Those are the upgrade wheel for the SQ5.  The standard ones look better, IMO.

I don't really care for the factory wheels on the Q5, nor the upgrade wheels on the SQ5. Don't recall being offended by the standard wheels on the SQ5, though.

Also, the standard Q5 is spec'd at 5.9 seconds 0-60. The SQ5's 5.1 second 0-60 time seems like a fairly mild upgrade.
MT got the SQ5 to 60 in well below 5 secs. i have no clue what the MSRP difference is.

    Attention: Lease Hackers

BMW has raised the 2018 X1 residuals to match the rest of the SUV fleet, for March.
So, if you are looking to do an X1 service loaner lease, now might be the time, if there are any left.

too late. Wife would have preferred the room of the X1, but the numbers just didn't make sense in December. I haven't heard any complaints in the past 3 months, though, so I win. ;)

I'm coming up with $436 all in with zero OOP at signing.  Seems OK, but nothing spectacular.  I'm not quite sure exactly how they do the residual ( I know it's .25 a mile) so I just added it in as a dealer fee.

I wonder how much more discount you could get.  Another $1500 could get you sub $400

I’d shoot for 20% off including incentives. That is a pretty color combo, but a very low option car. No Navi or car play, no BLIS. Basically equipped like our RDX, and that feels like an antique now, tech-wise!

Agree. You should be at 20% before the $4000 lease credit that is available.

Assuming the residual reduction ($.25 over 500 miles), 6.625% tax, a $399 doc fee, and $400 in registration fees (I don't know NJ), I would be targeting a 0 drive off payment of $320/month on a 36/10. With MSDs only upfront, I'd be targeting $299/month.

This is Q's neck of the woods though, so he can say better.

Reduce the residual by the $0.25/mile
Divide that number by the MSRP to get the residual percentage reduction.

Don't forget the $925 acquisition fee

The X1 is a decent candidate now, but the X2 still has bigger incentives

I bet you folks are doing better on payments than average :)

Why Americans are suddenly paying $550 per month for new cars

New-car buyers agreed to pay an average of $551 per month for 69 months in January, according to car-buying advice site Edmunds. That’s nearly 10 percent more per month than three years earlier.

Yeah, numbers are correct for Jersey. I'm not quite sure what the rebate is in NJ. Since I was only speculating I used the 2750 from the last post in the X1 thread. I come out to $358 using a 20% discount from sticker. If it is $4000, then yes $320.

    It's $30,000 for 60 months at 3.8% APR.

A lower than average price for a new car at an average interest rate, for a reasonable term. It shouldn't surprise anyone.

Conflicting info in the article. A couple of times they state that the economy is strong but also state over 7 million people are 90+ days behind on payments (up by over a million since 2010) and car debt is up 75% in the last decade. Even looking at macroeconomics the first statement is in direct conflict with the other two.

The shell game continues. Keep telling people things are good and hopefully they'll actually improve enough to truly be good before it all collapses. Reminds me of the real estate bubble around 2007.

The article said 69 months. What's interesting is that they use the term "strong economy" when it's really not, in terms of the big picture for the little guy. The income-to-debt ratio is awful right now.

Pretty good. Registration for a lease is a bit less. For 3 yrs, it should be sub $300. Although the Mt Laurel dealer charged us $185 for each the X2 and 330, even though one is 2 yrs and the other is 3 yrs.

Double ouch. It's a four banger with cloth seats. Those things weigh about 4,000 pounds and the four is completely asthmatic in them. You need the V6. Other than that, it's a decent enough CUV, and I'd think something in the $300-350 range would be a fair price for a lease takeover on a loaded V6 model. Lessee must have rolled over a ton of negative equity into that lease.

Just got home from allergy/hearing testing. Allergic to a lot of the trees down here, cigarette smoke, most dogs and really bad for cats. My oldest wants to get a cat and told her go ahead, I just won't be able to sleep there anymore as I can't breathe well at all around them. There are a few things we can do one being over the counter drugs. The next is prescription drugs. Then there's a small surgical procedure I have a brochure for but he recommended I wait till I get on Medicare to do it. Once I find the paperwork, I'll let y'all know just in case someone here has had it done or heard of it. My hearing ain't so good either and the recommendation is to get hearing aides.
Sucks getting older and feel like this last year has been a real turning point with the car accident, gall bladder removal and now this. It really stinks!!

One thing you can try is if she can keep the cat out of the extra bedroom. My Dad lived with us for years and we had 3 cats and 2 dogs. But they weren’t allowed in his bedroom. Along with allergy shots, he did fine.

never really thought about a windshield replacement having this amount of consequences. I know that camers, etc. are stuck to it so makes sense it costs more, but that is a lot of calibration, that I doubt always gets down right.

I also expect that as these cars age and stuff breaks, people will just turn it off instead of spending the money to fix it all.

The windshield on my 2012 LaCrosse was $1000 and that was aftermarket just because of the HUD.

The Enclave has some sort of sensor up near the rear view mirror for the Forward Collison Alert so I guess I’ll be in the same boat if I have to replace that one

Nice on the purchase of the new edge but your brother I’m all done, nice color combo too. Trying to get my dad either lease one soon, or buy a used car. Yes to do something soon, his Senada has near 200,000 on it, and he told me the transmissions starting to slip, but he’s pushing his luck. But he won’t do anything till it breaks down totally. Should I park since you had it paid off for a couple of years now.

Happen to be looking around at dealer raider.com, there were some reviews on this dealer called Waze auto, in Stratford Connecticut, in New York car guy his neck of the woods, everything is so fairly priced, not blocked off like a lot of dealers tend to do. Would have my dad go when he’s ready if he decides to go to use the route, but not lease. Also another dealer here near me and we went to the prior used cars been a number of years though, whole front line auto sales, maybe will check them out too. I’m check their inventory now too.

In case anyone here is curious, my used tires purchase has concluded. As a refresher, I ordered a set of 4 Goodyear Eagle Sport ROF (these are one of the BMW OEM tires for the X1) from a used tire website that supposedly had 10-11/32 of tread left for a grand total of $350 shipped.

Tires arrived yesterday, a week late thanks to FedEx. In better than expected condition with no patches, no unusual wear, nothing. Tire place said they were more or less brand new (estimated at < 500 miles on them). Installed, balanced, and TPMS programmed for $125. So for $475 all in, I have tires on the X1 that will last me far beyond my time with the car.

Took the Encore into the shop this afternoon. Deemed not drivable as the safety crumple zone bars on the drivers door are, well, crumpled. Got put in a brand new Mazda CX-5, Silver over black, all the goodies. It is a very nice vehicle. We just drove it home so not much chance to check it out. I have always loved Mazdas so I feel very comfortable in it. Good size for us too. I’m told it will be about a week before we get the Encore back.

Well no accidents but a helluva lot of service visits in the first 30K for various electrical this and electrical that. Then it seems to settle down for a while, then fails emissions and a new BCM is installed apparently. Then it falls off the radar for 20K. Apparently a Honda dealer has been taking care of this car for the last 1/3rd of its life. I bet that's the people to check in with on this car.

What's up with the Encore? The more I drive them at work, the more I like them. Could very well be in my garage in a year or two as it's the right size. Bought a bookcase off of "OfferUp" last week and was able to lower the back seats and have it slide right in. Made it very easy to get it home so glad to have a bit of versatility to be honest. Sure, a small p/u would be better but the Golf swallowed up more than I expected and again, surprised me doing this.
Was talking with the wife earlier and she's telling me that I should wait another couple of years to replace the Golf and then just use the cash in my TSP account. Was surprised when she said that because not really sure when I'm going to get a replacement vehicle but liked her TSP payment option. As by then, hoping to have close to $20K in it.
