Wow, I hope I never get to the point where buying a gallon of coolant tires me out to the point where I have to take a nap.
OK, but what if you also spent a few hours wrangling Edmunds forum members? It's only 6:30am here, and I already need a nap.

I know the 2nd generation Tacomas have a cult following. Is this a case of market correct pricing or "nobody wants a stick/RARE 6-SPEED?" The truck is 12 years old. The guy hit a deer with it, probably on the Palisades Parkway up north. Check out the rust on the trailer hitch. I can only imagine what the rest of the frame looks like.

I “modded” the WRX today. Swapped out for WRX all weather mats and installed the center armrest extension. @breld wasn't kidding about the latter, it is comically easy to install. Only thing left is I bought an STI shift knob off marketplace that should be here this weekend.
@kyfdx - I thought nearly all modern coolant was compatible with all manufacturers.
Absolutely not... Porsche coolant is PINK!
I ordered this off Amazon and had it within a day to top off my coolant to get it above that minimum setting.
I mixed it with some distilled water, found the correct cap under the rear cover, and filled it up all by myself! Not trying to brag or anything as to my mechanical skills.
After identifying the one small leak a couple weeks back in my garage, I've seen no more evidence of leaking, but nevertheless have an appointment next week at the Porsche dealer. I'm a little nervous of what comes from that...if it's a water pump issue that should be covered by Porsche, but not sure what else comes up at 24k miles on a 911.

Most of those gallon jugs of aftermarket coolant are already pre-mixed. Something to watch for.
I thought about it, but thinking I'd only ever need a quart, drove out to the dealer.

Is that the generation where Toyota replaced the frames for free? If so it might not be in such bad shape. Also it seems to have spent most of its life in the lower Hudson Valley which may mean it didn’t spend as much time on salted roads than it would in far upstate or Vermont.
While I realize that Toyota has a certain cache’ and it’s 4WD, compare that to a one year newer F-150 with 1/4 the mileage for $14k. Small trucks are way too pricey these days IMO.

Is there a listing of this somewhere that we can check out? Once again, I’m confused.

I love flying in and out of PIT on Alaska. We usually fly on miles, but the pricing is quite reasonable (for 2024) and the mileage tickets usually have good availability (as opposed to demand destinations like Mexico or Hawai'i).

Drove a newer Kia Sorrento today and found it very nice. Acceleration was quite adequate and really liked the way it drove. Of course, too big for our purposes but Kia is making some very nice offerings of late. Hyundai is also as evidenced by the newer Tucson I drove on Sunday. Still haven't driven the new 2024 Kona but we do have more and more in the fleet now so, my day will be coming. Did finally drive the wife's 2023 around the block and did like the way it drove. I could live with one very easily I guess but even though the pre-owned one I was interested in a few weeks back could've worked, decided I'd rather go new when the time comes. My next vehicle could be my last so, gonna make sure I get what I really want. Still want to test drive a new Mini Cooper even though I hate that they have that center mounted speedo/infotainment system as it just feels awkward to me to not have the speedo straight ahead of me. And their pricing is really a bit high for such a small vehicle. But, still want to test drive one just to be 100% sure it's not right for me.

Off until Saturday! Turn 70 on Friday and don't want to work...usually take that day off as a personal day. Not sure what I'll do but working ain't gonna happen. Was thinking of all the years I worked and between my postal years and my rental car years, up to 42 right now. Not sure how many more I'll do at Enterprise, but my new schedule is much easier on my body...and the change was long overdue! Just having the easier ingress/egress with the minivan has helped so much in keeping my spinal pain at a tolerable level. And the two shorter weekend days are just great. Sure, I'm going to miss out on some extra weekend hours but am not there for the $ to be honest, so not an issue. And having Mondays and Wednesdays/Thursdays off is so much easier for me getting personal stuff done. My timing was finally right here, a good thing. And working with all new folks is a nice change to...have found that getting to personal with co-workers isn't the best idea. Best to keep certain things to ones self!

Good to know, I naturally assumed as the only non-stop option it would be priced accordingly similar to how American has priced some of their flights to their hubs out of PIT.

The car seems pretty decent, but it's had a life, for sure. I think the Impreza-based cars received the six-speed manual in 2018, which was a much better transmission overall than the five-speed (more durable, better feel, better highway economy). The wear on the shift knob and steering wheel makes me wonder how that happened... maybe someone with rings with snag points? Looks like 300,000 miles of wear rather than 150,000.
Overall, the price strikes me as cream puff money for a non-cream puff car.

I think that can be said for the used car market in general, particularly trucks. I get these car advertisements from my credit union featuring special “bargains” from local new car dealers. The prices these dealers are asking for trucks with close to 100k miles takes your breath away. I don’t ever remember seeing such high milage vehicles offered by new car dealers.
Is the reason for this the assumption that today’s car and trucks are built so much better or is it a sign that there is just a big shortage of lower mile used cars?

It doesn't look bad for the age and miles. Our resident Subaru experts will weigh in on what to look out for.
The fact that an MB dealer put it on their lot rather than send straight to auction seems to bode well but you really don't know.
Of course at this price point and the age and miles it dictates, there are always risks.
