I bought it from Sons Honda in Griffing GA. Take your best quote and I'm sure they will beat it. I'm heard others getting best deal from Sons as well.

Just bought a Steel Blue Honda Pilot EX-L, 4x4, leather, moonroof, no navi, no dvd for price as follows:

    $26,499 (below invoice, includes destination)
    + $699 (running boards)
+ $235 (cross bars for roof)
    + 8.25% CA tax
    + fees

    Total $30,007 OTD.

I declined LoJack (negotiated to $1100), 7 yr. extended warranty (got them down to $1200 with AAA pricing), interior/exerior protection, gap insurance ($395), etc. Maybe a little risk with the short 3 year warranty, but I trust Hondas & won't park in shady areas.

I've been looking at Pilots (and been quoted) for about 2 weeks & this guy (Henry, internet & fleet sales) beat the rock bottom by $400+. He gave a quote over the phone, then no b/s or change of plans when I arrived, he even drove to the competing dealer to get me the color I wanted the same day, and stayed late on a Sunday to be sure we walked away with our car that day.

I went to another dealer (Concord Honda) earlier in the day who kept me on the lot for 1 hour after all I asked for was to see 2 different colored Pilots side by side before I make any decisions. I got the run around through 3 of their different lots while he was selling me on features I initially said I didn't want (I was very specific to them...but it was like in one ear, out the other). I never ended up seeing the color I wanted because they never had it.

Based on my range of experiences, which gave me good perspective, I would highly recommend Livemore Honda for their internet pricing and no hassle sales.

Sherwood Honda had the lowest offer initially - $22,594.17 Out the door for an LX

Holman Honda of Fort Lauderdale: $20,988, or $22,858.11 OTD

Brickell Motors‎ "NEW 2007 Honda Pilot LX; Retail Price $ 28,840.00 Internet Price $21,243.00" (before taxes and fees)

Potamkin Honda: “We guarantee to beat any price from any dealer as long as you bring it to me in writing”.

So you have a competitive number to work with the Honda LX 2 WD without tax, tag and fees is....$21,638.96 your choice of colors.

Coral Springs Honda didn’t give me a quote but promised to beat other quotes.

Maroone Honda’s lowest OTD price was $23,349.

Started with Sherwood Honda, but since I was trying to get the best price for my trade in, I shopped around for a while. If you don’t have a trade in and have cash on hand it’s easy: get as many quotes as you can via email from internet sales managers (submit quote requests from http://automobiles.honda.com/pilot/ or other sites) and then play dealers asking to beat each other’s quote. If you have a trade in, the game continues: have your blue-book trade in value printouts ready. Once they offer less than half for your old car, negotiate and be ready to walk out. Most likely they will up the offer at the door or will give you a call soon after. See other dealers if you have the rest of the day free. Of course, make sure the dealer has the vehicle he’s promising in stock (get vin #s). Read other posts in this group – it helped me a lot. And since I already got my Pilot, I will be lurking in the accessories group now. Good luck

Can anyone tell me the best price they have received on a new Pilot in Texas. I've seen better prices on here that I have been able to get from the dealers I have dealt with.

Could you please tell me who you dealt with at Howdy. They quoted me $29,9XXfor an EXL w/o nav or res.
  • dbtdbt Member Posts: 298
I'd recommend checking with Gunn Honda in San Antonio. One of the internet salespeople there is very active on other boards (see forum related to Honda's engine) & helpful. I'm not local, but from what I hear, Gunn has great pricing in Texas.
  • gopilot1gopilot1 Member Posts: 10
I did some research about buying down in TX because the pricing is so good...I'd agree that Howdy (in Austin, TX)was very good. They had some great pricing (even cheaper to fly down and drive up to WA). But didn't want to break in a new car that way.

There is a salesperson there that I spoke with and emailed me a quote if interested you can email me and I'll forward the info.

Another great place that I found in TX to work with (keep in mind I didn't actually complete the trasaction) was Goodson Honda West (Houston) and I'd agree with the other post that Gunn Honda in San Antonio has agressive pricing as well. Good luck Pilot buyers...these deals are just killing living up here in WA!!!

I have been quoted a drive out price of $27,650 for a 2WD EX-L in Atlanta.

Opinions on that price? Good deal? Mediocre?
  • cyclone6cyclone6 Member Posts: 8
I live in Waco and shopping pretty heavy right now. I have several internet quotes of $26,000 to $26,200 plus TTL for a 2wd EXL and about $24,000 plus TTL for an EX. I will drive to Dallas/Ft Worth, Austin, Houston, or San Antonio and points in between for the best deal. The best deals all seem to be pretty close in quotes with some dealers being way too high. I guess they don't need to sell a vehicle. The dealer in Waco wouldn't even come down from a quote of $27,000 on a 2wd EXL demo model with over 7,000 miles plus they were rude. Go figure that one. I have never understood a business model where you made money by not selling something???

I just bought a brand new 2007 4wdr ELX with DVD including destination charges for $29000 which was approximately $3200 under invoice. the dealers are getting 3500 to clear the 2007 models so they are pretty willing to negotiate. it took about 3 minutes to negotiate the price. This was in Madison NJ. if you really play hardball you may do even better than I did but I thought $29k was good value. Hope this helps.
  • jjennings1jjennings1 Member Posts: 2
See my previous email below. Just bought a brand new 2007 ELX 4wdr with DVD for 29000 including destination charges from Madison Honda in Madison NJ. this was $3200 under dealer invoice which is most of the $3500 incentive they are paying the dealers to get rid of the 2007 models. there aren't that many 07's left and I could not find one with Navi. good luck

I've got a deal in the works with Gillman in Fort Bend,Houston area. The are going to go for $3500 off invoice, $26041. They have pin stripping, wheel locks and window tint added at the dealer. He said their regular price on those items are $643, He said if I would pay their cost at $321. Any thoughts

    LX 4x4 - 22,446
    LX 2x4 - 21,397

    Napelton Honda

I think it is a pretty good price you got there. Unfortunately, Nor CA dealers do not give $6500-7000 off MRSP as other people getting from other state.
  • big10bbbig10bb Member Posts: 10
Valley Honda quoted me a price of $23,551 on the 2WD EX, but when it came time to buy, they wanted to add $500-600 for dealer add ons (pinstripes, mud guards, wheel locks etc.) They will DRAG THEIR FEET!!!

I ended up getting an EX 2WD for $23,343 plus TTL (no surprises) at Joliet Honda. Also, I could have went with the 4WD it was in the range of the quotes you received.
  • oldbirdoldbird Member Posts: 6
I went to Valley Honda 3 weeks ago. They gave me $28,300 for EXL 4WD. I asked for the $3,500 incentive. The salesman insisted no such thing. I walked out.
  • hals2hals2 Member Posts: 9
Honda does not have cash back to customers. What they had on the Pilot was $3500 cash incentives to the dealer. This money is included in your negotiated price. In some ways this is better than cash back, as the customer does not have to pay tax on it. However this does not mean that the dealer could not have given a slightly better price. That is always possible.

I got a similiar deal to what others hear have posted. I bought a 2007 EX-L 4WD, gray for $26056. Dealer Doc fees were a little high, $599, but it at least included appearance package (mud gaurds, and wind deflector for sun roof, etc). Other fees are state stuff, tax of 6%, plus $3 and $18 title.
However 4WD Pilots are just about gone in Georgia. Less than 20 in whole state left.
At first I did not want gray, wanted blue or silver, but the gray grew on me, and we went with it instead.
I recommend Team Honda in Litha Springs. They are far above any dealer I have ever dealt with.

Are you the GM of Valley Honda? Sounds like the words I heard from there. The point is the business has to be honest to a customer. If Honda did give incentive, the salesman has to say "yes" instead of "no".

    >>Honda does not have cash back to customers. What they had >>on the Pilot was $3500 cash incentives to the dealer. >>This money is included in your negotiated price. In some >>ways this is better than cash back, as the customer does >>not have to pay tax on it. However this does not mean >>that the dealer could not have given a slightly better >>price. I have been quoted 27,000 for AWD 2007 Pilot EXL from a dealer that has 12 miles on it. They also have a dealer driven EXL (same specs except for running boards) that has 2500 miles on it. Any ideas on how much I should try to talk them down from the 27000 because of the miles? Thanks for any assistance.
  • smileyspeoplesmileyspeople Member Posts: 3
Anybody have any information on whether there will be new incentives and what they might be?

Someone said that last year there was $3500 dealer incentive AND low apr - do you get just one or can you combine them (yes, I know it's up to the dealer whether and how much of their incentive they'll pass on).

Many thanks - I'm thinking of waiting until the beginning of August to see if anything new comes up.
  • homerj227homerj227 Member Posts: 21
Waiting may help your incentives, just make sure there are 2007s left in your area. There were literally 1 or 2 maximum (and zero) and most of the dealers around here.
  • orsonrorsonr Member Posts: 5
Have been monitoring this board for a while...finally bought EX-L AWD with Navigation last night....there are very few left and the color choices are next to nothing:
    drabby silver
    slightly better gray
    black

So, if you have been waiting, might not want to wait too much longer since the 3500 incentive is making lots of sales and the dealers want to move the 2007s now because the 2008s are hitting their lots.

I'm buying an EX-L, put a deposit down for a dealer trade to get the color I want and now I'm just WAITING. It's been almost 2 weeks, the salesman said they were short-handed last week. Then "There are 2 managers on this week, so it should be soon. "

This isn't sitting right with me -- Does this sound reasonable to anyone else? At first he was telling me they should get it in 3-5 days. What's really going on??

I purchased a new 2007 EXL 4WD last night from Honda of Concord. It was Desert Rock Metallic and included the moon roof visor, wheel locks, and mud guards. I requested a quote through their website and received a fair quote within several minutes. I paid $26,727 + 399 doc. + TTL, out the door price (OTD) was $28,000.81. I was given additional quotes of $24,778 + doc + TTL for an EX 4WD and $25,677 + doc + TTL for an EXL 2WD. This dealer is approximately 70 miles from my home, but the price and quality service which I received justified driving past other Honda dealers.

I requested quotes for a 2007 EXL 4WD from multiple dealers. In my request for quotes, I stated ‘I would like to purchase a 2007 Pilot as soon as possible. (White EXL 4x4 is pref.) This is a cash transaction with no trade, I am contacting as many dealers as necessary in order to obtain the best price. My desire is to pay Invoice + TTL (or less). Please contact me, if interested.’ The results of my quote requests were:

    • Honda of Concord - $26,727 + 399 doc. + TTL. They had 8 of this model/trim level in stock. This dealership contacted me immediately.
    • Leith Honda of Raleigh - Quoted no actual price, stated 'We are willing to do $200 under invoice. But we only have Dark Cherry left in the 2007 model.'
    • Asheboro Honda – $26,990 + TTL. They did not indicate what their available 2007 stock was.
    • Hendrick Honda of Charlotte – 27,811 + $399 doc + TTL, OTD of $29,113.33.
    • Honda Cars Rock Hill – ‘I do not have a white Pilot EXL 4x4 in stock. I can sell an in stock Pilot for 29000 + tax, tag, and doc fee. If this will work for you let me know.’
    • AutoPark Honda in Cary – ‘I don’t have this car. I probably can’t get it for you either.’
    • Honda of Lake Norman – Received quote of $25,995 + destination fee + TTL + doc fee + dealer installed accessories. Limited to available stock. The OTD price would be $27,862 and includes mud flaps and wheel locks. I received this quote after I already made my purchase.
    • Gerry Wood Honda – Received an email: ‘Thank you for giving us a opportunity to earn your business. What trim level are you looking for? LX, EX, EX-L, EX-L RES, or EX-L R&N? Please advise so I can give you a quote. ‘. I guess that they didn’t read my request.
    • Everhart Honda – I received a reply that they had received my request, but I never received a quote.
    • Burlington Honda – Received an email: ‘we are out of 2007 Pilots, and as they are getting pretty scarce everywhere, obtaining one from another dealer may not be possible.’
    • Van York Honda – No reply to my request.
    • John Hoover Honda – No reply to my request.
    • Nelson Honda – No reply to my request.
    • Tim Marburger Honda – Unable to request a quote online. The website was not accessible.
    • Sanford Honda - Unable to request a quote online. The website was not accessible.
    • Steve Jones Honda – No reply to my request.

In order to get the deal that I wanted, I had to contact as many dealers as I could and then wait to hear back from them. I took this approach because the Honda dealer which I previously purchased from was unwilling to give me a fair deal. I purchased a new S2000 in 2005 from Flow Honda in Winston-Salem. I contacted them initially and was given a quote of $28,118.00 + $399 doc + TTL (OTD of $29,433.54). I informed them that I thought that this amount was too much. They then offered a second quote of $27,408 00 + $399 doc + TTL (OTD of $28,702.24). I sent an email reply to this second quote and I told them that I thought that this was still too much. I explained that I felt that I should be able to obtain this ‘close-out’ vehicle at or near the invoice price, not $700 above invoice. Several minutes after I sent the reply to their second offer, I received a call from the general manager of the dealership. He told me, in a very unkind way, that his dealership was in business for profit and that he would not sell for less than his second quoted offer. I’ll keep my personal thoughts regarding the general manager and his actions to myself, but I will say that he and his dealership are not interested in offering a fair deal to informed consumers and that I will have no further dealings with Flow Honda of Winston-Salem, for purchases or servicing, in the future.

The good that came from what happened is it led me to perform a more extensive search for the vehicle. I was able to locate, receive a fair quote and agree to purchase the vehicle within a couple of hours. I did this by simply contacting every Honda dealer, starting with the ones closest to my home and working out in all directions.

I hope that this information helps anyone looking for a 2007 Pilot and I’d like to thank those who have posted their purchase experiences on this forum. The help which I received from Edmunds and this forum made my purchase a pleasure.

I don't like the sound of it. If they string you along for too long, you will not be able to go somewhere that can get you what you want, b/c the 2007s are drying up. The theory is, by then, you're going to have to take what they have, b/c apparently, they don't have what you want.

A dealer in the Chicago area did that to me to a lesser extent, I dropped them immediately and bought elsewhere.

Just my opinion. I had good luck at honda Superstore of Joliet.

    Best wishes.

"I'm buying an EX-L, put a deposit down for a dealer trade to get the color I want and now I'm just WAITING. It's been almost 2 weeks, the salesman said they were short-handed last week. Then "There are 2 managers on this week, so it should be soon. "

I went to a dealer in Southern California and they had 5 Pilots, I was looking for EX-L Desert Rock color, they did not have the color, all 5 were grey and silver. The slaesman told me that those 5 were the last of the 2007 that they have and would give me a good deal on any of them. I told him I wanted Desert Rock color and started walking to my car to leave. He came after me and said that he will see if they had any more Pilots in the back. We wlaked through the Service gate and in the back they had atleast 20 Pilots of all colors. Another dealer in Southern California did the same thing, they had 6 in their lot, and when I started to leave the salesman siad he will check if they had more on the roof, we went upstaris and the salesman acted like he was shocked to discover that they had about fifteen of them on the roof.

At the discounts they are giving now, some dealers are trying to push some cars out by not showing the buyer all the Pilots they got. Some may actually out of them and not playing these games.

thanks. do you mind telling me who your other quotes were from? I live in a 7% county so that accounts for some of the difference ($270) or so.

One dealer who gave me a decent quote told me the prices were going up after the 31st. not sure if this is a tactic to get me to buy or the truth. Availability seems to be drying up.

Just got an 07 EX-L from Gillman Honda of Fort Bend for $25,325 with pin stripes, wheel locks, and splash guards. GH-FB is not a big dealership, but Gillman owns numerous dealerships and thus has pretty good resources. GH-FB did not have the color I wanted but promised to find it. The salesman, Bill Cockerell, never asked for a deposit or anything, and we talked on the phone at least once a day to stay updated. It took a couple of days, but then Bill called and said he had found one and prepped it and it was available to inspect. Again, never asked for any $$ or signature. I didn't have to ask about the Honda 'marketing support' to get an outstanding price. I walked on the lots of a couple of other Honda dealerships in Houston (David McDavid, Russell & Smith, Gillman Southwest) and was offered $1000 discount here and $1200 there, but nothing near the $6800 discount from GH-FB. Bill Cockerell is a great guy and very comfortable to do business with, like a favorite uncle. We never caught him being inconsistent, like some of the salemen mentioned above ('That's our last one. Well, yeah, not counting those thirty you see behind the fence'). My wife is still talking about what a great guy he is, and I agree. We couldn't be happier. Great deal, great car, terrific salesman and a pleasant experience for us. We will without reservation recommend Bill at GH-FB and hope we can do more business with him in the future.

As I suggested in my message #9510 of this forum, posted a couple weeks ago, get out there quick, if you want a particular color/package. Don't wait til Monday/Tuesday (end of month). Otherwise, you'll be looking at very limited choices.

    Sons Honda: $26850 DO
    Hennessey Honda: $27100 DO
    Conyers Honda: $27348 DO

All three included Mud Guards and Pin strips.

As far as sales guy telling you about incentives going away on 31st, I cant say, but you should be careful of the sales gimmics. One dealer closest to my house told me to bring my best quote and he will beat it, but would not give me a quote over the email, I X-ed him from the list. After I bought the car another dealer told me he would have included DVD for little more then what I bought my Pilot EX-L for. But his original quote was the 2nd highest of 6 quotes I got.
  • cbrunson1cbrunson1 Member Posts: 30
    07 EX-L 25,725
    tax 1,608
    title 43
    plates 62
    inspection fee 24
    deputy fee 5
    dealer's inv. tax 56

this is off the buyer's order. I don't claim to know what the inspection fee or deputy fees are, and I assume they're fees/taxes peculiar to Texas/Houston, but that's pretty small potatoes as far as I'm concerned. We're thrilled. I think I actually paid less for this Pilot than I did for my 01 EX-L Passport purchased new 6 1/2 years ago!
