gurus,

I am interested in leasing a 2016 CLA250 coupes with basic package and blind spot identifier feature. I live in TX and plan to lease it for 36 months with 10K or 12K miles per year. What is the money factor and residual value for this car and what kind of discount will be available off MSRP? Are there any dealer incentives?
And above all what should i be paying as a lease amount per month to consider it to be a best deal!!!!

thanks

  • Hi, any new updates. Do you have lease numbers for 2016 CLA. I have on order a CLA45, and would appreciate any details you may have on MF, and residuals. I think I read an older post from previous model year that the residual on a 7500 mile per year is higher than 12k per year over 36 months??? Is it still 60% for 7k and 58% for 12k?

Standard MF and 60%/58% residual for 7.5K/12K/yr, 36 months.

I'll assume these are FWD as you are in LA.

.00148 and 60% for 36/15. Extra miles are purchased up front and are deducted from the calculated residual. Dealer can mark up the MF for extra profit.

We don't track selling prices - read back through the last page or two of this discussion to see what others have been able to negotiate.

In order to model the payment, we would need to know the cap cost (selling price + fees - down payment).

Up front costs include bank fee of $795 (dealer can mark up to $1095), first payment, dealer fees and DMV costs. That could easily be $2000.

  • just left my local MB dealership... need some help... something doesnt seem right....

    2015 CLA 45 AMG

    MSRP - 61K

    CAP COST - 51K

    NET CAP COST - 53K

    59% RESIDUAL

MONEY FACTOR - .0022 (I'm not tier 1 credit, still seemed high tho)

    36 MONTH / 10K PER YEAR

    $2000 DUE AT SIGNING

    THEY SHOWED ME $727/MTH + $57/TAX = $784/MTH TOTAL PAYMENT

That's not right.... it cant be....

What am I missing? I kept asking how they got the payment and they said "its just the math"

Needless to say I didnt buy the car

.00138 MF for top tier credit. Residual is correct.

Using .0022 for the MF, I get a payment of $668/mo.+tax

Those numbers look like estimates.. get the exact numbers. I'll guess the CAP cost is not what you have been given.

  • CLA 250 2016
    MSRP 44400
    sales price 41325
    tax 6% on monthly payments

Dealer is quoting $658 a month for 12/36 lease with no down payment. According to dealer, MF used is 0.00192 and residual 62%. Based on that I am getting $545 a month. I have tried 3 different calculators and getting the same number. Any idea why their monthly rate is so much higher?

    .00143 MF for FWD
    .00142 MF for AWD

    Residual is 62% for 36/12.

Where is the $795 acquisition fee (likely marked up to $1095 by dealer).

Ask the dealer for the adjusted CAP cost, and the amount due at signing.. then, find out why that number is bigger than you think it should be.

The money factor markup is adding about $36/mo. to your payment. You might want to start shopping other Mercedes dealers. What's the point of getting a cheaper Mercedes, if it isn't cheap? For $658, you should be driving an E-Class.

Zero due at signing. To get to $658 (even with the marked up MF of .00192), the adjusted cap cost would have to be $44900- correct? The discrepancy is huge so I'm just wondering if my calculation is wrong.

Correct... $44,900 CAP cost, with that inflated money factor.. Are you in Florida?

    Figure
    $1095 acquisition fee
    $899 dealer fee
    Etc, etc, etc..

    Plus that big MF markup.

    yes I'm in Florida. Why?

tried email quote from two other dealers- no one would go lower than $620. I wonder if it would be different in person? Or are they just not that interested in ordering a car with euro delivery? (and hence quoting high)

Florida is famous for outrageous dealer fees. Keep expanding your search area, until someone gives you the deal you want.

You could still lease the 2015's, here in FL the 15's have $500 rebate and the 16's have $1000.
