$28,500 (selling price)
$388 DMV/Doc Fees
No sales tax in Oregon
Brings the OTD quote to $28,888
TMV is listing $29,115.
Definitely felt like there was still some room to improve the price when we left the dealership.
What do you think Stever?
Since TMV is an average, your $28,500 quote is about $400 lower than invoice/TMV. So it's better price than what the average buyer is getting.
You're an educated shopper, and we're starting to wind down the month. So yeah, I think your feeling that there was some room to go lower is correct. Maybe cool your heels a few days and then counter with $28k even OTD?
Selling price:$26,488 with destination fee
TMV:27718
OTD is ~$29400
Does this look good, Stever?
My impression is it's a tough buyer's market. My wife went to school in Berkeley and my mom lived outside your area in Antioch/Stockton years ago, but it's such a big area, I dunno, and I sure don't claim any expertise in your region. Prices may be better in Oakland or down in San Jose (I used a San Fran zip for my look-up numbers).
You might do a little bit better waiting until this Friday or Saturday and hope the dealer needs a few more sales to make their monthly bonus numbers.
Good luck!
taxes: 804
doc fees 599
dmv 197
For the FWE, invoice is $27,717.
So you're either $1,000 or $2,000 below invoice. Good either way and that's not counting the extras you got.
The dealer made their profit with that $600 doc fee.
Congrats on the new ride!
Invoice is coming in at $28,819 (including destination of $900). TMV is $28,370 for a Herndon zip. Since TMV is an average, you can see that some people are getting $1,500 off invoice. So your target should be around $27,3000 before taxes and fees.
The $500 doc fee is "normal" and common. It's also a rip-off. Anything over $50 is a rip to me.
So your quote is a little better than invoice without the ad fee. You could shop it around but I doubt that you're going to beat that number by much in TX.
Good luck!
(The $900 destination is included in invoice and TMV above btw)
Dealer Price 28196.00
Tax 1832.74
Lic & Reg: 187.25
Doc Fee: 150
Drive Out: 30365.99
Is this a good price ?
TMV is $28,065, so your price is just average. Hard to call it good, but as noted above, there aren't many good quotes in Texas.
If nothing else, tell the dealer you aren't interested in paying for their advertising - that should come out of the rest of their usual overhead. Good luck!
I am getting complete diff price http://www.edmunds.com/honda/cr-v/2016/st-401582890/options/?legacy=true&zip=75039#step2
Looks like you are in $1,000 off invoice territory and that's good. Enjoy the new ride (I trust you'll do just fine catching any math or other errors at the dealer too.
selling price $24035
doc $299
plate $140
sales tax 6.25%
OTD should be around $25970
I think I am lucky
$2,500 below invoice must be the record for a 2016.
Let us know when you wrap it up - hopefully you won't have any surprises in the F&I room when you go to pay.
2016 AWD EX in mountain air, Kansas.
OTD $20,700. Tax extra.
Trade was valued over 5,000 but it was inflated from what it was worth to make numbers work on their end. Other offers on the trade were in the low 3k range.
I think we did fairly well.
How'd I do?
So you're well below average and your doc fee is decent. You done good.
Congrats! (and thanks for the data point)
I am looking for 2016 CRV EX-L AWD, I live in MA.
The best quote i got with OTD price is $29,100.
One more dealer said, he will give the same for #29000 and cut a check for $200.
Am i good with these rates or is there a room to negotiate.
Invoice is $28,819 for the AWD EX-L and TMV for a Boston zip is very close to invoice. I'm not sure what the TMV spread is for coming up with that average price paid, but you're definitely on the right side of the bell curve. Well, I guess you are on the left side of the curve.
Sounds like a great market up there (for consumers) and it sounds like you have some aggressive dealers seeking your business. Good place to be.
Enjoy!
$25,977 not including tax and dmv charges.
No trims.
Is this a good price or did I get taken for a ride?
Not as good a number as the recent Boston area number above but still $500 below invoice. Sounds like a good enough deal to just be happy and start enjoying the new ride.
If you're still shopping and want to grind a bit, getting a couple of more quotes might save you a few hundred bucks more. May not though.

Sounds great to me. Enjoy!
