    Picked up the Alto Works today. Still learning. Thought I'd be in and out of there and home by 1pm. Nothing but paperwork roadblocks. Didn't get home till 5. I'm exhausted.
    And I'm disappointed. Went back and checked the auction and it is my bad. The sheet does indeed point out it needs repainting on most surfaces. The person who sent the English translation left that out, however. This one is going to take some thought. I'll probably lose money on it.

    risks of the business I guess. At least if you pay by the S.F., it will be really cheap to paint! Or wrap it.

    I think this is a neat car. 5 speed I assume? If it had the steering wheel where it belonged could be fun toy. and would definitely fit in my garage!
    yes, it is a stick. A very very loose stick and extremely touchy clutch. Gonna have to see if I can adjust it so it at least doesn't grab 1 inch off the floor. Gotta wonder why the stick is so floppy with just 40k'ish miles. Maybe it came that way. I have no way of knowing.

    Cars and Bids is really stretching the criteria these days. This IMO does not belong there. But interesting to see one in real world bidding. Up to about $4,200 more than sticker (before any auction fee). I think you can find some from a dealer at a lower markup now. I could have some good equity if my Hybrid ever actually shows up! I wonder what my ecoboost Lariat would fetch?

    this is interesting. My wife gave me the OK (well, the "you are going to do what you want anyway") to get a convertible for cruising around the back country roads. Just not sure she was expecting something like this! Nice version, with a more rational engine (a 351 smallblock instead of a crazy HP 427 big block).

    Aside from you probably not fitting, I think you should get it! :D

    We were lucky to get 11mpg from dad’s 76 GMC Sierra 15 full time 4wd. It was a long bed, nothing fancy, no a/c, only ps, pb, auto, 350 4bbl. Your Ram is a luxury truck, so refined, powerful, wonderful to drive and gets so much better mpg than trucks before it. The GMC was a good truck, kind of fun to drive, not quick, noisy, rough ride and clumsy handling.

    Yeah I’m not complaining, I knew what I was getting into. Also for the trip I averaged 68 MPH with some city driving on either end. I’m sure the sustained 80+ did not do any favors.

    I really love the truck. I’ve actually been driving it a lot the last few weeks and just can’t seem to find a flaw.

    @tjc78,

    You don't have many miles on your truck yet and we are probably using winter blend gas.

    I have owned 3 Ford F150 pickups with the ecoboost engine, and I recorded every tank of gas. Not once did I ever fall under 18. For a highway trip, with some city driving, I usually recorded 23 or 24 mpg. Yes, I know many people report poorer mpg with the ecoboost engine, I can only assume they are driving much more aggressively than I am. Not that I am a slow driver, you will usually find me driving above the speed limit, but I don't do "drag race" starts like I did when I was younger.

    My older 2013 F150, with the Coyote V8, is doing around 15 to 16, pretty steady in that range, highway or city.

    Once upon a time, in a land far away, I had an 1999 F250 with the big block 460 cid gas engine, and towed a 10,000 lb 5th wheel travel trailer. That truck averaged 11 or 12 mpg unloaded, and 8 or 9 mpg towing the 5th wheel. I remember one trip, with a strong head wind, came in at 7 mpg.

    And speaking of drag race starts, I remember one freeway entrance where you had no choice. There was a red light that would stop you immediately before the entrance ramp, the ramp was short, fairly steep uphill, and there was no merge lane once you got up to the freeway. Traffic on the freeway was usually heavy and moving at 60 or 70 mph. I always wished I had my 69 Charger 440 back whenever I had to attempt that death defying feat.

    The biggest adjustment by far has been having to use the fob to unlock the doors. Most of the options on my Tundra were things like the sport appearance package, the running boards (which you need on something that big but not the Mav), factory navigation (which I didn't really use), etc... Basically things you don't really notice or use on a daily basis. And LED headlights, which the Maverick has.

    How does that settle out economically? When I quit my corporate job to become a farmer the finances were shaky and I worried for a long time if I would be able to feed my family.

    I (even more so my wife) reached that point where you are pretty well done with it all. and of a milestone age (the big one this year) where people do retire. but at least a few years before we probably really should consider it. but if I told her I reran the numbers and she can quit now if she wants, I don't think she would think about it too long! Though she gets annual bonus, so no quitting before March. though last time we discussed I pointed out that she might as well wait until labor day, because sept-Dec is her busy time, so why quit during the slow period?
