I have seen bumper stickers that read "Friends don't let friends drive Fords".
I never could understand why a person would own a vehicle of a different brand than the one of the dealership where the person works...especially if the person is an owner, sales manager, salesman, shop foreman, etc. It bothered me when the owner of a Chevrolet dealership drove a Cadillac or a Toyota dealer drove a Lexus. Isn't the brand he sells good enough?
However, if the person is a mechanic, dealerships are usually known for paying their mechanics much less than they are worth. A used Windstar is probably a better value than a new or used Odyssey if a person can perform their own maintenance and repairs.
No, not always. people are looking for jobs, and if they find a good one at, say, a Kia dealership, he should take it, right?
But then take a Kia minivan? especially that he knows how many people returning with complains?
My question would be: How can one trying to sell such a car? If you drive something different b/c you know your dealer's cars are junk, how can you convince another customer to buy it?

Yes, but I hope you realize that you do get 3~4 inches of more space(knee room) at the 3rd row with '05 Odyssey than '04 model. I am not sure that you could adjust the 3rd seat back-n-forth, though. Guess not.
I am sure Honda did their market studies before committing to the allocation of the additional interior space.
Sept. 22nd is around the corner so I can take a look at the pricing relative to standard equipment to see if their is something to get excited about.
Off topic but I loved the comment from Simon Sproule a Nissan Motor company spokesman "The U.S. consumer is quite hooked on the incentive thing" his comments were in relation to the pro-longed price wars in the U.S. auto market (Wall Street Journal Sept. 3rd money & Investing section). I found it amusing because competition is what the U.S. economy has always been based on and American consumers have been "hooked on" market place competition for over 2 centuries. Wow now that's a BGO (Blind glimpse of the obvious).

Thanks for your cooperation!
So it looks like an EX-L with RES AND NAV is not a model option. After all, Honda has to keep the Touring model differentiated enough to ask for the several extra thousands above an EX-L.
Pioneer AVIC-N1. Great nav system and DVD player combination. Just add your favorite rear system (I chose Vizualogic headrests that replaced the current Odyssey headrests) and you're all set.
Total spent with installation: $3000.
Honda Odyssey 2005+
That means RES+NAV on EX-L, doesn't it? Sounds like just NAV isn't an option. You can get RES or RES+NAV.
Can I get away with a different size?

2020 Acura RDX tech SH-AWD, 2023 Maverick hybrid Lariat luxury package.
I want the following.....
present in all models or at least optional :
1. Xenon
2. tire pressure monitor
3. auto dimming rearview mirror
4. cd changer with mp3 capability
good to have....
1. hybrid
delete or make it optional.....FAX tire
Here is what is on their site:
There will most likely be some small package changes but nothing major for 06. There have been some rumors about an IMA system however there is no information to support this. The first month of 2006 production will be in August.
1. Add telescoping feature to Tilting Steering Wheel
2. Add memory to driver's seat with 8-Way Power Adjustment (like on the Touring Model)
3. Leather-Wrapped Steering Wheel and Shift Knob (like on the Touring Model -- charge a little more if you have to, but if the customer is buying the leather interior, this should be part of it.)
4. Xenon headlights option (high and low beam)
5. Auto-dimming rear view mirror
6. Tire pressure monitor
I also think the parking brake placement could be redesigned so it does not intrude into the area reserved for your left foot.
and I hope they put american size cupholders in the front folding tray and the pull outs. I believe the size we have right now is japan/europe spec, you cannot fit anything except soda can size drinks in the folding tray, and the drinks will tip in the pull out holders if you put anything other than a small size mickey d soft drink in it. I know other countries have soft drinks half our size and there will be no problem securing theirs, but we are the land of the supersize and honda should recognize that, Someone should ship honda's engineers a double gulp from 7-11.
paper cone quality speakers in a $26k car is really a no-no.
bring back the big [non-permissible content removed] armrest for the front as an accessory
extra grab handle at the sliders (like the quest and mpv) as an accessory
offer a bare bone nav (I think that will be the trend)
I'd like those Power Pedals, Reverse Sensing System, and Power Liftgate too.
But if they don't change anything, I still might buy one. The 2006 Kia Sedona is a strong contender on my list, if I can get NAV.
Because of this, we had waited for over a year for the 2005 Ody but held off buying one while putting another 12K miles on our 1994 Villager with 185,000 miles. We need to get a new vehicle shortly, we are also considering buying a used pre-2005 Ody and then buying a new Acura RDX when they come out next year. Honda is going to lose an Ody sale if they don't address the tire issues or put the electric pedals on the EX-L.
I'll take it with RES if I have to, but I'd like to save some $$$.
I'd like that Power Liftgate, Power Pedals, Reverse Sensing System, and Memory Seats on the EX please.
All I know is that I need one very soon because im starting to lose it!
I am not sure about the others, but I find it very convenient using the large compartment below the radio (which is just above the retractable drink holder) for all my coins. It is large and may hold up to $50 worth of loose coins. It is safer than my other cars' coin holders because I can close it. During accidents, suden accelerations and decelerations, the loose coins in most cars may serve as small missiles or fragmentations grenade. Here, no matter what happen in your car, the coins are safely stored.
I also have enough room for other things in the front, one for sunglasses (center roof), two in driver side door, two in passenger door, one huge glove box, one map/triptik compartment and four cup holders ( two retractable and two in between driver and pasenger). I have all the space I need and no potential "small missiles" to worry about.
Then you would practically have a touring, would'nt you?
