not a car, but we did buy and electric powered device today. New fridge for the garage since we had to leave the spare fridge in the old house in the basement. A nice basic LG garage ready 18 CF top freezer will arrive tomorrow.
also have our new mattress on the way. Just need to get the new king sized bed frame (along with the rest of the bedroom furniture and the china hutch) before it can be delivered. Shed in the next week or 2 will arrive (that is already paid for), and likely the end of the week our fence goes in. And just have to tell the custom closet guy to go ahead and make the pieces for the pantry for that to get installed before Thanksgiving. And thankfully at that point we will have run out of overly expensive things to spend money on, and the house will be pretty well done (well, still have to hang pictures and move some stuff around, but the parts costing money will be set!)
no wonder we have not stopped to look at any cars. No time, and no $!
we also may be working until we are as old as Sandy is now though. But we decided at this point in life, after this big of an investment, to just do it all at one shot and be done with it. So we can finally relax a little and just enjoy the place!

Did you get the kit to make it? “garage ready“?

it is from the factory. good to go down to 38 degrees which should be fine for us since the garage is fully insulated and the unit will be against an interior wall. advertised as garage ready too.
it is a bit colder up here. We did a lot of discussing with people at the stores and a common theme was that newer fridges were designed differently and were more sensitive to the temperature extremes, unlike the old tanks that just worked anywhere and lasted forever. Not too worried though, since I doubt it will get much below 38 in our garage. Plus most likely once we hit January may just turn it off since we really don't need it outside of the holidays..
When I left the post office, went out quietly...just the way I came in. It was humiliating enough to be sitting in that room 8 hours/day doing nothing those last 6 weeks. Just was glad to finally have had a decision made. But was difficult for a 56 year old guy who did nothing wrong to be fired so badly. Still, after winning our federal class action suit, not so much as a simple, "we're sorry" has come out of their mouths! Shame on them really and just makes me smile that much more every month when my pension check is deposited in my bank account!!! And I really did land on my feet in a much better place. Found another career in a different industry that I still love to this day! And to be getting paid to do something one enjoys anyways is a great way to end one's working life, whenever that will be!
And trust me, working part time at this age is really no big deal. I've finally got a great schedule with enough days off in between to feel like I'm not even working. And the small extra income every two weeks is just a bonus really. Job is so easy really, driving newer vehicles from point A to point B is hardly what I'd really call work. And driving most of the latest vehicles out there is the cherry on top of the sundae! Maybe that's why I'm in no hurry to get something new yet.

Worked 6 hours yesterday and it really was quite easy. Today will be 5 hours which ain't too bad either. Then two eight hour days during the week and I'll be done. Been averaging about 29 hours each week which is about perfect. Would love 30 hours/week to be honest, so we're very close to that right now. And having Mondays, Wednesdays & Thursdays off is just about perfect. We both work weekends now and prefer weekdays off anyways. So a win/win for us all. And best of all, we never know what we're going to do each workday. No two days are ever the same which I kind of like though I would prefer to do more long distance driving. Miss those days of going to Tampa, Jacksonville, Ft. Pierce & Key West. Nice to get out on the road with the sunroof open & the tunes blasting on the audio system. As close to perfect as one can get!!! Guess I'd even do it for free if asked...but glad I do get paid to do it all!

Saw my first Ineos Grenadier in the wild today. This was in Mount Adams, near the Cincinnati Art Museum (they have both an Ansel Adams and a George Bellows exhibition open right now, highly recommend).
What are the odds that that vehicle will never leave the pavement (question #1), or a well-maintained gravel or dirt road (question #2)?
Why do I care? I don't know, but I do. There was a time when vehicles were used for purpose, and the well set up ones showed signs of actual use.
Oh well. . .
———————————————— Here are my 2 questions:
Do you mean like back in the day when pickups had eight foot beds and were almost solely owned by guys in the trades? Like brick layers who didn’t think twice about throwing bricks and even concrete blocks into the unprotected bed of their trucks and never thought twice about it?
Oh well, I remember those days back in the 50’s.

Looks like my new smart phone is on the way to our house from Orlando. Should be here late tomorrow afternoon if all goes as planned. Wednesday morning, I'll sit down and do the transfer of information & see how it goes. Worked out pretty easy last time I did it in 2021 so have no fears. Not getting too excited yet but should be a nice change.

My parents walked into the Lexus dealer on Saturday night. They've leased 2 cars from this dealer, but the salesperson & manager they dealt with isn't there any more. A salesman took them on a lengthy test drive with an RX, NX, & One of the Hybrids (I'm not sure which one). Their lease is up in March. They are already way over the miles on their 2022 RX350. Their 2022 Has damage to it as well resulting in about $3,000 in negative equity. They got 10% off sticker before the $4,000 lease incentive. Base money factor for November & residual. They also generated a Morgan Stanley Certificate.

I was going to say that if they tend to go over mileage why not buy instead of lease but then I saw the $4k lease incentive. Any similar discounts if you buy?

I can’t believe people are bidding like this and the seller can’t even answer all the questions, such as what parts went into the build. Too many people have more money than sense, IMHO.
