msrp $41,730
agreed price $34,028 excluding tax/title/etc
Financing I'd have to look outside bank because dealer can only do the Incentive or NMAC 3.9 for 72 months no both.
When we shopped and then leased our G, they were mush more aggressive. In NY there is also a capped dealer fee of roughly $45 vs. the $299 or better CT conveyance fee.
How do you like the car? How is the gas mileage? Which dealer or dealers in metro NY gave you the best price/sales experience?
thanks
Cost-$37,960

I was deciding between lease and buy, the break down was:
Lease - 39 Months 15k
Invoice - 39,300
Cost - $37,800
Monthly - $433
MF - 0.00125
Residual - 56%
Thanks!
Seemed like a pretty good deal to me.
Thanks.
Assuming you are talking about a sedan - there is $1000 available to the dealer which they can pass on to you if you lease. If you purchase - there is an additional $2500 for a total of $3500. So, ONLY the $1000 applies if you lease, but you get a great residual and therefore lower payments on the lease as well.
As for additional discount, there is around $3000 between MSRP and invoice, so if you can get down to invoice, then the additional $1000 you doing great - if you got $200 below invoice then the $1000 (so $1200 below invoice) your doing fantastic.
Remember, the money factor and trade-in weigh in just as importantly.
New to this board, thought I'd do my part and share the buying exxperience info.
09 G 37 X Premium package NJ
Sticker @ $39,300 paid 33,200 plus taxes and tags, etc.
Agreed to an "out the door" total price of 36K even.
I think this sounds pretty fair, whatdo you all think?
NJ has a huge sales tax unfortunately....
Picking the car up tomorrow, for the wife. Lakeside slate with stone interior.
Good luck to you all with this car, it seems like the perfect vehicle.
Thanks
Experience was excellent, knowledgable salesperson, no pressure. Easiest vehicle transaction I have experienced.
This was a cash deal so perhaps this made things easier, no trade, etc...
If you decide to use them please let me know because I think they have a referral program...
I am getting close to pulling the trigger on a 2009 G37x with Premium Package. 39 months at 15K/yr. 0 cap reduction for $400/month before ttl. Really hard to argue with paying $400 a month for a $40,000 car with no down payment. If I wind up getting this one, I'll post the details.
Thanks.
I got a similar car (yours + navigation) to about 419+ttl/month, no money down, but at only 10k / yr. so I think you are doing better than I did.
I paid the same price as you without the SPOILER, AWD, and INSURANCE. Thanks for the info you provided (I mentioned your purchase to the sales manager) I think it helped. The dealers in Florida would NOT give me the deal you got, so I walked. Here's the breakdown.
Vehicle price: 34432
Processing 399
Florida Tax 6%
Temp Tag 15
Dealer bus. lic. Tax 59
Thanks again.........Walt
Thanks for your help in advance, I'm in Southern California, planning on purchasing a 2010 G37 Journey, Nav, Prem, Wood Insert (love the new 2010 Maple!) tomorrow or Monday, I thought about a 2009 because of huge incentives but color combo I'm looking for isn't available and I really like facelift items like front end remodel, new maple wood, and updated navigation system. I contacted a couple dealers online and went into two dealerships, I have heard about the $3500-4500 off of invoice pricing for 2009 G37s talked about a bunch on here and have seen a couple people mention $1500 incentive on 2010 models. Without much negotiations, on a purchase, non-lease, I am getting offer from both dealers of model that meets my specs and color choice exactly (its in port and they'll trade for this model and get it here in a couple days) of invoice pricing minus $1500, so basically offer of $1500 under invoice (plus usuals of tax, license, doc fee of $55, no other dealer's fees added). Question for everybody out there is that both dealers agreed on this very quickly, so i'm wondering if I could do a bunch better on a 2010.
Any thoughts or purchase experience in last couple weeks?
Thanks again!
TG
I took my G37X on Dec 29th, 09. (Part of purposes to be eligible for tax deductible that buying a new car in 2009)
Since then, haven't got a chance to share my buying and paid experience until today.
I did all researches and tons of homeworks and picked up my car in Legacy Infiniti, NY. (In all NY dealerships, only they have the car with the color and package in stock i want, i don't like to waste my time waiting for car to transfer).
Of course, thanks for all the information here provided by everyone to save tons of money.
My car:
09 G37X with Premium, blue slate exterior, black interior with wood trim, splash guard, cargo mat, trunk mat and net.
MSRP: $39,780
Invoice: $35,500
Dealed price:$33,000 +TTL
I added tinted window on my own cost $200 (They said their cost is $274, who knows?)
Total: $33,200 + TTL
OTD: $36,450 (Paid in cash, no financial hassels)
I know i could have done better, but i thought it's acceptable to me and didn't want to see too many EXTRA FEES added by finance dept if a dealed price is too low!
By the way, to the people in NY, plz beware of "Infiniti of Manhasset". I stopped by there once for looking up the car and they really all suck no matter at inventory or sales service. They just try to rip off everyone with old-fasion aggressive and cheating tactics. They really got EXTREMELY BAD REPUTATION in the market and in a lot of other forums. Even though they know you've done all researchs and no matter how you are prepared, they still treat everyone as a moron, how dare they???
Do yourself a favor, stay away from them!!!!!
(Truely hoping this experience will help someone avoid tragedies)
Thanks, i do enjor and love my new car.
I have been wondering why infiniti allows such a bad dealership ruin their reputation and do business in that unbelievable way. They are just like the STEREOTYPE CAR DEALER! Or it's a stratedy that infiniti lets other dealerships take all manhasset's businesses cuz 99% of the customers walked away by being pissed off so badly. Or infiniti of manhasset just try to take big advantage of the people out there cuz a big portion of the people there are kinda rich (long island in NY)
Including myself, there have been three cases happend around me regarding to their dirty tactics.
Legacy told me they did have a lot of customers who had visited manhasset before and they were tough to deal, tricky like a fox!
To me Infiniti is struggling to be like Lexus, but they are run like Nissan. However, true luxury brands rarely "cheap" sell their vehicles - they don't have to. Customers truly pay more for that Lexus badge - therefore the dealers make more on each car, which means they bend over backwards at all cost to keep their customers happy. When customers only have to pay invoice (or around there) minus all incentives to get a car, the dealer has to become "creative" or tricky to make a profit. They make it on the trade, or doc fees, or financing. It is a terrible cycle and if they don't get the deal they don't care that much because they were not making much or anything anyway. Not defending anyone here, just giving my perception of why it happens.
Many of you don't believe me when I give you our averages when it comes to prices paid, because they seem high - but what I post here is fact. We do get folks to pay a little more on the price, because we are fair on the other factors as well as provide great service. So, we finished #2 in the Nation and made more per vehicle sold - AND our customers are happy. The other dealers made money too - they just hide where they make it.
Check out "Customers For Life" by Carl Sewell this book is required reading at many colleges - he has sold millions of copies and is a simple straight forward approach to selling (in our case automobiles). Many dealers do copy our strategy hopefully one day the Manhassets of the World will not exist as they do today. But that will be up to you - the consumer.
Infiniti of Manhasset used all those high pressure sales tactics on me even though I explained to them that I had a few weeks to decide, I leased several cars before, I know how lease payments are calculated, etc but they still treated me like an idiot. They even used some of those "four square" sales tactics that I recently read about in an article. I made the mistake of going to them for the test drive since they were the closest dealer to me. They tried to push me into a car that didn't have all the options I wanted and they said "oh you can't a G37x with both technology and sport packages, it's either one or the other" which I knew wasn't true. Then they tried to negotiate based on monthly payment but I had to explain tothem that I wasn't going to negotiate based on a monthly payment amount and that I wanted to negotiate the price because that's the way you're supposed to negotiate a lease deal. Finally I got fed up with all their tactics that I had to put the Infiniti of Manhasset salesman in his place. I told him that I got offered much better deals via email with dealers that I hadn't even met than he gave me in person.
If you're only on the market to turn over as many vehicles as you can, it will be much harder to do if you're not offering good customer experiences and support, than if you do provide those things.
The only corelation between the price paid for the vehicle and good experience/customer service, is the decision of the dealership to provide it. Great price and good customer service/experience certainly aren't mutually exclusive
