@roadburner, That's a big walk back from your original post.
Seriously? I said I would rather have a CPO M2 that costs over $50k rather than that Mustang GT - whether it costs $52k or under $40k. And I suspect that even if I did buy that GT for $35k I'd soon be pulling a Breld and flipping it in under a year. You need to compare notes with my uncle; he's a retired Ford employee and he's been trying to tempt me with a Ford on A-Plan or X-Plan for years

That is an INSANE msrp. Good god. They have really increased the prices on those. I’m forgetting now what my purchase price was on the 2014. $24k, I believe.
Up here (at least last week) Ford was offering employee pricing on everything. I built a Mustang GT just for laffs and between that and various other incentives I could get $7K or a bit more off sticker, plus whatever the dealer might provide. Unfortunately about half the inventory here is painted black with black inside, and nothing locally in good colors.
Oh, and @stickguy - I saw that reveal of the refreshed G70 as well. I think it's the best execution of this new Genesis design language yet. And a 290 hp base engine along with the twin turbo 3.3T option is promising for the brand. Now they just need to get independent dealerships going.
That looks like a Mercedes CLK.

Alright - this is purely for fun...no intervention required.
But since my Supra seems to be retaining its value according to KBB, which indicates trade is a bit higher than what I paid...it's fun to think about what I could do for a reset.
That’s seem a pretty substantial price drop for 2,000 miles. I’d be wary.
I drove a 5.7Hemi Challenger on Monday and it was a dog. Certainly didn’t feel like 380 something horsepower. Only 17k miles but it must have hard miles.

You know what they say about what happens when you drive a new car off the lot...
As for the Challenger, those things are a barge. A slightly smaller barge, but still a barge.
Well, the YMB M3 turned out to be a non-starter; it had been neglected- which I kind of suspected since someone had stuck Chinese "high performance" tires on it.
What started my search was my wife's interest in the 50th Anniversary 370Z. While inexpensive, it's a bit too spartan for my tastes- although it's a decent drive, as the Brits say.
I looked at a couple of used Bullitt Mustangs, but it seems that every time I get behind the wheel of one I'm underwhelmed; I want to get excited about it but I just can't.
I really, REALLY liked the Giulia Ti Sport I drove- even though a 13.3 second quarter means it isn't all that fast. However, skimming the Giulia forums keeps my desire for that puppy at bay.
The Kia Stinger is still in the hunt; the Indigo Edition(AWD with Drift Mode) was a contender until I learned it had Michelin "Grand Touring" tires which lowered the top speed. The NCM at my local dealer offered to sell me a RWD GT2 for over $8k off MSRP, but I didn't like the color combo. If they get a Ceramic Silver with a red interior I may go for it; at least it isn't any slower than the 2er.
Hyundai G70- Nice, but nobody orders 3.3 Sports with RWD- just AWD for the timid/inept.
Supra? The local dealers still act as if the cars are hot sellers- they are delusional. It would have to be a 6 cylinder, and a CPO 2019 M2 Competition is too close in price.
I was all set to look at a CPO F-Type R in Cincy but it sold. I think it could be love at first drive if another one ever shows up.
The dealer that sold me the 2er has a CPO 2017 M3. Three pedals and nicely equipped in Alpinweiss/Sakhir. A bit more than I want to spend, however.
The CPO M2 Competition is still my favorite- with three pedals and no hole in the roof. The 2018 M2 is too close to my current 2er-a boosted N55 with almost the identical interior.

The Civic has a mechanical Limited Slip Differential, a 6th cog, modern technology, heated seats...
What I’m getting at is in regards to my Prelude. It might just be a good car to teach my son who will be 14 years old on the 23rd to drive when he turns 16. It’s a stick, has a bunch of dings & scratches. I know what has to be done to make it mechanically sound. I’ll get it fixed over the winter. Drive it a little here and there during the spring, summer, & fall next year...

the Si didn't quite work back when I looked last time (before getting the Elantra) but now it makes more sense. But, zero stock and the few used ones are listed for just as much as new sticker. so even if I find one, there won't be anything close to a deal to be had.
the new design Civic is supposed to be out somewhere in late spring. so maybe May?
possible there could be some sales on these around presidents day.

The Bullitt is appropriately priced.
I like driving my Charger. Not the most engaging I have owned, and not a sportscar by any means. But it is roomy and comfortable, beautiful, gets lots of looks and compliments, makes great noises, and can leave long rubber stripes on the road. It is simply a fun car that makes me feel like a goofy teenager.

@roadburner - I can imagine why you like the M2 Comp so much, but anything particularly negative about the base M2?
Too bad your local Toyota dealers are still treating the Supra as precious. I feel fortunate to have found one that immediately offered a test drive and then was quick to negotiate. Of course that was for a leftover 2020, but still. I’d be really curious as to your impression of the car.

The base M2 is a great car, but as I said that M2 is just too similar to my F22 M235i with respect to the interior and the overall driving experience. I know it’s subjective, but to me the M2 Competition feels more like a real M car- it has the more supportive M seats, two M preset buttons for the various steering and powertrain modes and a nicer looking instrument cluster. Then there’s the extra 40 hp, bigger brakes, and a retuned suspension. Finally, the M2 Competition is the only modern M car that is faster when equipped with a manual transmission.

Just for S&Gs, I plugged that gray Bolt into Vroom and Carvana. No response from Carvana, but Vroom hit it at $19.5k. OUCH! That's less than the projected residual on the lease 3 years from now!

I think I’ve moved on from that. I checked Rodo out of curiosity and it was more like $313/month nothing down. So not quite sure how it gets from there to roughly $190/month (both before the $5,000 state credit).
It just hit me that if I had leased the ATS instead of buying it, right now I'd be in the midst of a frenzied quest for my next vehicle. Not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing. Really nothing out there right now that I want badly enough to make a move.

Based on my experience, I would say it's a good thing you aren't being thrust into the market right now but of course make, model, and location play a role in how hard you have to grind it to get a deal so YMMV.

@nyccarguy - if you were break even, is there a move you’d like to make?
The broker has some very tempting prices on HEMI equipped RAM 1500s (with ONLY 5' 5" beds). For their lease price relative to MSRP and not much more than I'm paying for the Tacoma. Besides the short bed, the other downfall is that it would be a 36 month lease.
