Try to talk to the manager and not the sales person, you have an intermediary that makes it more complicated than you need.
As is the 35k quote is 6k+ off of MSRP. The AMEX price includes the $2500 incentive in the quote and states this explicitly.
In your opinion, how much further should I try to negotiate? True car states that the cost to dealer for the car is 34,400 or so.
Thanks much
Focus on Invoice.
33k is reasonable if you have dealers in the area to compete. Also, this is a great month to see what the dealer is willing to go to because the month end is on a Wednesday. There are breakpoints that dealers reach which gives them more money per car. If you be patient, you will get a good price.
FYI - Price is not everything. The closest dealer to me was not cooperative and so I did not give him my business. Even if he offered the best price, I do not need to be treated like that period and do not want to promote that type of business. So you need to feel good about who you buy it from as well.
the 2500 is a dealer rebate so you need to deduct 2500 from 34400. I had similar price and I paid 33200+Tax+Title. All fees included in the 33200. So the dealer made about 1200 on me.
Like someone mentioned this already, the invoice is 38K. A few hundreds under invoice - 2500 cash != 33K.
...nothing to sorry...I just don't want the person who asked the question get too excited. :P
Mannix, you were able to get an AWD + Premium package + Navigation for 33+? That's phenomenal
Also, is getting the Tech package on this car in Blue Slate or Lakeshore Slate as impossible as the local dealer is telling me?
This forum has been invaluable to me in negotiating a great price so far - Thanks!!!
2009 G37 Convertible Premium/Nav/Wood/19" Wheels

Sales Price - $47,700
Term - 39 Months
MF - .00228
Residual - 60%

Question: From what I can tell the dealer is giving me a great sales price on the car (given that it is a convertible)? Second I t=know he is making his money on the money factor. Is it true that Infiniti is not giving dealers any help on G37 Convertibles?

Most people looking to buy are looking for less than 75 miles on the ODO, so I would consider this a used vehicle.
I guess 500-1000 off a new one. Just a guess.
Question: From what I can tell the dealer is giving me a great sales price on the car (given that it is a convertible)? BEst method is to check with other dealers, even if you have to go out of town, not literally, just call and speak to manager and see if he will match it or better the price.
Second I t=know he is making his money on the money factor. I'm sure he is, but the only way to get the dealer to give in on this or reduce the cost, is to approach Credit Unions and see what they are willing to offer. The money factor you quoted is equivalent to 5.49%.
Hope this helps. Good luck
Mannix

includes african rosewood trim as well. Is this a good price? NJ dealer.
New vehicle must be bought between 8/28/09 and 11/30/09 - must be submitted before 12/31/09.
The final deal I got is $35,100 + $190 document fee + $25 temporary tags + eventual PA tax when I title it there. Tax is deductible in the end. Paying cash. Dealer throwing in detailing and some other little things. Amex $500 coming back. What do you guys think? Dealer says he's selling for at cost but who knows what's true.
Thanks for everyone's help so far.
Please e mail if interested.
Thanks.
I purchased it for 33,235 + fees.
I hope this was a good deal. :confuse:
Thanks!

I am looking for this exact vehicle! What state did you purchase this in? Has anyone purchased a similar vehicle in Northern CA, and for what price? I'd greatly appreciate any responses.
Rahul
Would greatly appreciate if you could share details of dealer and state.
Thanks

After some negotiating, we agreed on 33,500 + fees. Dealer was not pleased and stated they were losing money on deal, but they accepted it and were very professional. My impression is that the best deals are on the models without premium and nav., as G37s with those packages are becoming hard to find -- especially together. I did not get the exact color exterior and interior that I would have chosen, but I am thrilled that I got a great car for a great price. This forum was invaluable in educating me.
