how can you get a 2005 6mt for $400 under invoice? It is crazy because that car is demanded by so many people. It's a 2005 for god's sake. If this really went down for you, you are quite a haggler. Congrats. What packages did you have? Where did you buy it? Details please?

the value of your car might drop! check with an expert if its not too late. i know it was back in march...lol

I got my car with Premium package, Aero package and trunk mat. I didn't get the NAV system as I could care less for it. So its not like I got a stripped down car. I am from Boston so I got it from one of the Boston dealerships. I will leave it at that.

I am very close to deciding on a 2005 G35X equipped similarly to yours, on a 36mo./36K lease. I already ordered a 2005 BMW 330Ci but I can back out of that deal. I am having "lessee's remorse" about paying approx. $ 120/mo more for the Beemer than a nicely-equipped G35. I have test driven both at least twice. I can't say either vehicle has an absolute edge for my driving style, mostly city, perhaps one or two trips to ski in the Sierra. The G has more interior creature comforts and dual a/, more interior space. The gas consumption is a negative, especially at very close to $ 3/gal. in CA. I only lease for three years and then surrender the vehicle. It's highly unlikely I would ever buy upon termination. I need to decide very quickly, as I frankly cannot justify the huge cap. cost differential between the Beemer, notwithstanding the .0008 MF I have available. I have read that the current rate for the G is .00194, over twice the Beemer, but then the cap. cost.differential, similarly equipped, appears to be over $ 6000.

I noticed on the Consumer Reports pricing service there was either a 1.9/2.9% finance offer or a $2000 rebate on the G35. But, on the Infiniti web site there is only mention of the special APR. Does anyone know if there is an option for the $2000 or not?

You might check our Incentives & Rebates page. Sometimes programs are specific to geographic areas, so while I didn't see any rebate listed for my area, there might be one for yours.

From my research - Infiniti is not likely to give an incentive like $2k rebates. This is the very first I have seen of it. (And I have specifically been researching it)
  • richcreamrichcream Member Posts: 205
I don't know about incentives, but a friend of mine sells infinitis and you can get a G35 for $100 over invoice. Literally.

I think any kind of incentives are probably only offered when the holdback interest due to the banks gets to be too much and the dealer just wants to move them off the lot before they incur a loss on them.

05 Diamond Graphite / Stone G35x, Premium, trunkmat.
    Paid invoice. 2.9%/60

I was offered invoice on any '05 because I was about to buy an '04 RWD, for $2k below invoice from another dealer. Feature creep.

I spent the extra money on the service plan also because this is the last car I will ever own. :-)

    Hello,

I am looking at a used 2004 G35x with 14,000 miles. This would be a dealer purchase. The car had one owner and was purchased at the selling dealership. Carfax report is clean. It looks to be in excellent shape from the photos (dealer is two hours away). It has the following options:

    Splash guards
    Bose stereo
    Sunroof

    The asking price is $29,000

I was going to open with an offer of $25,000 with a ceiling of $26,000-26,500. Does this seem reasonable? I am in no hurry, so I am looking for the best deal possible (who isn't?).

    Thanks!

I been to 3 Infinity dealers in the last week I've gotten quotes that I believe are way too high. Can someone tell me what deals they actually signed in the past month for leases. Please include msrp, money factor, residual, and down payment, etc.

I just came from an Infiniti dealer here in KC and they have 4 2004 G35x's still on the lot. I was told Infiniti is offering 10% off MSRP to move the final 2004 models. They had a car with Premium Package for approximately $36k before the discount. I think his first attempt at a quote was around $32k for this particular car.

I thougth they would be more motivated to move these cars off their lots. Anyone have any thoughts?

Just purchased a 2005 G35 coupe from an Infiniti in the San Francisco Bay Area. Was able to get it at invoice, with basically no hassle. Went between this dealership and another. Seems like they both are really trying to clear the lots since there wasn't much haggling going on. Only options on the car were sunroof, splash guards and trunk mat. Diamond Graphite outside, black inside. So maybe they wouldn't be as willing to go down to invoice for one selling with the packages? Dont know how it would work.

    MSRP: 34,430
Invoice: 31,600, which is what I purchased it at.

Financed a portion of it, at a higher rate tho, of 5.99%. Kinda bummed now since I see that twodogjohnny got a rate of 2.9%. But that's ok, may pay it off with a heloc.

I love this car!!! The hum of the engine is awesome. =)

    My friend sells Infinitis.
G35x can be had for $100 over invoice.
Financing rates up to 36 mos = 1.9%
    Financing rates from 36 to 60 mos = 2.9%
This is of course assuming you have good credit (680+). 800+ not necesary.

Use the TMV pricing feature on Edmunds to figure out the invoice.
Go to the dealer make your offer...don't budge.

I'm wanting the 2004 G35x, but the only invoice pricing listed is for the 2005 model. Where can I find the 2004 invoicing?
  • twodogjohnnytwodogjohnny Member Posts: 4
consumerguide.com lists invoice and incentives on the '04.
There is a dealer located in virginias capital that has many '04 AWD's. Not sure if the $2k incentive applies to the AWD - but I think it does. dealer will probably tell you it doesnt.

Hi. I need some advice. I want the 2005-G35Coupe with Sunroof and leather for about 30,000. Is that unreasonable?

I guess from what I am reading I should consider 31,600??? Currently, I am offered 32,995 for 2005/Premium Pkg...But I dont care for the Premium Pkg..Just want the sunroof and the 17 tires....

Any Advice on Price Negotiations (SA, TEXAS)?

    Chunkymonkey,
Can you tell me which dealer? I am in Davis. Thanks
  • nospamnospam Member Posts: 54
I talked to a friend at work today who owns a G35x - her and I have been talking for a while since I finalized on the car.

She said she has seen TV commercials advertising a $349/month lease - a $50/month savings over what they were offering last month.. I have yet to see these commercials.

Does anyone know anything about this? As I have been thinking for a while - with gas prices these cars were moving slowly, and I would not be surprised by this incentive. I'm in NY.
  • chunkymonkeychunkymonkey Member Posts: 3
I purchased at serramonte infiniti...peninsula infiniti was also willing to make a deal. good luck! Hopefully you can get a better financing term than me
  • chunkymonkeychunkymonkey Member Posts: 3
Depends on how badly you want the car. Just say you are willing to pay 30k and that is your final offer. Worst they can do is say no. I would definitely go through two dealers though, and play them off of each other. That is what I did and worked. The 31,600 price that I got is the invoice out here in CA though. So you may be able to get a better deal in Texas.
  • bklynhumterbklynhumter Member Posts: 3
Do you know the details of your friends lease. Also do you know any other details about the $349/month lease? Thanks nospam
  • nospamnospam Member Posts: 54
Well - I don't know a ton about the down payment, but there is one - the breakdown of it - how much is cap cost reduction versus insurance, deposit, etc - that I don't know.

But it of course was a base G35x.

    48 Month
    10k miles/yr

She didn't get the lease - but b/c she has one of these cars she noticed what the deal was. Called the dealer today and got some of the above details. Call your dealer and post the results.

In March, I bought a 2005 G35X (MSRP was over $36K) with Premium Package C and Rose wood trim for $33,300 ($500 below invoice!!!) with 2.9% financing in NJ. It was the easiest car buying process I ever experienced. I went on Edmunds and got 4 dealer quotes with minimal haggling. I would just tell them what the other dealer was offering and they just started competing with each other for my business. I'm not sure if they offer the 1.9 for 36/mon or 2.9 for 60/mon incentives anymore. The internet manager was telling me that the competitive environment of the internet allows the internet managers to offer low prices that the floor sales guy couldn't offer. Interestingly enough, most of the internet managers were women, must be a marketing thing. So if you're planning on buying a car, research and shop on the internet. Also, ask for the internet manager at the dealership when you're ready to sign. The vultures on the floor will usually try to redirect you and sell you the car at a higher price.

What was the name of dealer in NJ fo $500 below invoice
  • richcreamrichcream Member Posts: 205
    konradek,
Use the TMV (True Market Value) feature on the home page of edmunds.
Price the car up with the options you want.

Then go to the dealer and ask for the car, as you configured it with TMV, at the invoice price, if not a bit less than that.

You can have the car for no more than $100 over invoice for certain.

    Good luck!

Contacted 3 of them for a G35'05 RWD sedan, pack C. Got quote from 100-500 over invoice price. Serramonte willing to discuss invoice. I will try for the 2.9% also. Btw, did you use TMV on Edmund? All dealers got the car I want. Thanks a lot, I think I willl have the car by next week

I had been emailing with the Internet Manager, very nice... Made an appointment for today (Sat.) early (hoping to miss any crowds). The IM gave me to a regular salesperson, who quoted me $1500 over invoice for the G35x with C (MSRP $36,830 and quoted $35,194).

When I explained I had a much lower quote from a competitor, he said, "What do you want me to do?" (did he not pay attention in salesperson school?)

    I said, "Beat that price."

He explained that he couldn't do that without taking a $500 deposit, because it involved going to his manager and he "had" to have a deposit to go that low.
I decided this person really didn't want to sell me a car! :confuse:

Had great luck a few years back getting lots of quotes and shopping, but guess this place doesn't want to play.
  • nycnynycny Member Posts: 11
I bought it from Ray Catena in Edison, NJ. The Internet Manager wasn't pushy at all. She told me all the fees upfront so there were no surprises when I got there. Ramsey Infiniti also gave me $300 below invoice quote. Good luck!

Here's some information for anyone in the Kansas City area. They are all quotes for '04 G35x sedan with limited miles.

    Silver/Graphite w/chrome wheels - $31,313 w/2,250 miles.
    Silver/Willow w/o chrome wheels - $31,089 w/750 miles.
Twilight Blue w/Willow - $29,999 w/3100 miles (at Wichita dealer).

Not sure about balancing miles vs. prices under invoice but they do not seem like firm numbers. I still think they can be had for less than the figures I've indicated. Hope this helps as I'm going in a different direction.

Getting quote in Mpls for $34,215. Any thoughts on this from others would be appreciated.

If anyone has experience purchasing a g35x with premium c package in the Chicagoland area, I'd be grateful to learn what price you paid and the name of the dealership. I emailed 4 area dealers. The lowest quote I received was for $34,660 which is $946 above invoice. I also emailed infinit4less which offered $359 above invoice plus shipping (not sure how much that would add). Has anyone dealt with infiniti4less? Any feedback would be appreciated.

    thanks
  • valmvalm Member Posts: 10
Steveh99, Fletcher Jones in Chicago quoted $500 over invoice on the g35x with premium package C (the Internet sales manager is great). Lisle Infiniti was a few hundred over that, and Fields $1500 over. Good luck!

what dealers in NJ did you haggle with via internet, and where did you eventually buy? thanks.
  • phtbddhphtbddh Member Posts: 15
The following is my experience with Passport of Infiniti in Virginia Alexandria on April 27, 2005.

From an internet quote request. Passport quoted me an advertisement of 500 dollars below invoice on an all new 2005 G35X excluding taxes, tags, and destination charge. The model I was looking for was a base 2005 G35x. This particular car had splash guards, trunk mat, and spare tire.

Upon entering the dealership, I was greeted by the dealer and we test drove the car. Everything was fine up until we sat down to start the paper work. The price this company quoted me was about 610 dollars over what I was expecting. Turns out they included the destination charge as part of their original invoice. So this is how they calculated the invoice price:

Invoice = Base + Options + DESTINATION CHARGE

The calculation of the final price is:
Final Price = Invoice (from above) + DESTINATION CHARGE (AGAIN) - 500 (from the internet quote)

Basically the dealer is trying to make you believe you are getting a 500 dollar discount but in reality you're not. They make it up by charging you Destination charge twice. True, some of you may think that's still a good price, which I believe is true. There are other dealers like Rosenthal and Timonium that will give you deals for the same if not better.

When I pointed this out to him, the sales person got his manager and his manager came back to say "take it or leave it". The guy lied straight to my face saying that they are not charging me destination charge twice. The manager even printed out the invoice. Even the invoice showed the exact calculation above, but the manager refused to admit he was charging me twice for destination. They knew I caught them in a lie and that's when I just packed up and left.

Just be wary of dealer tricks like this. I would not trust anyone at that dealer. Let me know if anyone reading this has any questions.

Good luck to you all on your G35s.

As I mentioned in the previous message (#2327) I bought it from the Internet Manager at Ray Catena in March. Not sure if prices have gone up since then. Anyhow, select the dealers quotes link on Edmunds. I believe there are 4 dealers...Ray Catena, Ramsey Infiniti, Douglas Infiniti, and Salerno Duane. I also went on BBB.com (better business bureau) to see if they have any complaints. Ray Catena was listed in good standings with BBB and is a member. You should get a response from everybody within a day. Ray Catena and Ramsey gave me the most competitive offers from the start. The other 2 were willing to negotiate, but the offer from Ray Catena was good enough that I jumped on it. Whatever dealer you decide on, make sure they give you all the fees (taxes/title/reg) upfront, preferably in writing so that you don't waste your time when you go there. I shopped for a Toyota once and noticed they (something about the Toyota dealerships that this practive was very common) tend to add on fees at the signing. I believe Edmunds have a link that shows you the average fees for a region. Good luck!

I saw this email from Passport as well. During the past few weeks I have been in contact with several dealers in the DC metro area. Passport has been by far, the worse to deal with. They state that they will respond with a price quote in 8 hours but failed to do so. Communication with Passport is very poor.

I finally decided to buy my G35 (RWD Sedan, auto, w/sunroof, mudguards, and trunk mat) at Rosenthal Infiniti. The internet sales manager there was very friendly and easy to deal with. Purchased the vehicle at invoice price with no haggling (approx. $30,010, which includes the $610 destination charge) and got the 2.9% financing for 60 months.
  • phtbddhphtbddh Member Posts: 15
Sounds like you got a pretty good deal. Speaking of financing, passport tried to bs me about my credit, because they wanted to extort how much money I was willing to put down. That same night I went on to experian.com only to confirm my my credit is in the excellent category. I will never deal with them again. They are dishonest and a very unpleasant place to do business.
  • g35ingg35ing Member Posts: 9
Thanks, I think he may have gone lower, but I was content with paying a little more for the excellent service he provided. Sorry to hear Passport was BS'ing you about your credit... Especially with the 1.9% and 2.9% financing incentive going on now (which I think expires 5/2/05 in our area).
  • phtbddhphtbddh Member Posts: 15
I just got a return call from the internet sales guy today. He just called me to ask what happened and why I did not buy the car. After talking to him, he admited that the car is actually being sold at 110 dollars OVER invoice (Once again showing that the advertisement is bogus). This is after I confirmed with him the way the price is being calculated from my previous post. I ask this man directly if the destination charge is being charged twice. He blantly lied again saying that its not and says that's how EVERY dealer sells their cars. Talk about total BS. People, I encourage everyone to stay away from Passport Infiniti of Alexandria, VA. This dealer is completely dishonest and will out right lie to you even after you point out their mistakes.

    Rosenthal was great.
invoice on an 05 g35x, and the 2.9/60.
I did notice, that they tacked on $300 for "dealer processing fee" at the end. I let it go.

The 300 dollar processing fee I think is standard across all infiniti dealers. I don't think you can get away without paying for it.
