Can someone please comment and advise on this lease quote I received from a dealer today for a 2016.5 AWD Touring with Moonroof quote and see if there's room for negotiation. I think it seems a little high.

.00049 and 64%. I get $302/mo, so pretty close to the dealer quote.

My guess is KBB isn't including the destination charge in their MSRP.

I don't track pricing, so can't tell you if you can get more than $500 off sticker.

However, to get from $300/mo to $275/mo, you'll have to negotiate almost $1000 off the price. And another $1000 to get to $250/mo

Your numbers give me a payment of $321/mo, so pretty close to the quote.

However, I thought sales tax on leases in MI were applied to the monthly payment, not to the entire selling price. Looks like the dealer as mixed purchase and lease information in the same quote.

If I back out the tax amount from the total, I get $274/mo plus tax; if the tax rate is 6% (guess on my part), then the payment is roughly $290/mo.

Is there any reason why one dealer would tax the vehicle price and another would tax just the monthly payments within the same state? I believe you are correct that the cars here should be taxed on the monthly payments.

No.. both dealers have to calculate the tax the same way. The dealer showing full tax is just trying to obfuscate the actual price paid on the lease.

Hi @teaseywolv just for comparison, I was able to negotiate a deal today for the same model/trim (2016.5 AWD moonroof) as you for $270/month, 0 down, 2000 taxes/fees (NY requires upfront tax be paid) for 36/10k. hope that helps!

On a 2016.5 Sport with MSRP of 24,550, I was offered 21,000, after all incentives. Using your info for a 36 month, 15,000 mile lease, I'm coming in around $220 on a zero down where I pay inceptions. Dealer comes up wth 265. . Can you figure out who's right, or what additional expenses are being added?

Which state?

AWD or FWD?

It's possible that some incentives quoted aren't available for a lease.. Also, there is tax.

$192/mo.+tax, with those numbers.

Ask for the adjusted CAP cost. If it's different from $21,000, then ask why.
"Inceptions" is a broad term. Find out what you are paying at signing, and what else has been added to the $21,000 that's in the lease.

difference is 341 the first payment -- so put in one place -- then taken out another place (slightly higher with 400) so basically thats the deal and added $59

oops.... typo.. 3 zeroes. Generally, a money factor never goes beyond five digits after the decimal. Good catch!

For FWD, add 1% for Touring. .00049 MF

In case this could help anyone else -- here is the deal I got today on a 2016.5 CX-5 Grand Touring:

MSRP is 30,770.

I walked out with final price of 29,641. This includes everything -- processing, doc fees, acquis fee -- everything

Selling price before fees was $28568

Is there any lease incentives in June? I thought I read somewhere there was a $700 incentive. I am located in Houston, TX.
This is my first Mazda, and I have to admit, there is not a lot of wiggle room with the Mazda dealers. Most are 5-7.5% down from MSRP. Are other seeing the same in this region?
