Was wondering if $30,850 was a good price to pay for a 2008 G37S with nav, premium, tech pack. Vehicle is in excellent shape with only 17,000 miles. Buying vehicle over the interned and the sales rep will not budge with the price. Really don't need a car until the end of May so i was thinking to wait but did not want an opportunity to pass by. Thanks

$30,850 for a 2008 G37S with nav, premium, tech pack is high. USAA Car Buying Service indicates for my area a price as low as $35,049 for 2010 G37 Sport 6MT with Navi. $4,199 depreciation in 2 yrs? Don't think so. Asking price for 2008 model doesn't reflect current discounts & incentives for new vehicles. Better to buy new.

Are you sure you're looking at the same car. The MSRP of a 2010 G37S w/ Nav and Tech. is about 44,500. Your price is about 10K under MSRP or 6K under invoice.

To jsjsmith13, 31K for that car is a little high. 28-29k + TTL is a good deal. That's about 10K saving in 2 years assuming that a new 2010 is about 38.5K.

The MSRP on the Infiniti website for a 2010 G37 Sport 6MT with Navi is $39,715 (includes destination & handling of $865). So, $35,049 from USAA is a discount of $4,666.

Interestingly, if you equip the Journey with Premium, Sport, & Navi packages, the MSRP is $41,415 and the USAA lowest price in my area is $36,381. You can make the Journey more expensive with technology package, etc.

I have a 2010 G37 Sport 6MT with Navi on order with the dealer who is closest to me for $35,349. Overall, a great price for a great sport sedan. Good time to buy.

I think you bought a sedan not a COUPE and the Tech package is another $1,150.

MSRP=44,265 for a S + Tech + Nav. Add floor mat, carpet trunk mat, and splash guards = 44,630

Thanks, i was thinking the same thing. Sometimes when you find the right car with all the toys you want you stop thinking with your head. Appreciate the advice. Any hints on how i can lower this guys price?

Whoops. You're right, I was talking about the sedan, not the coupe. I guess I had better learn to read.

Well, you already talked to them, it might be too late. When I go to buy a car, I tell them right away that I don't need to buy a car today if I don't get the price I want.

I think you should try to print out several ads in your area and take them w/ you when you go to see any cars. It's just away to show them that if they don't try to make a deal now, you might buy from another dealer today.

BTW, is this CPO? If it's a CPO, 31k might not be too bad.
  • m6userm6user Member Posts: 3,181
Infiniti has a very good CPO program on paper. Why do so few Infiniti dealers offer CPO cars? Maybe they do but very few are advertised that way.
  • jsjsmith13jsjsmith13 Member Posts: 5
    gooddeal2,

I wish it was a CPO....I think I would have taken the car if it was. Looking at what a 2010 G37S with nav, prem and spoiler will cost me and seeing if the difference is worth purchasing new. I thought we were in a recession and l could get a good used car for cheap. I hate the hassle of buying a car, so much stress in trying to get a good deal. Thanks

I just went to my local infiniti dealers and made a deal for a 2010 G37S (Journey) Sedan with Navi,Premium,Sports,Illum. Kickplates, etc.. MSRP 42,090. I had a VPP code and they finally gave me a price of 35,600+TTL and threw in window tint and 2yr basic mantainance. So according to my numbers it is around 3K under invoice, not sure if I could do any better than that. I told them I was going to the dealership on the Northside and they took another 1K off if I made the deal right then. Not sure if I could have gotten a better deal or not at the other dealership. As for misc fees all I saw was a Doc fee of $150 which is avg and a Taxable AMO's fee of $295, not sure what that is. Eitherway I think I got a very good price.

Is there any way I can get a 2010 G37 base for under 30,000+ TTL in the NY area? What about a G37 Journey? Thanks!
  • gooddeal2gooddeal2 Member Posts: 750
Yeb, I think it's very good price as well even w/ those fees.

You should be able to get a BASE sedan right under 30k +TTL. The problem is I don't think you can find one especially in the NE unless you want to do a special order.

I don't even think you can find a base Journey in the NE. You probably can find a 2009 Base X w/ sunroof for about 31k + TTL.

USAA has a great program, but it has two holes.

One - it gives a "Target Price" which is an average of what dealers (like us) tell USAA we will sell the vehicles to their customers for. It is not an exact price.

Two - there are always a couple options on the vehicles that are not on the USAA website, usually tint or something - many customers want that stuff for free - but the price is already so good, there is no room to throw anything in.

Overall - we love it. :D
  • sewellgsmsewellgsm Member Posts: 775
It is strange to me too - we love the program! Many dealers don't want to meet the criteria, they just want to detail the vehicle, change the oil and put it on the front-line. CPO - the dealer must spend much more on the vehicle.
Many dealers just as well sell some other extended warranty, which they make much more money on than the $895 that the CPO cost (100k warranty of $895, can't beat it, but dealers don't make any money on it).

Still we love it - helps us sell more pre-owned, so therefore, we trade for more and sell more new! Guess that is why we lead the country in sales! :D
  • m6userm6user Member Posts: 3,181
Exactly. Since used cars is where the real money is I would think that CPO would be very good for business. Acura and Lexus sure use it. I think every dealer of those two has CPO cars. Infiniti is almost rare. Pull up a 100 used Gs up on cars.com and maybe 1 is CPO. IMO most customers would expect to pay around 1k more for a CPO and I would think it would help turn the cars faster. I would think it would also generate some more routine maint. business.

Do dealers eat all repairs or are they reimbursed by Infiniti or is there some kind of cost sharing arrangement?

Today we walked away from this deal after visiting two dealers:

$38,000 out of door price (VA, tax I think is 3.17%) for a G37x, Premiun, Nav, Wood trim, and 0% financing for 36 months. The difference was not too much, the manager wants $38,485, and we wanted $38,000. Since we are not in a hurry for ths car, and we were hungry, so we walked away.

My price puts the car at around $34,090,82 with processing fee at $399, $1500 for 0% financing, freight $865, TTL $64.5. What do you guys think about this price?
  • jsjsmith13jsjsmith13 Member Posts: 5
    billpaul,

Saw this from a dealership in Va and was wondering if this is the going rate for a new 2009 Infiniti G37x coup with AWD NAV / PRM / CGO / IKP / SP2 Coupe. $36,260 seems to good a good price but will still try and lower him down to $35,000. What are your or anyone else's thought on this.

    Sewellgsm,

Thank you for your dealer insights.

Obviously, a dealer will not agree to a price unless they are making an adequate profit. Still, I am not sure I understand why dealers might "love" arrangements with a car purchasing program such as USAA. Wouldn't you prefer someone who is negotiating on their own & perhaps out of ignorance or inexperience is willing to pay a higher price, or are these folks relatively rare?

In my case, I had never considered the G37 sedan because the listed MSRP was well outside the range of what I am normally willing to pay for a car. That changed when I discovered the discounts on the USAA website. Maybe your point is that such a car buying service brings in people who otherwise would never have made a purchase?

USAA usually lists 2 or more dealers, each with a different price, so it would seem they are not indicating a common average price. My car will be delivered in the next couple of weeks, so I will find out shortly whether my dealer will stick to the the USAA price.

Agree that I am unlikely to have significant items thrown if for free. That's OK. I don't really have much to add.

If you can get this car $38,000 OTD, more power to you. However, I think $38,485 is already a pretty darn good deal. Keep in mind, the deal cash for 0% financing is only $500, not $1,500 which is in lieu of special rate financing. So, taking that into consideration, the dealer's offer is about $1,000 below invoice.

I am looking to trade my 2007 g35x nav prem 47k miles for a 2010 g37x with sport package premium nav and splash guards for a total difference out the door with Connecticut sales tax of 15k financed at zero percent. Does anyone think it's possible. If not, I love my g35x and will just hold onto it.
    Thanks for the help

Any contemplation splitting hairs on a couple of hundred dollars on a deal for one of these time wasted... just took my 2010 around an undeveloped street with lots of tight 90 degree turns, amazing and worth ever damned penny, and more.

Wonder what happens when the stability control is turned off???

My advice, pull the trigger at or around invoice and smile.

Just an update, ended up getting the 2010 G37 sedan in graphite shadow w/ graphite interior and premium with impact sensors, trunk mat, net, and first aid for 33565 + fees, that's taking the 0% financing.

VPP = Nissan's Vehicle Purchase Program

    billpaul

We just want as many folks as possible to walk through the door or inquire about buying an Infiniti. Folks who use a car purchase program sometimes get frustrated, not because the number the dealer quotes is not good but because it doesn't match exactly what their particular website quotes, so then they think something may be wrong. If they will read the fine print (we have to point it out most of the time) we get back on track to selling them a vehicle.

With 3 days to go in the month - here are some averages for you. Keep in mind these are averages, some paid more, some less. Some customers bought accessories, some didn't, etc.

46 G Sedans (most 2010) @ average of $524 under invoice (after using the $1500)
14 G Coupes (most 2010) @ average of $586 under invoice (after using the $1500)
9 G Convertibles @ average of $576 over invoice (after using the $1000)

Again, most deals I see posted on this forum are even better than these averages, which makes sense - since you are so well informed. :D

PS 46 G sedans leads the country.....
  • robjamellrobjamell Member Posts: 35
jrsmooth can you tell me the dealer name and or city in VA that you were getting this deal?

    Thanks
  • robjamellrobjamell Member Posts: 35
What is the highest percentage discount anyone has gotten NOT including the $1500 rebate.

For example, I am looking at 2010 g37x that has MSRP of $41830 and buying it for $37k. That is an 11.5% discount.

The reason I am saying NOT including $1500 rebate is because I am taking the zero percent financing.

    Thanks in advance.

how can you find the list of companies?

Hi, I got this offer from Passport Infiniti of Alexandria over the weekend, and took the deal today. If you do go, please ask for Yamil Abed, I am going to get a free T-Shirt or some sort from him for very customer I referred, just tell him "JR and his wife" referred you. Thanks and good luck!
  • jrsmoothjrsmooth Member Posts: 11
OK, so the salesperson Yamil Abed called us back after we walked away from the deal over a $485 difference, so we took the $37,000 OTD deal and took deliveried of the car today, so far, so good.

Base on the deal, the car is $35350.40, while MSRP is $41,830, which includes Premium Package ($2150), Navigation ($1850), Body-color splash guards ($170), Carpeted Trunk Mat ($105), Trunk Net ($60), First Aid Kit ($30), Interior Accent Package ($550).

I got the 2.59% 63-month financing. The rate was 2.99%, but I bought the 5-year, 75,000-mile all inclusive maintanence program (includes all oil changes and major maintanence) for $2600 (I know, I am a loser for taking it but I am lazy), so I got the 2.59% deal instead.

According to Nissan's VPP website, brother in-laws of someone who works at an affiliate company are eligible for the discount.

I have never done the VPP and wanted to make sure I was understanding this correctly. Also, is it a big hassle?

Also, is there currently a VPP discount on 2010 G37x sedan and if so, how much.

    Thanks
  • sewellgsmsewellgsm Member Posts: 775
VPP is easy IF you are eligible - set price from Infiniti - huge discount.

Usually there are four VPP plans. Plan A & B are for Infiniti/Nissan employees and their family. Plan C & D are for companies tied into business with Infiniti/Nissan. Plan C&D are good, but not as good as A&B.

However, Inf/Niss is running a special till the end of March - everyone (A-D) gets the A plan! So, get your VPP number from your brother-in-law and go get you a G.
  • jtlajtla Member Posts: 388

And act fast if you got only Plan C or D! That promotion of upgrading to Plan A pricing ends tomorrow, 3/31.

I am thinking of either getting the sport or the tire/wheel package on a 2010 G37x.

I am concerned that the ride quality & tire noise will suffer a bit. I see no mention of a suspension change with the sport or tire package. Can someone share their experiences?

Also, what is the "activation disclaimer" option?

Normally, I would only qualify for the C or D plan, but today I used the VPP B plan to get a leftover '09 coupe, w/ premium pkg. for $31.2K. OTD was something like $33.4k with 7% tax. MSRP was $40.7K.

    Easiest negotiation ever.
  • larrys8larrys8 Member Posts: 36
I am in the same position as you are. However my dealer claims they can't get a AWD with the wheel package, I would have to get the sport package. Frankly I would rather not get the sport package as I am concerend about the seats. I have not seen anyone isues regarding ride quality on the 18 wheels/tires.

    Good Luck!!

I am new to the forum, but I have read quite a few posts. In order of importance, I am trying to purchase any one of the following G37's in black:
    1) A 2010 convertible, with Nav, Tech, Premium and Sport package.
    2) AWD with Nav, Tech and Premium
    3) Journey with Nav, Tech and Premium
I live in Arizona and the dealers I have spoken with locayl apparently can not get any of these vehicles out West or basically anywhere. I am also shopping the 325i and the A5, but I am a techie type of guy and love what Infiniti offers, as we just replaced my wife's '05 FX35 with a '10 loaded FX 35. What is a guy to do? I don't really want to order one, but it looks like I either do that, or head to BMW and take the $2500 and other considerations for their vehicle. I don't seem to see any loyalty cash out there and I don't know anyone to get the VPP. Help...
  • sewellgsmsewellgsm Member Posts: 775
Order it - we will be ordering vehicles next week - takes 3 months to build and ship to US....
  • yohiyohi Member Posts: 3
Thanks for the advice and I believe that this may be the only option. I had hoped that the local dealers would be able to arrange to swap vehicles or purchase from another dealership. The automobiles that are currently available are like gold, at least right now.
  • gunshotwoundgunshotwound Member Posts: 2
Just FYI if you're shopping, made this deal on 3/31, with the use of the $1500 incentive. The salesman thought the April deals would be the same or possibly a little better. He thinks there are too many G37's in the pipeline right now, and prices will drop further, especially on base models. If the economy keeps inching out of the grave, that might not be true by summer. We'll see.
  • mrcrispymrcrispy Member Posts: 7
The 2007 model has the new interior, but it has 306 (vs 328) and 5At vs 7AT. It seems getting the new 2010's are going for 2-3k below invoice. Is buying a new one preferable? - taking into account any problems reported with old models, depreciation, resale value etc.
