It is still a FWD-biased mommy-mobile... But, now it has an improved AWD system (SH-AWD) and 300hp.. Plus, they butched up the looks a little..

Not my kind of vehicle, but I think they'll sell a ton of them.

Oh I am sure they will. Our dealership is right next to an Acura place.
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,415
The new one looks smaller anyway.

I suspect they sharpened the looks to get a male audience (like Toyota tried with the 2002 Camry)...when you try too hard, you won't meet the exact goal.

But yeah, they'll sell every one they bring to my area anyway, it's the sister car to the RX, with the same stereotypes.

Yesterday driving back from a meeting I passed
my first RDX... Not especially eyecatching but at least I noticed it, my first LS460, actually very nice looking, another sebring, a nitro, a maybach 62, and a black Z06 all on Lexington avenue in about 20 blocks
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,415
I stopped by a MB dealer today, and saw both a E63 and CLS63. I'd take either.

They also had just about everything from the non-AMG lineup. The new-nose E class really has a beak when you stand up next to it, odd somehow.
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
I saw one, too. First and only so far.

I like everything except that grille, it just looks tacked on.

I agree on the grill/nose. As sloopy as the CLS and new E-Class are the nose should be less pointy more sloopy.

a beautiful red Ferrari 360 Spider in heavy traffic. I was right beside and was able to admire the scoops, the brakes, the engine, the tires. Wow.
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,415
Yeah, a smoother more laid back front clip would work better on those cars. The way the the front bumper on the E appears to angle down from the ends is odd too. And about the Ferrari, I love the 360/430 because you can see the engine. Awesome design.
  • british_roverbritish_rover Member Posts: 8,502
The 430 has the most comfortable Sport seats I have ever been in. It only took me about 30 seconds to adjust them the way I wanted and man is that F1 tranny smooth. I didn't even get a chance to open her up and it felt like hand of god acceleration.

New BMW X5 on a test drive. Looks smaller than the older one, but I like it.

Also see RDXs around, and MDXs.

Same here, saw an RDX yesterday and a new MDX before that.

Not sure I like the MDX grille, but maybe it'll grow on me. Looks smaller than the old model, at least it appears that way.

  • lemkolemko Member Posts: 15,261
Yes. This is the second one I've seen this week.
  • rockyleerockylee Member Posts: 14,017
WOW, I'm yet to see a 07' Denali down here. I've seen plenty of Escalades though. ;)

  • rockyleerockylee Member Posts: 14,017
Lemko, if you get a chance for fun take a Escalade for a test drive. I'd like to hear your reaction. :)

...what appeared to be a red Pontiac G5. I didn't know it was already out. Maybe it was a Canadian Pursuit?
  • rockyleerockylee Member Posts: 14,017
lemko, it must of been a Pursuit because the G5 to the best of my knowledge isn't out yet. ;)

  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,415
Funny that Canada got what is in effect the G5 from the time the Cobalt was introduced. Then again, Canada does tend to be more progressive.
  • rockyleerockylee Member Posts: 14,017
LOL, I like Canada alot but you might offended others in this forum. :D

    Silly canadians.

    BLAME CANADA :P
  • bumpybumpy Member Posts: 4,425
The G5 has been trickling out since around September, and I've seen one or two around here. All GM had to do was rearrange the parts bins at Lordstown. I think the G5 is coupe-only for now, though.

Green 2007 Mx-5 Miata on 66th steet and York Ave. Couldn't figure out what was so differnt about it till I realized it had the new folding hardtop.

Was there a pun intended with that? Cause if so, I see about 10 Slades parked outside the school in my town every morning!

    Last night, actually.

I really enjoyed the SLK350 I drove, wonder if the 280 is as fun.

Excellent, talk about meeting the stereotype.
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
I really like these. And there are a few Nissan products that I don't like much at all (Sentra, Quest, even 350Z for some reason).

Not sure why but I like Infiniti's products a lot better.

I like RWD, but that's not it. The Z is RWD.

I think in the pass/fail test for the interior, the Nissans fail while the luxury cars more than pass. The M looks gorgeous inside, while some Nissans look and feel cheap.

Of course I haven't looked in a couple of years and I'm sure they've improved.

I just noticed a Chrysler that looks about as big if not bigger than a Durango today. Boy is it huge. It was sharp looking, but the ridges the entire way across the hood looked out of place.

I think you saw the new Chrysler Aspen, which is based on the Durango. Speaking of durangos I rarely see any on the road anymore.

They are cheap compared to Infinitis. I very much like their new offerings

I've seen several new Silveradoes in dealerships and one on the road the other day. I also saw a new Sierra pulled up at my local gas station. Mega Cabs are all over the roads now where I live and so are new Tahoes, Suburbans and Aspens. There is also an EL that I've spotted several times running errands around town.
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
Went to a Chrysler/Jeep dealer and saw a bunch of new Wranglers. They had no 4 doors in stock, said they can't get 'em fast enough.

I like the new 3 piece hard top, seems very flexible.

Not new anymore, but I saw a black Maybach 57 in Seattle today...

Also spotted a couple Audi Q7
  • lemkolemko Member Posts: 15,261
...new dark gray Chrysler Aspen. Let's just hope people don't remember the Dodge Aspen of 1976-80.

Looks smaller than the old one, for some reason. I guess that's a good thing.

  • british_roverbritish_rover Member Posts: 8,502
    Its not.

It is actually larger then the old one but with less interior room... :confuse:
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
    Less practical shape, I guess.

It did feel a little tighter inside. OK for my needs, though. Too rich for my budget, though.
