off the loan quickly. Just watch out for any prepayment penalties.

I am looking at G35s at Infiniti of South Atlanta. Can you tell me what color/interior you purchased that had the paint imperfections? Just want to be sure I don't choose the same one! Also, does your $31,500 include dealer delivery fee and the destination and handling charge?

    Thanks so much!!
  • zippy66zippy66 Member Posts: 2
The fact that there is only one Infiniti dealer in the greater Pittsburgh area is the primary reason I solicited internet quotes from Cleveland and DC/Baltimore...and I'm glad I did - the Pittsburgh sales guy I dealt with sounded just about the same as your quotes, and he pretty much told me he would have to go get the color/feature combo I wanted in my G35x from DC/Balt anyways (which would cost an extra $300!!).

Long story short - the deal I got from Passport Infiniti in Alexandria, VA saved me about $4k off of the Pittsburgh dealer's offer on my G35x and I got $1200 more for my trade-in to boot. Saving $5k+ was sure worth the 4 hour drive (each way) to me. :P

(see a few pages earlier in this thread for my deal specifics...I got a pretty good deal IMHO)
  • loukinglouking Member Posts: 28
Got a dealer internet price quote for a 2008 G35X sedan, automatic, with premium pkg. without Navi. as follows : $31,825.

This price includes destination and a rebate of $3000 in lieu of Infiniti special finance rates.

Any idea if this is a decent price ?
  • paulo6paulo6 Member Posts: 94
Add the $3K to the price ($31825), if that gets you +/-$200 of the invoice then I guess it is decent. I picked up mine yesterday at invoice, BUT I later got an offer from another dealer (2 hours away) for $300 BELOW invoice...
  • loukinglouking Member Posts: 28
    Paulo6

    - What was your trim pakage and price ?
  • paulo6paulo6 Member Posts: 94
    Louking,
I got a 2008 G35xS (Sport and Premium). MSRP is $39130, I got it at Invoice of
$35810. After I got the deal, another dealer (2 hours away) offered me the same car (the car was in Ohio) for $300 below invoice ($35510) - but that was not worth the trouble over a 5 year financing. Again this price does NOT include the $3000 cashback, for I opted for the 0.9% financing option.

    Paulo-
Congrats! You're going to love the car. I just hit 1000 miles last week, and had a chance to open it up a bit...man, she is fast.

I had a 2005 G35 6MT coupe and the 2008 sedan feels like it is much faster...

    PK1
  • paulo6paulo6 Member Posts: 94
I could not resist...with 300 miles on it already, I pushed it a bit once or twice..but I am trying to be careful until I hit 1000 or so miles. Much nicer ride.

But to be honest, I think my 2006 6MT sedan (which I still have until mid-october when the lease ends) is a more fun to drive car with RWD and manual. You feel the speed more than the 08 I got. I got pulled over by the way 3 hours after I picked it up- - can't tell you are going that fast until you look at the speedo!
  • peekay1peekay1 Member Posts: 75
    Paulo:

Agreed, the manual transmission is a ton more fun. My wife was disappointed that I couldn't find a 6MT sedan, truth is, there was one in the Chicagoland area, but it had a spoiler and I'm not too fond of the factory spoiler, AND it wasn't in the color combo that I wanted AND it was about a grand more.

Hope you were able to get out of the ticket!

Hello everyone, first I would like to thank everyone for all the great information that has been made available. Longtime lurker first time post. I'm currently thinking about this deal:

2008 Infiniti G37S Black on Black Automatic
    Clean Title
    Sport, Premium, Navi Packages
    8,685 Miles
    $33,500

Everyone please let me know if this is a good deal. Thanks !
  • paulo6paulo6 Member Posts: 94
If you price a brand new Journey with the packages you specify, you end up
    with an MSRP of $39815.

You should be able to buy a brand new one at around Invoice (+/- $200) from a dealer ($36321). Now if you factor in the $3000 incentive available through September you can easily get this car at invoice-Incentive for a total of $33321, which is less than what you are being quoted for a used one with 8685 miles.

    You can do much better...

Just thought I would share the details of a purchase I made over the weekend:

2008 Infiniti G35x with Navi, Premium, Wood, Perf Tires, Splash Guards

    MSRP of 41,080

Got it for 36,700+TTL, not including the 3000 dealer incentive which helped even more.

I was trying to hold out for the 2009, but couldn't pass this up!

2008 Infiniti G35 with Premium, Navi, Splash Guards

    MSRP: $38,380
    Invoice: $35,060
    Total OTD : $33,800

WHOO-HOO!!! This includes the $3,000 incentive but even without it I was still WAY under invoice. Love the car too!
  • kingpcgeekkingpcgeek Member Posts: 1,051
Congrats on the new car. The 08 I leased last month is so much nicer then my 05.

You ought to give us the price of the car you paid since OTD is a worthless number for comparison sake.

Hi Gang, I am trying to replace my A4 which I just returned and I am cross shoping between the G35x and the Acura TL Type-S. I want to keep my pmts in the low $400s, but I just got a quote for a fully loaded G35x that sounds I think good. It includes the following:

    08 G35x
    Premium package
    Navigation pakage
    sport package
splash guards, wheel looks, and trunk net

I was quoted $499 (NJ taxes included), for a 39 month lease, 12k per year and $1,700 drive off (no money down just fees and 1st month pmt). I did not go in details about the cap cost used to get that monthly pmt or the money factor. But do you guys think that is a decent deal? I can get the Type-S for the same except it would be for 36 months and only 10k per year.

    Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

I have used this forum to get some very useful information so thought I would share my experience here.

    I just bought

    2008 G35 Journey
    Premium Package,
    Navigation Package,
    Splash Guard,
    Trunk Cargo Net,

    Car OTD price: $32,400

I used the $3000 cash incentive. BTW... I had few other deals with Black on Black but w/o navigation for $31,500.

Let me know your feedback guys!

Just purchased a g35x blue slate / stone / premium / nav for $300 under invoice and .9% financing. I hope I didn't screw myself by purchasing right before some crazy october special... we shall see.

Before I pick this up, any thoughts on pre-paid maintenance? I'm going to be doing highway driving to work and ski trips. Premium vs Schedule 1 vs Schedule 2? And what should my target price be for negotiating?
  • ufrc75ufrc75 Member Posts: 2
If you take the $3000 off the price of the car instead of the 0.9% financing, do you have to finance the car through Infiniti? What kind of rates are they offering right now? I got a great rate through my bank that I work for and I would rather use them but I obviously don't want to miss out on the $3,000 since I plan to pay of the car quickly..
  • kingpcgeekkingpcgeek Member Posts: 1,051
You have to finance through IFS to get the $3000 off

I don't think you have to finance through IFC to get $3000 as I was about to pay by cash when I purchased mine.

BTW...even if you have to, you can finance for one month and pay it off quickly by cash as there should not be any early payment penalty for these loans.

I'm picking mine up today. Thread has been very helpful in considering a fair price.

G35 lakeshore slate, stone interior with Premium and Sport packages (they all seem to have the cargo net, trunk mat and splash guards)( for $34533 OTD. Price after $3000 dealer cash was $31734, which I thought was fair. Financed a portion and did not have to go through IFS, used Capital One instead.

I too hope there isn't some insane Oct. sale, but my car recently got totaled, so I could not wait long.

I'm also interested in what everyone thinks about the factory extended warranty. I usually don't buy in to those, but with this car, I'm wondering if it would be worth it.
  • ufrc75ufrc75 Member Posts: 2
I am on the verge of pulling the trigger on a new g35, however, I am debating whether to see what the specials in october will be. The way I see it, the financing may change (due to the credit crunch), but the cash back will either remain the same or be increased. So since I am in for the rebates instead of the financing, I wwas going to wait. Any thoughts on what to expect in October and whether this is a horrible plan on my part. :-)
  • busman01busman01 Member Posts: 46
I believe the G35 comes with a 6 year - 70k factory warranty. When I took delivery of my G37 (6 yr - 70k warranty), the retailer suggested I skip the extended warranty as most problems occur within those parameters. Plus, the vehicles are nearly bulletproof.

I am wanting to find out what people are really paying for a new G35 equipped with prem pachage, nav package. tech package w wood, msrp 41,500. I am getting ready to negociate a deal..live in midwest but willing to buy out of town for best price.
