Great "dealer" experience - did the whole thing via Cars Direct.com. They delivered the car to my house. 10 min worth of paper work.
I like the ride, xenon head lights, NAV is cool. The backup camera is too cool, it even has the guide lines to indicate how close you are to an object. The stereo is good and sub woofer is nice. I love it so far.
Thanks for all the feedback on this forum.

Made the deal the monday after Xmas for $150 over invoice. Pleasent dealer experience at Frost Nissan in Newton MA. What a great vehicle!
They are quoting $31,500
I have bad negative equity on my trade:
Ford Ranger 03 32,000 miles
Owes $17,650
They say they are giving 11,000.00 for it.
Nissan Dealer (sip 75150) quoted $550/mo for 3 year, 15,000 miles lease with $3,000 down.
Also, I read in the forum that it's not wise to put a lot down on leased vehicle.
Am I completely getting into a wrong deal?
I'd appreciate your help so very much.
With the destination charge, any price under $26,120 would put a smile on my face based on my research.
I would advise all to take advantage of special pricing from places such as AAA or Costco. If your going to buy a car, join Costco, AAA or something similar first.
Also, I discovered there was a monopoly in my area. 2 primary dealers consisting of about 7 stores owned by the same company. Dealer A didn't really care if you want to Dealer B since they were owned by the same company.
When I researched pricing in a nearby county with about a dozen Nissan Dealers, I discovered the price was about $500 less.
Great Vehicle so far.
We are planning on purchasing one soon from Fairoaks Nissan in Gurnee and it is great to get real pricing numbers from a near by dealer to help with the neg. process.

The bottom line is unless I hear from the local Nissan field rep by the end of the day, I am taking this to the State Attorney General.
Anyone else have the same experience?
Anyone had a chance to see how stripped this is? Could not find any in the Metro Detroit - Nissan dealers inventory, to see and test.
I also wonder if gas mileage is still so poor on this version, as it is for SL???
Price showing on edmunds looks pretty appealing...but how stripped off this car this?
Thank you,
Dan
What!
Where did you here it's poor. It's probably one of the better in it's class for gas mileage.
They claim 20/25. In reality I've been averaging 18-19 and 23-24. No complaints.
Check Nissan's website --nissanusa.com -- for specs on S version. Of course, it depends on your definition of "stripped", but my feeling is that the S model is well-equipped. Dealer inventories here in Chicago show a fair number of Ss (Esses? what's the plural for this?) in stock.

And read the other messages posted on this forum, regarding this issue.
Just FYI, a bulkier Dodge Caravan, that does not incorporate the best engine in its class, no VVT-i, no aluminum block and cylinder heads, no DOHC,no CVT tranny, no premium fuel, gets an average of 22-23 mpg. Just for that ,and Murano's MPG is very poor....in its class.
Even Engineers @ NTCNA in Farmington Hills, Mi, are aware of this issue. Seams that CVT is demanding the extra gas, instead of reducing the consumption...hmm,not quite what's advertised about CVT...
Why pay the extra for the Murano then?
Dealers in Metro Detroit are still selling full loaded Muranos... I guess demand is high and that explain high profits Nissan had last year
Things it doesn't have -
Automatic headlight - fog lights - high intensity lights - adjustable headlights - auto dimming rearview mirror - sun roof
It only has a 1 disc/am/fm radio with four speakers but sounds surprisingly good.
I'm in KY and paid right at 28,000 before tax. Not the best deal but I think it was average.
I don't know about the milage yet but think it will get 18 - 20 city. I'm still figuring out how to drive it best. It has a Drive - S feature that I'm unsure of.
It does have adjustable drivers seat (6 position I think) - adjustable foot pedals - duel side AC - heated side mirrors - All Wheel Drive - rear cargo net, tray and cover - The standard floating dash display - various electronic trip computers and display items that I haven't figured out yet.
Over all, I really like it. Very comfortable, stylish, and fun to drive. Just hope I remember to turn on my headlights!
26350 after a lot of arguing. The dealing got kinda nasty there for a while. The dealer wanted to play with us, and my wife was not amused. No worries though, 100 over invoice (according to Edmunds and the dealer slip) is a good deal I think for an 05.
We love the Mo, and it looks a lot like my 350z! They look cute together in the garage.
Here is what I got from them:
05 SL FWD with Touring Package, Mobile Entertainment System, Floor Mats, Splash Guards and Cargo Protector. This came to $32,340. Invoice on this would have been $32,780 or so.
Here is my advice when going to any dealer. Go in with numbers in hand. Nissan Dealers get a $600 hold back on Muranos right now. This means that they are paying Invoice - $600. When you negotiate, tell them you know about the hold back, and that you want a portion of this. Some dealers are willing to deal, others aren't.
Endicott also gave me +$350 over Kelley B.B. on my trade in, another thing most dealers won't do. It seems they are more interested in moving cars by numbers, not by sale price.
Finally, without the DVD player (post factory installed), I would have payed $30,540 (Touring package and other accessories included). I gave them $1800 for the DVD player installation (something, that I could have had at another for $1350, but was paying about $2K more to buy it there).
Bottom line, have your numbers prepaired. If anybody wants to have the spread sheet I printed out and took to the dealer, I will give it to you. The only thing you will have to re-calculate and edit are your taxes and trade in numbers. You can also adjust your invoice price, sale price, etc... as you feel necessary. But if you go in and tell them somebody else gave you a "this price", and the price is below the $600 hold back, the dealer will know you are lying to him.

there after i bought mine from Suntrup and he told me he would of sold it to me
for 500 cheaper than what i paid from them..So that would of been 1500 under
invoice. In the St.
Louis area you should be able to get 3% under invoice. Lou Fusz and Suntrup
offered both to me.
Thanks.

Does anyone have any figures on how much they paid for their Murano SL FWD Base in Austin or Houston TX?
Intellichoice says the target price is $26,400, which is $200 above invoice. Also read about the $600 dealer kick back, so I hope I can get it at that price.
Any help would be appreciated...
Is there anything different or new to the 05,that would warrant buying an 05 over the leftover 04?? My money is tight,so this is my main concern.
Thanks in advance.

MSRP: $35,740
Invoice: $32,592
I paid: $31,799
Note that there is a $920 dealer holdback on the Murano (at this dealership anyway).
I bought the car from Tri-State Nissan in Winchester, Virginia, about a two-hour drive from Washington, DC. I HIGHLY recommend this dealership. They are straight shooters and my buying experience was extremely easy. I was in and out of the dealer in about an hour and a half.
I recommend gathering price quotes over the Internet before you actually go out to buy. I used the Nissan web site to check inventory at around 10-15 dealerships in the DC area. I then e-mailed them (through the site) to obtain quotes on specific cars in their stock. In the e-mail, I noted that I was aware of the dealer holdback (but didn't specify the exact amount). I received about 6 or 7 quotes, most of them under invoice. I then used these quotes as chips between dealers to get even lower quotes. The whole process took about 3 or 4 hours... mostly checking e-mail messages while doing other things. Very easy and painless.
I also got the extended warranty for zero deductible 60 mo/ 75K miles with roadside assist, etc., theft gard, inside and outside protection, accident insurance, GAP insurance for $31/mo for 60 months. They wanted $70/mo for it initially without the inside/outside protection, but Ihaggled it down...
So, I'm really pleased with the service at Maxwell Town North Nissan, from Edzine. He was totally no hassle, also because he's the Internet Sales Manager.
The only thing they nessed up was the monthly payment calculations, which were $50/mo over...
I was asking my dealer if they had one, and he said yes, and that they Scotchguard the interior, and coat the exterior with some stuff to make it warrantied for 5 years against decreasing lustre.
However, I can't find it anywhere on Nissan's website.
It's been my personal experience that I can buy a can of scotchguard and apply it myself on the interior and that I can also wash and wax my own vehicle.
A lot depends on your personal habits. Do you care enough about your vehicles to wash them weekly and wax it twice a year? If so, then I'd say save your money.
Thankfully in my case, he threw it in for free, along with the 5 year warranty on paint and interior stains.
Better yet, if I cancel my extended warranty package, I still get to keep this, the gap insurance, and the 3 year dent repair.
I've heard Honda has some sort of Simoline Teflon coating that makes it impossible to for dirt or sap to stick to the paint surface.
We just purchased a 2004 Murano with 6K miles on it....SL AWD, touring and VDC packages for $29.895 (no financing) at Northshore Nissan in Highland Park, Il. We highly recommend this dealer. Only issue was the trade in which we sold privately, getting far more for it than any dealer offered. We also test drove the Toyota Highlander Limited....not nearly as luxurious inside and the ride was not as good on the exact same piece of highway.
Cheers!
Sent out e-mail to three dealerships I visited plus some others in my area, Orange County, CA. What I got back was
responses saying they have found one car like the one I want for 38,590 MSRP. Has my bargaining power gone down since it appears they are all trying to obtain the same car? How do I approach this?
Thanks for any help

First time to this forum.
I got a 05 SE AWD yesterday. Did some research from carbuyingtips.com, kbb, edmunds. Got the touring, technology and dynamic control package besides the regular splash guard, cargo area protector &floor mats. The dealer had already done the window etching on all new cars, so ended pay $300 for it.
Invoice price on the car on edmunds and kbb is $35700. Got it for $35k. Total in road is nearly $38K.
Does it sound like a good deal?
Thanks
I'd appreciate the replies.
