Been doing some serious research on various EV / PHEV models; actually got the wife and stepdaughter to engage and offer opinions on what they like / dislike.
We'll see where this takes us. Good to have @breld and @jpp75 available, as they are more knowledgeable than YHS on these things.
After some serious thought I didn't jump on the 4xe train but the Grand Cherokee 4xe is on the short list to replace the Acura in 16 months. Possibly before if the terms are favorable and Acura makes a strong buyout offer, pretty sure AFS is still restricting 3rd party sales.

From what I have seen, the GC 4xe terms are terrible.

This is true. We're not in need now anyway, the only vehicle likely to leave the fleet soon is the Prelude.

My 2nd son had his Bar Mitzvah on Saturday. I turned 46 yesterday.
Congrats and you have a good looking family too.
Coincidentally, I went to a Bat Mitzvah on Saturday morning. Started with a get together for diner for selected family and friends before the Friday night service. Then a brunch following the service on Saturday morning, then a reception party on Saturday night, then a brunch on Sunday morning.
A really nice weekend but, wow, I don’t even want to think about what that cost. When did it turn into this? I remember years ago it was the service on Saturday morning then a reception on Saturday night. Talk about how times have changed. Yoy or should I say Oy Vey.
Congrats again.

I wonder if the author of that Mazer ad and Laurasdada were in the same creative writing class? Their writing styles seem similar to me. The car does have CT plates, so it is possible.

Why?
Not my reasons obviously but convenience mostly, and upkeep as well. The latter stemmed from a full refresh of the front suspension, struts, springs, tie rod ends, control arms, bushings...everything. Once I explained even only getting driven 1,000-1,500 miles per year, parts eventually wear out that was less of an issue.
The former was more suggestive but it's clear there's a preference about having a sedan or hatch in the fold vs. two coupes. Since it wasn't a matter of reducing the fleet, I've been browsing.

Mazel tov! Remember when I had mine in 1967, only half a Haftorah as I'm a twin so he got half also. Oneg shabbat the night before, ceremony at 5:30 p m in Tarrytown New York then the party in Croton at some party place there...the Colonial Terrace as I recall now. A fun filled, nerve racking weekend but hey, it was finally done. Bought my first car cashing out a whole mess load of savings bonds I got as gifts besides the Cross pen and Spiedel bracelets popular back then. A great way for the folks to invite a lot of their friends & business associates as I met folks I'd never seen before. Now, just one more to go with your daughter.

Perhaps that writer is also a proud graduate of UConn, where I are did no formality writable training. Where, however, I did my best writing; multiple letters of apology. A skill that continues to serve me to this day.
And, I would never trust an old, used Italian car. An old, used British car? Sure, why not? What, me worry? Faithfully submitted, this date,

Brake pedal very low in the Golf, had the brake fluid replaced last year. No noticeable noises or nothing like that, just that the pedal is super low. Having the guy check it out next Monday as I just do not feel secure driving it right now. I like my pedal to grab somewhat early and have never had one go as low to the floor as I'm experiencing now so just to be sure, letting him check things out. Bottom line, I want, need the pedal to not go so low before it stops my vehicle. Original brakes all around at almost 70,400 on the clock.

@roadburner - I was dropping off the ZHP to get a leaky PS reservoir and hose replaced today and saw a red 318ti Club Sport parked off to the side; from the angle I couldn't tell if it was a slicktop or not, but I'm assuming not.

I'm not a fan of the yoke steering wheels I've seen. They seem a bit too "pointy" for safety purposes, especially in a situation where the airbag deploys and then there is a secondary impact.
dangit. I want to get this. Still don't have much of a clue what I'm doing, though. Lots of websites about this process and all leave much to be desired.

Buying a 25 y-o Alfa sight unseen from Japan, what could possibly go wrong?
FWIW, there were a couple of those (maybe even 3) on a somewhat dubious-looking used car lot locally that is across the street from the Autoport site where car carriers from Europe and Japan offload here. I think one of them was a Spider model. This was about 3 years ago. I actually saw one of them on the road a short time later. I figure that was a pretty rare sighting.
