i got a quote for a 2016 odyssey EX, I'm in charlotte, NC, is this a good lease deal $370/mo for 12k/year with residual of 18,311 and money factor of 0.00030??? I'm ready to pull the trigger, please let me know, I'm ignorant on leases.

1) Discounted price of the Odyssey $27,839.64   2) Tax $878.25   3) Documentation Fee  $649.  4) Registration $109.  5) wheel locks and Nitrogen in tire and Roof Rails on the roof, for an Out The Door Price of $30, 262 plus some pennies.

I asked about lease, this is what I get back

The monthly payment with no money down and just the first payment due at signing will be in the low $370's . The residual will be $18,311.50  , and the money factor ,if qualified , will be .00030, and this is all based on a 36month/36,000 mile lease through Honda Financial , and based on the numbers I sent you.

I get $347/mo plus tax. I believe NC taxes the monthly payment; ask the dealer what the $878.25 is for.

We don't track selling prices; don't know how much of a discount you can get from sticker.

NC taxes the monthly payment for a lease, so the $878 is irrelevant.

Is this a good deal? I don't know how they came up with 447/mo, seem to me it should be lower but considering it's a touring elite, it's not bad??

$380/mo plus tax with those prices.

Ask the dealer what the adjusted cap cost is, if you are adding the fees to the lease payment

based on that residual, they are quoting you on an ex-l, NOT a Touring Elite! Be careful. Follow up if you want more elaboration.

I respectfully disagree - I show the 36/12 residual as:

EX-L = 53%
EX-L NAV or RES = 51%
Touring or Touring Elite = 48%

I don't know Charlotte, but typically if you know what you want and understand your numbers, and you go directly to the top of the food chain, ie, the managers who can do the calculations AND have the authority to set price, at enough dealerships, you stand the best chance of getting an advantageous deal. Remember, the dealerships need to sell you that car worse than you need to buy it, and it's the end of the month. You can't imagine the pressure they are under. If you narrow down your choice to a specific model or budget, I am happy to share what I think your goal should be based on what I perceive to be dealer cost. A couple of key things I see. The gross and net cap costs seem backwards. The net includes the sales tax.

Truecar lists the invoice at around 34350, so the sale price is about $890 below invoice-lease cash.

Lastly, when I plug these numbers into multiple calculators I get lower payments, like I should be around $370. Thanks for any insight.

I get $385/mo using the net cap cost.

On line calculators often make assumptions that skew the results.

The residual percentage is correct, but if that MSRP is correct, then the residual dollar amount listed is wrong.
$19663, if the MSRP is correct.

The monthly payment numbers seem about right, though. The only thing off is the residual amount, which I would assume to be a typo of some kind.

I've had best experience so far with Scott Clark Honda in CLT, not to say it has been great. Last summer I had an offer for $369/mo sign and drive lease on EXL, was headed out of town and missed the deal. After passing on that then going back they jacked up price $100/month. Haven't been able to get back to $369/mo yet, though I pulled back waiting on 2018's to hit.

I think anything on an EXL below $400 month, sign and drive is a good deal. The Residuals have been falling though which messes up the math. Sounds like they have 'Lease Cash' on these to help though

51% and - uh, oh, no supported MF on the 2016 Odyssey, this month.

Looks like .00200 is the going rate, and there is a "final inventory" payoff to the dealer of $1650 - this can be passed along to the customer.

Might be time to look at a 2017.
