Ok. Just got back from the dealer. Here was my cap cost: $24696 with all fees rolled in. Because of no security deposit the money factor would be .00175, according to manager. The lease deal from national Honda is $229 per month (plus tax) based on the Msrp of the EX at $25545. I believe auto sales tax for Williamson is 7%. He came back with a payment of $375 per month. Now I know we aren't supposed to negotiate the per month price, but my calculations had the payment closer to $310 (with taxes) at the most. Then he came back at $350 with taxes.

Every online lease calculator supports my numbers of $325ish a month? Ami missing something?

What is the term/mileage of the lease? What state?

It's a 39 month term with first month paid by Honda. 12,000 a year. It's basically the same as the national deal that Honda is running for the 2015 CRV EX for $229 with $2999 down, except I was changing it to $0 money down out the door.

Using the $25,545 MSRP, $24,696 cap cost, .00175 MF and the 39/12 residual of 61%, I get $346.30/mo after adding 7% sales tax.

Thanks Michaell. When I use the Edmunds lease calculator using the numbers, I get $319 using the residual that is advertised in the small print which is $16131 or if I do 61%, which would give residual of $15,582, I get $333. Either way, far away from $375 or even $355 from the dealer. How are my numbers different from yours also? What am I doing incorrectly?

Thanks again for all your help.

I use my own spreadsheet to calculate lease payments; on-line calculators often make assumptions we know nothing about.

You'd have to speak to the dealer to see what math they are using to get the higher payment.

Sigh...well, I'm sure I'll never get that out of them. I wish there was a better way for the consumer to get the math closer. I thought the lease calculators (and I tried alot of them) would be pretty accurate. I still expect a call back from the dealer, but honestly seriously looking at the Mazda CX-5. Seems like that's a pretty good lease deal.

The math behind a lease isn't that difficult .. use this article to build your own:

    http://www.edmunds.com/car-leasing/calculate-your-own-lease-payment.html

Only the numbers change ... and, dealers aren't always forthcoming with those.

But, lots of Honda dealers out there; only takes one to meet your terms.

    2015: .00040 MF and 61% residual for 39mo, 12K/yr... either model.

2016: .00165 MF (we think) and 64% residual for 39mo, 12K/yr... either model

Assuming I could find one, any chance for better terms on an EX in December?  Would be a 15 EX AWD 12/36 in Colorado?  Thanks.

    Hi all,

I'm looking to lease a 2015 CR-V EX-L model and this is the offer they made me:

    Honda CR-V EX-L (it's a new 2015 model)
    Lease Term: 39 months
    Taxes: 8.625%
    Acquisition Fee: $595
    Cap Cost: $29,301
    Money Factor: 0.001750
    Cost of Car: $28,472
    MSRP: $30,275
They said they are selling the car for $29,572 (they said $500 over cost)
    Residual: 60%
They said the payment will be: $368.33 / month (this includes taxes)

This is *after* I'm trading in a car they valued at $2,000.

What do you think? Someone told me that because they're only charging $500 over cost that there won't be any wiggle room and I wouldn't be able to get them down unless I asked for more for my car (trade-in) or I put money up front.

I get $368.60/mo with your numbers, so pretty close.

If you are 35 or under and recently bought a new Ford Escape, Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4 or similar vehicle to transport your young family, a reporter would like to talk with you. Please email PR@edmunds.com no later than Thursday, January 7, 2016 and include your age, the age of your children and a few words about your vehicle choice.

    60% for both trims - 36/12 and 39/12.

No supported lease numbers, which leads me to believe the standard MF of .00175 is in play. $500 inventory payoff to the dealers.

After much haggling and dealing with 4 dealers I finally purchased my CRV the last week of December.
I ended up with a 2015 AWD EXL. I ended up trading in my 2012 honda accord LX as it needed the bumper replaced, a new windshield along with the 30,000 mile service.
My estimated trade in value on the accord was 10,500 and I owed 12,000 on the car.
So the deal I ended up with is:

They gave my 14,500 for my accord. They then applied 1,250 in honda incentive cash. So the breakdown. is:

Gross capitalization cost with deal add-ons: 30,870
    Cost Reduction: 2997,38
    Adjusted Capitalization cost: 27,872
The dealer paid all my tax title and license fees along with my first months payment. I put zero down and didn't have to spend a penny driving the car off the lot. It is a 39 month lease and I have 38 more payments of 329.48. It almost seems too good to be true and feel like I am missing something. Any thoughts? I am also located in the North West Washington/Oregon region where it is tougher to get cars at around invoice.

Looking for the money factor and residual value of a Honda CR-V AWD EX 15k a year 36 month lease. I'm interested in both '15 and '16 models. Is there any incentive or lease cash available also? In Ohio. Thanks.
