I'm not a lawyer, but the dealership certainly isn't required to serve anyone, as long as they aren't doing it for reasons proscribed by discrimination statutes.

So, type up whatever you want, then find another dealer. ;)

Nobody is going to have a waiver to have the dealer sign before they bring the car in (well, I can think of 1 person). No dealer in their right mind would sign off on such a waiver either.

The Car Fax is the killer in this case. It says the car was involved in a collision with frame damage.

Waiver or not, they should not have charged their customers’ insurance to repair an accident they caused. It’s bad customer service.

I agree. They obviously don't care. That's the entire point of my rant.

Sue em hard. Make it personal. At least get real $ costs covered.

A dealership is easy. If they want to argue that DV isn’t real, tell them to take it in trade at full book for a clean, non hit, car.

I must have missed the original post. What was the crux of it.... they took a vehicle in for service, then the technicians wrecked it while in the dealership's possession?

But, IIRC, it was a "test run" when it was not even in for something that would not require driving the car, wasn't it?

Yes. He brought his Outback in for a recall that involved the Navigation unit & his passenger side heated seat wasn't working.

New York car guy what a shame what’s going on with your in-laws and the Subaru dealer at first I was
  • tbirdmarcotbirdmarco Member Posts: 3,838
Figuring out all that went on but now I remember from reading the postings about how to refresh my memory Sue Sue Sue for the money that your in-laws are old and find another Subaru dealer after that
  • tbirdmarcotbirdmarco Member Posts: 3,838
Wow bro do you have to switch it up today and drive the wife’s car awesome going to go this weekend and look at those Beamers you posted above and maybe have one in the driveway this weekend and get rid of the type are ha ha Ha

Have to see what’s going on with mom and the GMC terrene the numbers aren’t 100% working out in her favor turns out so we shall see what’s gonna happen

You have to minimize that capitalized cost! Negotiating the lowest purchase price that you can on a vehicle with the highest residual value is going to net you the best movement on that (along with not paying a bunch of additional fees).

Agreed it’s West 100% but when it comes to my mom she’s not a car person I think I’m really the only one in my family my older brother a little bit more me more than anything it’s like talking to a wall with this stuff with my mom I told her since she has a couple of months left on her lease not to do anything now I think she starting to see all the information I’m showing her is what I said from when she talked about this last week I said wait till least me since the lease is up in June and you’ll be fine might be up in July not sure but then she have to wait the beginning of June then
  • tbirdmarcotbirdmarco Member Posts: 3,838
I think I might’ve finally tonight convince my mom to wait a few more months not a big deal at all ha ha
  • tbirdmarcotbirdmarco Member Posts: 3,838
So it’s definite my mom‘s gonna hold off till least sometime in May and then will take this GMC terrain lease under consideration again well having to deal with a couple of payments thrown into the new lease should help tremendously I’m glad she understands why one coming from all along and I don’t wanted to get a Nother Nissan switch it up so we’ll see what happens a couple of months will go fast
  • tbirdmarcotbirdmarco Member Posts: 3,838
And I’m gonna convince her to do a few test tribes since we have time that’s all just test drives at the bologna they try to make you do a lot of these dealers let’s sit down and talk no just testerone

That's pretty much my car's twin.  The interior is as black as the Ace of Spades.  Although I haven't hit 25K miles yet.  I am in the 23K mile range.  For about the price of a new Civic LX it is hard to beat.

It's very fast for a pedestrian car.  The laws of physics dictate that you can only go as fast as the car in front of you.  The other night on my way home from work, I was in the left lane of I95 in NY (Westchester County) traveling at about 70 mph.  There was a car in front of me and 2 others next to it in the center & right lanes.  An Audi S5 came zooming up next to me and cut in front of me a few feet from my bumper.  I backed off and gave myself some breathing room and watched as he tailgated and played frogger while traveling north.

I'm always game to follow a lead blocker.  No sooner than I check my mirrors to mKe sure it is safe to move over, that I see the outline of Audi Q5 Headlights approaching very fast behind me.

I dropped the hammer and made a few moves to for the open road.  He was always a step or 2 behind me.  He even drove on the shoulder to pass someone.  When I decided that I had had enough excitement for one evening, I slowed down.  As he did the "looser fly by," I noticed 2 things:  The 4 tailpipes sticking out of the back indicating that I had just given an SQ5 a run for its money and the vanity plate (NY BMWCCA) that read M3 BFF.

I still say the biggest [non-permissible content removed] are the ones that put a RS badge making the Q5 look like a RSQ5, but then forget to remove the 2.0T emblem.

All too common with Mercedes and BMW owners, too. M and AMG badges where they obviously don't belong.

MB was really afflicted by fake badging in the first decade of this century - I have seen many W220 S-class and CLKs of the era with "AMG" badges - not AMG cars, of course. I've even read that some less than respectable dealers added badges. BMW seems to have suffered the most from fake "M" syndrome after 2010 or so. Haven't really seen it on Audi, but given the demographic, it is no doubt out there.

After testing out a couple m235i's, that by far is the most likely candidate for my next fun car, but I am still drawn to these:

    2017 Miata RF

Pricing seems attractive for a lightly used Grand Touring model.

I'd take the turbo charged BMW I6 over the (lightweight and tossable) 155 I4. Not to mention, that Miata is tight for me (5'10" 160 lbs).

Yeah - I'm with you. As attractive as I find the Miata, I've owned one before, and the limitations on its use are very restrictive. Even though the BMW's rear seats are tight, at least it has them in a pinch. And the Miata's tight confines do indeed wear on the driver and passenger. I just know I'd trade out of the Miata before long.

    Oh...wait a minute...I do that anyway. :)

oh man, I really love this one. rare beast. But fun. ton of work done (seller is going to take a bath it seems). too bad about the typical bad angle gear, but at this price, even needing to fix that you won't be too bad off. Or, just unhook the rear shaft and run FWD! And Driver, on this car, not dangerous.
