    Just closed a deal for a 2016 EX-L w/ RES in CA:

    MSRP: $38,550
    Price: $32,989
Drive Off: $1,446 (fees, acquisition and first month)
    Monthly: $393.68 w/ CA tax.

I kept getting $392.59 on my end but I couldn't tell where the extra $1 was coming from while on the spot, so I just went with it as it was a trivial amount.

They originally rolled in the $595 acq fee which made the adjusted price to $33,584 leading to a $410.87 monthly, matching exactly what I was calculating. But I chose to pay the acq fee up front and the $393 was what they recalculated.

Anyways, not sure if it's just sleazy Honda dealers (this one tried to switch to .0016 MF on the last second) but I felt like the entire experience was horrible. First dealer said they had the color we wanted in stock but clearly didn't when we arrived.

Do they ever throw in the security system? The finance guy was selling hard on it, I'm assuming it was because they had to uninstall it since it's already installed on all the cars.

I also bought the wear and tear making package (which I had to ask for) the total payment to $412.xx

    Appreciate any input. TIA

    Total lease cost: $392.59 x 35 + 1446 = $15,224.80

I was offered a no haggle Costco deal of $425.51/mo including tax on a sign-n-drive lease = $14,892.85 with a selling price of $33,160

On a sign-n-drive lease the lease pays the first month's payment and the money factor goes down to 0.00031 (from 0.00041) so that's why my quote was $331.95 lower despite a selling price that is $171 higher.

Either way, $331.95 isn't a significant amount of money so I wouldn't sweat it. I didn't actually lease the odyssey and got a Sienna instead as it came with NAVI and RES for a lower price.

Here is the deal I am considering. I have a current lease that I will be turning in to Toyota that has 2 months left on it.

Odyssey SE $329/mo, 36/12, zero out of pocket at signing (all fees, taxes, up fronts and first mo pmt rolled in), and paying off $690 of my current lease (which I will return to Toyota on my own). They're also throwing in rubber floor mats, cargo bin, cargo cover, wheel locks and 2 years scheduled maintenance.

The only caveat: They do not have the color I want, and are unwilling to locate it. Presumably because they want to sell what they have on their lot but they said it's because it's a hard color to locate (white) and other dealers don't want to part with it (to be fair there aren't many white SEs around this area). So I would have to settle for my second choice color (grey).

I've contacted several dealerships with a white SE around me (only 3-4 have it), and have not been able to secure a quote that low. They have basically said they will not be able to match it, not within $30 of it.

My question is: I've been told new lease numbers come out 7/6. One dealer (who would not match price) said while the incentives may stay the same, the residuals will lessen which could increase my monthly payment. I'm somewhat afraid to walk away from the $329 deal if it is truly that aggressive, even at a color choice that I'm not as excited about. But I also am tempted to roll the dice and see if the new numbers could make it possible for another dealer to match that quote on a white one. Any advice?

The dealer may or may not be correct. But, with residuals unchanged for the last two months, he may well be correct. Usually, incentives change to keep the monthly payment about the same, but if inventory gets very low, they may not keep doing that.

If you are set on a white SE, then you may have to pay more to get it. Of course, if you wait, you have $690 more money to play with at the end of August.

Now that the July 4th weekend sales are over, can you give me the MF and residual on an Odyssey EX-L in Bergen County New Jersey (north Jersey) and give me an idea of how long these rates typically last?

    What is the MSRP?

What lease term and how many miles per year?

What state and tax rate is this?

.00041 is the correct MF for the Odyssey this month.

In the market for a 2016 EXL lease now.
    • Does 36/10k term exist? Negotiable? Higher residual %?
    • What is the MF and residue% for a 36/12k lease? Any difference than 56% & 0.00041?
    • If the car has factory installed accessories, will the MSRP be higher and thus higher residue $?
    Thank you very much.

.00036 MF and 55% residual. $1250 lease cash

    There is no 10K/yr program

What do you mean by "factory installed"? If it's not on the window sticker, then it likely won't be residualized.
On the website, you might see a lot of things under "Accessories", but those are almost always dealer installed, and not included in the MSRP.

To get a low lease price, avoid accessories

Yes, they are mud guard, roof rail...seem like dealer installed. I will avoid them.

Can someone post the current Residuals on the EXL w/Nav or w/Res and the Touring?

I have an offer on the table to lease a 2016 EXL (all thru text message, was great):
    31,300 sell price
    595 acquisition fee
    209 tax/reg
    1042 sales tax
    699 doc
    Residual of 20692

Comes to around $369/mo sign and drive

I'm wondering if I might could get the same % discount on the higher end model and if it has a higher residual would come to a similar monthly payment?

Also, any guesses on what a 2017 EXL Lease will look like when they hit in Sept?

No clue on what 2017 lease numbers will look like - if there is a lot of 2016 inventory still available, I imagine Honda will want to push those and, therefore, make the 2017 leases less attractive at first.

    53% for EX-L w/ NAV or w/ RES and .00036 MF

If I add all the taxes and fees to the selling price, and assume the MSRP is $39,042, I get a payment of $385/mo.

Your quote looks pretty solid by comparison.

BTW, Touring residuals are lower - 50% for 36/12. Coupled with a higher MSRP, that will result in a much higher payment.

thank you - last question is the Residual on the Special Edition?

This is in NC, basically we bought a Pathfinder with one kid 2 years ago but now have 2 and need the minivan. I'm trying to sell the Pathfinder and take the equity to basically pay for 3yrs worth of an Odyssey lease.

Lease cash is a dealer incentive. Use your knowledge of the incentive to negotiate a low selling price.

The "lease cash" is an incentive to the dealer which they aren't letting buyers know right?

The dealer is under no obligation to pass along the lease cash to the customer.

However, most dealers are willing to share that money - use the knowledge to make your best deal.

@Michaell would love your help. We have got a quote for an Odyssey 2016 EX-L, no navigation, 36 months, 12,000 miles/year. No money down. With a lease payment of $399/month and that's inclusive of taxes and fees. We just pay the tags in Florida. So. After reading your forum today, it now says that we went about it backwards and need to find out what the actual MSRP is. Can you please help us? Why do we need to do that? Is this still a good deal? We went to other dealers, and everyone said if you can get that, take it. So we thought it was a good deal. Now I'm panicking. Trying to do this for tomorrow.

We went to other dealers, and everyone said if you can get that, take it. So we thought it was a good deal. Now I'm panicking. Trying to do this for tomorrow.

In NC I had an offer for same car at $369/mo sign and drive, I didn't act at end of last month and now he is trying to tell me its $390/mo but I think I just need to wait until EOM again.

I think its all about the dealer on this, I sent this quote to another closer to me and they would not match and are nowhere near.

For sure. Dealer said 399/mo. When we got there, said no and added first month. We walked out and left. Called another dealer. They matched the $399. Done deal. Don't let them push you around.

You don't want to go shoot the monthly payment, you want to negotiate the selling price. That will get you your lowest lease payment.

On the fence right now. Should I lease a 2016 Honda Odyssey Elite Touring? I can buy a 2014 CPO Touring Elite for $32,500. My fear is getting stuck with a car that has issues and the Odyssey is no exception according to my friends. I think I can negotiate the dealer down to $41K for the 2016 car based on True Market Value in my area. If I drive 12K miles a year, what should the lease payments for the 2016 be? The depreciation on the car for 3 years is about $14,000. Never leased before but willing to try it but I don't want to be a sucker. Any help will be appreciated.

    Thank you

.00036 MF and 50% residual for 36/12. $1250 lease cash

That's $543/mo., if the $595 acquisition fee is added to the sale price of $41K.
The depreciation on the lease is a lot higher than $14K for three years.

Yep, you are correct. I was going by the TRUE COST to own on this site, that is something completely different. Price of vehicle is $40,597 which is a great price if I was buying.

Residual is 50% at $22,887 and the MF is .000360. Lease cash of $1250 was not mentioned at all.

With $2000 down, the monthly payment is $505, 36 months, 12K miles. Our tax rate is 8%, so the dealer quoted me $546.90.

With $3000 down, the monthly payment is $478, 36 months, 12K miles. With the same tax rate of 8%, the dealer quoted me $517.95.

Such a big difference in payments from the SE and EX. Thank you for your time, I guess leasing is not for me at this time.

Lease cash is a Honda-to-dealer incentive. They likely wouldn't disclose that.

Yes, August numbers are the same as July.

New numbers after the Labor Day weekend.

    55% and .00036

$1000 lease cash on SE; $1250 lease cash on EX-L
