You basically got it for $136 below invoice and that's fair to good deal in my book. What color and what was the dealer experience?
Did you shop around? or Just haggled with the dealer?

    Thanks for the information.

    Black with wheat interior.

This forum obviously helped a lot. I did get quotes from around 5-7 dealers in the tristate area and this was the best I could get.

Dealer exp was not great but not bad either.

I thought the holdback for infiniti is...

1% of Base MSRP for holdback + 2% of Base Invoice for floor plan

Looks like a good deal. Would you please share which dealer you got the deal from in NJ? I am from Philly, but wouldn' t mind pick it up for NJ. I am in market for the same car. Thanks for you help in advance.

I was able to get a G37 Journey sedan with splash guards, cargo net, wheel locks (Invoice 32,213) for $28,988 plus 6% sales tax, title fee's along with a $599 doc fee. Thought this info may be helpful since you're also looking at a Journey model. Not sure if I got the best price possible. This was at Infiniti of Decatur in Atlanta, GA.

I appreciate your reply....sounds like you got a great deal. I was trying to find out if the base invoice price of the g37 Journey sedan went from 31,142 to 31,442 (a $300 increase) sometime around June 19th. When did you purchase your car, and which figure did you use? It seems that most of the sources I looked at after a Google search still show the lower number (including Edmunds). but Kelly Blue Books website showed the higher number effective June 19. Thanks again!

Wow, thats the 3rd G37 bought at Infiniti of Decatur off of this forum in just 2 weeks.(Me being the first.) I have a $50 referral fee coming for one of the purchases. Send me an email if you want an introduction and a quote from them. We might as well earn something from all of the informative posts on here!
  • mannix77mannix77 Member Posts: 76
    I bought from there too.
  • crunkiebrewstacrunkiebrewsta Member Posts: 4
I believe the edmunds invoice price is correct. The sales manager showed me the invoice price before I puchased the car, but I don't remember the exact number. However, I do remember thinking to myself at the time it was close to or matched the invoice number on edmunds.

    I bought from there too.

    Mannix,

Wow, make that 4 sales at Infiniti of Decatur from Edmunds in only 2 weeks. I don't remember seeing your deal. Did you score a similar $3,500+/- off of invoice that the rest of us got? You probably did even better as SMody beat my deal. Fill in the details on what you got and your experience.

Thanks for following through with the update. It is embarrasing to me that we still have this "crap" go on in our business.

BTW, no Aston Martin either. :(

Whats the best way to get internet price quote from numerous dealers? I currently own a 2005 g-35. Is the infiniti loyalty cash just if you lease?
  • sewellgsmsewellgsm Member Posts: 775
Yes, loyalty rebate is just if you lease. As for quotes, get one from your local dealer - post it on here and the people will let you know if it is good or not. :)

Thanks to all who have provided information on this forum, especially Swellsgm. It has been especially helpful in negotiating a great deal. After checking all the dealers in the Washington, DC area, ended up at Sheehy Infinity in Annapolis. Sealed the deal on a Black G37 Journey Sedan with Prem/Nav/Sport and the standard splash guards, cargo mat, and cargo net.

MRSP of $41,630, but paid $34,900 + TTL. Out the door cost was $36,115.

Great experience and a great car for the wife. Maybe someday I will get to drive it.

Would appreciate forum members thoughts on this pricing through the USAA car buying program: AWD, sunroof, prem, nav packages $35,848 (no tax, fees) = $31,994 base, $3,854 options. Edmunds quotes $36,883 invoice with above options. Is this pricing reasonable? Are the dealers bound to this pricing? Looking to buy in Texas. Thanks

After following this forum, I recently purchased a Blue Slate 09 G37x sedan with Prem., Sport, Nav., splash guards, cargo net, trunk mat and they threw in the wheel locks in N.E., Infiniti of Norwood, Msrp $42,480, Invoice $38,942 paid 36,900, which is $2042 below invoice, $300 more than I expected and thousands less than other dealers in area, but they had to get car from another dealer to get color I wanted, extra dollars were worth it for color I wanted. The car is fantastic and I'm pleased with deal. Thanks to everyone in this forum for great info. I'm also looking to team up for infinity rewards offer! Contact me I'll e mail back.

Did I remember correctly, I thought I read that the above dealer will ship your car to your local dealer? I've read so many posts in researching. I know they are posting sweet deals from this dealer.

Ok here goes my rant. Can someone please tell me the ins and outs of this program? Exactly how much would this save me? How do I have to prove I work for one of those companies? I called Infiniti's customer sevice # and they don't have any info on this nationwide program! I must say you can go on GM's website and find out exactly what you will save with their credit union discount program. The customer service # said you have to get that info from your dealership! uh duh! First of all I am dealing with multiple dealers and secondly I think I would like that info before I start negotiations. Rant over! Thanks.

There seem to be a lot of programs. I'm interested in a fully loaded Journey package. I have no affiliation with infiniti, but was wondering if there is any way for me to take advantage of the pricing you guys have been quoting. i looked back through the post, but dont understand how you are getting these cars for below invoice. Any help on how to negotiate the best deal would be appreciated. i'm in texas. thanks!!
  • sewellgsmsewellgsm Member Posts: 775
skyfaux - I think USAA gives you a person to contact :) The USAA program is a great program - there are a couple of small issues. One, only major options are listed on the site and many vehicles will have some minor options on them as well (like Splash Guards, etc). Two, the price USAA gives you is a "target price" to make sure you are not getting taken advantage of; however, the actual price depending on availability may be a tad higher. Lastly, in Texas, all Infinitis have the dreaded $260 Warranty Supplement Cost Recovery - each state is different - that is on the invoice and the dealer will show you, but it does not show on the USAA site. Hope this helps. :)
  • sewellgsmsewellgsm Member Posts: 775
heytray - Your Human Resource department should be able to help as well. You basically get the car haggle free for about $350 over invoice minus all available incentives - it is all pre negoiciated. You have to bring a business card or some type of proof that you work at an eligible company. No reason to work with multiple dealers, the price is set - just go to the one you like the most or if a trade is involved - go to the one who will give you the most for your trade. :)
  • mannix77mannix77 Member Posts: 76
No special programs. Simply calling dealers and letting them know that you are in the market and are wanting to see what they are willing to sell the vehicle to you and at what price. Then you will get a few quotes and tell them that it is not good enough, as you have other lower bids, and you have seen deals at lower prices. Then shut up. They will come to you with a lower price. Don't ever offer a price. If you want the lowest price, then you cannot set the floor.

A dealer told me to get the lowest price and then come to him and he will better it. NO. That does not work. Do not reward the ones that do not participate fairly.

Also, the price you get in your area can vary from what people get elsewhere. This is due to dealer circumstances, infiniti sales promotions, time of the month, and number of dealers in the area competing for your business.

Also, MSRP is not the reference point. INVOICE Price is. You can negotiate for any car on the lot by talking $ above or below invoice price.

Speak to the fleet or internet manager. Avoid middlemen.

It's not brain surgery. The ways most of these people did it are mentioned many times if you read back several pages.

    1. Be ready, willing and able to buy. By that I mean don't be dabbling and worse yet dabbling without credit. Be serious and get your credit (if neccessary) lined up ahead of time. If you have a trade....know what it is worth by doing research.

    2. Email several dealers and tell them you are absolutely ready to buy, you've got cash or credit lined up and give them the exact car you want and tell them you want to pay $1000 under invoice minus the $2500 dealer cash. They will probably all refuse but some may make a counter offer Work those deals and try to get a price below invoice minus the $2500.

    3. Don't mention your trade at all. That will be a seperate negotiation when you actually go to the dealer that you want to deal with. Keep in mind that you may still have to walk if they low ball your trade. You may get a better deal paying a few hundred more for the G but get a lot more for your trade someplace else. Dealers are making more money off your trade (if it's a decent vehicle) then they are going to make off the new car sale so be firm on your trade price but keep it reasonable.

    4. Most important thing is to have the mindset that you absolutely don't have to buy a car right now. The dealer absolutely does want to sell a car right now and that is one of the few things in which you have the upper hand. Be prepared to walk!

    5. I've had my trade-in keys literally thrown at me at the dealership because of the deal that I wanted only to have the same salesperson call me up the next day and accept my offer.

    6. It's a game and if you're not competitive and willing to invest the time you will lose. It's as simple as that. If that is not your personality, have someone help you. If that is just not you, accept it, pay a little more and enjoy your new car!

Thanks so much for the help. Does the $2,500 apply if I take advantage of the infiniti lease program?
  • sewellgsmsewellgsm Member Posts: 775
No, $2500 if you purchase. There is a $1000 Loyalty Rebate if you currently own an Infiniti plus there are tax credits right now. :)
  • dallasmandallasman Member Posts: 79
crud. Cadillac does the same thing. the loyalty rebates make it very difficult to switch brands.
  • sewellgsmsewellgsm Member Posts: 775
Yes, that is why we like them. (I work at the dealership) Plus, our previous customers love them - most were planning on buying/leasing another Infiniti anyway - they are great vehicles. :)
  • dallasmandallasman Member Posts: 79
the problem is that we are in a cadillac now! My dad has an M45 that he leased, but he is in CA. Any way we can leverage off that relationship to get loyalty cash?
  • kingpcgeekkingpcgeek Member Posts: 1,051
Aren't the tax credits a Texas thing only?

Every state charges taxes different on leases - don't know about all 50, but Texas does have tax credits this month on G's. Thanks for clarifying. :)
  • sewellgsmsewellgsm Member Posts: 775
Only if he goes on the lease with you. I would not advice that. With the residuals as high as they are and the tax credits - you are still getting a lot of car for the money. :)
  • amtususaamtususa Member Posts: 4
What is this tax credit in Texas? We bought a G this month but was not offered any credits. I understand we can still file with our tax returns next year.
    Thanks!

    Hi,

I got several quotes from dealers for this car & its sees like they are all quoting around 34k. Out the door 38k.

    is this a good deal?

Do you think I should wait till End of yr sales?
  • heytrayheytray Member Posts: 14
After searching inventory and speaking to a few dealerships, I purchased a 2009 G-37 AWD nav/prem/sport,splash guards, platinum graphite/graphite. The car is beautiful. This is my third infinti. Msrp 42,520. I paid invoice plus 0% financing. Traded my 2005 g-35 in at the same time.
Now who wants to get some am-ex gift cards. You will not believe this, but I actually received this promotion and threw it away.
  • sewellgsmsewellgsm Member Posts: 775
It is only if you lease. When you lease, you never actually own the vehicle - IFS does. They have all these lease turn ins that they have tax credits on - so every now and then they release the tax credits to customers (when they lease).
  • sewellgsmsewellgsm Member Posts: 775
lklee1 - $34k sounds good; however, $38k out the door seems high? What state are you in and what is the sales tax there? :confuse:
