I think any kind of incentives are probably only offered when the holdback interest due to the banks gets to be too much and the dealer just wants to move them off the lot before they incur a loss on them.
Paid invoice. 2.9%/60
I was offered invoice on any '05 because I was about to buy an '04 RWD, for $2k below invoice from another dealer. Feature creep.
I spent the extra money on the service plan also because this is the last car I will ever own. :-)

I am looking at a used 2004 G35x with 14,000 miles. This would be a dealer purchase. The car had one owner and was purchased at the selling dealership. Carfax report is clean. It looks to be in excellent shape from the photos (dealer is two hours away). It has the following options:
Splash guards
Bose stereo
Sunroof
The asking price is $29,000
I was going to open with an offer of $25,000 with a ceiling of $26,000-26,500. Does this seem reasonable? I am in no hurry, so I am looking for the best deal possible (who isn't?).
Thanks!
I thougth they would be more motivated to move these cars off their lots. Anyone have any thoughts?
MSRP: 34,430
Invoice: 31,600, which is what I purchased it at.
Financed a portion of it, at a higher rate tho, of 5.99%. Kinda bummed now since I see that twodogjohnny got a rate of 2.9%. But that's ok, may pay it off with a heloc.
I love this car!!! The hum of the engine is awesome.
G35x can be had for $100 over invoice.
Financing rates up to 36 mos = 1.9%
Financing rates from 36 to 60 mos = 2.9%
This is of course assuming you have good credit (680+). 800+ not necesary.
Use the TMV pricing feature on Edmunds to figure out the invoice.
Go to the dealer make your offer...don't budge.
There is a dealer located in virginias capital that has many '04 AWD's. Not sure if the $2k incentive applies to the AWD - but I think it does. dealer will probably tell you it doesnt.
I guess from what I am reading I should consider 31,600??? Currently, I am offered 32,995 for 2005/Premium Pkg...But I dont care for the Premium Pkg..Just want the sunroof and the 17 tires....
Any Advice on Price Negotiations (SA, TEXAS)?
Can you tell me which dealer? I am in Davis. Thanks
She said she has seen TV commercials advertising a $349/month lease - a $50/month savings over what they were offering last month.. I have yet to see these commercials.
Does anyone know anything about this? As I have been thinking for a while - with gas prices these cars were moving slowly, and I would not be surprised by this incentive. I'm in NY.
But it of course was a base G35x.
48 Month
10k miles/yr
She didn't get the lease - but b/c she has one of these cars she noticed what the deal was. Called the dealer today and got some of the above details. Call your dealer and post the results.
What would be the best price.
I am new in this forum and never purchased brand new car before.
Use the TMV (True Market Value) feature on the home page of edmunds.
Price the car up with the options you want.
Then go to the dealer and ask for the car, as you configured it with TMV, at the invoice price, if not a bit less than that.
You can have the car for no more than $100 over invoice for certain.
Good luck!
When I explained I had a much lower quote from a competitor, he said, "What do you want me to do?" (did he not pay attention in salesperson school?)
I said, "Beat that price."
He explained that he couldn't do that without taking a $500 deposit, because it involved going to his manager and he "had" to have a deposit to go that low.
I decided this person really didn't want to sell me a car! :confuse:
Had great luck a few years back getting lots of quotes and shopping, but guess this place doesn't want to play.
Silver/Graphite w/chrome wheels - $31,313 w/2,250 miles.
Silver/Willow w/o chrome wheels - $31,089 w/750 miles.
Twilight Blue w/Willow - $29,999 w/3100 miles (at Wichita dealer).
Not sure about balancing miles vs. prices under invoice but they do not seem like firm numbers. I still think they can be had for less than the figures I've indicated. Hope this helps as I'm going in a different direction.
thanks
thanks

From an internet quote request. Passport quoted me an advertisement of 500 dollars below invoice on an all new 2005 G35X excluding taxes, tags, and destination charge. The model I was looking for was a base 2005 G35x. This particular car had splash guards, trunk mat, and spare tire.
Upon entering the dealership, I was greeted by the dealer and we test drove the car. Everything was fine up until we sat down to start the paper work. The price this company quoted me was about 610 dollars over what I was expecting. Turns out they included the destination charge as part of their original invoice. So this is how they calculated the invoice price:
Invoice = Base + Options + DESTINATION CHARGE
The calculation of the final price is:
Final Price = Invoice (from above) + DESTINATION CHARGE (AGAIN) - 500 (from the internet quote)
Basically the dealer is trying to make you believe you are getting a 500 dollar discount but in reality you're not. They make it up by charging you Destination charge twice. True, some of you may think that's still a good price, which I believe is true. There are other dealers like Rosenthal and Timonium that will give you deals for the same if not better.
When I pointed this out to him, the sales person got his manager and his manager came back to say "take it or leave it". The guy lied straight to my face saying that they are not charging me destination charge twice. The manager even printed out the invoice. Even the invoice showed the exact calculation above, but the manager refused to admit he was charging me twice for destination. They knew I caught them in a lie and that's when I just packed up and left.
Just be wary of dealer tricks like this. I would not trust anyone at that dealer. Let me know if anyone reading this has any questions.
Good luck to you all on your G35s.
I finally decided to buy my G35 (RWD Sedan, auto, w/sunroof, mudguards, and trunk mat) at Rosenthal Infiniti. The internet sales manager there was very friendly and easy to deal with. Purchased the vehicle at invoice price with no haggling (approx. $30,010, which includes the $610 destination charge) and got the 2.9% financing for 60 months.
I bought (ordered) a new 2006 325i from IG Burton because of great write ups. Rest of dealers near me were super bad!! I will post there after I receive my car on the Sale department. Will do Service after have had my car a while.
Take care!
invoice on an 05 g35x, and the 2.9/60.
I did notice, that they tacked on $300 for "dealer processing fee" at the end. I let it go.
