Was gone cross country skiing over the holidays, so I finally got around to driving the Z4 for the first time in weeks yesterday. Fun, but I swear it is getting lower to the ground every time I drive it. It must be because I am getting taller, younger and better looking on every drive. Right?

Taller and younger, I might believe, but the rest is pure fancy. ;)

Which is what the wife would want. It is $43k, though. OUCH! That’s like 50% over the entry price.

Sure, but I'm willing to bet the resale values of those will be MUCH stronger. Could be a used Santa Fe Calligraphy will be a bargain. Time will tell.

this is to replace the X1, so another lease? If so, who cares! If buying probably won't be used ones in the near future. My experience looking was that there would only be a couple of Turbos in inventory with the vast majority being the base 2.4l engine.

I’d better dollars to donuts that a fully loaded Santa Fe leases for the same price (or more) as a modestly equipped X3 (considering BMW loyalty).

I never seriously looked at leases on these. The wife's car was always intended to be a purchase to keep long term (a plus for the Hyundai thanks to the warranty). I did monitor Rodo for a bit. They were not super cheap, but definitely lower than an X3!

That’s the problem with not being educated about leases. I know someone paying virtually the same amount for a Camry that I’m paying for the S60.

MSRP will scare people away without knowing the details.

Mid size SUVs as a rule don’t lease well. $500 a month loaded RAV4s happen more than you realize. Would we pay that? No, but people do.

Could be a lease, but those likely won't lease well, as others suggested. So could be buying used will be the lesser evil. We'll see. 11 mos left in the X2.

I checked. If we actually wanted out, we'd be in good shape. Buyout without tax is (I believe) $25,100. Offers are as follow:
    $24,455 vroom
    $24,125 carvana
    $25,016 carsense
    $25,100 ALgo

Unless I got a great deal on something she just couldn't pass up, no reason to jump ship for even money.

not if you need to buy a replacement.

I saw someone today I have not seen in a while. Last time I did was August 2019, and they had a new Telluride (one of the first around I think) that they raved about. I asked about it today (since they did not have it with them) and she said she got rid of it a few months back. Because she had moved to WFH and really did not need a large ($650?) monthly payment. So traded it in on an Optima. Probably did well on that holding it's value.

Honestly can’t remember the payment my buddy wound up with on his Telluride. I want to say mid 5s with driveoffs. Definitely not good for the vehicle class, but good for that vehicle at that time.

Not sure what it was. I assumed purchase. But, I would believe the lease payment. I think it was a loaded up model, so not cheap, and this was when they first came out and were in very short supply and really popular.

It was a prior gen Optima, not a K5. Pretty red though!

Audi was fixed today, some kind of oil sensor all the way back. Cost just over $600 at my indie guy and his per hour price is less than Audi charges. Maybe this will also stop the light that shows up every so often when it's down a bit on oil. First real issue in 6 years and 60K miles so, can't complain too much. It's been flawless up to now but, if things start going south going forward, it's days will be numbered from what she said. And next time, doubt she'll go Audi again and thinking it'll either be Hyundai or Kia as she also likes the longer warranty.
New insurance bill came in today but naturally, they left off the senior driving class discount. Once I saw the increase, I knew right away that discount was left out...and right I was! It's supposed to drop the price by 10% which would be just what it should be. I took out last years policy and saw it listed there so just an error. I'll call our insurance guy tomorrow so they can include it and send out a new set of prices/deduction. Since we pay it yearly, I want it right the first time. The once a year thing is so much easier than every 6 months...pay it in one shot, and we're done.

Very rare bodystyle. DeMuro owns one, so the monied cult might be into it, too. I think they look just a little off, like a Barbie G-Wagen or something. Still, if someone gave me one. I think this was a 40-50K rig just a couple years ago.

Regardless of rarity on that Benz Samurai, it has 150k miles on the run-of-the-mill V6. If it was low miles, I could see some money there, but ... no ... just does not add up to me no matter what. I've seen nicer Euro G-wagons for less on these auction sites.
