For a minute I thought that was a Superbird under that cover.

Bet the rats like those covered vehicles in winter!

Best way to store for longterm is, of course, indoors in a dry concrete structure, with a light dust cover and a small fan under the car. Some say to jack up the car but you can buy these little "wheel creepers" that the tires sit on.

Those must have been backup or aid cars, unusual. I am visiting family right now, and in an orchard beside their house, there's a 62 Falcon wagon, very solid looking and complete, no rust, looks like it could drive out of there. I am going to bug them about getting it back on the road, or selling it - it needs to be put back in covered storage.

I wonder if any ex-police wagons survived - I have definitely never seen one.

Technically a holiday for me, but once the yard work was done, what else was I gonna do but hang out here ;)

From my Monday Feature Flick, a movie that takes place in Rome with a vehicle marketed in Europe/Austrailia being searched

I'm going to say that van is a ford Galaxy. The door handles look like the one's on a Windstar.
    Total guess.

Kia Carnival, Euro version of first gen Sedona, and probably nothing like an actual Carnival.

MB Museum has been showing old showroom shots on their fb page, here's a good one, mid-century style:

Ah, back in the days when you didn't have to get up and close to tell what the heck a vehicle was :(

Visiting older relatives today. My 80 year old uncle has a Chrysler 300M, original owner, very nice condition, he plans to keep it until the end. He says the biggest issues he has had with it are a few check engine lights. And my 85 year old aunt (not the wife of the 300M uncle) has a first gen Stratus in typical little old lady condition.

Nice styling on both of those for the times.

Bingo... but it has the cool hood scoop! ;)

Ram air! And no doubt a torquey small displacement old tech diesel under the hood (which might have been better than the thirsty mediocre V6 we received on the first gen Sedona).

Agreed.  I still think the 300M is a sharp car.   I have a relative with one and he still loves it.  His is the ubiquitous for the time Hunter green over beige.

I think those are the cars (300M) that had a very thin crease in the sheetmetal, down the side of the car, high up on the body. They reminded me of being keyed, LOL.

Out on the road in eastern WA, saw a lot of oldies as to be expected. Trucks too numerous to mention, square light Rabbit, 70s Toyota-based motorhome (has to be low survival rate by now, still had all of its hubcaps too), Mustang II with t-tops, 55 Chevy, body of a maybe 41 GM convertible sitting in a lot with other junk, ~70 Mercury big convertible, a few Mustangs, immaculate looking ~81 Malibu wagon.

Went for a ride in another uncle's car, this one a 10 year old HHR, loaded non-SS model (leather, roof, polished wheels, etc). It has held up well in its 80K miles, but I have to say, the HHR has the worst A-pillar related visibility of any car I have ever seen. I remember this years ago when I rode in another. Just hard to see out of in that area.

Not a classic, but surely is obscure! I don't think I saw these any more frequently when they were current offerings:

I had a great view of the Lynx for a minute; the white truck pulled up on it just as I was getting out my camera. :(

Pre-86 Lynx, has to be few survivors anymore.

Saw this cool GMC motorhome on I5 south of Tacoma:

Those '70s GMC motorhomes have a devout following. I remember looking at one for sale here a few years ago just for laffs. I couldn't imagine owning something that big and that old. The interior in the one I looked at was complete and in good condition but was pure '70s with lots of gold, green, brown and orange tones.

I look at some site that has those 70's GM motorhomes for sale.

No doubt! I am not sure this one would count as "survivor" given it's condition. It looked to have two feet in the grave....

A lot of them were like that 20 years ago. I can't recall the last time I saw an early Escort or Lynx, even here.

Come to think of it, I saw a Tempo coupe yesterday in Soap Lake.

I saw this rare Ford Ranger in traffic, until now I thought a V6 was the top engine. You can probably pop wheelies in this:

Single headlight episodes have better car chases. Dual headlight episodes came later, after TV violence standards were strengthened.

Not that I ever watched it. ;)

It's nice to hear that someone who seems so nice, like James Garner, was actually also seen that way by people who worked with him.

Nice car! I know it isn't everyone's taste, but I think white over grey works perfect for MBs of this era, and aside from two tone blue, this is the ideal color. Where it has lived would make me want to see it in person (I prefer PNW cars), but it looks good. I'll guess low teens, these are undervalued cars.

I think it is a really handsome car in good colors for it.

If I buy a car when this lease is up, I would consider a 124 cabrio, but a soft top in the damp here probably isn't a good idea. A nice modern classic for not a ton of money.

On the obscure topic, I saw a shiny red Reatta in traffic today.

How are you enjoying the series? I've been trying to spot incorrect cars, since this first season is set in 1971.

The Deuce - it's about prostitution and pornography in 1970's New York. The title refers to 42nd Street.
