I will let you know the build date. BTW, is it a reason for concern if the build date is very early, and car sits on the lot for a long time?
Back to the deal. From the deals people got last year, I predict that $2k below invoice is reachable around Octobor and November. But I still think it is justified to get it today at invoice rather than 6-7 months later at 2k lower, for three things:
- Based on the depreciation chart, the first year depreciation is around $5000 - which means that this car already depreciates its value by $2500 by waiting for half a year.
- There is good financial offer available at this time (1.9% and 2.9% depend on terms), and we don't know if it will come back in Oct and Nov.
- More important, I will have enjoyed my car for half a year by then!!!
Is it possible that dealers charge more for Title and License to pump up their profit? Are these two fees negotiatble? How much are fair for these two fees? I read in some posts that some dealers charge a couple of hundred bucks for "doc fee" - is "doc fee" the same as Title and License fee?
Thank you for your answer in advance. Please be kind if these questions are "stupid". I swear this is not the first new car I am buying; actually this is the third new car in last 5 years. But I did not pay attention to these "fees" before, and also did not find wonderful forums like this to get best offers.
****Back to the deal. From the deals people got last year, I predict that $2k below invoice is reachable around Octobor and November.****
It's not worth to get a year old car for 2k or even 3k below invoice if you can get an '06 for around invoice unless you plan to keep the car longer than (around) 6 years.
****I will let you know the build date. BTW, is it a reason for concern if the build date is very early, and car sits on the lot for a long time? ****
I would not worry about the build date as long as the miles are low (less than 50 miles?). The reason I ask about the build date I just want to see how fast the G35s are moving out from the lot.
However, the build date for G35 should a little older than the domestic cars, say Camry. G35 is build in Japan and need additional time to be shipped here.
For the fee...there should not be any BIG additional fee except your normal registration, plate, tires fee, notary...
There's a $55 for Doc Fee in PA which is common to all the dealers. If you see a charge like advertising fee, prep fee...those fees should not be there. Hope someone in your area can help you better.
Did the destination charge change at some point this year, not sure if I read that in past posts? My numbers have been right on with info from Edmunds as well as from "fighting chance" from what I've gotten at a dealer. But the $610 destination isn't matching. Any thoughts? Thanks, Val
After much research and a little haggling with two dealers, we finally settled on a Obsidian Black Coupe with Graphite Leather. It had the premium package, xm radio, splash guards & trunk mat. MSRP: $36240 Selling price(vpp): $33630 We leased it for 3yr/36 miles & got a money factor of 0.00236. Also got a good value on the trade-in. Wife is happy & loves the car, so far i am liking it a lot too. Only peeve so far is that bose display does not show mp3 tag info. But its not a big deal.
The local Infiniti dealer still has a number of new 2004 G35x AWD sedans on the lot and I'm interested in purchasing one. Given how far we are into the 2005 model year I would think that Infiniti would be providing some serious incentives to their dealers to move these cars out. Does anyone have incentives information for the 2004 models, rather than the 2005 models?
I notice people typically are getting several packages with their new G35s. Has anyone had any luck getting the base model? The invoice is in the mid 28K. I'd like to think I could grab a 2005 this summer for under 30K.
I was quoted $29,750 for base model w/ sunroof in Atlanta market. That was an Internet quote w/out any hard negotiations so you can prob due better. I'm going this week to see if I can get them to bring it down a bit. I'll update at that time.
A quote I just got day before yesterday in Westchester NY
I'm sure the nice gal who quoted this could help others...
The 2005 Infiniti G35 AWD sedan with the full Premium Package (MSRP $36,660) is what I worked up for you - 39 months, 12k/year. You would have $3,195 due at signing (7.5% sales tax, $795 bank fee, $450 refundable security deposit, first payment, and plates) and $435/month. This is all-inclusive and nothing else will be added to it...
Okay, I leased the G35 Sedan base model w/ sunroof today. The deal I got is below. I think it's a pretty fair deal and I would recommend Nalley Infiniti in Atlanta to anyone.
Anyway, I'd be more than happy to give more detail than is listed below if you need it:
39 mnth/15k miles - $478.93/mnth includes W&T plan Gross capitalized cost: $33,027 MSRP: $32,200 Negotiated Price: $29,877 Acquisition Fee: $550 Negative Trade-in: -$2600 (had a Hyundai Elantra GT) Wear & Tear Plan: $614
Upfront Cost: Total - $2000 Cap reduction (down payment) and tax: $902.93 and $63.21 First month payment: $478.93 Doc fee and Tax: $533.93 Title and Registration: $21.00
Need help on the latest price on the G35 sedan, premium pack C in north Cal and where is the best deal in the area. I seen in this forum ~ 31500+TTL? Thanks

:confuse: How much under invoice can I expect to pay if I can find a NEW 2004 G35 coupe on a dealer's lot? ...and the sedan? Everyone on here appears so knowledgeable and I'd appreciate your input.
I had made extensive use of this forum (and edmunds) in researching and learning about G35x, so its only fair that I post my experience
We wanted to replace my wife's '94 Honda Accord and she narrowed her choice down to Acura TL and G35x. We leaned towards G35x since I already have a TSX and she wanted an AWD. After looking at edmunds, this forum and some other sites, we decided upon a price for G35x -- the big unknown being the trade-in price for her Accord, an important factor for us in any deal.
Armed with this info we went to Salerno-Duane Infiniti in Denville, NJ (our first and only stop). We dealt with their Internet Department and got an appointment for 4:30 pm through their website. We took a test drive and stuff and really liked the car. The salesperson asked us that if he worked out a good number would we clinch a deal today (this being the last day of March)? We said yes.
To make a long story short: He made us an offer that was $1500 above invoice. We countered with $350 above invoice and our expected trade-in price. He came back with $400 above invoice with NO change in the trade-in and threw in a free trunk mat and one year's worth of service. The only condition was that we pay in full that same day (he told us that since it was the last day of March, they had to meet their numbers, whatever ...). Since no financing was involved, we took it and that was it! There was no haggling and the salesperson was not pushy at all (in fact he was a bit too laid back). He didn't have the combo we wanted in stock but he was able to ultimately find one at another dealer for no additonal charge.
We took delivery this week and it is indeed a great car!
So, here are the details: 2005 G35x Twilight blue/Stone sunroof (NO premium package) trunk mat $31900 + TTL
I just got an email from my local dealer and the 1.9% and 2.9% financing has been extended through May 3rd. Still not updated at Infiniti's site, however.
For which particular model is this and which year? I am thinking of getting a 2005 Coupe with manual tranny and would like to know if this special financing applies to it.
I went to Glendale Infiniti yesterday and immediately asked for the Fleet or Internet Mgr.. I went at night when there is little foot traffic and this is the quote I got:
2005 G35 Sedan Diamond Graphite/Stone Premium package C Navigation Sunroof 18" Wheels
The Works $34,385 + Tax + fees = $37,550 Out the Door I believe that's invoice. The Mgr. was very honest and said we have alot of these cars, and says he sells one a day and that volume for him is where it's at. Does anyone know if this is the best deal I could get?
Glendale, CA
By the way I test drove the car and it's rocked...
How much under invoice can I expect to pay if I can find a NEW 2004 G35 coupe on a dealer's lot? ...and the sedan? Everyone on here appears so knowledgeable and I'd appreciate your input.
Sounds like a terrific deal. I'm picking up a similar car this weekend for $750 over invoice, and am a happy camper. Can't wait to open it up on a back road somewhere!
Question - I've heard a few complaints about the premium Bose stereo not being all it should be. What is your impression?
The best place to ask questions about options, accessories, and other ownership experiences is in our regular Infiniti G35 Sedan discussion. We like to reserve this topic for talk about pricing and the actual experience of buying the vehicle, but owners will be glad to give you their opinions in the topic linked above.

Val, you're correct. Bad calculation on my part. Total cost was $33,641. I ended up putting ~$900 down as cap reduction and ~$1100 went for tags, taxes, and fees (total $2000). My monthly payments are $476, which I'm very happy with. W/out the excess wear and tear plan, payments would have been $460.
After spending hours looking at this forum and looking at EBAY prices for new and used G35s over the past nine months, I went to Infiniti of Raleigh on a Friday night to test drive the new 2005 G35 Coupe. I wasn't really ready or looking to buy especially b/c I wasn't willing to buy the car a a price close to the Edmund's TMV (for which in this area which was $650 off MSRP.) After a test drive, the salesman asked me what would it take to sell me this car (it had all the options I wanted 18" wheels, Prem Pack, trunk mat, splash guards in Charcoal ext/black int - with 9 miles on the odometer - SWEET) I promised myself that if he would go down to $1000 over invoice which is roughly $2,100 off MSRP I would do it. I was the only one in the whole showroom and I saw they had many coupes on the lot . He came down to $1,500 over, then $1,250, I held my guns and he came down to $1,000 over invoice + TAX,TTL and processing fee just under $36k out the door. I paid more for my wife's 2004 Pacifica. I also got 4.3% over 60 months when the going best rate for new cars at various low cost lending firms was 4.99%. No trade in here either!
Well I drove home in it and I look forward to going to work in the morning everyday -no matter what. The BOSE system plays my new Green Day cd like a dream and the car is quicker and tighter than the day before. Its pure FUN!!! Good Luck
The problem is that there are no incentives at all on the 2004 or 2005 G35 coupe. On a new 2004 sedan with minimal miles and a $2,000 incentive, I was able to negotiate $3,200 under invoice. Hope that helps.
Basically, it's like a $5000 insurance policy on the car at the end of your lease. If there are little dings in the paint, leather seats excessively worn, new tires needed, etc., it prevents having to pay all these types of fees on the back-end of the lease term. It made sense to me, but not something you have to have. Do some research on it and make sure it makes sense to you...it did for me.
Took delivery today on my new '05 G35x (premium "C", nav, etc. -- brilliant silver w/ stone interior).
So far everything looks great. Am happy with the stereo, despite some of the concerns others have raised. Sure, I've heard better, but it is still quite nice, and well worth the money.
I purchased through Pfeiffer Infiniti of Grand Rapids, MI. The entire process was a pleasure, no games, no pressure... just straightforward negotiation and a fair result. If the after-purchase service is as good as the sales process, I'll be as pleased as punch. I would recommend them without hesitation.
I appreciate all the insight shared on this board. Best wishes to all!
I want to buy the '05 Coupe 6MT and was wondering if anyone has used the Consumer Reports Price Guide and if they have found it useful. I have no issue shelling out the $12 that they asking for it. But if it is not worth it then I might as well get a couple of drinks in a bar instead.
I am in the market to buy a new car, my M30 gave up on me I found several 2004 G35 at the local dealer, most have a 35K sticker price. Was wondering if anyone know if there is a good incentive going on for the 2004 I looked at the new A4, NICE but worried about the reliabilty Any info is apreciated Joe
I emailed Infiniti of Columbus (Ohio) and another dealer in Cleveland for quotes. The email reply offer from Columbus was msrp -$2000. No discounts offered on M35. Cleveland guy said make us an offer on the G35, no deals on the M35. I visited Columbus and drove away in two hours in my G. Got a decent price for my trade, a 2000 Maxima. I bought a black g35x with sunroof and sirius at 600 over invoice. 32706 +130 document + tax. smooth, honest deal. they do still have 1.9 and 2.9% fyi but I didn't use it.

I have to say I disagree. I didn't hear from anyone for a few days and I was going to buy the car in a day or so. So I just went ahead and coughed up the $12 smackaroos and it gave the final cost for the dealer (including dealer hold back and all). This really helped me in my negotiation. In the end I got my 2005 G35 Coupe 6MT for $400 below invoice. I think I got a fair deal.
Consumer reports price book definetly helped me negotiate this aggressively cause I knew what price the dealer was paying. He was a bit flustered when I showed him the report. I guess it was worth it $12 smackaroos after all.
I believe I cannot specify sales person by name per forum regulations. It is Luther Infiniti in Bloomington. What is your email? I can email you the saleperson's name.
I have a quick leasing question. I get a VPP (Vehicle Purchase Plan) through my work at Nissan/Infinity. I looked at the G35 Sedan w/ premium pkg,Serius Radio, and Spoiler. The MSRP was $36,697, with the VPP discount they're quoting me $33,995. If my interest rate is 5.9% can you provide me w/ the residual value and what the monthly payments would be if there's an 8% sales tax?
Comments
This is a decent deal, IMO, base on what I read here and at the dealer.
Can you post the car build date when you get it on monday? I want to see how fast these cars are moving out from the lot.
