the invoice i saw for my car was $39,899 so technically according to that paperwork i only paid roughly $1000 over sticker, and to be honest Greenwich CT is too far to drive to, and the whole no one would budge on price thing made this a good deal for me.
MVS1-Ramsey NJ and the surrounding area is an especially affluent area in NJ. Athletes from many of the NYC sports teams live locally and so do many wealthy businesspeople and celebrities. They just don't care up there unless your in the dealerships ready to pay full price, or at least thats always how they've made me feel. Not to mention their lack of knowledge of their own products. So don't feel bad, i had to walk away from them too.
My local dealer gets nearly $600 for a "doc" fee and adds clear bra, nitrogen, etc to all the cars before they are offered for sale so all the G's have > $1,000 in side-sticker add ons. So even if they sold you are car for "invoice" after you paid the fee and had to pay for the add-ons you would be > $1,600 or more over invoice.
Am I likely to get a car from them? Nope.

Unfortunetly I find the same problem here in CT. Tommy Hilfiger and 50 Cent have homes in these parts.
I wish they would hang out closer to the Bentley dealerships..UGH :P
My local dealer also includes with the purchase:
-2 years of schduled maintenance including the 30000 mile service
-oil changes for life
-Full detail at 1 year anniversary
-$50 gift certificate on parts and accessories.
-VA state inspections
-Same day service appts
-loaners for life
-Unlimited car washes
-Shuttle service to airport
Some of these things I expect from an Infiniti dealer, but others I thought were very nice. Wondering what your dealer benefits are....Better, worse, same?
Had an absolutely awesome buying experience at Infiniti of Mission Viejo in Socal. Huge thanks to Twee Hayes who was very accommodating. Mike Thayer was good too.
Here are the specs:
Journey
Cargo Net
Moon Roof
Splash Guards
^ $31,566.58
Spoiler - $500
CA Sales Tax - $2,489.42
License Fees - $279.75
Total OTD price - $34,890.75
I got a break on the pricing because the car they had for me apparently was sold before I got to it and the next one up had moonroof and splash guards which they basically gave me for $300. From what I can tell on Edmunds.com, the invoice price on all this stuff is $31,805 so I'm stoked.
Again can't thank the dealer enough. Twee was extremely pleasant to deal with. Definitely enhanced the buying experience. Pick a good dealer when you get your car, it can make a huge difference in the end. Whether through a lower price or just better and quicker service.
Thanks to Infiniti of Lisle for a pleasant buying experience, and no thanks to Goldcoast Infiniti for lowballing me on the trade, or Fields Infiniti for their sleazy sales manager Steve's antics.
I am going in the Lisle dealer this week. Thats good to hear you had a good experience there. Did you get any extra perks? Like the previous poster?
Thanks
Invoice + destination is 35860; MSRP is 39375. Made deal for 36860 (1000 over invoice). Added to this is 299 doc fee and of course state sales tax and title/registration.
Dealer claimed unable to waive or reduce the doc fee; I had originally negotiated to 1100 over invoice but got him to drop another 100 after being told of that fee, thus the 1000 over number. I'm effectively paying 1300 over invoice with no doc fee.
The dealer is looking for or trading for the car with another dealer so I haven't taken delivery yet; says it should be in by early November.
I came in with my own financing and there's no trade-in. Should I have done better? Later I felt like I could have gotten one or two hundred lower but not more. This is in Arizona at Infiniti of Tucson by the way.

You haven't given the break-up but seems like it could be an over the invoice deal. Two weeks back when I was shopping, passport infiniti and JBA infiniti were offering 300 below invoice on the 2007s.
Do the math and come to a decision - good luck!!

Very happy with the deal and the car! Bought it on September 15th.
MSRP: 41,025.00 (fully loaded)
VPP: 38,001.68 (37,701.73 + 99.95 wash/wax)
Unfortunately I live in NY, so I get hit with 8% tax.
I live about 90 minutes away, but the local dealer near me is much smaller and wouldn't honor VPP pricing without adding a lot to it. I'd recommend Dorschel highly if you're near Rochester.
I worked with David K.. I can't speak for the non-vpp experience (ie. haggling), but he was great to deal with!
If you can share some info on which dealers to check out, any starting tips.. that would be great.
Please write back. Thanks.

Thanks in advance!

W-rated summer performance tires - I was curious if anyone had advice on if this will be a bad feature for Dallas, TX? Will I need to change tires? Should I just get stock tires?
Other things to think about:
The standard non-6mt tires are 55 series and are the same front and rear - so you can rotate them to extend the life of the tire. You can get nice replacement all season tires for under $100 each from TireRack.
If you get the performance tire package you get staggered sizing with wider rear tires and wheels so you can't rotate them. While this helps handling it could lead to quicker tire wear out. Also the tires are likely softer rubber, which helps dry and wet handling at the expense or quicker wear. They are also 50 series front and 45 series rear - again a lower profile helps handling at the expense of ride comfort and the worry of denting a rim on a pot hole. The real "gotcha" comes when you try to find replacement tires in this 18" staggered size - TireRack only sells two models and they are $174-206 (plus shipping) each. Ouch!
Note that the new G35x tire and wheel package uses the same size 50 series front and rear so you can rotate them, but choices are few in this size and quite expensive as well.
So while *I* would probably order the sportier tires I would recommend you think about it first. Try to drive a car equipped with the package before deciding. The price and longevity of the grippier tires along with the harsher ride may make you decide to keep your money and have the dealer delete that package from your order. If you don't have another car to drive when/if you do get a bit of winter weather then you would have to stay home or catch a ride if you have a summer tire equipped car.

I would certainly recommend Legacy & the employees there.
Professional and easy to deal with. Ask for Jay & Terrill

I smell something here...jointed today and keep posting the same thing over and over.
so next day i talked to there internet sales manager...we talked, i told him i wanted it for under 26k, he said he will call me back and let me know what he can do... he gave me the price of 25,955. Is that a good price? it also comes with Navi by the way
Also check used car listings online at cars.com, autotrader.com, etc for the ASKING price for similar cars. If you find others with fewer miles for less money then the one you are looking at is not that good a deal no matter what the price guides say.
Personally I would try to find one with more warranty and fewer miles, but I don't know if you could for the same price - I have not shopped for a used G coupe.
Dennis
The Nav system in that coupe is pretty crummy. You can't work it while the car is in motion (without a warranty voiding hack). You can buy a nice Garmin GPS for a little over $200 and a really nice one for a bit more. If you can get the Nav included for "free" that it is OK, but I would not pay any more for it than I would a non-Nav equipped car. The map update for that car is $199 and I don't think it is very current. I think you will find many, many errors and the maps and POIs way out of date in the system. I think you are one year short of it having voice command as well.
Nice cars, but like most OEM Nav systems way too expensive (when new), way too expensive to update, not frequently updated, out of date before you buy it, and does not work as well as cheaper aftermarket systems. So get the car if that is what you want, but not for the Nav system - get it for the car itself
Dennis
If you want a coupe, then $2,500 or so under invoice would be a good price.
Dennis
The cargo net and splash guards are "port installed options" and on the cars around here Infiniti puts them on about every car when they hit the port and before the dealer gets them. Extra profits for Infiniti, I guess. If you custom order a car from the factory and wait months for it to come in - it is likely to have the PIO junk on it when the dealer finally gets it. And yes, you would have to pay for the stuff they added.
Dennis
I think carwashes and loaners are standard, but they didn't offer any oil changes or included service.
They did say that they have the largest fleet of loaners, and their wait time for a loaner was much shorter than the other dealers, though who knows if that's true. He also said they stock most of the parts for the Chicago market, so they can service the cars faster - again, who knows if it's true?
Thanks!!!!
I know the FED has now lowered the rate .25% again today. I'm looking at an '08 Journey with Premium Package, Nav,
Sport Package and Technology Package on a 24 month lease ($1k down) or a 60 month purchase ($2.5k down) and was quoted a MF .00231 or 6.4% APR in October.
I'm hoping these will be reduced in November - anyone know?
Thanks in advance!
Dennis
Personally I don't feel like buying a second set of tires because I don't have much room for them, so that is a demerit for the G35. Bear in mind, (as I had said) that I am an experienced winter driver, and on that one Wednesday that shut down the metroplex last winter.... I actually had fun driving from Arlington to my office in Fort Worth (when I was not screaming at the slow idiots to get out of the passing lane). I don't think I want to push my luck with even less traction than I currently have, and in a new car that is nearly 40K. I hope that helps. :shades:
