Audi A6 Wagon 2006 or 2007, loved the lines. I think my first one for the new gen A6.

Also a Lotus Elise, yellow in color.

    2016 Audi A7 3.0T S Line, 2021 Subaru WRX

Spotted a bunch of new CRV's. I think they are becoming as common as the new RAV4's which is crazy.
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
Oddly enough I saw 2 of them as well. One at the Sears parking lot, another out on the road. They seem to be getting out there quickly.

I saw a Saturn Sky. First time I've seen one outside of the auto shows.
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,415
I'm not sure what it was, a F360 or F430 roadster. I saw it from my office building, where I was 4 floors up, so I could look down and see the engine through the transparent cover. Pretty cool.
  • anythngbutgmanythngbutgm Member Posts: 4,277
They look much much better in person than on camera. They have a Cranberry red color that really looks quite sharp for a curvy SUV...

Saw a couple of them at the restaurant we visited this evening. Both of them white. Ironically, a Silver Acura RDX was parked smack dab in the middle of both of them!

Saturn Aura. Personally I was not too impressed with the styling. Now that I have seen it in person.
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,415
My first new CRV today. Looks taller and boxier in person than in print. Somehow, it's less offensive too.
  • british_roverbritish_rover Member Posts: 8,502
I dont like the under bite.
    Looks funny.
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,415
Yeah, it's no beauty queen. Just another slightly ugly little soft-roader...lots of them out there these days.

Maybe it's that ex-Saturn designer at work.
  • anythngbutgmanythngbutgm Member Posts: 4,277
Went out for drinks and saw a few more CRV's and a brand spankin new ES350 in Triple Black. Pretty sharp looking car in that color with the big 18" wheels. Also saw an S3 and a new Laguna Blue S2000.
  • teds1teds1 Member Posts: 180
They really must have just dumped the new CRVs out in the states... I saw about 5 this weekend... not a fan at all... in anyway. Yukk.
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,415
I saw about everything new yesterday morning.

Those "warts" underneath the CRV are painful, and the underbite aint pretty up close either. Who designed it?
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
I saw one in my garage and those warts are less noticeable, maybe because they're at ground level.

In white.... sort of generic.. but, non-offensive..

I saw 3 07 Escalades today, and a CLS55 AMG (or at least it was badged as such)
  • kyfdxkyfdx Moderator Posts: 265,565
Almost every CLS that I see is an AMG model... Out of the ten or so... I think I've only seen one non-AMG..

I saw a Mercedes G-Wagon today. Boy does that thing look like an old Land Rover. But the thing that caught my eye wasn't the vehicle itself, but the amount of mud that was on it, the guy was doing some serious OR'n, this wasn't the throw the mud (like Jeep commercial) on either. I've been OR many times and can tell the difference.

A new Camry, and later a 2nd one.

An A6 with the wide-mouth bass grille.

Tacoma fleet truck. Toyota seems to sell more and more to fleets.

Caliber - then a 2nd one a little later. These are getting around quickly.

    Civic.

Suburban. Boy these still seem too huge.

Malibu, with the new front end. A little cleaner but I still prefer the Opel.

    Subaru Tribeca. Nice seafoam color.

Must have been an old grey market car...around here anyway, the only time a G-wagen goes off road is when it is in the shopping mall parking garage.
  • british_roverbritish_rover Member Posts: 8,502
Eos a base model that was being detailed in our detail shop today.

The top is so cool in that car.
  • navigator89navigator89 Member Posts: 1,080
two Camrys, the first was oddly enough in lime green, the second was white with a sport package.

Also spotted a black Hummer H1. Up close, that thing is ginormous.

...a bronze-colored Saturn Aura on Roosevelt Blvd above Grant in NE Philly. This is the first one I've seen outside of a car show.

Saw a new Rav4 that appeared to have been hit my a new VW Passat. Half the rear bumper on Rav was gone. Front left side of Passat was wrecked pretty nicely. Someone must have rear ended the Passat as there was some damage to the rear bumper but the freaky part was that the rear window has shattered, all the glass was in the back seat. Don't think you'll be seeing that in one of VW's "Oh Sh*t" commercials.
  • lemkolemko Member Posts: 15,261
...saw a white Chevrolet Colorado work truck with a Reading body that appeared to have dual rectangular sealed-beam headlamps in place of the regular composite lights. I find it strange that GM would use sealed-beam units in this truck and go through the extra expense of tooling the sockets and bezels to accept them. It didn't look like somebody's home-made attempt. It kind of reminded me of what Chrysler did with its 1957 cars for states in which quad headlamps were not yet legal.
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
These may not be considered "new" any more, but saw another one.

Also a 3 series sedan and a Subaru Tribeca.

I guess when I start seeing the G35, I'll consider the M35 no longer new.

I actually saw a G280 the other day. Those are the original grey market imports from the 1980s-90s before they officially started selling the G500/G55 through dealerships. Looks the same but is cooler for those reasons.

Also I have seen a few 335 coupes which I am beyond sold on... fantastic design.

Can't be sure (saw from a cab) but I think the Maserati showroom on Park has an MC12! Got to check THAT one out as there are only 25 in the world.

bunch of Rav4s and CRVs too.

...upstate on the NE Extension of the PA Turpike - a silver Saturn Sky with a black top. Also spotted a silver-green Cadillac DTS.
  • rockyleerockylee Member Posts: 14,017
Those Sky's are sure nice. I wished they were a lil' bigger so I could atleast consider one. :) The new DTS's are nice. The only things like I've said before that are missing is RWD, and the Bose studio 5.1 surround sound system. 350 hp. wouldn't hurt either. I remember back in the early 90's Cadillac was a leader in horsepower, now they have slipped behind the eight ball in that area. Hope fully GM will get it's mojo back and startbeing very competitive once again in that area. GM, needs to dump all supercharging and either go to turbocharging or use modern engine technology plus increase displacement to make the base V-8 have atleast 400 hp. I think a new modern OHC Northstar, needs to hit the shelf here in the very near future. ;)

Which early '90s was this? The LS400 had 250hp and the Q45 was around 310hp in 1989 (the 276hp rating was an artifact of the Japanese market), while Cadillac had nothing better than a 200hp pushrod V8 as late as 1992.

The Q45's power rating back in the day was over hyped just like it was in 2005-2006 thus causing SAE loss overall for the Japanese cars. :D Lexus has 250 hp, seriously whoopie and I'm not sure why you brought them up ? :P

The 1993 and beyond Cadillac Seville/Eldorado STS-ETC ran 0-60 in 6.2-6.4 and topped out 155 mph. *elect. limited

Bah, I'll just take a MB 500E from that time
  • british_roverbritish_rover Member Posts: 8,502
thing caddy was a leader of back in the 1990s was senior transportation.
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,415
Very cool, that would be quite an old G too.
  • gsemikegsemike Member Posts: 2,412
but I saw an Aston Martin DB9 yesterday parked in front of a startbucks in Glen Cove Long Island. People have money over there but not like that. That car really really turns heads.

I drove one of those a couple of weeks ago. Such a hot car.

Yesterday one of my car collector clients brought in his Smart Car that he bought back in March. I didn't get a chance to drive it but it drew quite a crowd as it pulled up and parked next to a Range Rover.
  • odie6lodie6l Member Posts: 1,173
Ran into the driver up at a local shopping center. I know from all the accessories he has on it. I asked him what year his G was and he replied a well driven 2003. He has almost 175,000 miles on it, but purchased it at the Manheim Auto Auction with 75,000 in late 2004. I asked him about all the mud and he said he wanted to prove to his wife and sister-in-law that the car could handle anything the hunting trail could throw at him, plus he had just come home from Bow hunting up near Laporte,Pa. I wish I had my camera with me.

You're not talking about a G35 are you?
  • british_roverbritish_rover Member Posts: 8,502
    He meant a G500.
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,415
    That's fantastic. If I had a G I would see about the off-road hobby.

    I actually had a dream I had a G the other night...but it was a 2 door with a plaid interior...
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,415
Oh yeah...I swear I saw an R55 AMG today, or some kind of souped up Pacifica.
  • british_roverbritish_rover Member Posts: 8,502
Ughh you know those are by special order only?

Someone had to actually go into a MB dealership and say, "I want a butt ugly over priced, 500 horespower minivan please."

Is it going to be a R55 or a R63?
  • anythngbutgmanythngbutgm Member Posts: 4,277
Drove a new Sebring at the Boston Auto Show yesterday. Gotta admit, it is a handsome car on the exterior and the interior was well done. The one I drove had the 2.7 which was peppy and the car itself was very tight (solid). I'd put it on par with the excellent Fusion triplets and even the Saturn Aura. Made the G6 and ESPECIALLY the Malibu look like outdated clunklers.

Also, checked out most of the new 07's so I can't narrow any sighting down to just one car since I saw all of them! But some of the new models that really impressed:

Mitsu Outlander - Ton of effort there. Very impressive.

Acura MDX - The concept kinda gave me a cold shoulder, but the finished product came oout awesome. I want one.

Ford Edge - seem well built and competitive. The Lincoln nose ruins the look IMO.

Honda CRV- The nose is fine. The interior is top notch. They'l sell a ton of them.

Some of the most impressive current offerings:
    - Infiniti M
    - Toyota RAV4
    - Lexus LS and GS
    - Mercedes. These guys are coming back with a vengence. Outstanding build quality and paint quality. AMG's abound there...
    - Honda Ody Touring
    - Mazda MX-5 H/T
    - Acura RDX, same scenario I had with the MDX. Good job.
    - Best of all, the new Tundra was there. One of them and it was HUGE! Pricing was unavailable, but this one matched the Titan and the domestics on a lot of fronts.

Outside the show, on the way home, I spotted 2 new GL450's, a couple of Volvo R's, 2 Acura RDX's, a bunch of new CRV's and RAV4's, 2 Habenero Red Civic Si's, a couple of Honda Fit's and FJ cruisers on all sorts of colors. It was a great day for car spotting, that's for sure.
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,415
The one I saw had AMG body cladding, wheels, and it was sitting lower than a normal R. I didn't get to see the rear (and I am not complaining).

    I've heard both R55 and R63 talked about...but I don't know.
