I did NOT see that coming! Congrats!

OK - Now we really need a Seattle cars and coffee meet up so I can see it. I'll bring the Viggen.

Sounds good, I'll bring the Kia.

Hahaha. Don't need to see the Kia - helped lease 3 for family and friends. I'm Souled out. I can bring the Stelvio or Viggen - figured the Viggen would be more unique?

That's a great color for the Tesla M3.

I have an 8 Plus now which I love, especially the wireless charging which goes so much faster on the Samsung Quick Charger I bought on OfferUp. Still trying to sell my 6s Plus with the new battery but this one guy is playing cat & mouse so will sell it to the next guy who wants it by end of next week. Usually go a two year cycle on mew smartphones but that might change now with the 8 Plus. But have heard the bigger changes come with the even years.Wear cargo shorts & pants for work for the extra pockets where I carry the phone and a charging cable just in case needed during the day.
Used to be a diehard android fan but once I tried the iPhone, I was hooked. And funny thing is back in 2013 after two weeks on the first driving gig, decided to get a new smartphone and ditch my old flip as I needed GPS. Asked the guy at Radio Shack which was the easier phone and he said android but he could've also said Apple. Now, if I had asked my kids, they would've told me get the iPhone 3 which was out then. And afterwards, that's exactly what they said!!

Nice! Is it a 2019? I think you’re the first CCB to get a Tesla, so you’ll get to be the guinea pig, kind of like qb and 28ff are with their Alfas.  ;)

And we have a punch: 2015 Acura RDX AWD with Technology... 39K miles, price was right on the mark which is surprising here in Louisville. Definitely bittersweet to trade the Volvo, but it was the right move for my money-managing left brain. May the RDX keep my CCB status in jeopardy!

Nice color on the Tesla, much better than the boring white and red ones that make up 90% of what I see on the road here. Good timing on the silly tax subsidy too, might as well use it while one can.

Had I been able to find a dark gray copy at the right age/mileage/location, that might have been preferable. Though it would have nearly matched the wife's Jetta (outside, she has the black interior).

Congrats to all the new vehicles folks! Am partial to blue and that's a great looking shade of blue!! I think electric is going to be the future for many of us down the road. The newer ones seem to have better range to make them fit in most people's lives. And charging from home makes it so much easier. Just think the government should give folks rebates, at least for now.
Was over at the VW store the other day getting an oil change and luckily, they found nothing wrong with it. Brakes were all within a decent range as were the tires. Need to get over to Tires Plus for my free rotation as the oil change didn't include that service, odd really as the 30K service did. I don't like to go out to 10K, so do mine around the 7.5K point, give or take, with the coupon I had, the price for a synthetic oil change was almost exactly the same. And will stop by any Tires Plus this week to have the tires rotated.

Got a question for Breld on his kids new 2019 Jetta since they got the one with the Beats audio. Is it really worth the extra $ to get the Performance Edition? As I recall, it also has 17" rims/tires which I prefer. Since VW no longer makes the Golf SEL, thinking a Jetta could work. How does it drive and is it worth it over the model that Stick got for his kid? Not thinking of buying right now, but the wife put the bug in my head when she questioned me about getting something new.

Well, I didn’t sit and listen to the base stereo vs the Beats, but I wasn’t very impressed with the base stereo in my daughters previous  Jetta, and knowing she loves her music, I didn’t hesitate to go with the SEL to get the Beats stereo.  And she does love it.

As far as the SEL vs the Sport model, it depends on how much you prioritize the few  extra features on the SEL versus the nicer cosmetic treatment on the Sport.  Personally, I like the the Sport model aesthetics, with the handsome 17” wheels and body kit, as well as the two tone seats.  But I knew my daughter cared less for those things, and valued the things on the SEL model, like the aforementioned Beats audio, virtual cockpit and ambient lighting.  I didn’t mind that the SEL comes with 16” wheels, as replacement tires are very inexpensive.

The nice thing is the Sport model comes with a nice suite of safety features.

@ronsteve - congrats on the RDX!

@tifighter - I wasn’t aware of the performance model of the Model 3.  Very interesting!  Must be a blast!  And good move pulling the trigger before the tax incentive is phased out - it’s a chunk of change!

Lol “replacement tires”.  Do you even change oil??

Your assessment is pretty common among “Sport” models.   They scale the options back a little to offset the cosmetic stuff.

I saw a new Jetta in white yesterday.  Good looking car.

  • stickguystickguy Member Posts: 53,536
the daughter picked the R line largely because she loves the 2 tone seats (having them in the previous sport). other than that, she would not really notice the other performance upgrads (bigger wheels and LSD). Mostly though, it was cheaper!

if I was getting one, for me, would probably go with the SEL.
