Look at the posts in this forum. You will see that people are getting +- a few hundred of invoice plus 2500 off if they did not use the IFS financing special. How many dealers are there in your area? Also, you should get 2500 off the AMEX price as well.

Try to talk to the manager and not the sales person, you have an intermediary that makes it more complicated than you need.

Thanks for replying. I'm trying to sift through the many pages. Is 35,410 the correct invoice? Edmunds and truecar put the invoice closer to upper 37k/low 38k.

As is the 35k quote is 6k+ off of MSRP. The AMEX price includes the $2500 incentive in the quote and states this explicitly.

In your opinion, how much further should I try to negotiate? True car states that the cost to dealer for the car is 34,400 or so.

    Thanks much

    FORGET MSRP.

    Focus on Invoice.

33k is reasonable if you have dealers in the area to compete. Also, this is a great month to see what the dealer is willing to go to because the month end is on a Wednesday. There are breakpoints that dealers reach which gives them more money per car. If you be patient, you will get a good price.

FYI - Price is not everything. The closest dealer to me was not cooperative and so I did not give him my business. Even if he offered the best price, I do not need to be treated like that period and do not want to promote that type of business. So you need to feel good about who you buy it from as well.

True car states that the cost to dealer for the car is 34,400 or so.

the 2500 is a dealer rebate so you need to deduct 2500 from 34400. I had similar price and I paid 33200+Tax+Title. All fees included in the 33200. So the dealer made about 1200 on me.

Edmunds shows that Invoice price on the G37x with premium and nav is around $38K. The invoice price of $35,410 would have to include the $2,500 incentive and I would say anything below $35.5K is a good deal. But make sure you get quotes from multiple dealers to see differences in fees and price of your trade.

Like someone mentioned this already, the invoice is 38K. A few hundreds under invoice - 2500 cash != 33K.

...nothing to sorry...I just don't want the person who asked the question get too excited. :P

I'm not sure if I'm missing something. How is an invoice of ~38k minus a few hundred dollars minus $2500 = $33k?

Mannix, you were able to get an AWD + Premium package + Navigation for 33+? That's phenomenal

How much of a discount should I get for taking a G37x Prem/Nav/Sport that has been a manager's demo and has ~600 miles on it?

Also, is getting the Tech package on this car in Blue Slate or Lakeshore Slate as impossible as the local dealer is telling me?

This forum has been invaluable to me in negotiating a great price so far - Thanks!!!

Love this forum and thank you to everyone that post their deals and gives us all a way to share that I am sure some Dealers hate. Don't see a lot of convertibles on here so I thought I would post. Anyway, I have been offered the following which I want to decide on monday and wanted to get the info out and get peoples opinions:

    2009 G37 Convertible Premium/Nav/Wood/19" Wheels
    MSRP - $51,345
    Sales Price - $47,700
    Term - 39 Months
    MF - .00228
    Residual - 60%

Taxes and Fees rolled into the lease (Total Adds to Cap $3313)

    Monthly at $684

Question: From what I can tell the dealer is giving me a great sales price on the car (given that it is a convertible)? Second I t=know he is making his money on the money factor. Is it true that Infiniti is not giving dealers any help on G37 Convertibles?

We had to pay a delivery charge of 450$ to get them to trade one of their cars and go down the road 30 miles and get the Blue Slate. The color was worth it - ( it really shows the dust / dirt though) It bumped the price up to 33,550. It is not an AWD, but came with all the packages on it - then we put the burl wood inside instead of the chrome - wow it looks beautiful.

Tech pkg - Not impossible, but surely difficult. If you really want it, then I think you can order it.

Most people looking to buy are looking for less than 75 miles on the ODO, so I would consider this a used vehicle.

I guess 500-1000 off a new one. Just a guess.

Not aware of any help from Infiniti for the convertible. It is typical when dealing with a new release.

Question: From what I can tell the dealer is giving me a great sales price on the car (given that it is a convertible)? BEst method is to check with other dealers, even if you have to go out of town, not literally, just call and speak to manager and see if he will match it or better the price.

Second I t=know he is making his money on the money factor. I'm sure he is, but the only way to get the dealer to give in on this or reduce the cost, is to approach Credit Unions and see what they are willing to offer. The money factor you quoted is equivalent to 5.49%.

    Hope this helps. Good luck

What is a good price for a new G37 with Premium and Navigation packages? Without any negotiation, I was offered 3 years no interest or $2,500 off the invoice, which let to the price being $33,699, plus $599 administrative fee for the dealership, for a total of $34,268, plus tax. Is that a good price? Thanks in advance.
  • denverg35denverg35 Member Posts: 54
Good question. I think that folks are getting +/- $200 from invoice WITHOUT paying the dealer handling fee, but most posts don't specifically address it. My local dealer let me walk couple of weeks ago when I asked for invoice, no dealer handling fee, their offer was basically $489 over invoice.

    35,850 +TTL
includes african rosewood trim as well. Is this a good price? NJ dealer.

Can someone please explain this program in a bit more detail please? I cannot find anything about it on the internet or the Amex site. All of the posts here just mention a redemption code. I would like to understand it a bit more before I start reaching out to folks who have the code.
  • sewellgsmsewellgsm Member Posts: 775
AMEX teamed up with Infiniti and sent out a promotion to folks who own Infinitis. It ask them to send in their friends, family, co-workers to buy an Infiniti. For anyone who does, the buyer gets a $500 card the person who refered them gets $150. People going on this forum, don't know anyone who wants to buy a car, but they want to get their $150 - so they are just looking for someone who bought an Infiniti to say that they refered them - both parties get a card. www.infinitiusa.com/rewards

Thanks for your quick reply. It seems all that is required is the VIN, Buyers name and address. Not that I am completely untrusting, but what would stop someone from using my vin and name but having the card sent to another address? Does Amex do some sort of check/verification before they send it out? Also can you confirm the expiration date for the program is Nov 1st?
  • sewellgsmsewellgsm Member Posts: 775
I assume it has to match the address they sent the promotion to, but don't know for sure.

New vehicle must be bought between 8/28/09 and 11/30/09 - must be submitted before 12/31/09. :)

So I'm putting down a deposit on a 2009 G37x Premium/Navi tomorrow. I just can't decide on platinum graphite/graphite or blue slate/graphite....both look awesome and i'm just excited to be driving the car soon. anyone think one is a lot better than the other for some reason?

The final deal I got is $35,100 + $190 document fee + $25 temporary tags + eventual PA tax when I title it there. Tax is deductible in the end. Paying cash. Dealer throwing in detailing and some other little things. Amex $500 coming back. What do you guys think? Dealer says he's selling for at cost but who knows what's true.

Thanks for everyone's help so far.

    Hi,

I am looking for this exact vehicle! What state did you purchase this in? Has anyone purchased a similar vehicle in Northern CA, and for what price? I'd greatly appreciate any responses.

Yesterday I bought a G37 Journey Sedan with premium + nav pkg.
After some negotiating, we agreed on 33,500 + fees. Dealer was not pleased and stated they were losing money on deal, but they accepted it and were very professional. My impression is that the best deals are on the models without premium and nav., as G37s with those packages are becoming hard to find -- especially together. I did not get the exact color exterior and interior that I would have chosen, but I am thrilled that I got a great car for a great price. This forum was invaluable in educating me.

rb-ca, I just purchased a G37 Journey with Premium and Navigation ( and a few other small things) for 33,600 plus TTL from Infiniti of Pleasanton. I probably could have gotten the car for a little less at another dealer but they had the car I wanted and were great to deal with. I recommend contacting their internet sales consultant who was extremely knowledgable and informative and was no-pressure.

There is nothing you can do to get a code for your parents purchase. It is something the Infiniti sends to certain prior customers automatically, there is no way to request one.
