I don’t know that much about MOPAR cars to know.  The real ones are worth 7 figures, right?  It was in awfully good shape.  I have a customer at work who is a freakin MOPAR dictionary.  He will know RIGHT AWAY.

$94K... :s Wow, I had no idea a Q7 was in that price range.
  • stickguystickguy Member Posts: 53,689
now I am confused. what is the point of the Q8? It is actually 2" shorter than a Q7.

you can say you drive a Q8 and look down at those in lowly Q7s
  • breldbreld Member Posts: 6,956
Thanks for the pic @mjfloyd1.  I’m looking forward to putting the wheels on in the next month or so.

@stickguy - the Q8 is meant to be the sportier more exclusive version of the Q7.  No third row and sleeker body style.  Think X6 versus X5, but with less weirdness in the body.  The Q8 happens to have the turbocharged V6 versus the supercharged version in the Q7.

And good on ya' for doing that.

Having a '63 Split Window destroyed by some fool would be tragic enough, but a Superbird would be a far greater monetary loss. (perhaps 3Xs if it were a Hemi Bird).

This excerpt from Automobile’s review is the new Mazda3 makes me anxious for the arrival of the manual hatchbacks on dealer lots.

Last but not least is the manual transmission, and, oh, what a sweetheart it is. Mazda spends a lot of time sweating the way its cars feel, and it shows in the stick-shift 3. The clutch pedal has short travel, even take-up, and nice weight, and the shift lever seems to drop into each position as if propelled by unseen forces. Furthermore, the manual is yet another reminder of the pure sweetness of a big, naturally aspirated four: The pull is even and organic, and the impression one gets is that the driver can deploy each of the engine’s 186 horses as and where needed. Sure, we’re car-magazine writers and we’re genetically programmed to say every car is better with a manual transmission—but the Mazda 3 truly is even better with a manual.

The split window has a conflicted audience of Corvette admirers--some just love it to death, others turn up their noses. Go figure! I love that design myself.

GLI starting to appear at dealers. I’m curious to see what they do for 2020 options. I’d love the black wheels and roof on an Autobahn trim.

same. not that I have the money for something like a superbird, or other ultra rare expensive car. But if I did buy a classic, it would be to use on a somewhat regular basis. Which is also why it would probably be something more modern (70s or 80s, not the 50s).

Got the Pilot washed today.  The car wash in town I go to is directly next door to the Hyundai/Genesis dealer.  They had a few G70s in the car wash parking lot.  4 & 6 cylinders.  The few that I saw were very handsome.  They definitely got the styling right in my mind.

they just botched the dealer network, or I think they would have sold a lot more of them.

I got 2 cars washed today. The RDX was pretty bad so did that one. And the daughter was over visiting so I did her Jetta as a present to her. My car was the cleanest so will do it one day this week. It's nice that it was finally warm enough to do them. What was not nice was having to drag out the mower and clean that up (though nice that I dumped some gas in, and it fired right up on the first pull!) Already have bushy clumps of grass that need mowing.

I really should give up and hire someone. Just don't trust them to not rut up the yard when it is soggy (which is usually). Plus I am stubborn (about admitting I am getting old!). and of course, cheap. Besides, it's good exercise.

We had 3" of snow fall overnight, so very little got done outside today. The Jetta is pretty dirty, as it lives outside. I'll likely give it one really good cleaning later this spring or early summer, to prepare for the inevitable inspection before it goes back.

Looked at the GLI color palette - kind of depressing. No blue - just white, black, red, silver and the grey that was posted.

There was a black GLI at the dealership today.  I’m just not sold on the red trim on the wheels (35th Anniversary).

    Otherwise it looked great.

the daughter was leaning toward that gray but after seeing the white-silver really liked that better. I think it gives the car a much nicer look. The gray was just too "flat" IMO.

better than the last generation of Accord manuals. Besides black interior only, the only exterior color choices were black and gray.

  • ab348ab348 Member Posts: 20,409
The color choices inside and out are really the main negatives about the otherwise appealing GLI. I could live with a silver or white one with the black roof. The article describes the upholstery as being a black "neoprene fabric" which does not sound appealing, but I would have to see it in person before saying it would be unacceptable. It does not sound promising, though it is probably better than the burlap-like material some use. Oh, for the days of plush velour in actual colors...

Local Infiniti dealer advertising a used Stinger GT2 pkg: $37k.
Mazda has a nice red; my next car (unless I do another end of year beggars can't be choosers deal) I plan to be red or blue.
But, darn it, XF still puts a smile on my face every day!

I still kind of think I should have pulled the trigger on that “end of year” deal on the Stinger GT2 for $38K last year. But, like you, I enjoy my TLX way too much to make that change.
