I am talking to a few dealers now about a lease. Is there still a $1K incentive/rebate?

  • easpnoy78easpnoy78 Member Posts: 4
I was just on the phone with a CT dealer and here's what he quoted me on:

    2009 G37 AWD
    -Premium
    -Nav
    -Illuminated kick plates
    -splash guards
    -cargo net
    -capeted flr mats

    msrp $41,730
    agreed price $34,028 excluding tax/title/etc

Financing I'd have to look outside bank because dealer can only do the Incentive or NMAC 3.9 for 72 months no both.

jbrady - Yes, if you lease - the dealer gets $1000 Sell Down cash they can pass along to you if they want.

If you're in southern CT, do yourself a favor and look into NY dealerships such as White Plains.

When we shopped and then leased our G, they were mush more aggressive. In NY there is also a capped dealer fee of roughly $45 vs. the $299 or better CT conveyance fee.

I received my AmEx incentive card yesterday. Request submitted 19-Oct. Card received 11-Jan.

Does anyone know what Infiniti Financial is offering for January [MF and residual] on these vehicles? I'm trying to decide on an '09 or '10 G37 with Premium/Nav. I'm thinking the standard 39 mos with first and fees paid at time of lease agreement. I've talked to two different dealers but can't seem to get prices comparable to what others have been offered on this site.

What price should I be shooting for on both of these vehicles [in Houston, Texas}?

    Thanks

You really need to provide the selling price for people to evaluate your deal. The sticker is not the selling price.

I got the quote from the dealer in OH for 2009 G37x with Premium Package as 33500 excluding tax, title, etc on 3.55% APR. Do you guys think this as a good deal?

Local dealership offered me 2009 g37 journey with premium/nav for 34,400 before taxes etc. He said msrp was 43,500. Seems like a good deal, except it was his first offer... which makes me seem skeptical. Is there any reason to try to negotiate further?

    Thanks!

what was total out of pocket for that monthy of $433?
  • swinginfriarswinginfriar Member Posts: 2
Ended up getting a 2009 g37 coupe with premium, navigation, and illuminated kick plates for $33,800 before tax/license in the Los Angeles area.

Seemed like a pretty good deal to me.

Used the multiple security deposit method so it would have been 6250 out of pocket and I would get 4500 back at the end of the lease
  • htjnkyiahtjnkyia Member Posts: 4
Can someone clarify the discounts available on a 2009 G37x lease? What should I be paying for captial cost in relation to invoice? I understand there is $1000 cash to dealer for leasing, so does the $3500 not apply to a lease? I have seen a few advertised specials where the cap cost appear to be about $1200 below invoice. Would that most like be applying the $1000 already or should I press for and additonal $1000 reduction?

    Thanks.
  • sewellgsmsewellgsm Member Posts: 775
htjnkyia - generally good to go back a page or two and read previous post...

Assuming you are talking about a sedan - there is $1000 available to the dealer which they can pass on to you if you lease. If you purchase - there is an additional $2500 for a total of $3500. So, ONLY the $1000 applies if you lease, but you get a great residual and therefore lower payments on the lease as well.

As for additional discount, there is around $3000 between MSRP and invoice, so if you can get down to invoice, then the additional $1000 you doing great - if you got $200 below invoice then the $1000 (so $1200 below invoice) your doing fantastic.

Remember, the money factor and trade-in weigh in just as importantly. :)

    Hi Folks,
New to this board, thought I'd do my part and share the buying exxperience info.

    09 G 37 X Premium package NJ
Sticker @ $39,300 paid 33,200 plus taxes and tags, etc.
Agreed to an "out the door" total price of 36K even.

I think this sounds pretty fair, whatdo you all think?
NJ has a huge sales tax unfortunately....

Picking the car up tomorrow, for the wife. Lakeside slate with stone interior.
Good luck to you all with this car, it seems like the perfect vehicle.
  • rxkerxke Member Posts: 168
Congrats on the car. I am interested in a 2009 G37X sedan. What dealer did you use and what was the experience like? I live in Westchester county (NY)
    Thanks
  • dave279dave279 Member Posts: 2
    Circle Infiniti in Long Branch.

Experience was excellent, knowledgable salesperson, no pressure. Easiest vehicle transaction I have experienced.

This was a cash deal so perhaps this made things easier, no trade, etc...

If you decide to use them please let me know because I think they have a referral program...

    Thanks for the info Sewellgsm.

I am getting close to pulling the trigger on a 2009 G37x with Premium Package. 39 months at 15K/yr. 0 cap reduction for $400/month before ttl. Really hard to argue with paying $400 a month for a $40,000 car with no down payment. If I wind up getting this one, I'll post the details.

    Thanks.
  • millwood0millwood0 Member Posts: 451
that's a very good price, sewellgsm. the general rule of thumb is that if your monthly lease payment is 1% of the msrp, you are doing very well.

I got a similar car (yours + navigation) to about 419+ttl/month, no money down, but at only 10k / yr. so I think you are doing better than I did.

Hi: I posted a week or so ago about your Infiniti purchase. I contacted Tyson Infiniti and was able to get a 2009 G-37 Coupe RWD, PREMIUM, and NAV. They did not have what I wanted, but located a car in Montgomery, AL. I wanted white with wheat interior. They are going to try to ship the car to Florida so I won't have to fly all the way up to Virginia, and drive it back.

I paid the same price as you without the SPOILER, AWD, and INSURANCE. Thanks for the info you provided (I mentioned your purchase to the sales manager) I think it helped. The dealers in Florida would NOT give me the deal you got, so I walked. Here's the breakdown.
    Vehicle price: 34432
    Processing 399
    Florida Tax 6%
    Temp Tag 15
    Dealer bus. lic. Tax 59

    Thanks again.........Walt

    Hi Guys,

Thanks for your help in advance, I'm in Southern California, planning on purchasing a 2010 G37 Journey, Nav, Prem, Wood Insert (love the new 2010 Maple!) tomorrow or Monday, I thought about a 2009 because of huge incentives but color combo I'm looking for isn't available and I really like facelift items like front end remodel, new maple wood, and updated navigation system. I contacted a couple dealers online and went into two dealerships, I have heard about the $3500-4500 off of invoice pricing for 2009 G37s talked about a bunch on here and have seen a couple people mention $1500 incentive on 2010 models. Without much negotiations, on a purchase, non-lease, I am getting offer from both dealers of model that meets my specs and color choice exactly (its in port and they'll trade for this model and get it here in a couple days) of invoice pricing minus $1500, so basically offer of $1500 under invoice (plus usuals of tax, license, doc fee of $55, no other dealer's fees added). Question for everybody out there is that both dealers agreed on this very quickly, so i'm wondering if I could do a bunch better on a 2010.
Any thoughts or purchase experience in last couple weeks?

    Thanks again!
    TG

I also live in SoCal. I just checked Edmunds' TMV, and it showed only around $800 under MSRP. Of course, Edmunds TMV is always higher than actual market price, especially given the $2,000 dealer cash from Infiniti (per SewellGSM, if memory serves me right). Carsdirect's price is right about at invoice. So, $1,500 under invoice is really great deal for a 2010 G37 sedan at this time. That's about $4,500 to $5,000 discount from MSRP. Do you mind sharing which dealers give you this quote?

I think you got a very good deal. My experience was much was the same. 2009 G37x, premium, purchased on 1/3/10 for $32,800 plus taxes and tags. I live in Albany, NY. I love the car. Only complaint: while I certainly didn't buy it for its fuel efficiency, thus far it's worse than advertised in that department. In in-town, stop-and-go traffic, I'm averaging 14 mpg, which is disappointing.
  • dat2dat2 Member Posts: 251
Your mpg will improve once you get a few thousand miles on the clock. You should be getting at least the EPA values!
  • goshawkgoshawk Member Posts: 4
Should "Invoice (options inclucluded)+Dest+Advertising-Rebate" minimum allowable apply to the first 2010's off the truck? or should I be happy with a couple hundred under invoice on a fresh off the truck 2010?

    Hi Folks,

I took my G37X on Dec 29th, 09. (Part of purposes to be eligible for tax deductible that buying a new car in 2009)
Since then, haven't got a chance to share my buying and paid experience until today.

I did all researches and tons of homeworks and picked up my car in Legacy Infiniti, NY. (In all NY dealerships, only they have the car with the color and package in stock i want, i don't like to waste my time waiting for car to transfer).
Of course, thanks for all the information here provided by everyone to save tons of money.

    My car:
09 G37X with Premium, blue slate exterior, black interior with wood trim, splash guard, cargo mat, trunk mat and net.
    MSRP: $39,780
    Invoice: $35,500
    Dealed price:$33,000 +TTL
I added tinted window on my own cost $200 (They said their cost is $274, who knows?)
    Total: $33,200 + TTL
OTD: $36,450 (Paid in cash, no financial hassels)

I know i could have done better, but i thought it's acceptable to me and didn't want to see too many EXTRA FEES added by finance dept if a dealed price is too low!

By the way, to the people in NY, plz beware of "Infiniti of Manhasset". I stopped by there once for looking up the car and they really all suck no matter at inventory or sales service. They just try to rip off everyone with old-fasion aggressive and cheating tactics. They really got EXTREMELY BAD REPUTATION in the market and in a lot of other forums. Even though they know you've done all researchs and no matter how you are prepared, they still treat everyone as a moron, how dare they???

Do yourself a favor, stay away from them!!!!!

(Truely hoping this experience will help someone avoid tragedies)
  • hparmarhparmar Member Posts: 4
I am replying to marcofan78 post. I had the exact same treatment by Infiniti of Manhasset. Such scumbags...they use all the tactics you read about online that are used by shady dealers. They really think ppl are stupid. They got me so pissed off that i was seriously not going to by an infinity. I bought mine from Legacy as well in oct09 for around $500 under invoice with the 0%apr for 3 yrs. I was so tired of these dealers but Legacy did not waste my time. anyways i hope you enjoy the car.
  • marcofan78marcofan78 Member Posts: 7
    Replying to hparmar post.
Thanks, i do enjor and love my new car.

I have been wondering why infiniti allows such a bad dealership ruin their reputation and do business in that unbelievable way. They are just like the STEREOTYPE CAR DEALER! Or it's a stratedy that infiniti lets other dealerships take all manhasset's businesses cuz 99% of the customers walked away by being pissed off so badly. Or infiniti of manhasset just try to take big advantage of the people out there cuz a big portion of the people there are kinda rich (long island in NY)

Including myself, there have been three cases happend around me regarding to their dirty tactics.

Legacy told me they did have a lot of customers who had visited manhasset before and they were tough to deal, tricky like a fox!
  • sewellgsmsewellgsm Member Posts: 775
Sad thing is Infiniti of Manhasset has finished #3 in the Nation in 2008 & 2009. So, I'm sure Infiniti turns a blind eye since overall since they are successful.

To me Infiniti is struggling to be like Lexus, but they are run like Nissan. However, true luxury brands rarely "cheap" sell their vehicles - they don't have to. Customers truly pay more for that Lexus badge - therefore the dealers make more on each car, which means they bend over backwards at all cost to keep their customers happy. When customers only have to pay invoice (or around there) minus all incentives to get a car, the dealer has to become "creative" or tricky to make a profit. They make it on the trade, or doc fees, or financing. It is a terrible cycle and if they don't get the deal they don't care that much because they were not making much or anything anyway. Not defending anyone here, just giving my perception of why it happens.

Many of you don't believe me when I give you our averages when it comes to prices paid, because they seem high - but what I post here is fact. We do get folks to pay a little more on the price, because we are fair on the other factors as well as provide great service. So, we finished #2 in the Nation and made more per vehicle sold - AND our customers are happy. The other dealers made money too - they just hide where they make it.

Check out "Customers For Life" by Carl Sewell this book is required reading at many colleges - he has sold millions of copies and is a simple straight forward approach to selling (in our case automobiles). Many dealers do copy our strategy hopefully one day the Manhassets of the World will not exist as they do today. But that will be up to you - the consumer.

I also have to agree with marcofan78 about Legacy Infiniti and Infiniti of Manhasset. I leased my loaded 2009 Infiniti G37xS (premium, navigation, technology, sport packages) from Legacy Infiniti back in April 2009 and I got it for $500 under invoice (like hparmar did) and I was pretty happy with my experience there.

Infiniti of Manhasset used all those high pressure sales tactics on me even though I explained to them that I had a few weeks to decide, I leased several cars before, I know how lease payments are calculated, etc but they still treated me like an idiot. They even used some of those "four square" sales tactics that I recently read about in an article. I made the mistake of going to them for the test drive since they were the closest dealer to me. They tried to push me into a car that didn't have all the options I wanted and they said "oh you can't a G37x with both technology and sport packages, it's either one or the other" which I knew wasn't true. Then they tried to negotiate based on monthly payment but I had to explain tothem that I wasn't going to negotiate based on a monthly payment amount and that I wanted to negotiate the price because that's the way you're supposed to negotiate a lease deal. Finally I got fed up with all their tactics that I had to put the Infiniti of Manhasset salesman in his place. I told him that I got offered much better deals via email with dealers that I hadn't even met than he gave me in person.

They do it cause they can. How does the median income in the surrounding area correlate to the rest of LI it is probably double it. They don't have to deal with the stragglers that find their way to manhasset shopping a deal. I can say I wasn't treated horribly in Manhasset just could never get anyone to return my calls or say they chose not to compete after my visit. Get over it, Competition in Suffolk and Legacy in Nassau are very viable competitive dealerships. After visiting Manhasset there was nothing impressive that made me want to come back. I purchased from competition after shopping at all three

sewell...again, thanks for the input. Truth told, I believe trying to hold margin, regardless of brand or model, is very difficult to do. BMW can't. Infiniti can't. Acura can't. Audi can't. Looking at Mercedes, they'll discount the daylights out of those these days.

If you're only on the market to turn over as many vehicles as you can, it will be much harder to do if you're not offering good customer experiences and support, than if you do provide those things.

The only corelation between the price paid for the vehicle and good experience/customer service, is the decision of the dealership to provide it. Great price and good customer service/experience certainly aren't mutually exclusive
