Using Autotrader advanced search feature I just completed my annual search of vehicles for sale in the entire country on that platform with over 200,000 miles. The search showed around 19,000 vehicles. I then broke down the result by make. Most were trucks and SUVs especially among domestic brands. Here is what I found:
It is obvious that for whatever reason certain makes are still marketable at those miles. Maybe those are easier and less expensive to fix, or are generally more reliable (most probable), or maybe some vehicles are not worth keeping on the road because of low resale. Or maybe some are too expensive to maintain at that mileage.
If the results are separated into 3 categories of Euro, Domestic and Asian brands as a percentage the results are::
Asian: 34% Domestic: 64% Euro: 2% (this must mean something)

I like that style Volvo. and the 2 tone seats.
that one had a hard life. Though the description of the fatal accident (3rd of 3) did not sound like something that would lead to a total (who totals their car backing into a parked car?) with only moderate damage reported. Wonder if it being in the middle of Covid times (parts, etc.) had anything to do with it? But at this point probably the only original paint is on the roof!
I thought that, too, but figure it was probably a matter of the value from the past incidents and/or there was still unrepaired damage from before. Add it all up and it wasn’t worth it.

At least the Torch Red on that Corvette is a proper sporty-car red. Yesterday a few of us were looking at the delivery day line webcams from the Bowling Green plant and a bunch of them were in a metallic red paint that to my eye looked rather washed-out in the pics.
Met up with @breld for breakfast this morning (where he posted the pix of the wifes' new Bronco), and decided to hit the local Genesis lot afterward.
Found a GV70 available, so we took it for a test drive. 2.5T, Select package, Cardiff Green over black pleather.
I had my heart set on the 3.5T (375 HP), but it turns out the 300HP in the 2.5T is more than enough. We were able to take a long-ish test drive that included interstate, some back roads and some city driving. @breld was able to switch between Comfort and Sport modes and the car was quite responsive in both. Plenty of room for my XXL-sized body, and the seats were comfortable (heated and ventilated seats available with the Select package). Pano sunroof available, and the tech was pretty nice - before we left, the salesman used the voice controls to lower the passenger window.
I did struggle with the lane watch and lane keep nannies, but I'm sure they can be defeated.
Once I got comfortable in the front seat, I found not a lot of legroom in the back seat (not that it matters, usually only 1 or 2 of us in the car). Plenty of shoulder room - for some reason, this is something I notice in a lot of cars, specifically the X3 M40i I drove a couple of weeks ago.
Overall a really nice package, and priced at $47K as equipped, a pretty great deal compared to the 4-cyl versions of the X3, Q5 or GLC.
The next pic I got from my wife on her trip was one of her and my son at a pizza joint near his college in Naperville, IL.
Don’t know if she had planned that, but I certainly wasn’t in on it, and my son was pleasantly surprised with the visit from his stepmom. That’s a great woman, I have to say.
I was VERY impressed with that GV70 that @michaell drove. I remember this from my test drives of the GV80…the base 4 cylinder beats out the base engines in the X3/GLE/Q5, IMO. Get to the turbo 6 cylinders and I imagine it’s a different story, but at 300 hp, Genesis has a great entry level engine in its SUVs.
The ride and comfort is spot on for a luxury vehicle. And the design, both exterior and interior, really stands out from the crowd. At $47k for this mid-level trim, it’s a great package.

Found a GV70 available, so we took it for a test drive. 2.5T, Select package, Cardiff Green over black pleather.

Your buddy excursions reminded me of the time I went with my buddy to look at a used Mustang. For some reason the salesman acted like we were a couple.
Have you ever had any questions along those lines?

@breld - congrats on the punch. Makes me glad I picked Cactus Grey for the Maverick. I also think it may clash a bit with the silver steel wheels on the Maverick XL, so I might try to paint or plasti-dip them in black.
I saw my first Bronco Sport on the road today. A 4 door, in that Area 51 color. I drove right next to it for several blocks, in town, at a fairly slow speed so I got a good look. Two impressions, it's smaller than I imagined it would be from the pictures. And that color would take a bit of getting used to.
the sport is basically a squared off Escape. I think that design tends to look bigger in pictures. Though the big Bronco looks much bigger in person, so maybe I have that backward!

I’m sure it’s nice. But, do yourself a favor and drive the V6 Turbo and tell us what you think in comparison. That’s just a really sweetheart of an engine.

I’ll have to find one, first. The price delta is approximately $10k.
On that note, the local MB dealer has a whopping 9 new vehicles in stock right now (notice I didn't say cars): 4 GLE (one a GLE53 "coupe" with a 104K MSRP - waiting for an overmonied Californicator invader I suppose), 3 GLC, a GLB, and a Sprinter. Nothing else new.
