For Pilot EX-L w/Nav, what is the current money factor and residual? This would be for a 36 month, 15k/year lease. Thanks. Also, Hopkins Honda today quoted $30,684 for this vehicle (MSRP is 36,040).

I purchased an EX-L 4WD today in Kansas City. Price breakdown: $26,550 for car + $595 Destination Fee + $199 doc fee = $27,344 OTD. I requested all weather mats and mud guards to be thrown in and they did. MSRP on the sticker was $33,840. Btw, the $27,344 was only $1300 more than what I paid in 2003 for my base model Toyota Highlander V6 w/cloth seats and no 3rd row seat, etc.

Heck of a car at a great price- glad I waited till today for the $3500. I have noticed that some '07 colors are now becoming close to being sold out (at least in this area- nimbus gray & billet silver).

Props to this forum for providing knowledge and perspective-definite assests in my negotiation.

Threw out the internet quote net today with the new $3500 incentive in place. Found myself a bit bummed when no one could break $30,000 with their quotes. I was certainly hoping that I could get at or even below $29k for the 4WD EXL NAV considering the extra $1500 incentives. I think these Western Washington dealers get fiesty about cars costing more in this area.

I went ahead and pulled the trigger on my pilot today. Here is what I got:
    2007 Pilot EX 2WD White
    Mud flaps
    Wheel locks
    Cargo mat
    $25,700 OTD price.

    Base price was $23,550. Tax:$1825.13

    What cha think?

Oogie, I had the email sob story from Seattle Honda yesterday. It was truly pathetic...the violins were going as I got the "I was stealing the food out of his babe's mouths" with my offer. He should have stayed a used car dealer! His arrogance and indignant disposition lost all my respect for Seattle Honda and I will not be recommending it to anyone! When I discussed the incentives, holdback and floorplans, he became all offended and snippy. Truly juvenile.

Did you check out Renton Honda?? They are having their Christmas in July sale with the Navi thrown in for free. Now.. I'm sure "free" is relative!

I have emailed my most favoured dealership and I hope to get a response today. I really have learnt that not all Honda Dealerships are alike!

    Cheers,

Congrats on Pilot purchase. I live in area, would like to know what dealer you bought this from and any other pertinent info as best to buy my own.
  • tgwrhtgwrh Member Posts: 7
The current money factor on the Pilot with "Super Preferred" credit is .00290 and the residual is 49% of MSRP.

I emailed the internet manager at Richfield Honda and he quoted me a price of $29585.00 plus TT7L or lease at the same selling price for only $539.73 per month @ 15000 miles per year with a total of $1625 down.

He also gave me a 48 month quote of $491.26 per month with just $1520 down.

Good luck - I'm gonna go see him Monday.

Just sent out a dozen internet requests for quotes. I've checked the dealer websites in Mass. and they have only 4-5 of the Pilot EXL 4x4 in the color I want. Question - should I wait until the end of the month and risk them not having the color I want in the hopes of saving $500, $1k, etc.? Do the dealer websites contain all of their inventories? The new incentives make it sound like they should sell quickly?

    Thanks.

    Best Price in Atlanta Area

Any one in Greater Atlanta area who recently bought EXL model and would like share their price/experience?

    I am shopping around,for an 2007 4WD EXL

What is the best price I can pay? Thanks
  • flyingebflyingeb Member Posts: 1
Doug - I think the dealers have more inventory available then what they show on the websites. Boch claims to have 700+ Pilot's available, but shows less than 200 on their website. I am also in Mass looking for a Pilot EX-L AWD with Navigation. So far my best quote is from Majestic Honda in RI. They are quoting $29,184 + $95 doc charge. Bernardi was quoting me $29,700 last week, I have asked them for a new quote with the additional incentives. Please let me know who gives you the best quote in the area.

I am wondering if the price I got for a new 2007 Honda Pilot EX-4WD was a good one: $25,117 ($26,611 with all taxes, fees, doc fees, etc...)?

    Color: Nimbus Gray
    Location: Hopkins Honda

Just made my purchase of the following, here's the breakdown:

2007 Honda Pilot EX-L AWD with Navigation (Formal Black)

    MSRP $36,040 (Destination included)

    INVOICE $32684

    LESS about $809 Dealer Holdback
LESS $3500 Manufacturer to Dealer Incentives

VEHICLE SALE PRICE OF: $28,376 plus TTL.

So the final sale price was $28,376 but that did not include the TTL and $399 "document fee" which made it $28,775 + TTL. This is about $7250 below MSRP with the BS doc fee included.

The dealeship probably made about $1,000 on the sale of this vehicle, which is roughly a 3% profit (off invoice) and fair enough for all parties involved. (about $600 on floorplan and $400 in doc fees)

I did have a trade in which was a 2005 Honda Accord, which the dealership would be able to make a decent amount of money on. They gave me 10,500 for a 2005 Honda Accord LX with a 5spd manual and 64k miles.

    OTD it was $29,032.

Overall I'm very very happy with the transaction. It pays to do your homework, and this site makes it very easy.

Oh yeah, and it came with interior protection, mudflaps, the backup camera, and wheel locks, and the pinstripe. (All of them worthless to me!....DONT PAY FOR THESE!)

    GOOD LUCK!!!

Just got mine today at Gwinnett Place Honda!

I'd say I got a pretty good deal on the base price of the car; the discounted options are (Preferred Package):
    - Sunroof Guard
    - Mudflaps
    - Some type of Paint Sealant?

Their documentation fee at $399 seems to be average for Atlanta.

This is the breakdown of my purchase:

    Base Car $24,468.00
    Options $621.00 Discounted (Originally $995)
    Destination $595.00
    Processing $399.00
    ---------------------------
    Total Car $26,083.00
    Trade-In -$5,500.00 $330 Tax Savings
    ---------------------------
    Taxable Total $20,583.00
    Tax @ 6% $1,234.98
    ---------------------------
    Sub-Total $21,817.98
    Registration $28.00
    State Fee (GA) $3.00
    ---------------------------
    Sub-Total $21,848.98
    TradeIn-Balance $1,679.24
    ---------------------------
    Total $23,528.22
    Cash Down -$6,528.22
    Financed $17,000.00

    Got 6.24% @ 48 months; payments are $401.22/month

Overall I'm pleased with the deal but spent way too much time at the dealership waiting and waiting.....

I waited till the July incentives were in place as history shows prices drop significantly. All the dealers tried to tell me the last few weeks that the incentives were due to expire and would not be renewed. What a game this is! Got calls yesterday from several dealers falling over each other with lower quotes. Brown's Honda asked for my best quote and then went under that by $100 and agreed to add running boards for $495 which was about $125-150 less than the other quotes I received.

Got to the dealer, no running boards on the car and was told they were out of them. When I started walking out, lo and behold they found some in stock and installed them rather quickly. Then once I was in with the finance person I see they added an additional $100 as a processing fee which was supposedly included in the price they gave me. I walked out, got into my car and drove away. My 19 year old daughter convinced me that I had made my point and that it was not worth starting over for $100. I turned around and went back in and completed the deal. I loudly made sure everyone in the dealership heard when I said that this is why car dealers have such a bad reputation. So here's the final deal.

    EX-L 4WD

    MSRP 33840
    Wheel locks
    Mud guards

    Paid: 26425
    Running boards: 495
    MD taxes: 1346 (5%)
    Tags: 263

    OTD: 28,529

I cannot in good conscience recommend Browns Honda. As with any dealer I would be aware of the games they play. They will play you for as much as they think they can get away with. Be prepared to walk out as I did but also realize that at some point an extra $100 is not going to make much difference. Good Luck!

Purchased from Colonial Honda today. Nimbus Gray with 16 miles on the odometer for $24195. Destination and wheel locks are included. Not many EX-4WDs in Southern California.

    Good luck everyone!

Best prices by dealer for my search ranked in order:

    1. Independence Honda
    2. Lee's Summit Honda
    3. O'Neill Honda

Just contact them w/exactly what you want- they are ready to move product. I opted for formal Black and am quite happy.

Like many others posting here - I'm guessing there were a good number of deals made for Pilots this first weekend of $3500 incentives. I purchased my 4WD EX-L w/ NAV for $29,000 plus TTL. As much as I would hope for something closer to $28k, I think that deal is either 1) hard to come by in the Seattle / Western Washington area ; and 2) probably possible later in the month or in August - where you run the risk of supplies dwindling or settling for a color that isn't your top choice.

Good luck to all in their purchases!

I've been doing plenty of research and have been viewing posts for quite some time and I finally got a good price (for Washington anyway) at Renton Honda...I had a couple bad experiences at Bellevue and Seattle Honda (all over the phone). Setting up a deal over the phone or via email is the only way to go. I don't think I can post the salesman's name but I have his card so if you want to email me I can get you his contact information.

One salesman there seemed surprised at the price but it could have been an act. The price for a EX-L w/o Nav was $28,000 + Tax/Title and it includes a portable Nav (worth $400) with the purchase. That's the "free" you are talking about.

Thanks to everyone who has been posting info. to have something to go on.

My experience was the same. Honda Auto Center of Bellevue was horrible to deal with. Downtown Honda in Seattle was a disaster as well; the guy was terse and and difficult and their prices were among the highest.

Renton Honda wins for being the best experience and price, best sales team with quick turnarounds on e-mail, and they understand how to deal with savvy customers and will make it easy.

I also had good e-mail exchanges with Klein Honda in Everett and Lynwood Honda. Ultimately, I chose Renton.

One thing I will say about all of the dealerships; most don't have accurate inventories listed on their websites. There were a few dealerships I didn't bother to contact because their websites were a mess and it was clear the inventories were not updated or accurate.

My question is this: Why are we (in Seattle) seeing prices that are around $1k-1.5k more on these cars vs. other geographic areas? Before the latest dealer cash offer, an EX-L price in the Seattle area was $28.5-29k. Some people here (east coast, southern California) are paying a lot less. Why?

    trmend1-

Just got a 28,000 price for a EX-L w/o NAV or RES....but the deal comes with a port. Nav system they say is worth $400. In the Seattle area the NAV is probably fun to have and worth while but over there in Eastern, WA navigating is not to difficult!!

The prices over there are just rediculous...I almost took a drive to S. Cal or Texas to get the car because they were so far off.

    Hi Folks,

I'm posting this in case others are looking for a 2007 Pilot EX-L AWD in Northern CA. Obviously, I waited until the July incentives went into effect. I would appreciate others who are looking to post the OTD prices they are getting at dealers. So far, this is what I have...

San Leando Honda - OTD price = $29,420. The *price* of the car was $26,299 + 595 delivery. TTL got it to 29,,420 but the math was *fuzzy*. There were no add-on's or additional options.

By my calculations -- here is what the deal could be...if I can find it / get it.
    $30,101.00 Invoice Price
    $595.00 Destination
    $(3,500.00) Cash to Dealer incentive
    $(602.02) Holdback 2%
$(498.00) dealer incentive for floorplan / advertising
    $8.75 DMV Fee
    $239.00 1 year DMV Registration
    $50.00 Documentation Fee

    $26,393.73 Price
    $2,177.48 Tax @ 8.25%
    $28,571.21 TOTAL OUT THE DOOR

I'd appreciate anyone else out there in Norther CA who is getting a **better OTD deal than what I have been offered** to please post so I know. I will post when I get the best deal I can.
  • sethnagasethnaga Member Posts: 50
    Hi Ram8

I think hold back is 3% of invoice so it will be 900$. You need to add Profit of 2% which will be 500$

Can any one in this forum confirm hold back%?

    Thanks
  • dpresdpres Member Posts: 17
i've seen holdback at 2% of invoice. dealers won't give you holdback and their floorplan. they need to make some money on a car. realistically, a dealer needs to make about 3% on his "actual cost" to stay in business. they won't sell you a car for a $50.00 doc fee as their only profit.

I received the following quote below from Central, NJ.

Here is the On the Road Price you requested on the 2007 Honda Pilot: EXL 4wd
    INTERNET SELLING PRICE: $26,156
    DESTINATION and HANDLING: $595
    SUBTOTAL: $26,751
    STATE SALES TAX: $1,872.57
    DOCUMENTATION FEE: $199
REGISTRATION: $354 for 4 year MV registration if financing
    NJ TIRE FEE: $7.50
    TOTAL PRICE: $29,184.07

From what I see, this is a pretty good deal. Hopefully, I will have the Pilot by the end of this week.

I purchased the Consumer Reports bottom line price for the Pilot -- for the EX-L 4WD, they state the dealer hold back at $997. They give all the prices for each style, so if anyone wants to know what is written here, just ask.

Also, I'm in Chicago and I've gotten a quote at $25, 283 for the EX-L 4WD. Has anybody gotten anything lower at this point?

  • dashbbdashbb Member Posts: 119
Wow! Are you sure your quote was for a 4WD model? The MSRP for an EX-L 4WD = $33,840. Your dealer price quote of $25,283 equals $8557 below MSRP!! and $5247 below Invoice!!

I'm in Chicago too. Which dealership is offering this price? This is truly an excellent price IMHO!
  • jirzleejirzlee Member Posts: 5
So would that be $25,283 + destination + ttl. This is not including any trade-in vehicle either, correct?

    Thanks much.

I emailed an offer to a large dealer in West Palm Beach, Fl... 07 Pilot EX-L 2wd an offer of $25,900 plus tax, tag only as I have a plate to tranfer.. I was emailed back that they would accept offer.. They do have a lot of inventory. I made it clear I did not want them to try and add dealers fee etc. or I would not buy as we really don't have to.. List is $32,540 carsdirect showed price to be $26,123 the problem I have with justifying any purschase is we already have several cars and I don't want to trade as black book stinks and all our cars are in excellent condition allthough they are 5years old ..will probably just sell them myself, so I offered to pay cash.. will keep you posted if we go through with deal..

Is it possible for you to give me a copy of that quote so that I can it show my dealer to get price. I hoping to buy this week and want the best possible price.

I also purchased the Consumer Report for the Pilot and the holdback is $997.

If you had received a quote for $25,283 for the EXL-4WD, does that mean that the dealer is not making any money on the deal.

    I am in Texas
EX-L 4WD $26990 without Tax, title and licence fee
EX-L 2WD $25670 without Tax, title and Licence fee

which one is good? actually I am not sure which mode fit my request?

If I got that price for the EXL 4WD up here in WA I would jump on it in an instant!!!

As to the pros and cons of 4WD and 2WD it all depends on the likelihood of your use of vehicle in snow, backroads w/ some rough/muddy terrain or something similar. Up here in WA 4WD is nice to have with the mountains/snow and getting to the cabin backroads. However if that was not my case, I would definately buy the 2WD and hopefully save on the MPG as well.

    Base Price
    Floor plan
    Hold back
    Destination fee
    etc

Appreciate if you could post the numbers

You can get these here at Edmunds.
MSRP / Invoice / destination are directly given. Holdback is calculated by 3% of invoice before destination. There's a national $3500 dealer cash incentive.
  • trmend1trmend1 Member Posts: 59
Thanks dbt. I was under the impression that CR had different information than edmunds.
  • gopilot1gopilot1 Member Posts: 10
After reading all these low prices people are getting quoted at in TX and back east it really makes you wonder why the prices in Oregon/Washington aren't more competitive...and forget the 2WD's, they don't have them.

The best price we could find for an EX-L was 28K + TX/TTL...and that was quite a bit lower than some of the large dealerships in say Portland, Seattle, and Bellevue (who all seemed like the prices listed here on this site were crazy). Maybe they just know people will buy them regardless, I don't know.

They did throw in a "free" portable Nav system which was nice but I would rather they drop the prices say 1K.

I wonder if the $3500 incentive is dependant on how many cars they sell?? Anyone know the answer?
  • oogieoogie Member Posts: 7
The $3500 incentive is there - independent on dealer volume. Holdback is always there as well, the only real mysterious incentives that you might not be able to know up front would be some of these marketing, floor plans and volume incentives I hear about.

But dealers are a funny bread - they'll say just about anything. There are so many lies out there, I quickly gave up trying to point them out to dealers when I spoke to them. One guy told me Saturday that I was wrong on the $3500 incentive ... and that a $2000 incentive JUST started.

Either way, I think something in the ballpark of $29k for EXL w/ NAV 4WD is a fair target. There is only so much pulling of teeth I'm willing to do for a deal. Also, one would expect that prices, even in the Northwest, will soften quite a bit in the next 4 weeks ... I just don't know how supply of the model you want is holding up in that time.

Well... West Hills Honda in Bremerton just called me this afternoon... she's quoting an EXL 4WD for $27,897. I have a few other leads that will probably beat hers, but I have to be patient for my guy to come through. I can't post details right now.. but if he does I be shouting it from the roof tops.

Sorry for novice qns..what is this $3500 dealer cash incentive is?

I'm planning to buy pilot on cash. Do this mean that I should pay invoice minus $3500?

    Thanks
  • gopilot1gopilot1 Member Posts: 10
I'll bet the guy at Renton Honda can beat that...which is sad to say because I just got the 28K even price. I think as the month rolls on prices will begin to drop. The only problem is convincing the wife!! I couldn't.

That's interesting about the $3500 incentive regardless of sales volume...that was the line I was getting from a bunch of dealers.
  • dashbbdashbb Member Posts: 119
I think these prices are good given the year-end closeout incentives. If you're getting quotes lower than that, please share. These prices are including Destination charge of $595 AND 2.9% financing for 36 months.
