    @qbrozen,
You really think anyone would know that? It's not like it has a fanatical following.
Another suggestion. Take it to a carwash with the underneath spray.
Anyways, I hope you get a great price for it.

Thanks. Underside looks great. I'm not worried about it. Wish I could go to a carwash and have them ONLY do the underside. Don't need those brushes swirling my finish. ;b

well, guess what I would also love to have! That is a hot rod version though, and has suspension, seats, etc.

though if Ford made a Maverick ST I think it would be very popular. They should do that, right after they figure out how to make enough Mavericks in the first place.

a few people have hot rodded theirs into almost that level. One had a video on MTC of his doing some dragy pulls. 1/4 miles was about 13.24@104, and 0-60 was in the 4.8 range.

There were rumors of a PHEV, but I think that would, at a minimum, eliminate the cargo bins under the rear seat, and possibly also reduce the fuel tank lower than the 13.8 gallon capacity of the hybrid.

Ordered the Smartliner all weather floor trays today... People say they are as good as the Weathertechs which are about 50% more expensive.

my son told me that it was officially winter because he saw the first brine truck of the season.

that just means I will stay off the highway until it rains enough to wash it off.

strange day. I did the final mow of the season to get the grass nice and short, and when I put the mower back in the shed, I had to take the snow shovel out! 3-4 inches will be removed quickly, and will all be melted off in a day or so.

I am thinking maybe I should have invested in snow tires for the RDX just in case. Not sure if my plan to never drive when it is salty is going to work up here. also need to pick which car to abuse, because only one will get salty. that will be the one that is likely to be the shortest lived with us. should just salt the Maverick in case that gets traded next year! though that is the one with FWD only, and even worse, no heated seats!

I'm sure I said this before, but I unsuccessfully looked for a 1994-95 Accord EX as my first car in 1998. There were just none on the used car lots, but a handful of LX trim models... I wanted VTEC! And I didn't care for the styling refresh they did in 1996.
  • henrynhenryn Member Posts: 4,289
Some of this information is specific to Houston, but some is more general.

Nationwide auto sales were 9.6 percent higher in September than the same month in 2021, according to the National Automobile Dealers Association. The association hasn't yet released October sales data.

The average price of a car also is down, falling to $51,500 last month from about $52,200 in September, though the average price is still about $2,700 more than in October 2021. For trucks and SUVs, prices have been slower to drop. The average price of a truck or SUV fell just $100 in October compared with September, and is more than $3,000 more costly than in October 2021.

Since the beginning of the COVID pandemic, auto dealers have struggled to maintain inventory as a global microchip shortage hampered production. Low inventory and rising material costs pushed up the prices of both new and used cars. Now, as the shortage improves, manufacturers are faced with new production issues brought on by the pandemic and by the shortage of workers in the U.S.

"We're seeing issues in non-chip suppliers," John Lawler, Ford's CFO, said in an earnings call in late October. "It has to do with the tight labor market, but ... we're finding with many of the suppliers during the COVID timeframe had not invested in maintenance or in their facilities and tooling, and so they're not able to ramp up as we expected."

Dealers are still struggling to keep inventory on their lots. Late last month, Houston-based Group 1 Automotive said its inventory was less than a third of what it usually is but still higher than it was a year ago. One of its largest Toyota dealerships was down from an 1,000 vehicle inventory in normal times to just seven new vehicles on the lot.

My sister's 1st car was a '95 Accord EX Coupe Automatic. It got stolen from the campus parking lot in Hartford, CT. The police found the car. More parts were stripped while it was in the police impound lot. I remember my Dad fighting with the insurance company (GEICO I believe) to total it. They wanted to replace all the parts that were stolen (and there were A LOT) with non OEM parts. When my Dad asked why, they said that the OEM parts are expensive and that's why they use aftermarket parts where they can. My dad said: That's why the car was stolen & stripped in the 1st place! Because the damn OEM parts are expensive! After a lot of back and forth, my Dad finally got an adjuster with a heart. He told the adjuster to go look at the car on the lot at the Honda dealer and asked if it was the adjuster's daughter's car, would the adjuster fix it. The adjuster went and looked at the car. Totaled it the next day.

I suspect the new models were slightly higher - maybe $18-19K?

Picked up the Alto Works today. Still learning. Thought I'd be in and out of there and home by 1pm. Nothing but paperwork roadblocks. Didn't get home till 5. I'm exhausted.
And I'm disappointed. Went back and checked the auction and it is my bad. The sheet does indeed point out it needs repainting on most surfaces. The person who sent the English translation left that out, however. This one is going to take some thought. I'll probably lose money on it.

Cars and Bids is really stretching the criteria these days. This IMO does not belong there. But interesting to see one in real world bidding. Up to about $4,200 more than sticker (before any auction fee). I think you can find some from a dealer at a lower markup now. I could have some good equity if my Hybrid ever actually shows up! I wonder what my ecoboost Lariat would fetch?

    https://carsandbids.com/auctions/rGN6Z7Q2/2022-ford-maverick-xlt

this is interesting. My wife gave me the OK (well, the "you are going to do what you want anyway") to get a convertible for cruising around the back country roads. Just not sure she was expecting something like this! Nice version, with a more rational engine (a 351 smallblock instead of a crazy HP 427 big block).

risks of the business I guess. At least if you pay by the S.F., it will be really cheap to paint! Or wrap it.

I think this is a neat car. 5 speed I assume? If it had the steering wheel where it belonged could be fun toy. and would definitely fit in my garage!
