Well, I ended up getting my Carbon Grey w/ Quartz non-navi '05 last week. I talked them down to $26,000 out the door which included the wheel locks, trunk tray, and all-weather floor mats. I also got 5 free oil changes thrown in. I feel like I got a pretty good deal. I took a look at the computer screen after I test drove it and it had been on the lot for 54 days. That might have had something to do with it.

So far, the car has been great. I am loving the heated seats in the morning, and the sunroof for drives home. Plus, the XM radio and sound system are outstanding and I love listening to MLB games from all over. Plus, the car has lots of get-up and go. The only downside I've noted is the cost of premium gas. But I've been getting nice gas mileage as I've been doing mostly interstate driving lately.

The best thing is my buddy with a 325 drove it the other day and said he wished he'd have gone with the TSX instead.

Can anyone suggest a good price for Acura TSX with NAVI system. I thought with the holdback for Acura's 27500 would be a decent price. Has anyone got a better quote.

What about in Austin TX area ? I am relocating to TX in the beginning of June. If I find a better deal here than I would buy it here.

    Thanks.

I have a deposit down for A TSX with NAVI for $27,500 in NY and I think it is a good price. I say take it. Good luck.
  • laineylainey Member Posts: 62
I'm in the DFW area. I've been quoted a non-navi at invoice. I'm sure you can get the navi at invoice as well (27,175 includes dest.). I would make my decision based on the best state tax rate. Texas is 6.25%. Tags and license I think are somewhere around $100. If you decide it's worthwhile, email the dealerships in Dallas, Austin and Houston. DFW is only about 3 hours away from Austin and Houston is a couple of hours. Not a bad drive. There is a dealership that has Acura lots in both Dallas and Austin (same name), Be aware that it may be the same internet guy at the other end for both, which is bad if your trying to get them to compete for your business. Good luck! Oh, the summers average 100+ degrees of blazing sunshine here :shades: . You may want to keep that in mind when picking colors.

    Wazlo21,

When you say out the door on your TSX, do you mean $26,000 with tax or without tax and licensing? Also, do you mean the computer screen on the TSX will tell us how many days on the lot, or the sales screen in the office? I live in Southern California and have been receiving a broad range of price quotes and I too would be curious to know how long the car I'm going to purchase has been sitting on the lot. Also, what kind of real use mpg have you been getting? I've been considering the Audi A4 but the standard features in the TSX put Audi's audacious packaging to shame and I've heard the turbo in the Audi A4 pulls down much more gas than the sticker mpgs listed. Thanks!

Same price here. I live on Long Island and just returned from the dealership where I put a deposit down on a silver/ebony TSX automatic with Navigation.

Hi, I am looking to purchase 2005 TSX. I really want the car but I am also fixed on price. From reading some of the posts for prices I've concluded that I will only pay at the max 26K w/out nav or 27,500 w/ nav and this includes the TTL. I live in Houston. I am so fixed on price that I'll buy it in Austin, Dallas, San Antonio if the price is cheaper. Am I crazy for thinking this way? Help me or I might have to settle for something else.
  • nyernyer Member Posts: 32
My feeling is that may be tough. However, if you are in no rush, wait until late summer/early fall when the 2006's are released. The 2005's may trade at the level you want to pay. Good luck

Wow! Which dealership is this? I live in MD, too, and want to check them out. I just started looking and was quoted $27,246 out the door with an offer of 1 oil change and splash gaurds, which I didn't ask for and don't want (What the hell am I going to do with splash gaurds? They're ugly as sin in my opinion). Also, I was told that wheel locks are always included with aluminum-alloy wheels and not extra...is this true?

Anyway, please let me know about the dealership! Thanks.
  • calbears96calbears96 Member Posts: 2
Chevy Chase quoted me $25.779 plus TTL ($100 processing) and splash guards/wheel locks.

Pohanka qouted $25,654 plus TTL ($249 processing), no extras.

I took those to Radley in Falls Church, they offered $25,500 plus TTL and threw in free oil changes for life, free state inspection for life, wheel locks and all season floor mats. I took that deal and the out the door price was $26,639.

    (Automatic, non-navi)

purchased mine for ~26,5 auto/navi/cg/qz.. of course this was in dec '03 on an '04. :shades: the trick? have a trans recall in place where they haven't inspected the transmissions on the non-navi models, then be there for 8 hours and be the only one in the showroom for ~6 of those hours... not a very fun experience, but got a great deal...
  • proffyproffy Member Posts: 46
Did your price include the destination fee? (ie does $25,500 incl dest?) if not, than you must have some low sales tax! I'm looking ~$2400 in sales tax on a non-navi (8.9 % sales tax)
  • calbears96calbears96 Member Posts: 2
Yes, it did include the destination charge. Tax in VA is 3%

I am looking into the price differences btwn a 04 and 05 TSX. Reasonably, how low do you think I can bargain an 05 tsx w/out navi? I would be looking in CT, NY, and surrounding areas (perhaps NJ)?

Also, how long, if I wanted the nighthawk black w/ off white interior, would it be to get one?

    Thanks.

Just bought a new TSX with Navi. Paid $29,000 on road including protection package. Very few dealers actually had what we wanted (Black on black with navi.). Had to haggle a lot, but the buying experience was very good. Recommended dealerships:

    West Palm Beach
    Jacksonville
    Gainesville

I did not find many people posting Florida prices, so I thought I'd do the honors for those TSX seekers in the Sunshine State. You can subtract 2k from the price if you want TSX without the navi.

    Good Luck! :P

Found a great car At Gatorland Toyota in Gainsville, Fl 2004 white TSX with navi, out the door for 28K, that includes all dealers fee's and taxes, oh yea it a cert. car 4.5 years bumber to bumper and 62K miles....Had 11K miles when i bought it :) :shades:

Where did you buy for 24,900?
  • ronabironabi Member Posts: 39
I thought you might want to know that I bought an 05 non-nav TSX w auto from Vandergriff in Arlington in late December at invoice. However, that was probably an end-of-year price at a time when this dealership was looking to retain a volume dealer recognition, so that may not be a good indicator in the present market. Nonetheless, I suggest you check with them by contacting the internet manager (rather than a walk-in contact with a regular salesman) and see what happens.

    Good luck.
  • laineylainey Member Posts: 62
    mpklaf,
It was the Arlington dealership for me as well. Then again, it was last month. I haven't made my purchase yet. I probably will in a couple of months, so I don't know what they are offering now since it changes monthly based on demand and quota. I spent a while emailing all four dealerships to get that price. I will say, however, Arlington was the most pleasant to deal with by email and phone than the other three, so I will most likely be making my purchase there. One competitor was very defensive and rude. Another was the steroetypical slimy saleman. The third guy seemed very unwilling to deal over the internet. Funny, because he's the internet manager. He basically cut off all contact, after 2 emails, unless I was willing to do a walk-in.

I got my new TSX on Saturday. It is awesome! I got it for $25,995 with spoiler and wheel locks. I feel like I got a good deal. It took a lot of negotiating to get them to that price. For some reason they did not want to budge on the price. I threatened to walk and they caved. I got it from Pohanka in Fairfax, VA.
  • proffyproffy Member Posts: 46
Does anyone know if the 2006 TSX will come with an mp3 player standard (or as an option I suppose) ?
  • mogstermogster Member Posts: 1
is your price $25, 995 also including TTL? Currently, I am getting 3 dealers in Florida(North Miami) offering $25,995 for a 6 speed / no Navi, and no spoiler without TTL. If anyone know any good dealership in FL, please let me know. Thanks
  • mhainesmhaines Member Posts: 7
The price I posted does not include TTL. You should be able to get it less than $25,995 if you don't want the spoiler. The invoice is $25,354. If you do pay $25,995 I would get them to throw in some kind of accessory.

    First time post.

I test drove a TSX on Saturday in Austin and I was thoroughly impressed. The bad news is that I took my wife to the dealership and while waiting in the lobby she became very fond of a white MDX. Talk about sticker shock.

I'm ready to buy (Nighthawk black/parchment/Nav) and I'll be shopping dealers in Austin and Houston. There seems to be a lot of non-NAV TSX's on the lots and considerably fewer NAV ones. I'm wondering how this will impact the price negotiations. From reading posts I'm shooting for mid-$27k + TTL. Does this sound reasonable?

    Thanks
  • kaushikgkaushikg Member Posts: 26
You shouldn't be paying more than 27500 for TSX with NAV + TTL. Let me know what you get. Plan to buy in Austin next month since I am relocating there.

    quameforea,

Sorry it took so long to respond to everyone, but my work schedule has been crazy lately. I'll try to answer a couple questions I've seen.

I got my TSX at Tischer Acura up in Laurel, MD. The $26,000 included all taxes and tags. It was the bottom line price. I think they were surprised at how much I knew about the car and recent prices in the area and what to ask for (trunk tray, etc.) I have this site to thank for that.

The sales screen in the office showed the number of days on the lot. I just happened to notice it when the salesman pulled it up on the screen. Plus, when we went to look at it, it was in the 2nd row of a 2-row deep line of cars. I suspected it might have been there a while and the screen confirmed it.

I have been getting around 29-30 mpg as I've been able to take 95 and the beltway (all highway) to work at non-rush hour times. I'll be switching back to a regular schedule soon, so I'll try and update with a more "day-to-day" driving estimate.
  • fredvhfredvh Member Posts: 857
Can the owners of the TSX automatic advise what the RPM are at exactly 70ph? I would appreciate the information. Are all of you getting approx 30 mpg in highway driving?
Are they selling for near invoice in the Midwest or is that too little?
  • surlysurly Member Posts: 2
While the dealer (McGrath in Morton Grove, IL) installed protection package had the all-weather floor mats, mud guards, and wheel locks (but not the trunk tray others have mentioned, must bring that up during horse-trading), I have never seen body side molding offered as an accessory. Given the number of dings one gets in a car door, has anyone ever heard or seen of such an item offered on this car?
  • ronabironabi Member Posts: 39
Best mileage so far has been 32.7 driving 70 mph on the Interstate including some off-freeway city driving. Typical mileage in local driving (including some highway) is +/- 27. Lowest mileage was been 24.5 on the second tank of gas. Has been less than 26 only three times so far this year.

How can you buy at $27,500? Dealer cost is $27,745 plus co-op advertising and prep. I am an Acura saleman and our cost is about $28,100
  • kkirk2kkirk2 Member Posts: 6
Oh please. Dealer invoice is 26,605 (according to Edmunds). there is also a Dealer holdback of approx 800 (yes, we know about the holdback!). So, dealer wholesale is approx 25,800 give or take. This is for Auto w/Nav. Don't let the Stealerships fool you. do your research!! Some buyers out there are getting Auto Navi's closer to 27,000. Of course it depends on your location, etc.

Well.. to be fair... you forgot about the $570 destination charge... The invoice with destination is $27,175......

But, even without considering holdback, there is still a $300+ spread on a sale at $27,500....

Correct. I forgot to tack on destination. Still the Stealer from FLA saying: "Dealer cost is $27,745 plus co-op advertising and prep. I am an Acura saleman and our cost is about $28,100". An outright lie. Steams my clams.... :P

just drove a tsx after obsessing for a while. Loved it. dealer gave me a price of 26990... non-nav MT. Before tax title license. First time buying new car. Need advice and pricing insight. Is this car in such demand that i cant get lower than 27k in northeast? Anyone know any dealers in CT more aggressive in their pricing? Thoughts/ideas welcome. Really like that car.

If you look back through this discussion, the going price appears to be about $25,500 to $26,000...

You never know how low they will go, until you make an offer and it is accepted.. The dealer gave you a price of $27K.... Now, it is your turn to give them a price....

The dealer offered a 2005 TSX w/ nav for 26600 before TTL. Is this a fair price? I'm in LA. How much should I ask for? Thanks.

"First time buying new car. Need advice and pricing insight. Is this car in such demand that i cant get lower than 27k in northeast?"

What dealership did you go to? I'm in Redmond and will be getting some prices soon. But as far as I can tell, with just about all cars, you generall have to pay ~$1000 more in the northwest. I have no idea why. Alot of people I know fly down to cali to save $1000 - $2000.
  • rollerdogrollerdog Member Posts: 3
Having read through the posts, Initially i gave them 25k, and they came back with 26990, down from 27790 (i know). i went to 25500, and they werent interested. I walked.
    advise?

Time to start getting quotes from other dealers. Perhaps this dealer has already filled quota for the month and have no interest in making a deal. Leave your proposal with them and allow them to call you when they are ready to deal. It doesn't hurt to look out of state as well. I may fly 700 miles just to pick mine up, prices are just as high in the northwest.

I drove from Austin to Houston to get my Meteor Silver TSX non navi for $26k recently to save a few hundred bucks. Austin dealers complained why I have to drive all that way (3 hours) etc but Houston has great Chinese & Seafood restaurants anyway :-) so we had great time
  • eurodrivereurodriver Member Posts: 4
Actually there are quite a few Acura dealers in CT. How many have you tried? One added some optional equipment I never asked for in the price they quoted me. That was a real turnoff.

    Which dealership in Houston?
  • agilettoagiletto Member Posts: 6
Thanks for all of the helpful posts.

I have received two "internet" quotes for and auto/NAV both at $28,500. I would like to get back to them with a counter offer but I need to know what the dealer holdback is. I've seen $543 and $800 on this message board. Does anyone have the correct dolar amount and a reference for it? I'd like to counter offer with

    Invoice (including destination) - holdback + $500.

    Any commenets would be helpful.
  • mreedmreed Member Posts: 7
Silver 6-spd manual, non-nav: I emailed all the dealerships in Houston, Austin, and San Antonio for quotes on an "internet price." Average quote was $26,450. I signed a deal with Sterling in Austin, who matched the lowest price of $26,300. They ordered a car for me, which was built last week. Should arrive late June.
  • kkirk2kkirk2 Member Posts: 6
That's a great Deal. Just be sure destination is included in the 26,600. What Dealer is that with? I am getting one at the end of June. I got a quote of 27,100 including destiantion for an 05 w/nav in March.
  • nu_girlnu_girl Member Posts: 3
John Eagle - actually I also have a dealer in Dallas & Vanderbilt Acura (not sure where in TX) also matching or even claiming they would beat the price but the color I want is quite rare (meteor silver - must be a chic color) & I just go w/ the one who has it new in stock. I did hear of other folks who actually get great deal from Sterling & David McDavid in Austin though.
  • nu_girlnu_girl Member Posts: 3
I used to work in sales ops of a hi tech co so I tend to be 'kinder' to sales folks now that I understand sales & margin quotas? I just offered them invoice + 3% + Destination charge. I know I'm too generous  Why don't you try for the '05 TSX w/ Navi a range of between $27,150 - $27,500? That seems fair enough. I have seen a post here from someone who managed to get such car for $27,150 from Dallas. Good Luck!
  • ronabironabi Member Posts: 39
Are your referring to Vandergriff Acura? If so, it is in Arlington (Between Dallas & Ft Worth). I bought an 05 white w parchment auto, non-nav from them in December at invoice by dealing with the internet manager. That price, including destination, was $25,171. I had a competitive bid also from another dealer in Irving. I recommend you contact Vandergriff.
  • jintsfan1jintsfan1 Member Posts: 5
rollerdog, I just got on the board. If you're still interested I had a quote from Schaller in Manchester for $25,850 for a non Nav. I went with a Nav model, but I'd think that this price would be good for another individual.
