Thanks. Yeah, the Chicago area dealers have a ton of inventory, one dealership at 16 on the lot. Another have near 30 in total.

The dealer I went to test drive at had 143 on the lot... another one near my house has 205 on the lot. Like I said, there's a lot of inventory in the DC/MV/VA area. You can do a search on autotrader.com and search for the 2006 TL's and they list what each dealer has on hand. Sometimes not all the cars are on the lot.... they store them on an offsite location.

If the car is delivered in California, then you would have to pay CA sales tax..

I think you have to have the car shipped to you, to get out of paying the tax.. I'm sure someone that has bought in CA from out of state will chime in to give us the specifics..

If shipping is needed to not pay for the taxes, I think it is probably better to just buy it here in Oregon, since shipping the car along would probably cost like $500-$600, and all the hassle of dealing over the phone, etc.
  • norwestnorwest Member Posts: 1
You can get a Non Navi 06 in Seattle with the pro pack for $30,500. If you're from Oregon you don't pay sales tax in Washington. Sales tax in Washington is a killer....8.8%. I've been pencil whipping all of the dealers both here and in Portland pretty hard trying to get a deal I can live with. They won't touch some of the prices from other parts of the country like the East coast and California. I've tried. Tonkin in Portland gave an email offer of $30900.00 for a non Navi. Good luck. I'm probably going to pick a non Navi tomorrow, labor day for the $30.5 price.

I found that it is better to walk in to the Dealer and bring them the offers from other dealers, and have them work with that. The internet sales managers in OR doesn't go down a bit with their initial offerings. For example, Acura or Portland gave me quote for a Non-Navi TL with Protection package for $30995, and tried hard to get them to $30k, but they only allow me to take the Protection package off, and get it for $30495.

got a instock 2006 TL Auto Non-navi with the protection package included ... OTD for 30,100 (cash deal). I still have to pay LA TTL. Dealership (champion) was fairly easy to work with, just tried to get an extra $160 in BS fees from me... nice car! good luck

You bought in TX to take to Louisiana?
Did you pay any TX tax or registration?
Was the TX dealer able to register in LA and not in TX?

Car was a brand new one? at ~3900 under MSRP?

You could not find the same deal in LA?
  • radeonproradeonpro Member Posts: 6
Anybody know if the $1000 dealer incentive is still available after today? I heard some people said that it is expiring 9/4, is it going to be extended? Btw, how much are people paying for Aero Kit and Lip Spoiler including installation? I felt that my dealer over-charged it, they quoted $1695 for kit and $650 for lip spoiler.

Does anyone feel that it is worth the Acura extended warranty or a dealer's (around 2k for 8 years)?

What about the Lo Jack or the etch that come with 5 years of paying to replace your car after insurance payments to the current model?
  • tommypc71tommypc71 Member Posts: 6
No, I did not buy any extended warranty or additional paint/leather protection. I have past experience with Acura/Honda; there is no need to buy the warranty. Chances are you will not have any major mechanical problems within 5-6 years (except for normal/wear and tear and schedule maintenance) Also, you can get the similar paint/leather protection directly from the manufacturer (www.simonizusa.com). I hope this help.

Go to Leith Acura at Cary Auto Park on Highway 64. Be sure to first get an internet price quote and deal directly with the internet sales manager.
  • billsal436billsal436 Member Posts: 7
yes, LA dealerships could not touch the deal. No, did not pay TX tax and reg, will have to pay in LA (that is Louisiana). Car was brand new 32 miles...
  • acuratl123acuratl123 Member Posts: 5
I did not buy the spoiler, but this is what the dealer I bought from listed: Spoiler Deck Lid - $534, Spoiler Wing - $634, Spoiler Under Body - $1,361

No one has mentioned it, but I know the police department in Austin, Texas etches the windows of cars for free. Maybe other police departments also perform this service.

At 2K, the dealer is ripping you off. Go to the link below and price the coverage you want. It is the same Honda factory warranty for substantially less money.
Also, you can get a vin etching kit for about $20 and do it yourself.

Purchased my TL with Nav on 8/31 from Karen Radley Acura in Woodbridge. They matched the Sussman price. I did not get the 2.9% financing but the price was right. 30705 + 245 processing fee for a total of 30950. After tax and tags it was 31941. I did most of the paperwork via fax on 8/31 and picked up the car on 9/1. They were a little disorganized when I got there but I was in no hurry. The car only had 3 miles on it and I must say I love it. BTW, Radley Acura would not match. I thought they were the same owners so I don't really understand why they wouldn't match. Hope this helps! Oh, and I heard that the invoice price is 32800 less the incentive makes it 31800 and there is a 3% holdback which makes the dealer cost 30846. I am not positive but since most dealers told me to get lost with my quote, I think it is close. Hope this helps!
  • vluuvluu Member Posts: 100
I'm really surprised.... thought they were the same owners, guess not? Excellent deal! Do you know if they extended the $1000 rebate beyond 9/1?
  • mikey38mikey38 Member Posts: 141
At $2k it's not worth it...but....when they came down to $1200 I took it.
  • uvasauvasa Member Posts: 26
Is this good price to pay for '06 with Navi
    31200
    7.375% Sales Tax
    Doc fee 200

    This from a Northeast dealer.
  • fwade4fwade4 Member Posts: 7
I think the $1,000 rebate goes until Sept. 5th, which is today. But one dealer said he expected it to continue until the 07's arrive. Good luck!

    Was that for a 8 yr 120k?

But the etching comes with a reimbursement after insurance payment to get a new car

Just purchased a Black on Black Non-Navi TL 5-AT for $32000, there's no taxes here in Oregon, so all I have to pay is registration and license for $180 in DMV. I added under body kit and lip spoiler (worth about 2k), and they throw in the protectio package as well (Carpets, Wheel Locks, Trunk Tray, Door Edge Guard, and Mud Guards). So basically they sold the car to me for $30k with the protection package. I couldn't get the 29k deal people here are getting, but I figured I came close considering that I don't have to drive down to get my car or have it shipped. Now just waiting to pick up my car once the kit is installed.

Just wondering if the $1000 off or the financing deals are still available, or if they've changed.
  • gonein60secgonein60sec Member Posts: 56
In talking to/emailing a few dealers in my area, it seems that Acura may be varying its programs on a state-by-state basis. Both a NY & NJ dealer have confirmed with me that the $1000 incentive has been extended although neither of them shared with me until when. One of the dealers in NY mentioned that the 2.9% financing program is no longer being offered while the NJ dealer mentioned that the financing incentive is still in effect but as before, you can't combine incentives.
  • kennyg8kennyg8 Member Posts: 225
gonein60, I don't know when the incentive will expire, but it is a moot point for me since I just bought an 06 TL with Nav from Curry. I got it with the pro pack for $32k, with TTL and doc fees, the OTD totals around $34.9. The buying experience is quite pleasant and I was in and out of the dealership in less than 2 hours.

Just to remind you that choice of color combo decreases as time lapses. If you wait for another 3 to 4 weeks, I doubt if you will be able to get you want, unless it is a color combo that nobody likes.
  • moopymoopy Member Posts: 17
Anthricite with ebony interior. Price was $30,600 with incentive included. OTD was 31,823 (3% NM tax included).
Priced the vehicle in Arizona and Texas via the net and the savings was not worth making a road trip. Only one Acura dealer in NM and the closest competition is about 500 miles. I consider myself geographically challenged.
I had a 2001 TL (mint) and they offered $11,800 on a trade.
I said thanks but no thanks and sold it privately for $13,700. Actually had the car for a hair under 6 years and got almost 50% of original price ($27,800). Al in all,I'm happy.
    Happy motoring.

    kennyg8,
Congrats on your new ride. What color combo did you get? Glad to hear you had a good experience with Curry. I've heard mixed things about them, so I was a bit leery. What did Curry charge for doc fees? Sounds like its about $200. How far a drive from the Whitestone is Curry? How many trips did you have to make there?
  • nfurlownfurlow Member Posts: 20
I just got a price of $35,310 OTD. Is that a good price or should I wait on that. I know the 06 TL's are going quick so I need to do the deal rather quickly. Any help would be appreciated!
  • nfurlownfurlow Member Posts: 20
Does anyone know what type of incentives if any that Acura is offering now? I think the 4.9APR ended on 9/05/06 but I am now sure. What is the best outside financing that you have gotten?
  • rsboregonrsboregon Member Posts: 3
    Hi
Where did you get your tl in Oregon? I am in Portland. Did you talk with other dealers? Tx
  • rekonnrekonn Member Posts: 9
I'm in AZ and called a couple dealerships yesterday. The financing on new 2006's ended, but it still applies to certified pre owned vehicles.
  • ae9ae9 Member Posts: 19
kenny & gonein60 or anyone else for that matter :)

I am being told in NY that the 2.9% financing is gone....seems the best deal I can get is 32K for auto w Nav...does not include protection package.....I specifically want black on black...am i better off going to NJ at this point? thanks I need the car by the end of this month
  • gonein60secgonein60sec Member Posts: 56
One of the dealers has confirmed the $1000 dealer incentive has been extended until the end of October.
  • gonein60secgonein60sec Member Posts: 56
Deals tend to be a bit better in NJ but you have to weigh such factors as getting a loaner car from your local dealer when you bring it in for service. While you can always service the car locally, dealers usually only provide loaners if you bought from that dealership. You can't combine the 2.9% and $1000 anywhere that I know of, so you have to decide which is the way you want to go.
    Good luck.
  • kennyg8kennyg8 Member Posts: 225
    gonein60, thanks.

My car is silver/ebony. The tax alone on $32k is $2680, thus subtotaling $34680. The doc fee is $45, and the DMV fee is about $180, plus some stupid item called used tires fees ($15). I believe they overcharged DMV fee by about $40, but considering they put in a full tank of premium gas ($50), I have no problem with the OTD price, as a whole.

Curry is no more than a 20 minute drive once I cross the Whitestone Bridge. I made 2 trips there, about one hour each. The first trip was to test drive the car, choose the color combo I like from their stock and sign the contract. The second trip was to pick up and inspect my new ride, receive a quick training from sales as how to operate the navi and hfl phone, and to finalize the deal. All in all, a fairly good experience.

You may save a few hundred if you shop in NJ or PA. But consider the time, gas and toll, plus the fact that you want to make sure the deal is legit and goes smoothly, the savings doesn't seem to justify the anguish in not being able to do a good deal in one shot. Moreover, once you pick up the car, you still have to register it in NY, which requires you to take a day off, and time is also money!
  • nfurlownfurlow Member Posts: 20
I am in the same situation buying a car in Texas from Louisiana. Wouldn't you have come out better if you did pay Texas Tax? Where did you go? Thanks for the help!
  • ae9ae9 Member Posts: 19
it seems like you feel 32K tl auto w Nav at this point is a good deal? even though I can no longer apply for the acura 2.9%?

I guess thats just a hard pill to swallow bc I could have had that same price & 2.9% last week.....

Kenny- you obviously did your homework....is a blk/blk TL auto with Nav @ 32K a fair price at this point?

    thanks for all your insight
  • kennyg8kennyg8 Member Posts: 225
I did not need financing, so whatever interest rate Acura charges was never part of my equation.

If you live in NYC or LI, 32k is not a bad deal by any means, though it is not as attractive as those purportedly offered by NJ and PA dealers. You need to do your homework before deciding which dealer is trustworthy and suits you best.

Remember, time is running out on the 06 models with navi because many people want them. Most dealers I visited had a lot more TLs w/o navi. Good luck!
  • radeonproradeonpro Member Posts: 6
I got it at Ron Tonkin's. I also went to Acura of Portland, and they said they'll match the price if not beating Ron Tokin. However, the Black on Black TL they had on their lot, I felt a weir clicking sound when stepping on the accelerating pedal. So I've decided not to buy it there. I've also heard that Kendall Eugene actually has better pricing, and they'll match out-of-state prices. So you might call them up and see what they can do for you.

I have been looking around PA for the best price on a 2006 TL with navi. Just curious what everyone else has been getting offered lately. Also, has anyone looked to purchasing in Delaware since they have no sales tax? Thanks
  • bqlibqli Member Posts: 7
They have no sale tax but not for you since you are PA residence
  • rsboregonrsboregon Member Posts: 3
Thanks! Interesting because over the net I got a better price from Acura of Portland. Also interesting that some of of the want ads from the dealers advertise used 06 models at more than the new prices I was quoted. Not sure why that is.
  • gonein60secgonein60sec Member Posts: 56
    kennyg8,
Thats a nice color combo and probably the lowest maintenance in terms of maintaining its looks. I liked the Nighthawk Black Pearl/Camel combo the best followed very closely by the Royal Blue Pearl/Quartz. I ended up going to Rallye Thursday night and getting a TL w/Navi in NBP/Camel. The car is not scheduled to arrive in the dealership until this weekend or next week and I should be able to pick it up next week.

I paid a bit more at Rallye at $32,175 plus TTL, $35,051 OTD. I actually had better quotes in NJ and one dealer in Northern NJ, the price difference was at least $500, but it sounded a bit too good to be true. Considering that NJ dealer was probably close to an hour drive from me and that I would have to make a couple of trips up there, it was a tough call. Rallye wouldn't even look at the NJ dealership quotes I provided them but I got them to come down a bit and at least match the quote I got from Island. I still have a bit of angst about leaving money on the table, but all things considered, Rallye is within a 20 minute drive from my house and that I can get a loaner during service. One more thing was that I will be getting a car fresh off of production and not one that has been sitting in the dealer's lot these summer months. I think those intangibles were worth paying a bit more. The sales lady wouldn't throw in the pro pack but did include wheel locks and included the first oil change. I'll probably pick up an OEM cargo tray and all-weather mats on-line. Still debating whether I should pay the dealer to put on splash guards.

I actually had a better offer from Valley Stream by a couple of hundred bucks, but they didn't have the NBP/Camel combo. They did have my second color choice but that won't come into the dealership until early October.

I am getting the following out the door prices (includes TT&L and destination) from a dealership in the Los Angeles area.

    2006 TL auto, non-navigation - $31,870.25
    2006 TL auto with navigation - $33,853.28

Does anyone have any experiences in the Los Angeles area?
  • kennyg8kennyg8 Member Posts: 225
gonein60, congrats on your new purchase. Your OTD is only a tad over mine, and you have your favorite color combo, which is significant. My 03 Maxima is also silver/ebony, and it is very easy to maintain. The only drawback is hot seats in the summer if you park under the sun. Since my cars are garaged, it is not a big issue. Splash guards and all weather mats are well worth the money, they keep your car cleaner during the rainy and snowy months. Cargo tray you can do without because you don't walk in the trunk, but it is nice if you intend to carry dirty cargo. LOL!!

I am not too thrilled with Valley Stream. Their showroom needs quite a bit of work; but I heard they are moving to a newer place.

Do you know if Rallye gives free car washes with service? I wonder if I should take my car there for service since it is about the distance from Curry.

I'm sure you'll enjoy your new ride just like I'm enjoying mine.

    mr25boy,

I haven't shopped for a TL in a couple of months (might try and get back into the end of year purchase and hopefully pick up a nice 2006 at a better price than quoted before.

The prices you are getting seem like a good deal based upon my research two months ago.

Which dealer are you going through? How is the inventory - getting smaller? Still a lot of color selections? Are the dealers in LA still offering special financing?

I was working with Santa Monica and Power in Torrance before when I was shopping for a new TL.

    Good luck.
  • mr25boymr25boy Member Posts: 4
    Hey justalaguy,

I just got another quote today from Santa Monica for an 06 TL with Nav. for $ 33,239.59 (out the door with title, taxes, destination, and license). He said they have every color.

Good luck with your search also. If you find a better deal, pleaes let me know.
