2016 Kia Sorento Lease Questions

Salesperson just thought I was crazy asking about the $5k lease cash lol. Would these unadvertised lease cash deals just be Incorporated into the "sales" prices for a quote and just not specifically called out? I saw an SXL, $42k MSRP, 38k online quoted selling price, am I really thinking I'll be able to get another $5k off with the lease cash? Just slightly confused how they work. Thanks!

Ideally, that's how is should work .... negotiate your best price, then apply the lease cash. That incentive doesn't come out of the dealers pocket, so they should be willing to pass it along to you.

Remember that there are different incentives for purchase vs. lease, so the online price may include those incentives that wouldn't be eligible.

Hi! Looking at Sorento SLX 2WD V6. MSRP 42805 Sales Price: 37968 inc 210.00 doc fees. Not including taxes and etc.

Also let's look at SX 2WD V6. MSRP: 38300 Sales Price: 35608, same as above inc 210 doc fees.

Interested in payment, if possible? 24month lease OR 36 month lease is fine at 12/yr. Can I assume that I can figure the lease cash into the payment to arrive at a final payment?

FWD SX V6 - .00137 and 58%. $3400 lease cash
FWD SXL V6 - .00136 and 54%. $5100 lease cash

24/12 numbers:
FWD SX V6 - .00118 and 63%. $4500 lease cash
FWD SXL V6 - .00125 and 59%. $6500 lease cash

Lease cash can be used to offset the up front costs of the lease, or to lower the negotiated price.

Looking at Optima and Sorento. I just posted in Optima forum. Looking at SX & SXL, both 2-seat 2.0T FWD, at 36/12. If lease cash is much better at 24/12, may consider that too. Thanks @Michaell.

Edit, I just remembered SX is v6 only. Let's add EX 2.0T to the mix and also quote SX v6.

Can I get the MF and residual for both 2.0t and 3.3 v6 SXL AWD with Tech package? Northern VA area. 15k miles. Will the 24 month term ever beat 36 mos with the additional dealer cash above? 

Theres a 2.0t dealer demo (never titled) in the area with 6k miles marked down pretty heavily. Will that affect the residual or how many miles they'll allow?

2.0t - .00142 and 51%.
V6 - .00153 and 53%

You would have to run the numbers for both lease terms to see which is better.

On the demo unit, the residual would be adjusted downward on a per mile basis. It is somewhere in the neighborhood of $.15-$.25 per mile

Dealer refused to lease the demo. Claimed it had been marked as manager demo car for over a year, that the warranty had already started, and it's a complete pain in the [non-permissible content removed] for the dealer to get Kia to sell it as a new lease. I found a new identical car that's competitively priced at another dealer, so I'm not going to push it.

Apparently Kia isn't as used to leasing demos as other brands.

I am going in tomorrow to negotiate a new Sorento lease. Could use some advice. Ultimately I would like to end up with a payment in the $350-375 range for a 3 year/12,000 mile per lease. Based on some early research it seems that I am most likely looking at an LX. I want the V6 engine for sure. I am also hoping to do a sign and drive (roll everything into the lease). The MSRP on an LX FWD with V6 is around $30,300. Local dealer is advertising their best price as $28,380. If we subtract the $2,600 lease cash from this we are at $25,700. Adding tax, fees, etc is my target payment of $350-375 feasible?

Our guess is that the $1500 is for purchases only and can't be combined with the lease cash.

The 2017s are on the lot now here. I saw car connection said lease cash was now $4K on the SXL. Fine print said could not be combined w $1500 but could be combined w military, grad and loyalty. Didn't see the loyalty incentive anywhere but the veteran and grad cash are on their site. I'm guessing holdback has increased as well because my local dealer is advertising $5K off standard MSRP and then adding $1500 cash back on top of that for purchase.

What does the lease cash consist of?  Are these hidden dealer incentives?  I don't see these listed on the Kia website or local dealer sites.  Are they the same in NY?

Lease cash is a factory to dealer incentive; dealer can choose to pass it to the customer, in whole or in part.

Use the knowledge to negotiate your best deal.

The tax amount seems high - in NY, tax is applied to the sum of the payments, not the entire selling price.

And, is this the 4-cylinder or the V6? Numbers are different.

I'd ask the dealer for a full accounting of the $3K due at signing .. the acquisition fee and first payment need to be accounted for, as well.

Hi Everyone! I am going to be negotiating a 2016 2.0T SXL AWD soon for my father and wanted to know the numbers for 24/12 (I don't think Kia does a 24/10) and 36/10 & 12.
