was out earlier, and got stuck at a light, right behind a red Q50. I believe same color GG just got. I like it in person. Sharp. Not too bright either.
That's what a former co-worker has and is fretting over because of the batteries. When they go, they are very expensive and according to him, that looming cost has really depressed resale values.

My sister did say she got an extended warranty - but I wonder if it covers the batteries.

Do not, I repeat, do not buy a Spark! They are just dismal and think after the newness novelty wears off, you will be totally unhappy. Last one I drove had the front tire explode on the expressway which caused over $1250 in damages to it, front bumper was hanging off and vehicle was undriveable. You want a new vehicle, hey, I get it but, your Soul is still a better vehicle. Be smart, save the money and wait another year, possibly two. Then, get a better vehicle that will keep the wife happy and one you will really enjoy. Think if you really take some time and really think here, you'll come to the same conclusion. Kinda in the same boat as you are. Really like my current ride but...want something different. And by different, leaning towards a 3 Series BMW. Found one a few weeks back, but just couldn't pull the trigger. They now have a one year newer one, great color combo that I really really like because it isn't a very popular combo. Decent price, decent miles. But, still haven't gone for a test drive and as of Friday, still on the lot. But, even though I do like it, the timing's just off. Not to mention the static I'd get from the wife and one of the kids. Can afford it by just writing a check but, my logical side is just saying wait, wait for the right time. As hard as that it, I'm biting the bullet and just going to wait for I know that when the timing is right, I'll find the perfect vehicle and won't hesitate to pull the trigger. And I won't look back, like a couple years ago when I traded into the Golf.

this one is nice. Like the equipment. Price seems OK for a 2014, but that obviously reflects the steep miles. Probably still too high, but as always, I can never judge that. Probably need to drop a couple grand more to make it worth while. Oh, and become a different color combo.

well, it finally happened. Was surfing around looking at houses online, and found the perfect place. I kept saying I wanted a huge garage with a minimal living space attached. Well, apparently, someone actually built it. Awesome bachelor pad (would have to be, because no way in Hades my wife would go for it!)

Of course, mine happened to have a bad tire. But overall, the Spark is just dismal and think they'll be very unhappy within a very short time. My opinion, but since we both seem to prefer smaller vehicles, just trying to give some advice as I've driven a number of these, brand new ones with the plastic still on the seats, and it was really an awful experience each and every time! Their current Soul is just so much better!!! Saw some pics of the new Mini Countryman and really like it. Of course the "S" model is my first choice which is at the top of the price range but, I do plan to get exactly what I want next time and keep it for a longer period of time. Have also read that VW is coming out with a new smaller vehicle, a smaller Tiguan, which would be very appealing. Think I'd go with a new VW over a Mini only if the ride is somewhat better. And if it will ride as well as my current Golf, would be a no-brainer as I think we'll still be in our current house for at least another 5 or so years. So I will still need a vehicle no bigger than 185" or so, which cuts down on the available choices to pick from. Such is life I guess!

I was up in @explorerx4 neck of the woods this weekend for a hockey tournament for my 10 year old son. Before I left on Friday, the carpeting was laid down and my basement (after getting flooded back in November).
Monday, the installer was here about an hour - dropped off most of the materials, but had to go to the other side of town to get the rest of the materials and his tools. We agreed that he would show up around 8 on Tuesday.
Tuesday, no installer. Called our salesperson, called the state level project manager. Never found out why, but the original installed won't be completing my job. Project manager scrambles to find replacement installers (they're subcontractors).
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, the installer and his brother work 9-5. Decent progress is made.
Today, they were here from 9-8 to wrap everything up. My wife, who "doesn't do installation" was gone for the day (two movies, shopping, lunch, hair appointment). Which meant that yours truly, who's not allowed within 10 miles of a design decision, didn't notice when the wrong hardware was installed on the drawers (knobs instead of handles) and the doors above the microwave and refrigerator (handles instead of knobs). sandman, yes, I hear you. Actually, the pursuit of the Chevy Spark is, like the pursuit of the Scion iA from the late spring of 2016, a labor of love from earlier. Honestly I don't know how the '17 Chevy Spark will drive just yet. Might just need ta score a test drive.

@iluvmysephia1 - I think the point many of us are trying to make is that "different" does not always equate to "better".

Much better than the "before" pics, @Michaell . The hardware issue is vexing. It would be better I think to have pulls on the drawers instead of those knobs. But that means the fronts all have to come off to fix the holes and respray. I would leave the upper cabinet pulls alone.

Last week I started shopping for some stuff for the renovated downstairs space. One of those things was a cheap TV/entertainment stand. I found what seemed to be a good choice at a good price at Walmart online, not available in stores. The order was painless and they promised it to arrive on Thursday. It actually came on Wednesday so that was good. On Friday I decided to assemble it. Opened up the box and there was no hardware at all, not even one screw or washer. I called the supplier as the instructions said and the lady on the other end said I was the second person this week with that same problem, both of us buying from Walmart. Not sure if that means anything or not. She said the hardware package would be shipped direct to me from a California branch of their operation. Cripes!
What a struggle. We had similar challenges when we did a partial refresh of our kitchen two years ago. I think we will move to a house that needs nothing next time. I like the look of your remodel.

Thanks, everyone. We wanted the same handles that you see on the doors to be on the drawers, as well. They'd have to order a new drawer fronts. I think we will just live with it. It's not the end of the world.
Wife is (reasonably) happy with the end result. Now, to put everything back - not my job, thankfully, as there is noise that things may go back in different places.
I'm leaving the house to run errands - I've got major cabin fever after this last week.
I like that garage/house, I would live there. Sadly, in my area it would cost 100% more, and as I am single without familial assistance, I can't swing an 800K mortgage

That house would go way more than $800k in your area unless you put it in Snohomish or down towards Federal Way.

Maybe make it sound like it's a big deal, try to pry something extra out of the contractor. "My wife finally agreed to live with the mistake you guys made but now she wants a new backsplash. I think you guys should pay for that since it's your fault." Something like that.
@michaell - make sure you and the wife are not only content, but happy with the handles. You may be dazzled by the overall effect right now, but after a while, you may find yourself wishing you had the original ones picked out.
my experience with those types of mistakes is that after a short time, you stop noticing. At least I do. Entirely possible that a wife would hold onto the pain and let it fester!
SDA, I was discussing SC with someone today. The people adopting our foster came down to meet him again and make sure they wanted him. thankfully he decided to make friends and suck them in finally, so they signed the papers and paid the fee. But, they are going on vacation in a few days for a week, so we are babysitting until the 18th.
anyway, to get to the point (sorry Driver!), we asked where they were going, and seems they now have a 2nd house in SC, and are going down to do work on it. I heard the name of the town (starts with W) but can't remember it. 60 miles from Georgia border, and 1/2 hour from Clemson I think. Probably an extremely pretty area, but I suspect a whole lotta nuttin out there. Might be Walhalla. someplace near there.
