I was offered the following quote fromHonda program for the 2015 CRV EX 39 months 12000 miles Due at signing 679 ($0 down, inceptions 1st payment, Tax and tag) pmt 312 plus tax residual is 16119.25
.00165 MF and 61% residual.
For us to check the calculations, we would need the MSRP and CAP cost
I've been trying to figure out how exactly this deal works and what the payment would look like realistically (for a CR-V LX AWD). I am also considering a 2015 Civic LX-but considering the lovely winter weather we may go for a CR-V instead. I inquired on what the best price is that they can offer online and it's $22,579. Here are the details directly from the website.
LEASE FOR $97*/mo plus tax for 24 months 12k miles per year MSRP: $25,575 CAP: $22,780 or eQuote of $22,579 Residual: 69%
*Lease requires approved credit; based on 12,000 miles per year, .20 per mile excess; LEASE BASED ON $2900 CASH OR TRADE DOWN. Security deposit waived. Dealer's Advertised Price includes doc prep fee. Price is the amount plus $595 bank acquisition fee, tax, title and registration. All customer promotions and incentives to dealer. Must take same day delivery, prior sales excluded. Supplies are limited. Vehicles are for illustration purposes only. Color and vehicle may vary.
Looks like they have over 50 cars in their inventory currently (which isn't a ton-but hopefully will work in my favor in terms of getting a good deal). Also, does anyone know if there are additional discounts because 2016 is in the process of being rolled out? Also, what the MF is for the car? Thanks in advance!

Same answer as the last one... You have a minimum of $3600 due upfront, besides tax, title, registration and 1st payment.. $3600 divided by 24 months adds $150/mo. to the payment.
Hello, Can you provide me with the MF &Residual numbers for the 2015 Honda CRV EX AWD? What is a good negotiating price for this model?
Location : South Jersey (across the bridge from Philly). Invoice Price per KBB $26,037.00 MSRP $27,675.00 My Target price : $24,500 (is this reasonable or could it be lower considering the new 2016 CR-Vs are out?) Allowance:36 months/10K Credit; Excellent (800+)
Would also appreciate a link to a good calculator/spreadsheet to figure out the lease price.

.00165 MF and 63% residual for 36mo, 12K/yr. We don't show 10K/yr programs for Honda.
I built my own spreadsheet (well, my 10-yr-old built it for me). Most of the on-line calculators make assumptions that you can't see, plus they don't always handle taxation well.

I checked with a dealer and they are offering .00175 MF and 61% RV. He quoted that these are set by Honda. How can I negotiate these (ie. bring them down to what kyfdx has suggested - .00165 MF and 63% residual )?
Leasing newbie question about capitalized cost reduction. I do not have a trade-in and will be putting no money down. In that case, my capitalized cost reduction should read $0, correct?

No worries, so long as you found the link ...
We don't know that the standard MF for Honda is .00165 - it could very well be .00175 and we didn't know about the change. Dealers can mark up the MF, but it's rare for Honda dealers to do so....
But, to confirm, I would contact several other Honda dealers and ask them what the base MF is for CR-V leases.

I'm also interested in the new lease terms (MF and residual) for November. Looking for a CRV EX AWD, 36-month, 36k miles. I'm in Colorado. If they offer a 10k mile/year option, I would be interested in that as well. I assume that would just have a slightly higher residual. Thanks.

Thanks @kyfdx. What is the MF on the LX AWD? Also looking for residual value on 12K/yr
With the residual down to 59% from 63% (and assuming MF is the same), it looks like one will end up paying more on a lease now than last month. Shouldn't the cost to lease go down as the model gets older?

LX AWD - .00040 and 61% for 36 or 39 months, 12K
Not always ... the marketing folks tend to drive the decisions about lease terms. Since Honda is selling every CR-V they can build, I suspect the marketing folks feel they can jack up the lease payments and it won't slow buyers down.
Thanks, but it seems like your saying the residual for 15k/yr is 59% and for 12k/yr is 57%. Isn't that backwards, or are you talking different trim levels?
Also, seems like last month's terms were generally 36m and this month is 39m, so you would expect a somewhat lower residual, correct?

Yes, those numbers are incorrect - 59% for 36/15 (or 39/15) on the LX and EX. 12K residuals would be 61%
For November, the 39 month residuals are the same as the 36 months residuals, which would result in a lower payment for the longer term, everything else being equal.
Anyone have Touring AWD figures 36(39)/12k both 2015 and 2016?
NY,NJ,CT tri state metro FWIW
Also I have heard a lot about Honda not supporting 10k miles while all the dealers I talk to say no problem. Is that an area specific thing or is that likely through a different finance company, as far as I know from dealers 10k is from Honda.
Someone a while back suggested they were getting the .00040 from the LX on the Touring and in my nearby area. Is that a super Tier credit thing, multiple deposits, do they make exceptions? Secret incentives or something? Competitive leasing companies other than Honda?
I ask because there are many other good cars and good sellers in the segment and virtually all are leasing much better. About $50 a month less under going rate, comparably and as equally equipped as possible and same terms, and out of pocket, $70-$80 in one or two extreme cases. What is with Honda alienating top of trim buyers?
It seems as though you can basically get the 2016 for the same lease/price as a 2015, if I'm forced to pay more than comparable competitors then it might as well be for the 2016.
There is plenty of 2015 and now 2016 Touring models some dealers have over 50-60 2015's on the lot in the area, that would be ones best bet but anyone think next month improves a bit one way or another at least on the 2015?
Starting to think the invoice thing in recent years is BS. I would need to get the price at about $29k to maintain a competitive lease it seems. I've seen $30k maybe end of this month less is possible.

Let's address your issues one at a time:
2015 Touring AWD - same residual for 36/12 or 39/12 this month - 57% 2016 Touring AWD - same residual for 36/12 or 39/12 this month - 60%
MF is .00165 for both
I've heard from other posters that Honda does offer 10K leases in the tri-state area, but we don't have any official numbers from Honda on them. Add 1% to the 12K residuals for 10K leases. It's very regional.
The .00040 MF is only for the LX trim, as an incentive. Honda is selling or leasing every CR-V they can make, and I guess the marketing folks feel that they don't need to promote a special MF for any other trim. Could change, but nobody can predict the future.
All MF we quote are for top tier credit.
Are there better deals out there? You bet - the Mazda CX-5 can be had with a .00001 MF for certain terms. That's almost free money.
I don't track pricing all that closely but lots of folks are getting under invoice price for the 2015 CR-V's that are still on the lot. At some point the inventory will drop to a point where dealers won't discount them as much.
As noted, with the 2016's starting to show up, it's hard to predict what Honda will do with the lease numbers next month.
Invoice is a number that is published - I don't think anyone but Honda and the dealers know what the actual transaction price is, or if there is any 'secret trunk money' available
Excellent info here, thanks for the reply. Since I'm at it, wondering what the real deal is as far as acquisition fees and destination charges.
Security deposits as most know are largely bogus unless a special program that calls for it or credit worthy requirement but acquisition fees are troubling to me when the rate is high in the first place. Also have seen special programs or manufacturer leases that waive this not usually Honda though. Any insight here?
As far as destination. Always understood that to be dealer added fees to customer, now we often hear the manufacturer charges this to the dealer. Any straight info particularly with Honda?
Apologies in advance, know a lot of this gets covered already and beaten to death but it's all relevant to me. Thanks.

Acquisition fees (AKA bank fees) are imposed by the bank and cannot be waived. Some makes will allow you to add the fee to the cap cost, but there is usually a small bump in the MF to do so.
Destination is part of the window sticker and is always charged to the customer. Not sure if this is part of the cost the dealer pays to Honda when they purchase their inventory.
So looking to go get a 2015 crv tomorrow. We live in Franklin, tn. The LX is leasing for $260 with no money down, but would really like to get the ex. It leases for $229 with $2999 down. How much extra would we expect to pay for the EX with no money down, $0 out the door?
Thanks! Hopefully it gets answered before we go out tomorrow

If the entire $2999 is for down payment, then add about $83/mo to the payment if you want $0 down ($2999 / 36 months)
Thanks for the quick reply! Hopefully they will do zero money lease with the ex. I'm trying to decide if worth getting the ex over the LX which has sign an drive for $260. The ex numbers I gave you were based on $26,445, but I have an edmunds price of $24,671 which I would assume would the lease payment a good chunk less. Seems to be a good deal...I hope. Kind of a lease newbie.

You can write up any lease with $0 down payment. But, there are still going to be some up front costs due at signing - bank fee, dealer fee, first payment and tags/license.

Ok. Just got back from the dealer. Here was my cap cost: $24696 with all fees rolled in. Because of no security deposit the money factor would be .00175, according to manager. The lease deal from national Honda is $229 per month (plus tax) based on the Msrp of the EX at $25545. I believe auto sales tax for Williamson is 7%. He came back with a payment of $375 per month. Now I know we aren't supposed to negotiate the per month price, but my calculations had the payment closer to $310 (with taxes) at the most. Then he came back at $350 with taxes.
Every online lease calculator supports my numbers of $325ish a month? Ami missing something?

Thanks.
