Pulled in today to look at a Range Rover.
i was nervous! the clutch was pretty easy to get used to, and i liked the short throw shift. hearing the engine from the back felt unusual.
I think the are supposed to be out in the spring sometime. A guy I know works for Hyundai corporate and was driving it, so I got to sit in the thing. You could stick a lexus label on it and plenty of people would believe it.

I have seen a bunch of Nitros around as well and they look ok. Not sure why they need to exist though, and those macho commercials are dumb.
Silver Phantom RR at lunch today, most road presence of any car by far...
I agree. I'm not really sure why not only the Nitro but also the Compass and Patriot even exist.
Saw a gold Maserati Qauttroporte today.
Also saw a red F430 driving in the rain (I think it's the same driver I saw a few weeks ago).
And for the first time I saw a Jeep Compass. Totally unappealing to me. I especially don't like the way the front bumper is molded, just screams of cheapness. But then again for $20k it will probably appeal to some who always wanted a Jeep.

The best place to really blast a car to top speed would be on the desert highway leading to Saudi Arabia where there almost no cars. I've travelled thats stretch doing 150 km/h.

I agree by the way that one of the worst features of the compass is that stupid rear bumper with the logo in it.

Outlooks was very nice, solid, but awful visibility with wide pillars and a high rear hatch. 2nd and 3rd row seats were uncomfortable as well. Steering and ride, plus engine and trans, all quite impressive.
G6 was not nearly as impressive dynamically, but had great visibility for a convertible. So it was the exact opposite.

What were they thinking? In the new C&D, this car came in dead last. The Kia Optima placed a respectable third behind the Altima and Accord and ahead of the Camry.
This is 100 times nicer looking than the Sebring:
I mean, even the Malibu looks better than the Sebring.
I don't even like the new Sebring convertible. And I may need a 4 seat 'vert to replace the Miata.
Saw a new CR-V at lunch today.

Whomever designed this must have had some weird hardpoints that he/she had to meet up with. Yuck.

Why not? I love the hardtop convert option. The design looks a lot better than the old one. Looks like there is more back seat room.
I'm not crazy about the stripes on the hood or the headlights. It's not like they're a deal killer, but I don't find it attractive.

Saw an MDX and then a white BMW 3 series coupe.

Ford Edge not bad looking, several were on display at the preview to the Barrett-Jackson Auction. I suspect they'll become invisible in a short time.
Mercedes R-Class seem to be all over Phoenix, Scottsdale and Mesa, for some reason they're all black. My wife says they don't look expensive enough to be Benzes. I think she's right, an E-class wagon looks a lot classier.
Audi Q7 I can't wrap my head around the concept of an ugly Audi but I'm not the only one, the Q7 seems to be a pretty rare bird. IMO it's the least good looking of the Cayenne/Toureg family. To my eyes the Toureg is the best looking.... go figure.
In the non-CUV category I saw a couple of new 328i coup[es and a convertible that was probably a 335ci. They look just as good as the photos suggest. BMW is moving away from Banglization and back to clean, understated but handsome styling.. Hooray!

Also spotted two Bentley Continentals and some other vehicles that you wouldn't expect to find in Europe, such as a Mustang GT, Trailblazer, Yukon, Suburban, Windstar, Sienna, and two Navigators. Gas is very expensive there, like 1.3 euros.
Also saw a new Dodge Nitro. It's smaller than I expected.

I also saw a new Senta this morning. Looks a bit like a compact-size Ford Fusion. Also saw a bronze C6 Corvette at the dealer. That color works for the Murano and 350Z, but the 'vette is too bulgy in the wrong places to carry it off.
