We would need to know the MSRP and net cap cost in order to model a payment.

You politely but firmly explain that you won't sign a deal with a marked up MF. 

And reach out to another VW dealer.

.00185 is the new updated MF for 2016 GTI.

With those numbers, I get $365.31/mo + tax.

What state is this and what is the tax rate? Are you paying the fees up front or adding them to the cap cost?

This is in NC, so 3% use tax should be in the payment, and it's nothing down so everything should be included in that payment.

I didn't get the negotiated selling price (discounted MSRP) & cap reduction. I was offered ~430-450/month with 1000 down!

Can't really tell you if that's a good or bad offer without knowing the cap cost.

I'm located in PA, 19446. I'm trading in my 2013 GTI lease... white 2DR base, no options, 10,200 miles (my commute is super close) superb condition... they're offering me 17,900 compared to my 14,900 residual, leaving me with 3,000 for capital reduction.

2016 in question is a S model with DSG and lighting package. 10k/36mo. MSRP ~28,000 cap cost ~23,400. Was quoted the same thing most seem to have been here... a 0.00180 MF and 60% residual. (I have a high 700-low 800 credit score... that should be top tier, correct? Someone on another forum said they got .00150 MF... that seem legit?)

Guessing doc fees are around 600. Looks like 820 for destination. PA has a 3% use tax so total 9% tax.

Quoted at 329/month after taxes. That seem like i can work a better deal? I know the 2016's are in demand.

First, we don't recommend using trade equity as cap cost reduction - have the dealer cut you a check instead.

.00185 is the base MF .. not sure how someone can get lower than that, unless it's through a third party bank.

Does the $23,400 cap cost include the equity?

What's the difference between me rolling it into capital cost reduction or putting that check in the bank if i plan to use it all in payments? I shouldn't think the super tiny amount of potential interest would be worth it? Is there another reason i'm not aware of?

Yes, the 23,400 does include the 3,000 equity.

If the car is stolen or totaled during the lease, that $3000 is gone. If you keep it in the bank, it's yours.

$1600 off sticker isn't too bad for a model as popular as the GTI.

Okay got a quote from a dealer...2016 4dr SE manual...MSRP is $30,800, they took about $900 off giving me a selling price of $29,975. No drive off fees at all. I'm located in LA.

Net cap cost: $30,600.
MF: .00185
Residual: 60%
Monthly payment: $426.30 + tax

My thoughts are that it seems a little high. I feel like I could probably find something for around $400 a month all in. What do u guys think?

GTI's are popular ... not seeing a lot of discounts yet and the base MF is pretty high.

Yeah.. GTIs are not cheap to lease, relative to their MSRP.

How do those numbers (MF and residual %) differ across trim levels within the same model year? Or, are they simply based on time and miles (12k/36mo, 15k/36mo, etc)? Thanks!

All GTI trim levels have the same numbers. There is a 2% difference between 36/15 residual and 36/12 residual
