Working with a car broker to get a deal on a 2017 Limited Ultimate with tech package. Looking at $1000 drive-offs (nothing else down) and $481/month including tax. Does this sound like a good deal or do you think I could get something better just going through the internet dept.? Thanks!

Would need to know the following in order to comment:

    MSRP
Negotiated selling price or adjusted cap cost
    State and tax rate

How much is the broker charging you for this service?

He gets commission from the dealer--I'm finding that his prices are similar if not even slightly higher than I'm getting via email.... Don't have the other details as this was a price he quoted me over the phone, but I'm in CA.

Keep us posted; I get the convenience of using a broker to manage the deal but have always thought that you could do just as good, or better, on your own.

Play the dealers off against one another - that should get you the best price.

Yesterday Michaell helped me with a question about a Kia Sorento. The dealer was far enough away from his numbers that I'm going to shop around before I go back (e.g. MF was .00165 vs .00125). The 2017 Santa Fe is certainly competitive.

Looking for 24/12 MF and resid% for 2017 Santa Fe Limited Ultimate AWD.
Also 24/12 MF and resid% for 2017 Santa Fe SE Ultimate AWD if it's different. Any incentives would be helpful, too. For example, you mentioned 2100 for the Kia Sorento. We have excellent credit. We're in Portland, OR.

Thanks again! This forum is fantastic and I wish I knew about it when we leased our Highlander three years ago!

I used this info to negotiate a great deal on a Hyundai Santa Fe Limited Ultimate. It has everything except the technology package (adaptive cruise, etc.). We negotiated price before talking about leasing or financing. Before going to the lot, I dug around and guess-timated that there is around 20% between MSRP and the price the dealer pays (not the invoice price). My goal was to get down to 85% of MSRP and we finally did.

When we got around to leasing, the initial offer used an inflated MF. Then we started negotiating for real! I stuck to my guns and after a protracted delay they had an oops-you-were-right-we-were-looking-at-the-wrong-numbers moment and we got the MF terms kyfdx posted.

Overall, the lease came down by nearly $100 per month between the MF and other fees that were negotiated and/or moved around to our advantage. We had enough equity on our previous lease that we did not put cash down. I got my desired monthy payment by using kyfdx's info to know this deal backwards-and-forwards before I walked onto the lot. I built spreadsheets with formulas I found at edmunds.com and other sites. Once I "understood" the formulas and what was going on within a lease I also used Leasematic, a leasing calculator that works on iPhones and perhaps other devices. Its numbers were the same as my spreadsheets, so after some testing at home I felt very well armed stepping onto the lot with a firm (if basic) understanding of lease structure, a calculator that I trusted, and legitimate residual and MF factors.

My family ended up with a car that exceeds our expectations for an exceptional purchase price and lease terms. We did a lot of research, car-lot surfing, internet browsing, etc. But the most critical piece of information was the MF and R% provided here.

.00024 / 69% was the piece of info that made it possible. I feel like a rock star. Thank you!

    Hello,
Decided to lease a 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe limited Ultimate FWD with Tech Package using my fathers Hyundai circle discount,

Selling price 46,435.00 (sales manager stated that the price was higher because I live in Honolulu, HI)
    MRSP 42,885.00
    Invoice 40,518.00
    Hyundai circle price: 31,938.40

    I was quoted:
    $2250 in rebates
    57% residual (24,444.48)
    36month/12k special preferred lease.
    Monthly payments $237
    No down payment
    Rent charge $8904.24

I was thrilled and agreed to all the numbers. Signed the closed end motor vehicle lease and drove off the lot in my new Santa fe. Two days later I got a call stating that the Circle plan didn't allow the dealership to use any rebates or incentives and that I didn't qualify for the preferred/special lease. I was told that I could keep the Circle discount WITHOUT the $2250 in rebates and change to a standard lease. With the standard lease my payments would go up to $479 a month and the residual would be 56% (24015.60).

I just don't understand how my payments doubled? I feel like the dealership is trying to get one over on me. Please help,I have never done a lease before so all of this is new to me. Does the numbers sound correct to you guys? Should the payment double? Can you price a vehicle above MRSP in Hawaii? I was also told a could bring the car back to the dealership if I didn't agree to the new deal.

Additional information: LSE ACQ Fee $595
    Hawaii sales tax: 4.712
    Document fee $245
    License Fee $365.90
Credit score that the sales manager pulled in his office was 739.

Credit score that the sales manager pulled in his office was 739.

I don't know anything about Hyundai Circle, but I do know that you can't lease a $43K car for $237/mo.

Either the dealership was clueless, or they are trying to pull something over on you. Just take the vehicle back and start over.

    Hello

I can not get my payment to equal the dealers quote. We are off $25 month x 24. Here are the details:

2017 Santa Fe Limited Ultimate AWD msrp $42815

    Sell price $38981

    Rebates $ 3150

    Acq fee $595

    doc fee $135

    NJ reg fees $331

    Due at inception $1000

This is a NJ lease 24/12 with 7% tax rate.

Dealer quote 325 month with $1000 down. I am calculating $299.46 month with 1k down.

Would appreciate if you can run these numbers and calculate a payment.

Also would a 36/12 be a better lease?

    Thank you

$1000 due at inception does not equal $1000 down.
Are you subtracting the $1000 from the CAP cost?
    That could be the difference.
Or, maybe it's taxes? I don't see tax in your numbers.

Tax is 7% and $1000 due at inception. Can you calculate a payment off of this information?

    Thank you

Adding the $595 acq.fee to the CAP cost ($1000 doesn't look to be enough to pay all the fees and first payment), I get $302/mo.+tax. That's pretty close to $325/mo.

Looks like a great deal for a 24 month lease.
