According to edmunds', there is no $1000 incentive for the 07 TL.
  • kyfdxkyfdx Moderator Posts: 267,279
I believe the $1000 incentive was on the '06 models this past Fall.

    Houston, Texas:
    $33,900 including tint +TTL.
  • vicnationvicnation Member Posts: 33
That's a pretty good deal. How much did they price the tint for?
  • epi321epi321 Member Posts: 4
I'm not sure. Tint is something they put on every car that hits their lot, so when they do price quotes they include that as part of the price. Luckily tint is the only thing they add.

Just purchased a TL S for $500 over invoice, plus destination from Internet Mgr at Sunnyvale Acura. They had to find car and have it delivered as combination I wanted was rare. (White with black/silver interior) Honored quoted price over internet even with car not being on lot! After reading the forum, super easy experience. No hidden costs in the paperwork. Thanks for the info in this forum. It was invaluable. Dream car! :P

Here's what I ended up with. White S-type w/under body spoilers all around, body side molding and iPod link for $35.7k+tax & tags. OTD for $39.7k.

    Thanks for your help.
  • chaperoahchaperoah Member Posts: 30
    Nice job. Enjoy the car.
  • abk99abk99 Member Posts: 14
I thought the under body spoilers were standard on the type s?
  • vicnationvicnation Member Posts: 33
They are standard. Nice look though.

Final deal: $33.4k including wheel locks, all weather mats, splash guards, and trunk tray + TTL
  • mjkobelacimjkobelaci Member Posts: 2
Just purchased a 2007 TL w/Navi from Sunnyvale Acura as well. I got the price I was looking for with no theatrics from either the salesman or sales manager. As malmelst said in an earlier post, it was a super easy experience with no hidden fees, $45 doc/prep fees and a free set of wheel locks. Trust me, if you're in the market for an Acura and you live anywhere near the San Francisco/San Jose, California area, you need to at least call these guys.
  • spyderredspyderred Member Posts: 138
What was your price before TTL?
  • mjkobelacimjkobelaci Member Posts: 2
Just to clarify, it was a 2007 TL w/Nav, white diamond pearl w/taupe interior, just off the truck. Not a type-S. $400 over invoice.
  • beanburritobeanburrito Member Posts: 4
In San Antonio there is only one place you need to go for an Acura. Actually there is only one place you can go, Gunn Acura. I have to admit that for one of those "one simple price" places they did a pretty good job. So I drove home my silver/taupe type-S 5 speed and my only complaint is that it was rush hour so I couldn't let it out.

Each car is priced based on how long it has been in inventory and how many identical models they have but I took one of their lowest at 34,999 (plus approx 150 doc/inventory tax + TTL). They had a few at that price and plenty of others ranging up to 35,699. I was originally looking at the carbon bronze model but decided that I did not like it 700 bucks better (it was close between the silver and black at the same price). Anyway, I was surprised that their "one simple price" was so good...though the no-haggle approach meant I did not get any wheel locks, tint, etc thrown in for free. Since I like the whole car buying game I missed the wheeling and dealing but the whole process (including trade in) was outstanding.

Definitely looking forward to some "spirited driving" tomorrow...

Don't forget recommended 600 mile break in period
  • sigp226sigp226 Member Posts: 16
What is the appropriate way to break in the car? I heard people say drive it at varying speed. Does it mean I should drive it in the city for a while then crusie on freeway for a while?

I am here in So Cal. Great deal! Please give me the persons name you worked with to get this deal.
    e-mail me at: defevere@sbcglobal.net Thanks...

They are a great look, but under body spoilers are not standard, they are considered an accessory. Over $1,000 MSRP for all three.
  • malmelstmalmelst Member Posts: 4
35,975. This included wheel locks and all weather trunk mat. This was made in writing. Excellent experience.
  • 2bnatl2bnatl Member Posts: 13
My impression is basically take it easy. The manual says "avoid full-throttle starts and rapid acceleration", "avoid hard braking for the first 200 miles". Driving at varying speeds refers more to not holding at the same speed as in a long road trip. Give it a little time til you see what your babies made of, and these sweethearts are well made.

Anyone else told that Acura "doesn't negotiate" the price on the TL? This is an Oregon dealership...anyone have a better buying experience on a TL w/Navigation? Gave me a price of $37,400...
  • beanburritobeanburrito Member Posts: 4
Thanks for the tips, I really was just poking fun at the brochure which describes the manual-like F1 style paddles (does that make it manumatic?) for "spritited driving". Quite an improvement over my '98 accord 4-banger. So this is what "fun to drive" means...
  • beanburritobeanburrito Member Posts: 4
My experience was with a "one simple price" place here in San Antonio but they have about 1/2 dozen other dealerships (Infiniti, Honda, etc) that are the same way. It is the dealership's policy to be "no-haggle". it is NOT an Acura policy at all. The reason I dealt with them was their "one simple price" was actually very good and quite frankly they are the only dealership in town. I would have gone to Austin or Houston but there just wasnt going to be enough difference to justify the time and effort.

Remember this is a game: You want the car for the lowest price, they want to sell it to you for as much as possible. So the TL w/NAV at invoice is around 33,600 - 3% holdback (about 1100) which means they would be making a profit of almost 5k if you bought it for $37,400. For that price I would sell you my brand new type-S and make a nice little profit. I think 33k for a TL w/NAV should be your target price. Do not walk in with a chip on your shoulder looking to pick a fight, but be firm. Most of these salespeople are honest and friendly (that is why they are good salespeople) but remember to think of it as A GAME. You can buy a TL w/NAV for 33k and the dealership will make $500 plus whatever options you add (the margin is huge on those), plus whatever warranties you buy (the margin is huge on those), plus kickbacks on financing, plus you add a sale to their books which contributes to all sorts of factory-to-dealer incentives.

Anyway, this place had plenty of TL's and I test drove a really nice grey one with Nav that had the "no-haggle" price of around 33,400 (dont quote me on that, but it was around that price and they had a few that were even cheaper). If the "no-haggle" place has prices like that you better believe other dealerships will too.

The price around 34,000 is that the price before tax?
  • jdelabrejdelabre Member Posts: 57
I got an 07 TL-S at Mullers Woodfield Acura near Chicago. I paid $36,200 and got a pretty good trade on my 06 TL.

Totally 100% happy with every part of this car. A DREAM! :shades:
  • beanburritobeanburrito Member Posts: 4
Here were my observations (just from dealing with the one dealership in San Antonio and calling a few more in Austin and Houston)

    1. The TL's with NAV seemed to be very fairly priced from a little under invoice (33,000) and up. The cheaper ones had been on the lot longer and there were several of exactly the same type, mostly white. I drove a carbon gray one that I think was priced around 33,600.

    2. The Type-S's were plentiful and ranged from 34,999 and up. There were lots to choose from...white and blue seemed to be lowest price.

    3. The non-Nav's were not as discounted and it really didnt make much sense to even consider them given how close they were in price to those with Nav.

    4. After looking at websites in Austin and Houston I saw a plethora of TL's in inventory...especially the type-S models.

    Conclusion:

Knowing that the "no-haggle" places are almost always overpriced and based on their prices combined with looking at the invoice prices I would say around 33k + TTL for a TL w/NAV and 35k + TTL for a TL-S are reasonable targets to shoot for (at least in this part of the country).

    Help!!!
Trying to negotiate for a 06 TL 6sp MT w/Navi in Michigan.
Saw the info about the 2000 incentive that expired on 2/5. It is now 2/13, anyone know if it is still in play?
Really love the 6sp and cannot get it in 07 without moving up to the type-s. I found a dealer who has one and seems willing to negotiate. Also found two others in Chicago area. What have people been paying?
  • tdaudtdaud Member Posts: 2
Need some guidance on pricing an 06 w/ navi and 6sp.
Drove the car with auto trans and knew I had to have the 6sp. Trying to avoid spending extra $$$ on a type-s as it is the only way to get manual in the 07.
Found a couple 06's in Michigan and Chicago area. Wondering what others are paying recently for them. I have read about the 2,000 incentive that ended 2/5. Anyone have any info about if it is still in play, or can be negotiated with?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Same question as kaiser: Was $36,200 OTD or before TTL?

I just started neg for a TL Type S the other day and I hope I can get them down to 35,500.

    Thanks,

    John

i got the following deal on the 2007 TL w/ navigation (black with charcol interior)

$36252 OTD considering 7% tax, no trade in, 4.9% for 60 month financing with $10,000 downpayment. will pick this up tomorrow. The dealer told me he had this with the old invoice before the invoice was increased by a few hundered dollars a few weeks back. and yeah, i'll be using the license plates from my previous car which i sold already.

I'll appreciate any comments you might have. Was this a good deal? Thanks

Here's the numbers I pulled from CR Car Price Report

    3.2 6MT w/Navi
    MSRP 35,325
    Dest 670
    Invoice 32,205
    Dest 670
    Dealer Incentive (ended 2/05/07) 2000
    Holdback 1060

I'd start at the invoice minus incentive and holdback and see what response you get

Hi everyone. I'm new to the forum, and am currently shopping around for the best lease deal on a TL (Automatic) w/Navi, Black on Parchment. My goal is to get down to $370/month total with $3000 down.

Thanks for posting the CR Price Report on the manual transmission. Does anyone have a similar report for the automatic?
  • reebsreebs Member Posts: 1
I was quoted $34,806 today in Jersey for a TL w/navi. All colors available, and at the same price. The Nav is unreal.

picking up a Type S next week. Got them down to 35,514 this is before TTL. I had them throw in wheel locks and color matching splash guards. Dealership In MD

Can anyone tell me what the difference is in TTL btw Virginia and Maryland?

    Thanks!
  • g35ortlg35ortl Member Posts: 10
Can anyone tell me if there is still an incentive in effect for the 2006s? Thanks
  • ecnirpecnirp Member Posts: 20
Depends on what state you are registering in.

I live in Northern VA and bought my TL in MD. Saved a few hundred bucks because the processing fee is cheaper in Maryland - $95 vs. $299 in VA. Otherwise, they charge the same 3% sales tax that I would be charged in VA because the dealer remits the sales tax back to Virginia. The dealer took care of the Virginia license plate for me and Fedexed to my house when they received it. I did drive around with a Temporary MD tag for a month but that was no big deal.

Only other consideration is that the MD dealer did not provide a VA inspection sticker so I had to pay $16 to get my car inspected back in Virginia.
  • steel6asteel6a Member Posts: 4
Thanks for the info ecnirp. What dealership did you use in MD and were you happy with them?

If you were happy with a salesperson in particular, could you please email me their contact info nnd6a at hotmail.

Bought a TL w/o Nav over the weekend at Bridgewater Acura. Paid invoice price ($31,517), $198 doc fee, plus TTL. To close the deal they included wheel locks and mud guards at no charge. Special financing incentive (4.9 % for 60 months) is in effect thru 2/22 (I think). All in all, a very pleasant experience. Worked out the deal over the phone with very little hassle.

Bought a TL-S (black/black) today at Springfield Acura.

Paid $35,181.87 + $670 DC + 189 doc fee + TTL. OTD price of $38,900. Very smooth transaction, helpful staff. I may have haggled the price down some more, but my old car died the middle of last week (transmission) and I didn't want to keep paying rental car charges.
  • willis3willis3 Member Posts: 76
Was quoted 31,004 for a 6MT with NAV. Should I be able to do better than this considering this is now a 1 year old car?

    BTW, I'm in Central NJ.
  • sicilia98sicilia98 Member Posts: 4
    2006 3.2 6MT w/Navi
    MSRP 35,325
    Dest 670

    Invoice 32,205
    Dest 670
Dealer Incentive - scour the net for current number
    Holdback 1060

Start at invoice plus dest minus incentive and holdback and work from there. Most buyers were paying $100 - $600 above that number for these "old" models.

I'm in the market for the TL with nav and I hope to buy one by the end of this month. Has anyone purchased the extended warranty? Is it worth it? What about Low Jack?
    Thanks!

Hi, I amthinknig of getting a 2007 Acura TL Base. I noticed that when you build it, u either get the navi or you dont. i am trying to find out a good OTD price for both options. Pls hhelp
  • kaiser070kaiser070 Member Posts: 5
was quoted $35,695 (+ TTL)on the '07 TL-S 6sp MT, is it a good price or I can do better? don't forget guys that I have to trade in my '05 TL w/o Nav 6sp MT and only 5650 Miles on it?
  • chkntonychkntony Member Posts: 38
I've been researching TL base with navi for 2 months now, and the lowest price i've seen is invoice price + TTL.
I'm waiting for a low apr deal, and looking at price of approximately $34,500 OTD. I think that is reasonable price? :confuse:
  • vicnationvicnation Member Posts: 33
I got the 8 year/120k mile AcuraCare Warranty for $1,515 which is $100 over the actual cost. I just reminded them that they can either make a small profit or lose the opportunity. They didn't hesitate because I didn't back down. The original price they quoted me was around $2,300. I got the TL w/Nav for $33,400 + TTL. Out the door was $35,109 before the warranty. Deals are out there but you have to be patient and look at several dealerships. I had to travel 90 miles to get the deal.
