Maybe try posting over on Swedespeed?  See if you get any interest at 38-39k between now and Thursday?

I still think BaT goofed on this one. if an Econoline brings 32K, this had to do well!

I think they don't want the site to become a modern used car lot, is the problem.

that I understand. But that car is still pretty rare, and enthusiast focused. I didn't really look that closely to see how many newer units they include.

I do have it listed over at the classifieds on Swedespeed.  I’ve exchanged a couple posts with one individual, but not much legitimate interest.

On the subject of trip computers, mine have tended to run slightly high. The one I paid the most attention to was the one in the Passat TDI. I actually achieved 50 mpg on a few trips with that car, which totally amazed me. Hand calculations showed the trip computer to be optimistic, but only by 4 or 5%.

My present 2018 F150 is actually the worst one I have seen in recent years. Consistently 10 to 12% high. Combine that with the wonky Navigation, and I have my doubts about "Sync 3".

Maybe BaT is on to something we don’t know. Still upsetting (to me) that it would end up on a used car lot.

RB should skip the plain old Wrangler. and get one of these instead. If you really want to handle the snow and off road, here you go:

if that is a bit too much for running down to the piggly wiggly, and you want to go a bit faster, this one should do the job (490 HP should keep up with traffic):

We haven't tried Carmax, but I can't imagine they'd be the ones to pony up any more for something like the Polestar.

Only one on any block. Sad no moonroof though! And already needs a couple grand for sorting broken stuff. Lots of miles on it. Might be a money pit soon, but probably fun to drive. Really curious where this ends up.

We have an appointment tomorrow at noon to check out the Macan retired service loaner.

Earlier today, the broker who I've done business with e-mailed us with this new arrival:

    2017 Macan S w/16k miles
Equipped the same as the loaners we're considering, but with larger 20" wheels.
    Asking $54,900.

So, let's say we can talk them down a grand or two, and it's right in the ballpark of the service loaner.

I can certainly guess where this group would lean, but...

    2018 Macan w/6k miles
Choice of Sapphire Blue over Black or Night Blue over Beige
Not previously titled, so full warranty ahead of us

    Or this 2017 Macan S w/16k miles
    White over Beige
Originally sold almost 2 years ago, so 2 years of warranty left

My wife doesn't care so much about the increased power herself, but she does recognize that the 6 cylinder is more highly regarded and may lead to better resale.

Honestly, the biggest sticking point is she doesn't care all that much for the white. She flat out said if the 2017 S was the same color combination as the service loaner, she'd be all over it.

We'll see what her gut tells her tomorrow when she sees and drives the service loaners.

@qbrozen - how does that listed price for the 2017 Macan S strike you at $54,900?

As a recap, it has 16k miles, white over beige with the following notable options:

    Premium Plus Package
    20" Wheel upgrade
    Lane Assist
    Porsche Connect Plus
    Navigation

They had the window sticker, which totaled about $68k.

For comparison, the 2018 base models we're looking at are similarly equipped with stickers of about $63k, and they're saying about $52,500 sale price (with about 6k of service loaner miles).

Does one or the other seem like a outright better buy?

That white one looks sharp. Maybe $49-50k. For me, aside from the looks, I’d rather not have the 20’s.

Typical $4k markup. So get them down $1500 for a decent deal. How does this broker feel about your wagon?

low mileage 2018 4-cyls are selling for $5k less than 2017 S models with twice the mileage.

Hmm - so certainly not an obscene markup, and considering they just brought it in, I could imagine there's at least a $1-$1,500 discount to be had.

Problem is, my wife would take almost any other color than white. I'm with @nyccarguy - I actually like the white and it would be one of my top choices. And she'd be up for it if it had a black interior - the white over beige just really doesn't do it for her.

But for better or worse, that data from @qbrozen above (low mileage 2018 4 cyls are selling for $5k less than 2017 S model with twice the mileage)...that tells us what we already suspected - the S model is probably the way to go.

And I may have a buyer for the Polestar. There's a fellow from Florida who I've been speaking with - his wife has an XC90 and he has a V90 (not the XC), and he would love to add the Polestar to his fleet.

We've agreed on pricing, and he's checking into shipping costs today...all of which is certainly positive, but he could back off at anytime, so we'll see.

Which leaves the Golf R as the last part of the consolidation - certainly never thought it'd be that quick of a turnaround, but with this Macan coming into play, and the addition of the Miata...

I'm getting trade quotes on it, so if anyone sincerely has interest in it, speak up.

I'm responding to this while waiting in the parking lot for son's football practice to end, and the stereo just restarted itself with the car running. Before that, I sat in the car with it off for the past 90 mins or so. I went to start it up and it said "key fob not detected." hmmm... yeah, its right here in my pocket. I pulled it out, pushed the unlock button to tell the car "you are an idiot," and then it let me start it.

Q- what does the last part of your VIN start with?  For instance mine ends in B70XXX.

There is an infotainment firmware update. It might be worth looking into.

I am sure now that I’ve said my car is fine it won’t start.
