Nah, I doubt you will see anything on carfax. Accident is reported only when police are involved. Carafax is only about 50% reliable, imo.
You can look at the trunk pan. If there's no damage, the impact is very light. The damage might be from a small bump when they move the car around.
However, if it makes you sleep better, you should spend the $20 for the report anyways.
It will be more reliable to ask the body shop to check for any sign of accident or hidden damages while you are there getting estimate to repair what is obvious and hopefully the only cosmetic blemish on the car.
We don't have any 2010 6mt coupes right now... in fact there is none in the entire state of FL. In fact when I did a search earlier today I only found 32 in the entire country. Not sure why there hasn't been many released yet... if it were the Sedan I could understand, but not the coupe as the 6mt coupe is far more popular than the 6mt Sedan. Just got a nice 08 6MT Coupe in with only 13K miles with prm&nav.
I'd love to help get you a good deal, just need the inventory to do it.
Thanks!
39 months/10k a year
Sedan 6mt w/nav
480 a month including tax
First month +DMV due at signing
Was just hoping what everyone thought would be a fair price to pay for either of these? What should I begin the negotiations at? I have great credit, so I am open to using their financing package or my banks, whichever is better. I am also looking to put around 10-12K down.
Any advice would be great, this is the first car I am actually buying since college so I am still reading and learning but from what I am reading here dealerships make a lot on used cars.
Thanks
BMW's current $2,500 customer cash promotion really makes the 3-series very competitive in price, not to mention the car itself. If you really like G37x over 328ix, give the dealer another chance (or try other dealer) by telling them point blank: beat the $38k Bimmer price or lose your business. If you like 328ix better than G37x or even just indifferent, then it is a no brainer at the prices you've been quoted for the similarly equipped cars.
0.9% APR + $2,500 Spring Drive Credit
I have good credit, and was thinking of going for the special 0% APR in lieu of the cash back, but is it unreasonable to expect the negotiated price to include the 1.5% dealer holdback or the $500 dealer cash that can be used with the 0%? Is it unrealistic and a waste of time at this point in the model year to try for invoice less these two incentives (approximately -$1000?). I know what the TMV on the car is for my region, but based on what I've read I don't really want to use that as my barometer on a 'good deal.'
Basically I'm wondering if I'm asking for too much at this point, and should a more reasonable price fall somewhere between invoice and TMV?
Thanks in advance.
That will give you the actual selling prices in your area. At least you'll get a good understanding of what the market is and pricing is like in your area.
I am looking for a G37 Base sedan, as it has all the features I really need (and doesn't have some features I deliberately avoid, such as moonroof). However, this car is extremely hard to come buy. It seems like a "virtual car", created just to justify the low "from" price for G37... Is there a way to search all the dealers nationally to find out who has it? Can I order it through any dealership?
Thanks!
Alex
The dealers in this area (Seattle) don't compete in price as compare to other areas. The same goes for the one in Portland. I've read somewhere that the 3 dealers here are of the same owner so they kind of play the monopoly game. I've read a few on this same forums with problems negotiating good prices compare to what people mentioned here. I ended up ordering from another state and shipped in. Still cheaper than buying local. A few others on here have done the same.
I also went the Bimmer route, almost cut the check but test drove the G37x again and the lack of power on the 328ix, the small trunk (had a hard time fitting my golf bag), the cheap looking dash and the almost but not keyless engine start kills the deal for me with the Bimmer.
The Base G Sedan is a hard car to find as Infiniti only produces a small amount of them a year. I work for Infiniti of Tampa & we have 4 Base G 2010 G Sedans in stock... currently running an ad in the paper for $29,995 +tax, tag&fees. I think the colors we have are Black, White, Smoky Quartz & not sure about the other color. For the 09 models I think we had a total of 7 the whole year. Where do you live? Unless you want to come to Tampa, I could look to see if there are any near you.
I live in Virginia, so Tampa is a little too far from me.
Could you see anything in PA, MD, DC, VA or NC?
Alex

Reading this forum definitely helped in the negotiations. Do your homework and you'll definitely save some cash. I hope this information helps in your negotiations.
Your right on the money for there not being any BASE G Sedans... I found only 1 in the area you gave me. There is 1 at Lake Norman Infiniti in NC. Just a thought, but if you wanted we could arrange for the vehicle to be shipped to you instead of you having to come down here. Also, I did a check for incoming cars next month and there is a few more coming in the areas you mentioned.
I appreciate your help!
Could you please let me know who's getting Base Sedans soon in VA & MD ?
Thanks!
Alex
What break in period? I just let her rip. Eventually, it will get broken in. I put 1000 miles on it in a week. :shades:
Regarding 328xi, its a nice car but feels smallish esp in rear seats. I am not a fan of G37's trunk either b'cos its much smaller than my current Audi S4 (2005.5) and I was expecting it to be bit bigger. Other than that, G37 seems to be a good car, rest we'll see how it does on long term, My Audi's been 6 months out of warranty and has started breaking down already, just spent $2500. You know how reliable these German cars are.....not at all....doesn't matter how many LED lights they have, they drive the best but they are pain in the butt to maintain after warranty period expires....feel my anger...lol....!
Thanks...!
who is the dealer selling the 2010 G37 Journey Sedan with Prem for 29k ?
thanks
pav
Ouch! I feel your pain. That's why I wouldn't take even one-day of risk owning a German car without warranty.
The money factor for 36 months is .00202 but they are quoting me .00227 for 39 months. Are they trying to make a profit or does it go up for 39 months?
Also, the cap cost is under invoice which has me confused. Is there a rebate that I don't know about?
MSRP $43,205
39month lease with 18k miles/year
$39,102 cap cost
money factor is .00227
$0 cash due @ signing
payment is $587 tax included
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you... here are the other dealers in the area you gave me to look that are getting Base 2010 G Sedans in the month of April.
Infiniti of Willow Grove (1): They are just outside the Philly area. My Internet Director who has been with us for a year used to work there for a few years.
Infiniti of Charlotte (2)
Crossroads Infiniti (3): They're located in Raleigh NC.
Hope this helps!
Too bad your location is out of my reach
Alex
Cheers...!
I'm also in the Bay Area and recently bought essentially the same car you're looking for - 2010 G37 Journey w/Premium (no nav) with a few small extras (eg. trunk mat and net). I contacted several dealers in the area and the lowest initial price I got was $33K+TTL. I paid cash, so this included the $1500 dealer cash, which you'd have to add to the price to get the 0% financing. All three dealers I spoke to were willing to match or beat the price. I ended up at $32,900+TTL and went with Beshoff, since they were pleasant to deal with and had the largest selection.
The car's been great so far (over the first 450 miles). One thing I'd love to get some opinions on (especially from the dealers on the board) - there is slight burning smell outside the car whenever I park and get out. It disipates quickly and I never smell it inside the car. The dealer and other comments I've seen online say this is normal burnoff of coatings on some new components. I'm curious at what point folks think I should have it check out if it hasn't gone away.
Will go away around 1K miles
The thing about the smell is actually talked in the owner's manual
The dealer said it happens with all the G37 engines. Anyone else?
