Could I get 24/15, 36/15 and 48/15 residual and MF for the following configs in 53212?

    - SE Automatic w/ Performance Pkg
    - Autobahn Automatic w/ Performance Pkg

Also, what would the numbers be with 12k instead of 15k?

    Thanks so much!

    .00180 and 49% for 48/15

Add 2% to the residual for 12K

Hi all, new here but long time lurker.

Was wondering how you guys getting the good deals/numbers above?

In Northeast I've contacted multiple dealers for a 2016 GTI autobahn, PP and lighting package and was given one offer for $549/month with no money down and another for $525/month no money down. Such ridiculous numbers it's like they're trying not to sell them...

Without the numbers behind those payment quotes, we can only guess why they're so high.

Thanks Michael. Sorry I didn't post more detail. Also forgot to mention I was looking for a manual. But the cap cost they gave me was one for 31000 and other at 30500.  They said the $525/month and $550/month were including all fees and taxes. Still a ridiculous deal. I could buy one with the 0.9% apr they have going and pay almost the same. Credit is excellent so that's not the issue.

Like I said,  seems like they aren't trying to sell them. Earlier in this thread someone posted they had a similar issue in northeast with the gti

No difference in the numbers for transmission type.

$500+ per month on a $30K car is a bit pricey, I will agree.

Hi, I live in Northeast Ohio and spoke with a VW dealer near me about a 2016 GTI S 4 door manual, no packages. I asked for their best price and they gave me the following:

    MSRP: $26,735
36 month lease, 10,000 miles, $1000 down (includes acquisition fee, doc fee, title fee), your payment including tax is $368.08

    Price: $24,391
    Residual: $15,774
    Money factor: .0023

Their numbers are actually better than I thought they were going to say, but how does this deal seem in reality? I know that money factor is pretty high. Can I get the price per month down anymore? I want to stick with 36 months and 10k miles. Thanks for your time.

.00130 and 59% for 36 months, 10,000 miles per year. As you can tell, the money factor is marked up a whole lot. I get $292 a month with the base money factor, and $331 a month with the inflated money factor, both before tax.

    Hello All,

Can someone tell me whether this quote is a good deal? This is my first lease and I don't have any experience. If this is not a good deal, is there anything I can negotiate to make it better?

    Thanks in advance:

    2016 VW GTI S 4-Door - No Packages

    MSRP: 26,870
    Dealer Discount + Rebate: 4,370
    Car Price: 22,500

    Terms:

    36 month lease/10k
    $2,348.20 Down (out the door)
$245.94 Monthly Payment (out the door)
    Residual: 15,853
    Money Factor: .00180

The MF is marked up - base rate is .00130. But, that's a pretty nice discount from sticker.

What does the $2348 at signing cover?

As is, your numbers give me $254/mo, so it's likely some of that up front money is lowering the cap cost.

However, using the base MF brings the payment down to $235/mo.

The money factor is marked up, but that is a huge discount.

    Hi All,

    Thanks for the information.

    1. The salesman told me the 2348= everything including taxes, fees, etc.
    2. The state is: CA and I believe the rate: 7.5%

    Questions:

Do you guys know how much my monthly payments would go up if I asked for 12k?

Is it worth getting the Wear Care (protects against 10,000 damage at return) for $1295. Sorry if this seems like a dumb question - first time leasing.

    Thanks in advance.

CA taxes the monthly payment. I'd ask for a detailed breakdown of the $2348.

Wear care is not worth the money, IMO. If you take care of the car, you shouldn't have any end of lease charges.

MF and Residual for 2-Door Autobahn with LP & PP. 36/15 in Texas.

Also, side question, are taxes in Texas required to be paid up front for a car lease? Thanks in advance!

    .00130 and 56%

While Texas assesses sales tax against the entire selling price, it does not have to be paid by you up front. It can be added into the negotiated selling price of the car, which means less cash out of pocket, but does subject the sales tax to the interest paid on the lease. Makes for a higher monthly payment.

You have greatest handle on edmunds! BHC & BHC II are 2 of my favorite movies!

Usually the current "program" will run until Tuesday 7/5/2016. This is a big weekend for dealerships that have to move metal. Keep us up to date on the board.

Which GTI are you looking for? How many years / miles per year are you looking to lease for?

    Good luck with your search!

Hello. Thank you very much for providing useful information in this forum.

Can someone check if this is a good deal in Ohio for a VW GTI SE w/ LP, DAP, and DCC for 36 months/12k miles?

I have 750+ credit score. Can the MF still go down and can you confirm if MF and residual are correct?

    MSRP - $35,750
    Selling Price - $31,792
    Residual - 58%
    MF - 0.00130
    Sales/Use Tax (6.75%) and Fees - $976.69 and $976.87 = 1953.56

Drive off is $500 which includes 1st Monthly Payment of $430 and $70.
    Monthly is $430.

    Thank you!

That's the base MF and correct residual.

I get $432.mo., so close enough.

That's a pretty decent deal. The GTI is not a cheap car to lease, but not terribly expensive, either. Couldn't pass up any of those options, huh? ;)

I agree with @kyfdx. Lighten up your option load, buy it with 0.9% financing for 60 months, then trade it in 3 years for a new one. You'll have equity in the car too.

@kyfdx yeah, I'll probably lighten up the option. Planning on dropping DCC and either LP or DAP. Only needed DAP for my wife. I could've gotten the manual tranny if not for her. Things I do for love. @nyccarguy will take your advice to drop some of the options. DCC can go. Still can't decide between LP/DAP. What do you think?

I like the lighting package and performance package. Could live without the rest of it. Could probably live without the performance package, as well, if I found the right car and deal without it.

Only stick-shifts for me, but that's not for everyone.

I'm leaning towards PP and LP as well. The quote I got has the PP btw. Will call them tomorrow and see of they have something on their lot.

I feel the same way @kyfdx. My ideal GTI would have DSG, PP, & LP but I'd be willing to compromise for the right deal on the right car.

I test drove a GTI a couple years ago .. stick shift. That would be the way I would go, and maybe the lighting package. Keep it simple.

I forgot, so you don't have the performance package? You've got the plaid seats (unheated) and a slick top (no moonroof)? You still love the car? How many miles are on it?

Just shy of 3500 miles. I've been traveling a lot for work recently, so its been parked at the airport more than it used to during the week. You're correct - 4 doors, no hole in the roof, DSG, and LP.

I drove a non-PP and a PP prior to buying. I could not notice anything in routine driving that would make feel strongly enough to go after it. If it had been on the car that I otherwise wanted- a 4 door, White S DSG with LP- I would have taken it, but I did not care enough to chase after it.

I absolutely love the car. I typically tool around in Sport mode around town mostly because in standard Drive mode it aggressively seeks 6th gear (think 6th gear at 35 mph) and wants to stay there, which makes me bananas. On the highway I leave it in normal mode for fuel efficiency.

Honest opinion! I respect that tremendously. I REALLY like my heated seats.

Actually, I should clarify. The base S with plaid seats DOES have heated seats. I just rarely use them so I never even thought about it. It has three heat levels - warm, hot, and third degree burns.

Really? Things just got interesting. I'm sure 210 turbocharged hp would feel like a road rocket compared to my Subaru's 175 hp. There's just that snow tire thing I'd have to start doing again.

My buddy had a 2015 GTI SE and lived in the midwest. He said even with Blizzaks, he was very unhappy with the handling and performance in snow. Take that with a grain of salt though - he tends to be a bit melodramatic.

He had traction issues or ground clearance issues? How bad could it have been with the Blizzaks, Traction Control, Stability Conreol, & FWD?

I've lived in CO for over 20 years; most of that time has been spent with FWD cars with all-season tires only. Never had any major problems getting around.

Again, I think he was being melodramatic. I think it was an issue of traction, if anything - the ground clearance did not seem to be a problem. A good set of snow tires and intelligent driving should offset quite a bit of trouble anyone would have.

Of course, I can't confirm because I don't see any snow here in Seattle :-)

It's pretty easy to break traction on dry roads with all-season tires, with the GTI. At least that's how my test drives always go.. I could see issues in the snow, if you don't have a feel for it. Lots of torque.
