And the net cap cost? This would be the negotiated selling price plus the taxes and fees you are adding into the lease.

For the XT model I believe it would be in 33,500 range.

For the limited model, probably 30,500 range, sound about right?

I haven`t been to the dealer and negotiating the Cap cost yet, I`ve been getting numbers via e-mail from multiple dealerships.

I don't track pricing, so can't tell you how accurate those numbers are. The biggest part of getting a good lease payment is to negotiate the lowest price you can, just like on a purchase.

You can negotiate the cap cost via email ... just make them break out all the taxes and fees. You can decide to pay them up front or add them to the selling price.

We don't track selling prices. Use the "make model year" pull downs at the top of the page to link to the price tools.

You may have some positive equity in your current lease - you can negotiate the trade value just like you would on a car that is financed. Have you confirmed the payoff value with the bank that is funding your current lease?

Subarus are not inexpensive to lease .. not likely to see $200/mo on it.

The lease payment is highly dependent on the price you are able to negotiate. Subarus are expensive to lease, compared to other brands. Not even sure you can get into an Impreza for $200/mo, assuming $0 down.

Sales tax in CA varies by city or county. I'm sure you can find it on the web.

If the money is a downpayment, then subtract it from the selling price.

I am looking at 2 cars a VW and a Forster, I asked the sales guy for a basic lease and he sent me:
Forester 2.5i automatic with alloy wheel package with an Msrp of 25,071 and price of 21,083 for
$208 plus tax with $563 drive off. 3 year lease with 12K miles per year.

Does this sound good?

Using the MF of .00135 and the 36/12 residual on the base of 64%, I get $190/mo + tax with those prices.

I would (A) double check the cap cost - if higher than the selling price, find out what's been added, and (B) confirm the MF they are using. Subaru dealers can mark it up as much as .00050
