I just rec'd an email from Spreen Honda yesterday (Sat). It said they are having Massive Sales Event for two days.
    YF2817EW 2WD LX $21,334
    YF2847EW 2WD EX $24,462
    YF2857JNW 2WD EX-L $26,549
It seems they offer a great price on LX 2WD. Not sure if destination fee is included or not. Hope this help.

Wow - those prices look great. I am be quoted $27,800 for the 2007 Pilot EXL and $1,600 for the extended waranty 6 years 100,000. Sounds like I can do better? I am in San Diego Ca. Should I wait till July?
  • jwhomjwhom Member Posts: 16
Don't know. I'm also thinking about waiting for July, but may pull the trigger this week.

Does anyone have any info on what incentives may be offered this July?

Don't buy their warranty at the dealer. Check out this website. You can buy it online.

Is Honda still offering the dealer holdback of 2% or is it 3% on the 07 Pilot? Is this nationwide? Can this be combined with the incentive? Anyone recommend a dealer in the northeast-CT,MA,RI? Thanks!
  • dbtdbt Member Posts: 298
Holdback should be 2% now, and is different from the "marketing support" (i.e. the dealers get both). I always got pretty good price quotes from Herb Chambers (I was close to Seekonk), but never ended up purchasing.

I'll be going in on thursday morn to a dealer just east of seattle... I'll let you know how it goes. I'm looking for just the EXL 4WD... don't need the other stuff. This dealership has about 85 07Pilots in stock, so I am hoping for a great deal!

    Cheers,

I'd just say thank you, let him know if he changes his mind give him your number and walk out the door. Car buying can be very emotional, but you have to push that aside and look elsewhere. The 08's are rumoured to be released in late July and many dealerships have alot of 07 in stock. I wouldn't bother negotiating with options... that and service have the greatest mark-up in cost... so, an option listed at 400 bucks is really only 100 bucks... installation is a farce in charging for labour. If you don't get the deal you want leave... things will change in in the next couple of weeks.

    HTH's
    Cheers,

Spoke with a dealer in Maryland today who said the holdback is 3%. This is in addition to the "marketing" incentive of $2000.

Does anyone now what the Pilot incentives went up to last July. I read in an earlier post they went up to $4,000. I asked a dealer, and he said that was only on the Ridgelines. He said the most the Pilot went to was $2,500.
  • jfritschjfritsch Member Posts: 958
Regardless what the advertised incentives were, a browse of Pilot buys last summer reveals many purchases about 7000-8000 off MSRP.

    Good Luck

I am searching greater Boston for the best deal on an 07 AWD LX.
Best couple are $23,999+ Doc fee + TTL.
I'm going to monitor inventory levels and try and wait for the new dealer incentives to roll-out lower on July 3rd.
Right now they're $2,000 and I think +2-3% hold back.
    Any comments gratefully accepted.

Paid 28,200 and they gave me an additional $450 bucks off of that for turning in my leased Accord at their dealership (it was really low milage and they will probably resell it for a huge profit). So paid around 27,750.
Used Metro in Johnston. Was not happy with the finance guy there who was kind of a jerk and they kept me there a really long time (I sat in a cubicle for an hour and had no idea where they had gone). Beware to all-they tried to sneak in a "protection package" (AKA Wheel locks) for $199 and some gap coverage warrenty for $99 onto my final bill. I noticed and refused to pay. Really need to watch all dealers on that...such scammers.

In CA, I received several internet quotes in the $22k range, then of course they added about $1k in retail items. I would try to talk them down more. Maybe high $22k? Or maybe I'm just cheap.........
  • jwhomjwhom Member Posts: 16
Went to Spreen in Loma Linda, and they added on "Appearance Pkg" and tinted windows for $1k. I also had a trade-in, but they seriously low balled me. I walked out.

If you are just buying the car, and no trade-in, then I may have taken it, but I'm not going to eat up too much neg equity on my trade in.
  • cougar07cougar07 Member Posts: 4
jwhom, thanks for the info. I am getting mine next weekend. So far, my best quotes are from Spreen and Weir Canyon. I don't have trade in but don't want any accessories or options. I have to get them agree on OTD & details before i show up.
  • pogiru96pogiru96 Member Posts: 13
Dealer makes big money on all those optional accessories. My advise skip them. If you really need them you can buy them from EBay for the fraction of the cost and install it yourself.

As for 4899.00 off MSRP my advise keep on shopping. You should be able to get around $5400 to $5600 off MSRP easy.

    Hope this helps
  • jwhomjwhom Member Posts: 16
    cool, good luck.

For some reason, they are very reluctant to provide OTD pricing. I find that very annoying.

    Let me know what happens.
  • vigvlvigvl Member Posts: 1
I am working with the same dealers that both of you are.

I just got an OTD from Weir Canyon for 24289 for an LX 2WD.

It does include taxes, license, docs, tire and county fees.

I did get the same price from Spreen that is listed. Another dealer that will match any price, and reluctantly would match the Spreen price if I brought in a written quote, is Corona Cars of Honda.

I'm pretty much ready to go ahead an go with Weir Canyon. They are also offering a Tire for Life deal. It might have some fine print that may or may not make it a good extra.
  • jwhomjwhom Member Posts: 16
Yeah, I'll probably head to Wier next week to see how much they'll give me for my trade in.

Just got an email from Honda Cars of Coronda stating Employee Pricing Event June 22-24 by invite only, and said they will give more for your trade in. Has anyone have any experience with "employee pricing"? Is it better? Worse?

Anybody find these good deals in Northeast Ohio.
  • jyuen9jyuen9 Member Posts: 14
I received an internet quote for the EX 4WD for $25,511 and the EX-L for $27,500. I still think that in July there will be better incentives. You should keep in mind that it is better to buy a car towards the end of the month, preferably the last day of the month for the dealer to reach their sales quota. Maybe they may not haggle as much.
  • cb13cb13 Member Posts: 10
Which dealership is that and does that include destination charge?

    Thanks
  • stax58stax58 Member Posts: 1
On June 11, I sent emails to 15 Honda dealers in Northeast Ohio. I told them I wanted their best price on a 2007 EX-L AWD, any color but black or white. I told them that I needed their best price in writing via return email, and that the quote must include a VIN. No phone calls would be accepted. I emphasized to all of them that I would not darken the door of any of their stores until I had their sales agreement in hand with the agreed-upon pricing. I also made clear that I was after a cash deal and would not tolerate sales pitches of any kind when I got to the dealership.

By early Tuesday, I was inundated with responses. Three dealerships came in with quotes in the $28k+ range. Everyone else was significantly (+$1000) higher. I told the higher ones that they needed to sharpen their pencils. One did, everyone else fell out.

I then pitted the last four against one another. The lowest number I received was for $28,135 from Sunnyside Honda which included destination, but not tax/title/doc. fee. That number came only after a lot of back and forth. It slightly undercut the lowest price ($28,333, also with destination, but no tax/title/doc fees) I received from Classic Honda in the first go-round, but Classic's price was for the dark cherry pearl model we wanted. The absolute low price from Sunnyside was for a nimbus gray model. So I used that lower price to leverage a couple of accessories from Classic. I picked up the vehicle last Thursday and the transaction was flawless. Test drove the car, listened to the features explained and signed the BMV forms. Done!

The dealer was DCH Honda in Old Bridge, New Jersey. Not sure if it included the destination charge. I have the internet quote for the EX 4WD in writing and when he realized I was interested in the EX-L 4WD, he quoted me $27,511 on the phone. I will write him back to give me that quote in writing. I want to buy one in July after the 5th when everyone should be on vacation and that the better incentives come out. I went back to last years messages and the incentives came out to be between $7K to $8K below MRSP in July. I hope it happens again.
  • uahmeduahmed Member Posts: 5
Quote for $25,511 for EX 4WD is an excellent price. Can I ask who is the dealer. Thanks?
  • dpresdpres Member Posts: 17
Interested on some input with the offer I just got from the dealer for a 2007 EX-L AWD.

    Here's the breakdown:

    MSRP $33,840 (incl dest)
SALE PRICE $27,630 (doc fee not included)

    Savings of $6210 off MSRP.

This includes the $2,000 dealer incentive as well as $500 for financing through Honda. At first they said they couldn't do both at the 5.9% special rate...but then they changed their tune. The doc fee adds another $400 to the sale price to make it: $28,030.

Is this a good deal? Or should I continue to shop around?

On a side note, I got hold of the sales manager's holdback "secret papers" and noticed that on this EXL 4x4 Pilot there is another "Dealer Bonus" of $498 as part of the floorplan/advertising incentive. (He shouldn't have left them in front of me and left for 10 minutes).

    Looking forward to the input!

Hi, a few Seattle area shoppers posted earlier messages indicating that they were looking at EX-L models and would share quote information.

I'm in the market for the same vehicle, same area. I'm about to blitz the local dealerships and would love to know what quoted prices people are receiving and the dealers to shop & avoid.

I'm heading out this weekend and will be happy to share my experiences.
  • joefl1joefl1 Member Posts: 1
wow, I would love to see that email! Will you please forward me the email with the internet quote of 25,511?? This is something I've got to see to believe. josegann@yahoo.com

    Hi,

I am interested in getting a new 2007 EX-L AWD. I can wait until approximately early August. I am hoping that Honda will bring back the 1.9%APR 36 month financing and increase the rebate(s). A few questions:

    1) Is there a minimum downpayment when using financing?
    2) Is the 3% dealer holdback a % of the invoice price?

The deal I am hoping for is a 2007 Pilot EX-L AWD for $27,500 + TTL with 1.9% financing for 3 yrs w/ 6K or less down. Does this sound like it may come true in the July / August time frame?

I've received quotes from many dealerships in the seattle area... most are pretty tight about negotiating but I think this will change come July. Some were great straight shooters, and comfortable to talk to a deal with, others changed their stories mid sentence and I got quite an uneasy feeling. Sims and Lynnwood wouldn't budge under 29996. Renton(but with NAV thrown in) and West Hills was at the same at 29696 but said they would beat any lower bid by 100 bucks and willing to talk. Klein in Everett was the most relaxed and willing to work with 28500... maybe less. Klein works with you on your terms not theirs. Bellevue was the worst experience with firstly not quoting via email and then when I went in stories changing mid sentence, typical sales scare tactics (amazing with 93 pilots in stock.. like they are gonna sell them all in a week!! and then saying more are coming in off the truck in a week) Extreme lowball tradein allowance, calling the info on this website as false and admits to scoping out the forums. And the most annoying part... the "make you wait around the dealership" I don't know why they do that.. the e-sales person and assistant has to go check on something for 20minutes.. and then back I ask another question.. and off to check another thing out for another 10 minutes. I was there for more than 1 1/2 hours and got tired and frustrated in the end I left (besides it was lunch) however on a good cordial note.. but I didn't get a good vibe. The "way too perky" sales assistant was also very annoying. Oh.. and the quote...started at 37xxx down to 28500 and won't budge and did not answer my questions about any other end game "fees" other than TTL. Didn't get anything back from Kirkland or Northwest.

The best quote I've gotten was from Dublin Honda just south of the San Fran Bay area for 27,200. Tempted to catch a flight with my cheque book.

My final analysis... I'm not picky on colour and with the inventory high in the area... and the "unremarkable" 08's due in late July/early August... my feeling is that there will be more incentives laid out to reduce inventory and I'm going to be on hold until July.

Love to hear what you find out! Happy hunting!

Here is the message I got from a local dealership in Northern Colorado today, June 23rd,2007:

"I want to make a deal with you so here is the best I can do. My net, net cost on a Pilot EX is $26,344.38.

I will sell it to you for my net, net cost plus my D & H of $399. Your price then is $26,743.38"

Is the net-net cost really $26,344.38? This number seems high to me. What is this dealer not disclosing? Your comments are very much appreciated. Thank you.
  • handymomhandymom Member Posts: 5
I just got home with my new EX-L (no NAV or RES) that I got for $26,740 which is $5800 off MSRP. They were very generous with my trade in too. Ray (internet sales manager) was unbelieveably great to work with. Everyone else at the dealership was great too. No high pressure, no tricks and a gift!....they threw in the cargo liner and a full tank of gas for free.

Tameron Honda refused to work with me earlier in the week because they didn't need to discount that deeply to sell the 35 Pilots sitting on their lot! Oh well, the 45 minute drive was worth it.

If you're in the market in Birmingham, call Ray, you won't be sorry!
  • tiburon41tiburon41 Member Posts: 3
Way high. My first offer from a PA dealership for an EX was $25,599. Destination made it $26,194. This dealership also offered other "coupons." The message above also indicated that you can get an EX-L for the same price you got offered for the EX.
  • tiburon41tiburon41 Member Posts: 3
Could you email me the price quote on that purchase? That's almost $1000 lower than the lowest price I've seen. Email me at tiburon41(at)gmail(dot)com.

    Thanks in advance!

Bought Pilot LX 2WD for $23400 OTD which include:
    - "Honda Appearence Package" (mud guard, wheel locks, door edge guards, fender well trim & pin stripe).
    - Life time warranty as long as you own the vehicle regardless of years or mileage for engine, transmission, drive axle system & internally lubricated parts.
    - $500 service coupon
  • uahmeduahmed Member Posts: 5
Thank you. The dealership is willing to lower prices further but need competitive quotes to go below $26K. This is not a problem as DCH Honda in NJ can provide one. Incidentally, the MSRP of a base 2007 Pilot 4WD EX is 31,540 so $26K out the door will be $5540 off sticker. Not a bad deal. There is only one dealer in all of Colorado who is willing to touch <26K. If anyone else in CO is looking to purchase a Pilot, feel free to ping me: suahmed@gmail.com

Shoutout to Birmingham buyers. I am looking for an 07 Pilot LX 2wd. So far I have heard nothing but praise towards Precision Honda. However I live closer to Tameron and my family had purchased vehicles there before so naturally I went to Tameron first. Out the door price was around $25,560. I told them I got $24,493.73(which I honestly did) from Townsend Honda. They did not believe me. They told me they would match the price "if" I could bring proof such as fax(which I now have). Should I ask for Ray at Precision and forget about Tameron? dbags, handymom, anybody?

** Dbags if you're out there reading this and since you bought the exact same car I want, How in the world did you get $23,300 out the door plus all those accessories you mentioned? How? That is absolutley impossible!
  • myrtbmyrtb Member Posts: 1
Which dealership is that and how did you do it? I've been looking for Honda Pilot LX 2wd as well
  • handymomhandymom Member Posts: 5
Tameron told me they would beat any price on paper too....I'll tell you what I told them. If a dealership sticks their neck out to sell at little to no profit to move the 2007's, why on earth would you go to another dealership that wouldn't? Tameron is so full of themselves and the fact that "they sell 250 cars a month and all the others sell what....30?" Let me tell you. The entire experience, including my visit to the dealership was better at Precision. It's smaller, less "slick" but just as modern. The biggest plus is there are less "sharks" waiting to pounce and start the Tameron BS. A 45 minute drive is worth driving away in your new car feeling like you bought it from real people, not "selling machines"

BTW - I had bought a used car from Tameron 8 years ago and was very pleased with the deal and the buying experience. Boy have things changed there. Hey Tameron - a little humility goes a long way.

Your other option is to wait another month. I have a feeling that Tameron isn't going to be able to move all 35+ Pilots they have before the 2008's arrive in early August. Even if they sell 250 cars a month, how many are Pilots? I have a feeling they are moving a lot more Civics, Accords and CR-V's than anything else.
  • vhreb123vhreb123 Member Posts: 83
So handymom, you think I could get a LX Pilot for less than $24000 otd at Precision based on your experience there?
I don't mind waiting till next month to buy. Maybe I could get the best deal in July anyways.

DCH Honda of Paramus NJ on 23-Jun-07: LX 4WD 23,587 + 595 Dest.; EX 4WD 25,839 + 595; EX-L 4WD 27,870 + 595; EX-L 4WD w/Ent 29,870 + 595. Negotiated EX-L 4WD w/ Ent for 29,439 + 595 + minor options + tax/etc. Done Deal. Extremely pleasant experience; no surprises. LX & EX were quoted in e-mail initiated thru Edmunds and held true at dealership. Best prices were 3.5-4.5% above Consumer Reports Bottom Line. Observation: they're overstocked on Desert Rock color and immediately offered to drop another $150 then $200 for this color (which we didn't like).
  • uahmeduahmed Member Posts: 5
Very informative post, thank you. Congratulations on your purchase. Since you have Consumer Reports bottom-line pricing, can you email what CR states is the bottom-line price for Pilot EX 4WD and Pilot EX-L 4WD without any additional options? Many thanks.

I'm also in Seattle area and haven't yet started asking for detail quote. I was waiting for 08 launch and wanted to see if there is any difference. I can probably wait till Dec.

What people are buying now? since '08 designs are out. Are they holding and buy 08' since there is not too much difference?

Another qns. I have, Can pilot have both RES & NAV together? I needed the pilot with NAV but on the other hand I have two kids and I want to keep them quiet in rear seat:)

    Thanks

Based on the valuable information I got from this forum I purchased 2007 Honda Pilot EX-L 2WD (No Nav no RES) this morning. I paid $28000 OTD. This includes Wheel locks, Mudguards, Cargo Tray, Interior protection and one year free servicing.
