FYI there are some great deals to be had. Just signed a 2016 A3 2.0 Quatro premium with nav, advanced key, homelink, heated seats all weather mats and music interface for 15% off MSRP. Keep shopping if you're not getting numbers like that, thanks for the guidance.

Do you mind giving dealer information where you got the discount.

Hello! I received a quote from a local dealer and wondering if it is on track. 2016 A3 2.0 Premium Quattro. MSRP $38,090 sale price $33,991, Rebate $750, Adjusted price $33,241. Dealer is calculating 36/10 payment of $356 with $0 down. TT&T plus dealer fees and taxes are out of pocket to the tune of $2,642. Thanks much!

    .00030 and 58% for 36/10 on 2.0T Quattro Premium.

I get $350/mo with your prices, so pretty close to the quote.

We don't track selling prices, but for Audi, 4-6% off sticker before any available incentives is a good target.

Without the adjusted cap cost, we can't really evaluate the deal.

2016 Audi A3 e-tron Prestige (+ all weather floor mats, collapsible cargo boxes, black headliner)
    MSRP: $48,550
    Selling price: $46,183.13
    Inception Fees: $613.86
    Out of Pocket: $0
    Cap Cost: $42,089.99
    Residual: $22,818.50
Init Charges: $5502 (I believe this is the Federal tax credit being used to reduce the cap cost.)

    10K miles 36 months
    MF .00121
$613.86 monthly payment (based on Tier A MF above)

*Was later told I slot into Tier B, unfortunately making the payment go to ~$660/mo. I'm waiting the see the precise details (especially the MF) but wonder if the above details jive...?

Would two MSD's help knock my yet-to-be revealed MF down enough to matter? Are all Audi dealers aware this (MSDs) exist or is there a possibility I will need to educate them?

.00096 MF and 47% residual. Looks like your MF is marked up some. With your numbers, the calculations are correct. The e-tron rebate is $4502. Possibly another $1000 for something else?

B-tier is .0004 higher, which is a base of .00136

B-tier increase should only change your payment by about $26/mo, not $47/mo. So, looks like you are getting bumped on the base rate, and even more on the B-tier increase.

Before I started in on MSDs, I'd ask for the B-tier base of .00136. That would give a payment of $624/mo, all else being equal.

    Multiple Security Deposits.

Some luxury makes allow the lessee to put up multiple security deposits, and in exchange, the bank lowers the money factor. The deposits are refundable and returned at lease end.

Here's the initial deal I'm being offered for a A3 2.0T Premium with:
    Advanced Key,
    18x8 wheels,
    Homelink,
    Grocery Hook,
    in Monsoon Gray

    MSRP: $37665
    Savings: $2860
    Rebate: $1750

    Sale Price: $33055

    Sales Tax: $2180.69
    Tag/Registration: $498.75
    Tire/Battery Fee: $8.50
    Doc Fee: $699.95

    Balance Due: 36442. 89

Being quoted $384/MO for 36/10k (I want 12k miles so I'll have to get that changed)  with $2500 down.

Can I get some feedback as to how this looks? Much appreciated!

BTW... I'm in Florida. I was under the impression that sales tax (7%) was only calculated on the total lease amount and not the entire purchase price?

What is the net cap cost? What state and tax rate?

    Tax amount looks too high.

How is the $2500 due at signing being applied?

Sometimes, that "Balance Due" is not relevant to the lease calculation.

Dealers like to have printouts that appear to disclose everything (and, for a purchase, they do), but then give you an amount due at signing and monthly payment, without reconciling the numbers. (like it's magic!)

Thank you Michaell and Kyfdx! I'll follow up with the dealer to see if they can provide a Net Cap Cost and a breakdown of the $2500. I did thnk the sale tax figure was high and likely being quoted off the vehicle sale price rather than the lease amount, whicb I believe is how it is done in Florida.

Actually, Florida taxes the monthly payment.

Okay, decided to stop in at the dealership as the sales guy and I had a disconnect in reconciling the numbers. Coincidentally, the A3 2.0T that I had my eye on "got sold" just before I arrived. Nonetheless, I ended up putting together this deal on a slightly higher spec'd 2.0T with:
    • Monsoon Gray Metallic
    • Black Leather
    • Season of Audi Pkg which includes:
      • 19"5- Arm Wing Design wheels
      • S Line Fender Badges
      • S Line Bumpers
      • S Line Side Sills
      • P235/35R 19 Summer Tires
      • Sport Suspension
      • High Gloss Black Package
      • Audi Music Interface w/ Lightning Cable
      • Heated Front Seats
      • Audi Advanced Key

      • Black Headliner
    • First Aid Kit
    • All Weather Mats
    • Cargo Net
    • Homelink
    • Front Plate Delete
    Here's the numbers @ 36 Month / 12,000 miles (0.00034 & 57%) - Florida and 7% Tax Rate

    MSRP: $39,420
Out of Pocket at Drive Off: $1,000.00
    Net Cap Cost: $35,046

    Monthly $395

    How does this look?

    Here's the numbers @ 36 Month / 12,000 miles (0.00034 & 57%) - Florida and 7% Tax Rate

    MSRP: $39,420
Out of Pocket at Drive Off: $1,000.00
    Net Cap Cost: $35,046

    Monthly $395

    How does this look?
    I get the same payment.
    Thank you very much!

Guess it's time to do the paperwork. Since we don't know the cut offs for the various Tiers, can you provide the MF for Tier B (believe it's + 0.00040) and if there is a Tier C. I'd like to have them in case something looks funny once they run the credit and finalize the deal. Also, does Audi do MSDs and if so, how many could I do with a Tier A, Tier B, and Tier C score to work the MF back down if need be?

Okay, decided to stop in at the dealership as the sales guy and I had a disconnect in reconciling the numbers. Coincidentally, the A3 2.0T that I had my eye on "got sold" just before I arrived. Nonetheless, I ended up putting together this deal on a slightly higher spec'd 2.0T with:

    • Monsoon Gray Metallic
    • Black Leather
    • Season of Audi Pkg which includes:
      • 19"5- Arm Wing Design wheels

Add .00040 for tier B and .00065 for tier C.

Audi allows 9 MSD each of which reduce the MF by .00005. Minimum MF allowed by Audi is .00005.

Thanks again! Is there a standard amount for an Audi Security Deposit or do the dealers get to set the amounts for the deposit and do they scale higher with each additional deposit you make?

I've been thinking... So if given a particular payment and period (e.g., $395 and 36 months) and also knowing the MSRP and residual, it seems that we can work backwards to get to the net cap cost and all the fees. Based on this we could then ascertain how much the dealer is recovering from the "Mark Down" they claim to be giving. Is this flawed logic?

You still need to know the money factor to work the numbers. Can't reverse engineer into it.

Dealer can mark up the MF for extra profit.

Thanks Michaell, this is true. So essence, with that we can solve for the net cap cost. Although, we don't necessarily get the specific breakdown for each line item and related charge. Makes sense. Thanks for all your help over the past few days.

    Hi,

Thanks for all of your information. I'm wondering what the MF and Residual is for an A3 2.0 Quattro Premium in Washington, DC/Northern VA. It is 42/10k. Thanks.

Hi - really appreciate all the great information in this forum. It is extremely helpful. I was hoping to obtain the current MF, Residual and estimated monthly payment for the following @ 36/12 in North Carolina:

2016 A31.8T Premium w/ Season of Audi Package (19" wheels if that matters). MSRP of $35,790. Dealer has offered the car for $33,790 (I know, just a starting point for negotiations).

    Thanks in advance!

I was wondering if I could ask the May money factor and residual value for an A3 1.8T Premium and a 2.0T Premium for 3/36K in Florida. Is there any incentives that you know of. Thanks for all of your help.

Could I get the MF, Residual, for a 3/10k, 3/12k, 3/15k in Oregon for a A3 2.0T. Also, is there currently any lease cash/or incentives available at the moment?
