The car was on weekly ad so I'm sure it was a loss leader but they had many other Muranos on the lot. I'm really suprised that they would not match the offer from Dublin. I wish you luck in your search. Let me know if I can be any help.
$800 under invoice is what I bought my new 2004 AWD Polished Pewter SE, but I drove it home 2 hours after finalizing the price via email.
What area of the country do you live in? Did you use Nissan's online inventory search to see if the vehicle you want is anywhere in the area? I found my vehicle (actually my wife's vehicle) online, wrote down the VIN number, and negotiated the price with the dealer that had the vehicle.
A 12 week wait seems like an awfully long time to wait for a vehicle that, at least in the San Francisco Bay Area, seems relatively plentiful in all flavors.
I hope you were just having some fun with us. Nobody should have to patiently wait 12 weeks for their new baby to arrive.

I could not get a dealer in the Cleveland area to move under invoice for 04' or 03'. Even demo 03's that had between 4900 and 7900 miles. Most dealers around here had 2 or 3 AWD 03' on their lots, maybe 5-8 04's. I found a large dealer in Michigan (90 miles) with 8 new 03's with no mileage and their first offer was $500 under invoice. I did a little better in the end, and much better than any dealership locally. I did all my research on the Nissan website as suggested here. I did all my negotiating with the dealerships Internet Sales Manager. The Internet salespeople are now the top sellers at most dealerships I have found out. I love this car - today, I'll keep you all posted as the months and years go by.
I guess my final thought are: research on the internet then deal with the internet sales manager at the largest dealership that has the car you're looking for. This will get you your best price. Of course, if buying locally has a value to you, you must determine how much value that is. This method saved me $2600 considering the price and financing and I couldn't be happier. Thanks for all the postings.
I believe that is high price for a 03 Murano. You have to remember that many 04 Muranos are selling for invoice price. The value of 03 Muranos is at least 1000 less than invoice price as they have already lost their value by staying on the dealership lot. At least that was the price quoted to me by a dealer in Greensboro, NC. I did not buy it as I did not like the color. His final offer was $26000 for a sL 2wd with premium package and mud flaps, roof rack and cargo protector and he asked me to put a $500 deposit to finalise the deal. He even asked me to take it home overnight as test drive. I hated the black interior so I declined. I think a good price would be anything under $28000.I hope this helps. BTW the invoice price for 03 Murano you mentioned is $29430 according to Kelly blue book.So try to shoot for a price of 28000 or less. 0.9% Financing would be sweet.
2003 SL FWD Black
They are offering invoice + $100.
The model they have (the only 03 left) already has leather (beige) package (also moonroof, cargo cover, bose 6 cd in dash 7 speaker, etc.). They said they will simply throw it in.
The car has 513 miles on it.
So, all this for $26000 + dest and taxes.
I have not yet driven the car. But I would certainly take it on an extensive drive before even thinking of pulling the trigger.
Seemes very good to me, but wanted some feedback.
Thanks!
Mike
I Just took home a brand new White Murano SL 2wd with premium package, mud guards, cargo protector and floor mats. I also purchased a extended warranty for 6 years. Out of the door price including tax, registration, title, extended warranty and the rest of the crap was $29900.00. Just wanted to share the experience of buying a Murano at High Point Nissan, NC compared to my recent experience at Vann York Toyota just down the road. The difference was unbelievable! The Nissan guys were so much better in all areas. Got the vehicle I wanted at the price I was willing to pay and the salesman went to extraordinary length to make sure I got what I wanted. Special thanks to salesman and manager at High Point Nissan who worked very hard to find the vehicle I wanted. They had to ship one from Columbus,OH and trade in one of theirs in exchange! I would highly recommend anyone to buy their vehicle at this dealership. Just very friendly and honest which is a rare commodity with car salesmen these days. I was so impressed I am considering selling my brand new Highlander(Good vehicle but very uncomfortable seats) and buy a black Murano with similar package. The one that I bought today was seized by my wife who drove it and said she found the vehicle she was looking for and I was left with the Highlander! Anyway it has been a fun day so far but Murano beats the highlander hands down in all areas except maybe in reliability where it does not yet have the same track record of the Highlander. Only time will tell whether the Murano will be as reliable as the Highlander or Honda Pilot.

Please let me know if you're aware of any special financing that Nissan has. Your help is really appreciated.
For more info on what I did see my previous posts starting Dec. 26th.

-Cargo Protector $54.00

Invoice Price $31,862.00
Thanks for the advise.
My quote included Dynamic Control package. The invoice is $32,532. So I got about $273 under invoice. Still, sound like I could do better.
I'll take your advise on checking the car I like on Nissan website.
Someone priced out the individual components from a Nissan dealer's parts department and came up with something like $5,000 to add it later.
Better off trading in your current unit and getting one with the NAV in it.

-Nissan Murano SE + Navigation ($46,533.00)
-Admin Fee($195)
-Dealers options ($900):
Cross Bars, Ski Attachements, Cargo Mat, Bumper Mat, Hood Deflector, Sunroof Deflector, Winter Mats, Winter Wipers
-Freight ($981)
-Air Cond Tax ($100)
-Fuel Tax ($75)
The sunroof comes with the Touring package so you'd need the wind deflector.
By my calculations from Nissan web site:
MSRP 28,200
PREM 4,300
MAT 80
cover 70
splash 100
DEST 560
Wind Def 70
Total 33,380
(I didn't include the pin stripe since that's all dealer profit anyhow.)
This means your getting a dsicount of $2400 off msrp or about 7.25%. You can do better.
Try going to CarMax's website and see what they have for new Nissan Muranos. Their in Washington DC and will give you a no haggle price you can print out from their web site. Then take that to the dealer your working with and suggest that if they don't beat the price, you'll take a drive to DC.
They have your exact vehicle (without the pinstripe) MSRP $33,380 offered at a no haggle price of $30,168. It's a Polished Pewter/Charcoal combination.

As a matter of fact, you can get an SL AWD for the same price your dealer is quoting for an SL FWD. My guess is that the AWD will have a higher resale value down the road as they seem to be much more popular.
Also, I believed we got a good deal on the Murano. We purchased at invoice: $31,800.00
For a Pewter 2004 SL AWD with the Touring Package, I think it is pretty good.
Whether or not you need it is an entirely personal decision. It's basically an insurance policy against unplanned repair expenses.
If your financally secure enough to afford an unplanned repair a few years from now when your regular warranty expires (5 years 60,000 miles on the engine and transmission) then you may be better off putting the $1400 in a savings account (investment account?) and letting it grow until you need it for repairs or something else if you get lucky and never have significant repair expenses.
If your just getting by financially now, and a $500-600 unplanned expense would cause serious pain, then maybe your better off with the warranty.
It really is a personal financial decision.
any input from murano owners?
$31,150 the beauty is that it's tax free

I could not get a dealer in the NY area to move under invoice for 04' and dealers that were willing to sell under invoice did not have the Murano in stock. I did all my research on the Nissan website and a couple internet car sites as suggested here. The dealer that I purchased my vechile from was very fast and curtious to my needs (including the price haggling).
Thanks for all the postings.

Price paid = $30848 at the Carmax in White Marsh, I'm in NJ but my brother lives in Baltimore so it was convenient. Sticker was $34060, invoice was $31,186. What do you think of the price???
I decided to buy because of the 2.9% on 60 months. I wasn't able to get a dealer below invoice in NJ.
Thanks!
Thanks in advance
D
I thought everone gets that,
Thanks
Dave
MSRP is $29,010, Invoice $26,679 Dealer Price is $25,979...
Is that a good price?
Thanks
If it's accurate, and not a demo unit(with less than 100 miles)then that's a pretty good deal.
Check Carmax for example.
Their lowest priced SL is at 30,788 with an MSRP of $34,130, which is 9.79% off MSRP.
I've been recommending Carmax to everyone I know in NJ, for the 1.5 hour drive it was beyond worth it.
Eweiss - No, thats not a good deal, you should be able to get one for under invoice. Worst case scenario $300 - $500 below.
